I love quaint cafes and this is one of them. Its easy to miss but I just happened to be driving by. They opened a year ago. We had 3 items: caramel macchiato, chai tea with oat milk, and an apple turnover. - caramel macchiato: 6/10. It had a strong and smooth espresso taste but only a hint of caramel. It was hot and the warmth lasted long enough to enjoy the entire cup. -chai tea with oat milk: 10/10. Excellent taste and vibrant flavor. It was smooth and the chai was bold. -Apple Turnover: 9/10. Really great for a coffee shop pastry. Not too sweet and a good portion. I ask for it to be warmed. -Atmosphere: small yet, well appointed space. There are several tables with 2 seats and a larger table for groups. It was clean (bathroom included). Note for parents or those who may bring infants: the bathroom does not have a changing table. Free wifi. -Menu: a mix of coffee and teas with limited pastries (muffin, apple turn over, croissants) Great experience overall!

Had this spot on my to visit list since April, I finally decided to stop in today on my way from the train station. I'm glad I did. The Croissant & White Chocolate Mocha is amazing. The atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing. I received excellent customer service from Erica. Will totally be returning.

Stumbled upon this shop after leaving the nail salon and so glad I did. I almost didn't want to write this review to keep this place to myself. It's a small and quiet coffee shop, which is exactly what I was looking for. It also has lots of plant supplies and plants. I'm not sure if the person working that day was the owner, he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products offered. He was patient with me as I decided on what to order and informed me that the coffee I chose was from Nepal. While I spent some time working, a few frequent customers came in and I only know this because the employee remembered their orders. There was also someone who came in about an issue they had with a product from the store and he exchanged it with no questions/charge. Bonus points for parking being easily available! I look forward to visiting again!

Olivia Coffee is such a lovely addition to the Mount Vernon landscape. The owner is Nepalese (I need to catch his name) and the inside of the shop is cute, with tables for working. The coffee menu is small but honestly, you don't need a ton of options when the coffee is good and not burnt (looking at you, Starbies). Oh and they have a small case for baked goods (croissants, muffins, etc) This is an excellent option for those who are tired of giving their money to union busting Starbies. The owner is so sweet. If you enjoy Dooby's but find it is a lor too much of a hike, Olivia Coffee is the solution. They have cold brew, espresso, black tea lemonade, and matcha. Almond milk, soy milk and oat milk for the dairy free bbys. Plus they have a reward card! Buy 9 drinks, get the 10th free. I'm looking forward to patronizing this place for a long time. You should def check it out.

Olivia Coffee gives me similar vibes to Aveley Farms Coffee Roasters! It's very clean and minimalistic, although one of my friends think it's a bit too clean, almost clinical. I ordered a normal latte with almond milk. Full stop, the foam was divine -- so copious and freaking FLUFFY. However, my friends were more critical. One ordered the Pistachio Chai Latte, but she said it missed the pistachio flavor and just tasted like a normal chai latte. The other ordered a White Chocolate Mocha and didn't have many thoughts on the taste. Other notes: the available drink options are unique but there isn't much of a selection outside of lattes or mochas. There weren't a lot of pastry options. Service is kind and fast. All in all, a solid, quiet place to visit!

The sauce strikes a perfect balance of sweetness, acidity, and richness, while the crust is exactly what great pizza should be--light, beautifully blistered, and finished with an irresistible crisp that gives way to a flavorful finish. Every bite is thoughtfully executed, and nothing feels overdone or out of balance. It's the kind of pizza that reminds you how simple ingredients, when treated with care, can be exceptional. We got 2 pastries and 2 coffee drinks. I got a lemon spritz espresso soda thing which actually was delicious! My husband got plain iced coffee which was also good. What I didn't appreciate was my drink being served in a soggy, soaking wet/condensing cup. They use paper to go cups. They need to figure that out, it was pretty rough to hold - collapsing and soggy, not a great experience. Our pastries were just okay - got the fig/creme filled big puff and a spinach ricotta pastry. Both were fine, a bit dry, and I've had similar/better things from Tous Le Jous, cafe dear Leon, and even ovenbird. These seemed maybe not so fresh. They do charge a 15% gratuity for all orders so we paid about $4 extra for a soggy cup and only okay pastries. Ultimately we just didn't love the experience and the cost. I'd come back to try the pizza and sandwiches but I will have low expectations.

That should tell you something! I also genuinely did not think their most popular item, the crab pastry, would live up to the hype... but holy crap, it really is that good. It's such a unique pastry and it's so filling too. I love their coffee, and I ended up ordering a bunch of pastries just to try them -- every single one was a hit. Not a miss in the bunch. It's also such a beautiful cafe, with lots of students and people working and chatting. Such a lovely place to sit for a while. Highly recommend!

I went on a weekday and there was a short line so the wait was no more than 5-7 minutes. The ambiance was fast-paced and smelled of fresh baked pastries, which was right up my alley. There was plenty is seating in the back as well as outdoor. They have a menu for you to peruse before you order. They have assorted sweet and savory items along with typical bakery drinks (coffee, tea, etc.). The staff were very pleasant when I approached the counter for my order: a crab dip bagel, ham and cheese croissant, and a "crookie", which was a croissant with chocolate chips inside and topped with chocolate chip cookies. My items were packaged in no time and I was provided with reheating instructions for my items as well. First up, the crab bagel, a nice, fresh, pillow soft bagel topped with a mixture of fresh crab and sweet corn (not on my bingo card to be included in a traditional crab dip ). This was interesting...I did have to add additional Old Bay seasoning to this once I was home (I'm a Bmore gurl, what can I say?), which made it more tasty, in my option. Now, for me, would I go across town and potentially stand in a long line for this? No, I wouldn't. It was just okay for me. Next, the ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was flaky and airy with the perfect amount of chew and crisp. I did reheat it according to the instructions and it was good. The ham's saltiness combined with the cheese and croissant made for a decent item. Finally, the "crookie", which I also heated up. Now THIS???? I was not expecting that burst of sweet, delectable flavor in my mouth. This was my afterthought purchase and proved to be THE star of my whole Cafe Dear Leon experience. The croissant, once again, flaky, chewy, airy with the surprise of chocolate chips inserted with those two chocolate chip cookies on top....NOW, would I go across town and potentially stand in line for THIS? YES, yes I would!! All in all La Maison Cafe Dear Leon won me over with the ham and cheese croissant and definitely the "crookie"! I will be making my way across town again soon.
