Came here to do some remote work and wasn't super impressed with my experience. We started out on the patio but quickly moved inside due to the heat. Although we were there on a Monday at lunchtime, the dining area quickly became busy and loud. We ordered some crab dip, which they were able to provide some gluten-free bread for. I really liked the crab dip! It was creamy and flavorful. After placing some salad orders, the food came out, but we were not brought utensils to eat. The meat was not cooked how we asked for it to be, and one of the plates had to be sent back to be cooked more. After around 20 minutes, we were finally given forks to start eating. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad and despite my fish being a bit underdone, it was pretty good. I wish there was more dressing on the salad though because it was a bit bland and dry. I stopped by Wicked Sisters on a Monday around 11:30am hoping for a quiet lunch and coworking. When I arrived, the patio had a ton of cardboard lying around which was quickly cleaned up by the hostess. We ended up moving indoors due to the heat. The upstairs became crowded quickly at around 12pm due to some large parties arriving for graduation lunches, etc. I was really surprised with how busy it got for a Monday lunch! We moved again to the bar area so we had more space to spread out and could more easily talk to each other since another party was seated super close to us, and I felt like we were disrupting their nice lunch with our laptop use. The crab dip was delicious and came with regular bread, gluten free bread (by request), and some veggies. I got the steak salad cooked medium but the steak came out extremely rare. I sent it back and it came out again at the correct temperature. Neither of our salads came with a fork so it took some time to get those so we could eat. Service was okay but our server was clearly very overwhelmed and stressed -- running around the restaurant and just generally very flustered. I realize it was a busy lunch rush with some large parties but keeping your composure under stress is an important part of making guests feel welcome. I have always had this restaurant on my Yelp list so a good gf decided to bring me here for a birthday treat. I love a good treat and the ability to try out a new restaurant. The atmosphere is quite nice and cozy. We were immediately greeted up arrival and seated near the window in the front . I ordered the Caesar salad with added tomato and onion, alcoholic specialty drink (forgot the name), wings and Brussels sprouts. Our service was great as we were checked on frequently. The love the Baltimore signage as it represents our city so well. I toured the upstairs and located an upstairs, outdoor seating and the bar area which is great for private parties. Wicked Sister might officially be my new favorite spot to eat. I'm not even exaggerating--the wings may be some of the best in Baltimore that I've had. The burger was amazing, and honestly, everything we tried was just on point. The place is clean, the bartenders are great, and the atmosphere is chill but still has a good energy. Maybe my review would bump up to 4 stars of we had experienced the brunch. We met family for lunch here on a holiday Monday. The crab dip and the Brussels sprouts were a great start to the meal, and we all shared. Hearty portions. My husband ordered a beer that was flat, so he opted for something else. We waited just over an hour from when we initially ordered and our main meals to come out. We picked at the appetizers, but waited such a long time for our entrees. Servers came to the table twice with food for other groups and we were disappointed. I ordered the kale (harvest?) salad with salmon added. The kale pieces were massive and kind of hard to eat. The salmon was over cooked and had a but of a burn flavor. The flatbread and my husband's sandwich were both fine, but we were underwhelmed after such a long wait. Service was embarrassingly bad. We were seated, got water. Server took drink and appetizer orders. Only 2/3 appetizers came, no share plates. The drinks never came. 20 minutes later, still no share plates, drinks, or other acknowledgment. I asked several food runners/bus people for a pitcher of water, which we finally got. Server finally came and apologized, claiming the bar lost the drink ticket. Had to come back and tell us the restaurant doesnt carry the soda my child ordered. I don't blame them for not carrying it, I do blame the server for not knowing and for not telling us for more than 30 minutes. Eventually we just ordered main courses and asked him to rush the kid food so we could get out of there. As an "apology" he comped a $14 drink, but made sure to add his 20% gratuity. We never saw or heard from a manager. I worked in the service industry for more than a decade. It was extremely obvious that the server completely forgot about us (or decided we weren't worth his time), lied about it, and was worried we wouldn't tip. The audacity of adding auto gratuity to a 5 person table where he forgot our drink order, forgot our appetizer order, forgot to give us plates and silverware, and forgot to take our entree order is the antithesis of hospitality. The Mac and cheese is good. If you get it to go you can get your own water, your own drinks, your own plates, and your own silverware without paying 20% for the privilege of being ignored. read more

This place not only had it, but offered different flavors, which was a nice surprise. We came pretty late in the evening when it was pretty empty, and we were seated right away. Right when we entered, we were greeted by the hostess and she sat us down. Our server, Baxter, was great and friendly. I really enjoyed the Saffron Sunset cocktail ($16). The saffron flavor was unique and really pulled through with a slight sweetness from the honey and tartness from the passion fruit. Hugo Spritz ($14) was refreshing as well. I came during restaurant week where two brunch items were $25, I really enjoyed the Deviled Egg Trio. each egg had a different topping. There was curry seasoning, smoked salmon with capers and lump crab with old bay. All three tasted great my favorite was the lump crab deviled egg. The Summer Berry Tart was also very delicious. It was a puff pastry with fresh berries, mascarpone cream and drizzled with honey. It was a perfect balance between rich, tart and sweet - although they could've added more berries. The ambience of Wicked Sisters is very casual and was really giving brunch vibes. They have an outdoor patio and two floors of indoor seating. Heads up this place is not in the greatest area, street parking only, but the inside of the place is very modern. Not only was the inside very clean but it had cute quotes around the different spaces. The service was great with our large group of people and all of our dishes came out at the same time. Sadly, Wicked Sisters has been in a steady state of decline since I've started going there some 8(?) years ago. Today, went there for happy hour with 4 coworkers and were met with nothing but negativity and snarky service staff. Waitress and bartender (separately) were both very very unprofessional and unfriendly, pretty close to rude. If we wanted snark and to be where people didn't want us, we would have gone to DC. That attitude doesn't cut it in Baltimore, much less Hampden. We decided pretty quickly to go elsewhere. Luckily, it's Hampden, there are MANY MANY other options and I encourage you all to pick one of them. We went across the street to Papi's and had a great time: friendly service, and even a better happy hour special selection. Even the atmosphere was more inviting and less drab. Win -win. Managers, owners - if you're reading this, get your staff pulling in the right direction. For what it's worth, it'll be a rare day we decide to go back, and we're of course taking our $200+ dollar happy hour money elsewhere. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the service was a major letdown. Upon arrival, it took forever for the bartender to greet us or even bring water. Eventually, I had to go track her down just to place our order. To make things worse, I didn't even receive all of the food I ordered. The bartender never checked in on me during the entire meal--not once. No follow-up to see if everything was okay or if I needed anything else. I had to ask someone else to get her attention just so I could pay and leave. I understand things were busy on a Friday night but you walked back and forth past me and even checked on the couple beside me. The wings were pretty good , and I did enjoy the Hugo Spritz. I would have liked to try the other food I ordered but never received. The atmosphere was lively, which is about the only positive. Note on Parking: no parking lot but there is plenty of parking on the street. We made reservations on a Saturday for brunch and got seated right away. While service and drinks here were great, the food was quite disappointing. For drinks I had a Hampden Sundown mocktail which had a blood orange flavor to it. We got the jumbo cinnamon bun to share. I would skip this. The menu described it as topped with berries (plural), and what we got was an overheated cinnamon bun clearly straight from the microwave. The bun tasted stale in texture and flavor. The icing stuck to the plate and the only berry we got was half a strawberry on top. The shrimp and grits was mediocre. The texture of the shrimp was off and felt overcooked. My Breakfast Bowl wasn't bad but nothing to write home about. Overall the service and vibe of the restaurant was fine, the drinks were great, but their brunch food was a rather mediocre experience. For starters. I haven't had a place in Hampden care about keeping things as gluten free as Wicked Sisters did. I'm so impressed and so happy. Almost the entire menu either was or could be made gluten free in a way that was celiac safe. The charcuterie board? Banging. Jalapeño popper? Holy crap. The mussels? Dreamy. I literally forgot to get pictures because I was SO. EXCITED. And I review food frequently. I never forget. The drinks were also so good, the seasonal lemonade is such a fun touch. And you can get it spiked! They have mocktails, which I appreciate as a mostly sober human. And it wasn't overly sweet which so many places mocktails can be. The shrimp and grits were amazing. So smoky and creamy. And my partner loved their salad. I wish we had room for dessert. We're definitely coming back and coming back soon. First impression was not good as we stood there for a solid 10 minutes waiting to be acknowledged and sat. We ordered the Mac N' Cheese with Bacon and the Karma Burger with a side salad. I had my eye on the Curry bowl, however, thought that it was quite pricy once I added tofu ($9 upcharge), however, the table next to us got the bowls and they were large enough to feed a small family. Portions are quite large. Our food was tasty. Service was slow however. It took a long time to be sat, to order and to get our bill. This place can get pretty busy depending on the time you go. My first time visiting was on a Friday night and the place was pretty crowded. However we had a reservation so we were able to be seated right away. The place has acute exposed brick wall look with multiple art on the wall. Sitting at the bar for dinner provided a really fun and totally Baltimore experience. We chatted with our neighbors, the Os were on the TV, and we got to watch the bartenders joke with each other and deal with some weird leaks behind the bar. The food was also quite good. The mussels came with what amounted to cheesy French bread pizza for dipping, not the normal toasted bread. The burger was really good, unexpectedly so - smoky and flame grilled. We made it "insane," which adds an onion ring and some sauces, and to be honest, the burger itself was so flavorful, the toppings were irrelevant. We went Sunday July 20th for brunch without reservations - hoping we would get lucky. We were able to get a table right away, the hostess greeted us promptly. Our server, Kendall, was wonderful and attentive. Was eager to give recommendations and also asked about allergies. We got the crème brûlée donuts to start - there were 2 of them and they are RICH! My husband had to finish my second half but they were delicious. I got an espresso martini which was delicious and the breakfast plate which comes with eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes and fruit - basic breakfast but good! My husband got the steak tacos and I believe that is what I would try next time - overfilled with steak, eggs and pickled onions and a sauce that was absolutely delicious! My only complaint, if there had to be one, is lack of parking...but that is all of Baltimore and city life. They do have valet for $7 though so that is an option. read more

There was four of us and we did a reservation at 1 but we were able to be sat right away. We were upstairs. We didn't leave until 3. It was just so long for the service. And the donuts we ordered, not pictured, were not good. Peach Bellini drink wasn't bad. Kinda wish it was cold though. I didn't finish mine. It was meh. Shrimp and grits were good! Great flavor! Steak tacos were awesome!! But it so needed the sauce. Otherwise not good. Wings were great. I think it was an old bay or honey old bay. Didn't even need the sauce to go with it. Stuffed French toast was good!! Not too much or sweet. Chicken and waffles was meh. Waffles was good. Chicken was not. It was bland and had no flavor. Was it seasoned? If it was with waffles and syrup it was good. Otherwise, no. I don't even think there was salt and pepper on it. Then we ordered crème brûlée donuts that were two and we were gonna split between the four of us. Those were horrible. Cutting into the donut could tell it had been microwaved because the cream inside was just a round ball. Bad sign number one. It was way too hot. We tried to eat and it was hard. Like stale but had been heated up in microwave to hopefully counteract the staleness. Which also explains the cream. I couldn't finish my half because it was so hard. It wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't for the mediocre service as well. People were coming in after us and left before us. We were there for 2 hours total. For four people. We got our food within half an hour and the next hour and a half spent waiting and waiting and waiting. Waiting for donuts, waiting for a server to maybe come, waiting for a box, waiting for check, waiting for something. It was not busy. It was not crowded. There were a few people but not too many.
