I accompanied a few people here. Parking is very tight on the street but there is parking located in the rear. We arrived after 1pm and was able to get seates within 30 minutes with a number of parties waiting ahead of us. This was my first time eating here and the eatery in general. There is seating available in 3 different areas to include upstairs. The womans rest roomm was pretty clean for the volume of people dining in. After looking over the menu and mouth watering. I chose Ms. Shirley Bloody Mary, fried green tomatoes and Chicken w/pineapple upside down waffles. In the party others ordered buffalo shrimo deviled eggs, gumbo, shrimp tacos and a seafood type omelette. The fried green tomatoes were hard and not of good seasoning, the others enjoyed the buffalo shrimp deviled eggs. The gumbo was not enjoyed thus was sent back. My Ms. Shirley Bloody Mary was not as desired; taste of Old Bay seasoned tomato juice. Ths pineapple upside down waffles were fluffy but deceiving on the part of thinking it was going to be like the cake. It was like 3 little mini belgian waffles with pieces of pineapples tossed on top of the batter before cooking. But they were okay. The other party enjoyed the rest of the meals. I didnt snap the meal photos as we indulged quickly as we were hungry and I forgot. Our server was great and attentive. She was definitely on of the best servers Ive had. The menu was very inviting and appealing but the food did not match up to the mouthwatering description and pictures.

This was my first time at this location, I am familiar with the Miss Shirley's brand. The food is always good, it was refreshing to see consistency at another location. I ordered the blackened salmon Benedict and the crabby omelette to share. There was a lot of fresh handpicked crab in the omelette, delicious. The salmon Benedict was good as well but I'll definitely be coming back for the crab omelette. The staff are really nice and there is also plenty of street parking available.

Haven't been here in a few years. Went for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Staff was amazing as usual, atmosphere was great, and overall a wonderful meal. Will definitely be back in the near future

Stopped in for Baltimore Restaurant Week since it had been a few years since my last visit, and the food was just as good as I remembered! They were offering a 2-course meal for $25, so I went with Nana's Grapefruit Brûlée and the Chicken & Cheddar Green Onion Waffle. Both were just as delicious as I remembered from my last visit! The restaurant has plenty of seating, making it a great spot for family outings. Since the weather was nice, I sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. The service was truly 10/10, every server who walked by checked in to see if I needed anything. If you haven't been yet, this place is definitely a Baltimore brunch staple!

Went during restaurant week last year, got the grapefruit brûlée, chicken and waffles, another time got the crab soup and skillet for around $30 pp. Loved the food and service was good as the waffles were undercooked the first time and they redid it.

I had the best breakfast I've had in Baltimore and I can't believe I've been sleeping on this place! Miss Shirley's is top tier! The restaurant is large and there was a wait but it moved pretty quickly. I had the pineapple upside down pancakes and it was like something I have never tasted. I usually only eat plain pancakes but I am so happy I took the waitress' advice and tried these! 10 out of 10! Now let me tell you about the shrimp and grits.... When they came out I was immediately turned off by the presentation. But after taking my first bite I was hooked! It was the best combo! Shrimp, grits and fried green tomato! Chefs kiss! And it was so filling! I don't want shrimp and grits any other way now. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes!

I haven't been to Miss Shirley's in some years & I'm soooo glad I stopped in. It wasn't crowded, which I assumed it would be - let's not get it twisted, the place is busy on the weekends. However, I was very fortunate - I was seated immediately. My server was very pleasant & helped me make my brunch decision. She made happy when she told me my choice, the Pineapple Upside Pancakes, were available in waffles too (that will be what I get next). Everything was good & my awesome server, Emily, made sure my glass never got to empty. Cant wait to go back & try the other Breakfast choices...

If you are going for weekend brunch get there early! The hostess was very helpful and accommodating. Our waiter was detailed oriented and casually professional. I love the orange colors through the restaurant; very vibrant and high energy. The vibe was great from start to finish. They have a lot of uniques menu items and ingredient combinations. I ordered the garden omelette, key lime stuffed French toast, shredded potatoes , pimento cheese biscuits and the peach & goat cheese biscuits. After the first bite of the pimento cheese biscuits everything else did not stand a chance! Please check out Miss Shirley's if you want good food that you don't have to wait a long time to get your food after ordering.

So I've been to Miss Shirley's a few times over the years and this was the first time I think I was actually disappointed in my selections. The fried green tomatoes were disappointed, and this was supposed to be the highlight of my brunch. The cornmeal mixture was a little sweet, and tacky tasting. Meaning it gave a gummy consistency. I was not a fan of this after sending it back once because of its light coating. I wanted it a heavier covered. I think that they reread it was already sent out making the consistency a little off. The banana bread French toast was underwhelming understand that a lot of people have no allergies but as an aside nuts could've been added or at least offered It's an up charge if you want whipped cream. Very disappointed. A server was very nice. Management was very pleasant and attended to my needs and ambience is always clean and welcoming.

Best meal we had in our time around Baltimore! It was a cool surprise to see it was on an episode of DDD. The breakfast was BOMB (we visited twice in 4 days)! Staff was very attentive and friendly, asking our names and checking in regularly. Management also walked around for quality checks. Smiles all around made it feel like a real mom and pop shop. Fun atmosphere, great food, kind service. A+!

Ive been here several times in the last 6 years, but it has been a while. We came on a Sunday around 11am, and it was a packed house, but they were able to get us in right away. The food is still really good , and their menu is so expansive. Something for classic breakfast lovers, experimental breakfast lovers, health conscious friends, and folks with several dietary restrictions. Our service on this day was a little scattered on this day. Seemed like our server could use more training or was having an off day. The restaurant is very spacious and although it was busy, ran rather smoothly.

I wish I loved Miss Shirley's more. It's a Baltimore staple and some folks swear by it, but I'm always underwhelmed when I leave. However the vibes of the establishment do take it from a 3-star to a 4-star review for me. Food - the portions are generous but the quality is average. The pricing is also on the higher side. I think sticking to classics like pancakes and eggs will probably be the highest yield on the menu. Service - excellent, they are well staffed and very attentive. Food does come out to the table very quickly. Ambience - the location is so cute and right on Cold Spring Lane. There is a small parking lot in the back that you could get lucky and find a spot in but otherwise there is plentiful street parking. The decor makes you feel so nostalgic for Baltimore of old even if you haven't grown up here!

I've been here several times and always want to try something different cuz there are so many amazing things on the menu but I always get the shrimp & grits! There is a fried green tomato on bottom topped with grits & shrimp....amazing !! The fried green tomato is a little hard but when u eat it all together with grits & shrimp it's so good !! The coconut cream filled French toast is amazing as well! I tasted the chicken & waffles which was good but the waffle was a little weird it tasted sweet at first then the savory of the cheese & onions hits so to me I would just get plain waffles! Overall great atmosphere, service & food.

We've been here for casual date nights, Valentine's dinner, and the last time we came was for our friends renewing their vows after 10 years of marriage. That alone says a lot about the kind of place it is. It fits both everyday moments and really meaningful ones. What stands out first is the atmosphere. There's a warmth to the space that makes it feel inviting right away. It has a rustic, polished look with a lot of character, but it never feels stiff or overly formal. It's the kind of place where you can tell thought was put into every detail, but it still feels comfortable enough to settle in and enjoy yourself. For me, the experience starts before the food even hits the table. The space has a calm, intentional energy to it. It's perfect for slowing things down and actually enjoying your time, especially with someone you care about. The food is where it really separates itself. Everything feels carefully prepared and well thought out. You can tell they care about ingredients, and that always comes through in the flavor. Nothing feels thrown together or generic. The menu itself gets you excited before you even order, and the food lives up to it. What I appreciate most is that it doesn't just feel like a place serving food, it feels like a place creating an experience. The dishes have personality. There's intention behind them. It's not about being flashy, it's about doing things right. The service adds to that as well. Every time we've gone, the staff has been friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without hovering. It makes the whole experience feel smooth and relaxed. Another thing I like is that it feels distinctly Baltimore without feeling ordinary. It has a real identity to it, and that makes it memorable. My wife and I keep coming back because it feels like time well spent. Good food, great atmosphere, and the kind of place that actually stays with you after you leave. Overall, this is easily one of the more memorable dining experiences in Baltimore. Definitely worth it if you're looking for something that feels meaningful, not just another night out.

Oddly enough, it was pretty quiet, but they do have the games on for anyone looking for a low-key spot to watch. We were seated within 5 minutes, which I appreciated. Our server, Patrick, was... okay. Not terrible, but definitely felt new to serving. We didn't get the rundown of the daily specials (yet overheard them being given to the booth behind us), and a few small service details slipped through--but I'm giving him grace based on his newness. One thing I noticed from Yelp reviews is that bread is usually served automatically. We had to request it, especially after seeing tables seated after us get theirs first. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. We ordered several appetizers, and honestly, they were filling enough to be a full meal: * Ribs - Flavorful, tender, and genuinely falling off the bone. The portion sizes were a bit inconsistent--some pieces were cut shorter than others--but the texture was on point. I'd definitely return for these. * Brussels Sprouts - Patrick didn't mention they were shareable, which would've been helpful. I did like the flavor, but in hindsight I'm glad we pivoted to... * Crab Dip - This one missed for me. The flavor leaned more tuna-ish than crab-forward. Not my preference, but you may feel differently. * Shrimp in Spicy Butter - Definitely spicy, but somehow still flavorless. More like spicy water than a seasoned butter sauce. The one bonus? They were served piping hot--exactly how I like my food. * French Fries - Hand-cut and tasty. A solid win. Unfortunately, everything except the shrimp came out lukewarm, which took away from dishes that could've been great. Temperature matters! On the drink side, though? Hits all around. The fresh-pressed beet juice was fantastic, and the sweet tea was also on point. We skipped dessert only because we were full, but I'm already planning to come back specifically to try it--along with the ribs and fries again. Overall, I'm hoping this was just an off day. Elliott's Kitchen has potential, and I'd like to see it shine on the next visit
