Absolutely loved this place! I loved that they have a variety of seating, from stools to chairs to sofa-like as well as outdoors seating. The staff were nice and friendly. The prices are comparable to other upscale cafes. The squash tacos were fresh and tasty. Quick warning that they are very small (but full of flavor). This place has steadily become one of our absolute favorites for breakfast and lunch. We took the kids today and the pastries were great as always. The carrot sesame soup was phenomenal. The food here is excellent. I would have liked to try their quiche which was in their cold case. They could not heat it up,even though they have a kitchen with a number of freshly made hot dishes--all kinds of eggs,etc.??????? However, when I visited on a weekday morning around 11:00, the restaurant was so crowded and noisy that I found it unbearable. Part of this is that the seating is so close that it is very difficult to have a conversation. Add to this the piped in music. These are things that are in the owners' control. First time visiting the Corner Pantry. The place felt very exciting when I walked in, lovely high cases filled with layers of delicious looking pastries, salads, and desserts. I couldn't quite figure out the ordering situation and if they had other food offerings but the nearby employee showed me a menu, so we ordered, received a number and sat outside. The cappuccino looked really beautiful with a froth heart, served in nice yellow ceramics. Our entrees pancakes & healthy skinny sandwich & side of bacon were all delicious. I mean one side of our bread was completely burnt and our bacon was undercooked and overcooked..... but it didn't spoil our meal, the flavors and overall recipes were very impressive. For example the pesto like sauce on the sandwich was spectacular and so fresh, my husband hates pesto but he loved this. Also the pancakes had a fruit compote with granola and a nut butter, so fantastic we didn't miss the regular butter at all. I would love to return here sometime, it's just really nice to visit a place that someone has obviously put a lot of thought into so many details. read more

Service was good. Explanation of items offered did not live up to the items that were brought to our table. It was explained that the fish was fresh which was also corroborated by other customers, however traveling around the country/world as my wife and I have done we found this dining experience lacking. My wife ordered the halibut which was very well presented but we both could smell the fish way before it got to our table. We ordered two iced lattes with oat milk, did not taste any oat-milk but tasted like black coffee poured into fat free milk. I had gotten a few of the pastries from the glass case next to the register area which were tasty but kind of dried out. Not trying to stay on a negative note so I will give them kudos on cleanliness. ( by the way my wife is a former Health Inspector). We are very quiet meek kinda folks so did not want to say anything. We did not eat the fish nor drink the coffee and immediately threw it out in the parking lot trash. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items or they were having an off day but either way I don't believe I will be returning to this establishment. Consistency is VERY important to me and having consistently delicious food is no doubt what keeps me coming back. The Corner Pantry is located on Falls Rd in the Mt. Washington corridor. Outside seating (pictured) is available as well as close parking spots for carry out customers. They are closed on Sundays, but have great weekend brunch options featured every Saturday and serve breakfast every day! Trying to be healthy, I ordered the Red Quinoa Bowl (pictured). It comes with sautéed kale, blistered cherry tomatoes, avocado, and cheddar scrambled eggs. The way they do their scrambled eggs there is great--so soft and light. You can tell they put love in all the plates they put out here! They are visually appealing as well as tasty! This was a light entree portion which was good and blistered tomatoes added a great touch to the dish. With the layer of avocado, it was a well balanced dish. Having had something healthy, it's very hard to resist the chocolate chip cookie. The Corner Pantry does it right--one of my favorite takes locally on an old favorite! So much gooey chocolate mixed with that softness is a treat every time! If you find yourself looking for brunch OR lunch, do yourself a favor and make that visit to The Corner Pantry! The staff is great and you can't go wrong with any of the food options on the menu! I've had everything from sandwiches to salads as well as pastries. I've been loving bakeries lately. Corner Pantry has probably the best cheese biscuit I've ever had! Ever! Outside is chewy, inside is fluffy and full of cheese. So yummy! I have noticed the corner pantry literally in the corner of my eye for many year, but it is one of those places I never ever bothered. I love sausage rolls and had a craving, and this is probably the only place in Bmore that makes them. It wasn't bad, I felt the sausage had a sharp taste, if the craving hits may indulge. Really cute breakfast place with great food. Weekends are always very busy and can be hard to get a table so I prefer to come on weekdays. The farm plate with a sausage roll is my go to but anything with mushrooms is always good too. Lattes are also always good and not overly sweet. They did tell my friend they couldn't add an egg to the quinoa bowl because it would fall over even though it was all in a pretty deep bowl for some reason? A dear friend (English by heritage) and I hadn't seen each other in a long time and we recently met up here to try some of the lovely British cuisine! Offerings include lots of fancy salad bar options that you can order in or have packaged to take out, as well as a miriad of English pastries and food that can be prepared to order. I got the Welsh Rarebit Croque Madame. This fun mashup of British and French classics was a delight - toasty, cheesy, with a little mustard and a fried egg on top. I almost missed the bechamel sauce typical of a croque madame, but honestly it's fine without it. A cup of English Breakfast on the side and it is a solid meal for a reasonable price. I couldn't let my first visit pass without trying the pastries! I got a sampling of crumpets, scones, and cheddar biscuits (move over, Red Lobster!) to bring home to my wife; Corner Pantry will even send you home with some butter and some of their house-made jam. We devoured every morsel which are good on their own and excellent with a side of tea. A nice little cafe shop worth checking out whether eating in or taking out. I'll be back! read more

Very discrete from the outside. Corner Pantry is in a small shopping center on a side road. During busy hours, the parking lot seems to be full consistently so I wondered how the food was. When you walk inside, you're greeted with subway tile, a large counter and about 10 tables. The Corner Pantry is very clean and the line moves quickly. Initially, I did a scan of he baked goods available (different types of biscuits, chocolate chip cookies, quiche and some other options. I ordered the latkes and skinny egg sandwich. Oh, and a hot cocoa with. Perfectly placed homemade marshmallow. You're given a number and can snag a table. During busy hours, this place fills up. The tables turned over somewhat quickly, but it's a consideration when planning what time to go. The good thing is they open before many other area breakfast spots, which is a plus. The latkes were presented on a slate dish on top of sour cream and topped with an amazing applesauce. They were scrumptious. I recommend ordering them. Go lighter on your main entree if you're not too hungry. The latkes are a must try. The skinny egg sandwich was so good. One slice of bread has pesto, the other slice of bread has avocado. In between, a lovely egg white cooked perfectly. I was so full by the time I got to the second half of the sandwich. I ate the egg and left the bread.
