Met a friend here for 9:30am breakfast. shortly after being seated, a staff member decided to CRANK the music - it was Evanescence or something similar - either way it was obviously someone on staff's absolute favorite song and they decided to turn the volume so loud that it was difficult to have a comfortable conversation. It's 9:30am, I'm not trying to scream over 90s pop music to have a conversation with someone two feet away from me. The menu was a QR code on a dirty, laminated card stuck to the table. My friend and I each ordered an entree plus a short stack to share. Neither of our egg dishes came with toast so we ordered that on the side. All they offer is white, English muffin or biscuit. I ordered the white toast and it is the 2" thick, low quality, tasteless white bread they use for their French toast. Whatever. The utensils are one step above plastic - they are light-weight, cheap, rough edged crap you might imagine in a prison. Whatever. The plastic containers of half and half were already on the table, sitting there at room temp. Again, whatever. The waitress dropped off the bill, said to use the QR code to pay unless we were using cash, then took off. If we wanted to split the bill, I guessed we would need to wait for her to come back around. So, I offered to pay the astoundingly high bill. I open the QR link and the first things that popped are the tip options with 20% pre-selected. All told the bill was $97 for two people. When I got home I glanced at the itemized bill: *They charged us $16 for two cups of coffee with one refill each. *a 20 % tip was already included! Apparently, they add 20% onto checks over $50. Of course it's over $50 when you charge $16 for mugs of coffee, and $$ for sides of crappy white toast. Make no mistake, this is my fault for paying with the QR code and not combing through the itemized bill first. I guess I'm not used to going to neighborhood joints expecting to get fleeced. My suggestion: go around the corner to Spoons Cafe on Cross St: high quality food and you won't feel robbed blind when you look at the bill. read more

So many people recommended that I come here and that it was worth however long I'd have to wait for a table. I went on a Saturday morning around 9:45 and waited about 25 minutes for a table for 2. The menu is EXTENSIVE and they have an option for pretty much anything you're in the mood for! I got the Mexican egg scramble and the pumpkin pancakes to share. The prices might seem slightly on the higher side for a breakfast place, but once you get your food you'll understand why. The portions are generous and the food is delicious! I ended up taking half of the food home and I genuinely looked forward to eating it as leftovers - which fed me for multiple meals. 12/10 would recommend the pumpkin pancakes no matter what season it is. We went looking for a weekday breakfast near Fed Hill, and thought of Blue Moon Too. (Apr 2026) It's an easy to find bright blue storefront on Light Street, just north of the Cross Street Market. At 10am on a weekday, we found metered street parking right at their corner. It's a large space, with walls covered with art. There's around 52 seats at tables of mostly 4 and 2, with one for around 12. There was a 2-seat-table set up outside, and a bunch more available down the side of the restaurant that could be set up. We chose a table for the two of us, and server immediately offered us hot coffee in big steaming mugs. The menu, available online and by QR code, is huge! We ordered Veggie Scramble: 3-eggs lusciously full of mushrooms onions green peppers and tomatoes. They let us choose feta cheese! And the hash browns were epic! A mountain of creamy shredded potatoes, well-done to a crispy crunchy surface! And we got their Huevos Rancheros: open-faced 2-egg tacos, flavorful medium-spicy Mexican chorizo sausage and salsa verde under melted cheddar-cheese, over warm soft corn tortillas, with a side of those amazing hashbrown shredded potatoes. We got the eggs scrambled. Both breakfast servings were ample and delicious. Service was friendly, fast, and efficient. A few flaws: They have no espresso! Waah! The strong black coffee tasted a little bit bitter, maybe brewing for too long, but it was fine with milk and sugar. We each had two cups, which tells you the bottom-line :-). And, we made a point of choosing a two-person table, while one person waiting for a date was asked rather sternly by the manager to leave their only 12-person-table for a larger group. Makes sense, but it might have come-across a little too harshly. While I'm fussing, i didnt see any food photos on the QR menu. Sigh. We loved our generous breakfast and the whole friendly artsy atmosphere. Everyone, even the switched-table, seemed comfortable, with friendly chatter filling the high-ceilinged hall. I always make sure this is my first stop when I visit Baltimore. I love their breakfast and their Cap'n Crunch French toast... however this time I really wanted some hollandaise... should not have gotten cheese on my hashbrowns, it was a lot on top of the cheesy grits that I ordered. A very heavy meal for my first meal when I arrived at 8 AM. The staff is beyond friendly, and I love the art inside of the restaurant. I recently went to Blue Moon Cafe in Fells Point and also just checked out this location in Fed Hill. This cafe is a lot bigger than the Fells Point one. They weren't seating guests outside but since we had my dog, they accommodated us which was really nice. We ordered the Vegetarian omelette and the Full Moon with French Toast and bacon. We searched online and saw the Cap'n' Crunch French Toast all throughout my social media feed. It was a nice day to walk to Federal Hill and stop by. All the tables were packed so I was able to get a seat at the bar. I already knew what I wanted so it was convenient. The French Toast itself comes around $20. You should get the full breakfast for an extra charge to make it worth it. It comes with eggs and bacon. The food was on point. I enjoyed the French Toast. I haven't tried Cap'n' Crunch since I was a child. They do have several other options that I would love to try sometime. The PB and Jelly French Toast, Pina Colada French Toast, and Crab Dip French Toast all seem like exciting options. Great service here. I have tried this location twice (in Fed Hill) and overall just not for me. Both times came on Sunday around 9-9:10am. First time for 2 of us, we got seated right away, the second time was for 4 and was about a 25min wait (not a big deal since we know it's a busy spot for brunch). First visit: - Italian Omelette and Autumn Omelette: they were good, nothing special. Wasn't a fan of the apples on the omelette but that's just me. When we first walked in, there were multiple open tables but took them 5-10mins to get us seated as they were busy talking to each other. Second visit: - Blue Moon Burger and Sweet Baby Jesus: the burger was mid but the sweet baby Jesus is definitely worth the hype! - Service again was not good and were quite rude, although we did get a refill once While the SBJ would be worth coming back for again, I'm not sure I will due the service we have received. Maybe willing to try once more as I want to try the French Toast and seeing other positive reviews (third times the charm?) 20% gratuity is automatically applied for parties of 4+ or if your bill is $50+(super easy to hit $50 for 2 people). While, I am more than happy to tip 20%+, we just did not receive good or even mediocre service. Aesthetic Diner Food. I've been eyeing this restaurant for the past year living in the neighborhood, and we finally decided to try it. Expectations didn't meet what we thought we were going to experience. The fruit was incredibly underripe. We purchased the fruit plate and 60% was inedible. The blueberries literally had my teeth mark on them! the coffee was diner quality and the French toast (and sin roll) crumbled when you ate it. Like crumbled apart. I've never had a dryer piece of bread, I'm not exaggerating. The Mexican omelette was ok. By this point we decided to view this as a diner and not a breakfast experience like maybe spoons up the street. Once we adjust to our actual experience it became a tad more bearable. The pancakes were delicious, had a hint of sweetness to it, very flavorful. I understand why the hash is called Sweet Baby Jesus, it is so good u want to say just that. It had huge chunks of crabmeat on it along with the eggs and hollandaise... it was delicious. The decor is cool, definitely generates a conversation. The servers were attentive. Two reasons why they are not a 5 star: they need to check the floor under the tables between customers, ours hand a utensil and napkins on the floor and it was noisy, almost little to noisy for us...however neither of these reasons would prevent us from going again.
