While walking to work I stumbled onto LB Bakery located in the Lord Baltimore hotel for breakfast. LB Bakery has an assortment of coffees, delicious pastries as well as sandwiches for the lunch rush. I ordered the breakfast platter which comes with 2 eggs any style , choice of protein with home fries and toast. Great breakfast and will be back.

    Raspberry tart

I'll start by saying I loved the raspberry tart - it was perfectly done and the fruit was fresh! It was a little on the pricey side, however, this is a cafe in the Lord Baltimore hotel, so of course things are going to be a bit pricey. My friends all ordered different things and had mixed reviews. The coffee was good, but the espresso was not done properly apparently.

A little over cooked but good none the less.

Not much to say or see here. I walked past this spot the other night and saw their breakfast specials and decided to return the following morning for breakfast. The staff was nice but the food was not much to write home about. I ordered the Belgian waffle and I was a bit underwhelmed. The waffle was a bit over cooked, square in shape and a bit dry for my taste. The fruit on top with the side of bacon made it palatable. I took a chance but sadly I won't be returning.

This is a really cool bakery/coffee shop tucked away in the Lord Baltimore hotel. We stayed here for a week when we visited family, and it was nice to have a place in the hotel to get a good cup of coffee and something small to eat. It looks like they remodeled recently because the interior feels new and bright. They have a good amount of pastries and sandwiches available, and offer soy and almond milk for non dairy options. My favorite things were the hot chocolate (even without the whipped cream it was very creamy and decadent), and their homemade ding dong...SO good. I should have gotten two before we checked out. Service was good too. They were patient with all the customer inquiries and took their time making the drinks. I will return next time we are in the area.

    Almond croissant

I came here after reading a few good reviews, but missed the one about the almond croissant. Unfortunately, I tried said almond croissant and it was as bad as described. Having had similar desserts from a Parisian restaurant in Toronto, I have some high expectations. However the croissant from LB Bakery was quite lackluster. The croissant was chewy and not flakey at all. The filling was rich but couldn't save the dessert. At first bite I thought maybe it was just stale leftovers, since it was noon. I also tried the coffee. I ordered a mocha and that was not bad. Overall, though, I was not impressed.

A nice cafe inside the Lord Baltimore Hotel. They don't boast the widest or most varied options for breakfast but what they do offer is all excellent. The Lord Baltimore breakfast is a personal fav, just a classic dish eggs, potatoes sausage or bacon but done very well and at a good price. The pancakes and French toast were good too.

Federal and Gov = 20% off!

The on-site hand made delectables are amazing! You can tell that the baker takes pride in her work. The staff is very friendly and is very proud to sell what they have. Just saw the sign that advertises 20% off to Federal and Government employees. Score! They use and sell St Michaels (Maryland) chocolate zin! The pot de crème, veggie quiche, chocolate dipped chocolate cherry Danish pudding and macaroons are to die for! Even the yogurt parfait was delicious and satisfying. Wonderful staff, wonderful food. A must if you are in the area.

We got 2 pastries and 2 coffee drinks. I got a lemon spritz espresso soda thing which actually was delicious! My husband got plain iced coffee which was also good. What I didn't appreciate was my drink being served in a soggy, soaking wet/condensing cup. They use paper to go cups. They need to figure that out, it was pretty rough to hold - collapsing and soggy, not a great experience. Our pastries were just okay - got the fig/creme filled big puff and a spinach ricotta pastry. Both were fine, a bit dry, and I've had similar/better things from Tous Le Jous, cafe dear Leon, and even ovenbird. These seemed maybe not so fresh. They do charge a 15% gratuity for all orders so we paid about $4 extra for a soggy cup and only okay pastries. Ultimately we just didn't love the experience and the cost. I'd come back to try the pizza and sandwiches but I will have low expectations.

As I was coming back to my car, there was a traffic cop giving out tickets. Sistahs' Sweets is, as you may have guessed, owned by two sisters and features sweet treats such as cupcakes and drinks as well as savory items, featuring their homemade cheddar biscuit. Upon entering, the ambiance was light and whimsical with punches of red and pink decorations and limited seating inside (wi fi is available) along with outside seating. The staff was pleasant and I placed my order: a crab dip stuffed Baltimore biscuit, a breakfast biscuit (consisting of egg, bacon on a cheddar biscuit), and blueberry Passionfruit and summer peach lemonades. My order was ready in no time. First the breakfast biscuit. The bacon and egg were perfectly cooked and sandwiched between a homemade cheddar biscuit, which was perfectly baked. This sandwich was really good. Now the crab dip stuffed Baltimore biscuit was another matter. The biscuit was nice a brown, but when I went in to cut, the inside was underbaked, dare I say raw. I was a little disappointed. There was a smear of crab dip inside, but not nearly enough to justify the price. I had to place it back in oven to bake enough for me to enjoy. Full disclosure, I did get a response from the owners who were very apologetic in what I received and offered to make it right with another one on the house on my next visit! Now THAT's customer service! Now let's get into the lemonades...both blew my tastebuds away. The blueberry passion fruit and summer peach had bits of fruit in them and all I have to say is that I really enjoyed them! Now my score was three stars due to the underbaked biscuit, but they could have easily gotten one of my seldom given 5 stars if that biscuit was baked through. Just more bake time is needed. All in all, I rock with Sistahs' Sweets and will gladly pay them a return biscuit not only to try the crab dip stuffed Baltimore biscuit again, but to try their other lemonades, cupcakes, and savory items.
