My fiancé and I were on a mission to find a restaurant week location to celebrate our engagement. We landed at The Collins. The restaurant ambiance was upscale and inviting. Our server Julia led us on culinary journey. First stop was an seafood appetizer smorgasbord. Next came the main courses baby back ribs and prime rib. I wish I could create a Time Machine to go back 11 hours so I could experience the first bite of the prime rib. Let's just say it slapped. Possibly one of our favorite parts was the limited time dessert. I don't want to steal the surprise. Trust me when I say ask for the Sticky Toffee Pudding. If you don't get it you are a fool. Came here for a quick lunch take-out as I was staying and working nearby. The noodle salad was fantastic - very refreshing, good number of shrimp and a hearty portion size that made a filling lunch. Everything was cooked well. I also got the cauliflower side - I enjoyed the tahini dressing but only got a few pieces (like 3?) of cauliflower. I'll get the bad over quickly. We've given up on ordering the filet mignon which we'd order 75% of the time at any other place. That said we really like this place a lot The happy hour menu is fantastic. The bar tenders are friendly and have amazing memories for our likes and dislikes. Seated immediately with smiles and good seats. A little noisy. Drink orders taken. I asked for a recommendation and was only given the answer of "this is what is most popular." Martini, nothing special. Spicy Margaritas, better than average, not too sweet, a plus for me. Server, drop dead gorgeous, prob a model, confessed she was new, which became evident throughout the night although she was always kind and gracious. Her timing was not perfect, she messed up one thing on my order which was quickly and elegantly corrected (although not comped). Oddly, the food runners throughout the night dropped everything off, from drinks to plates, at random spots on the table which seemed odd considering they must have a POS system indicating table positions??? Slightly annoying and amateur considering the ambiance and the price point. Oysters were nicely presented, above average, sauces were, meh. Mother loved her very large "small" Caesar. They gave us side plates that were hot. Not good for oysters or a salad. Amateur. Mom's Short Rib Mac n Cheese was excellent, although needed a little salt (as did most things). Wife's blackened tuna was also superb, but the plating seemed unbalanced as it came with a beautiful "herb" salad (arugula) including cherry tomatoes and then a "salad" of "vine ripe" tomatoes. My Rotissiere Chicken unfortunately did not look anything like the picture on their website (haha, I know better). It was pretty good, seemed like it was brined in something that had a little sweetness to it which I don't really like, but ok. Was clearly par or pre cooked and then reheated, did not come out piping hot for sure. The "Pommery Mustard" was a joke, just don't bother. I didn't get the blisterd tomatoes as advertised. I had asked for a small "club salad" as an add-on (because it was listed as an option on the menu, and this is what our server messed up on), and the ingredients were great, but the dressing and blue cheese on it were way overpowering that I could only eat half of it). The spaghetti squash which was initially forgotten but brought out upon request, was PERFECT! It was the highlight of my night! Whoever made it needs to make everything else, or, needs to pay the same amount of attention to the rest of the food. I shared it with everyone else. The glass of old vine Zin that I had was overchilled...... I just can't..... They gave us a wonderful piece of chocalate mousse cake for mom's birthday which was surprisingly good and very nice of them. We left happy and satisfied!! First impression here was beautiful decor and friendly staff. Started with the Brussel Sprouts - it's a must. We also had the oysters, flown in from Washington state. Delicious! Dinner - Kids meals, they opted for the grilled shrimp and it was a great portion for my 6yo. My 10yo wishes there were more than 4 pieces of shrimp so it worked out that she ate off of sis's plate. I had the wild mushroom lasagna and hubby ordered the rotisserie chicken. The presentation for both entrees were trendy and everything tasted as good as it looked! The chicken was juicy, and the side spaghetti squash was perfectly light. Didn't leave him feeling stuffed or heavy. The lasagna was savory so the salad was a nice pairing. Libations? We decided to hit this place for dinner during restaurant week. Reservations are highly recommended. There is parking but you may have to walk across the parking lot so be prepared. We had reservations on the patio at 6:30 pm and we were seated after we had time to order drinks at the bar. Our waiter was very personable and interacted with us a number of times during the meal. We ordered off the restaurant week menu. Unfortunately, the y were having problems with the prime rib so they substituted short ribs, which I ordered. It was good but Gayl B, after tasting it, decided she preferred it to her pork chop, so we swapped. I liked the pork chop but I thought it was a little overly breaded. For my fist course, I ordered the ham steak and egg which is a total winner and highly recommended. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse pie, which was also spectacularly scrumptious. My Cabernet Sauvignon was a perfect complement to my meal. Parking can be tricky and you may be relegated to the far side of the parking lot. There is usually parking behind the restaurant. I first discovered this restaurant 2 years ago, and it quickly became our family's favorite, and still remains our favorite today! We come here because the service is absolutely amazing, always consistent and friendly! You can tell how well the staff is trained! Everyone teams up, and sincerely cares about your dining experience! The food is obviously the second reason we come! You will always have incredible prepared food, the menu will sure to please everyone in your party! A must try is their Biltmore Chicken tenders, crispy, tender, and full of flavor. I think they take 3days to make, so it pays off! You won't be disappointed. The general manager Kiela(sp?) I think that was her name, came by our table and made friendly conversation, and made sure our meal met our expectations and of course it was perfection! Our server Krista was amazing as well, so attentive, had great recommendations, I tried the twisted noodle salad with shrimp,( her recommendation) so glad I tried it, this could easily become my favorite thing to eat, the tangy dressing, is to die for! Like I said before,, the service and food here is about as good as it gets! Love this place! They have an awesome Happy Hour menu and our server, Hayley, made some great recommendations. My husband had the charred shrimp risotto which was on the HH menu and I had the lump crab cake and greens from the regular menu. The crab cake is so flavorful and the aioli adds an extra level or flavor to it. The side greens with the Green Goddess dressing was so fresh and flavorful as well. A fabulous restaurant tucked in the NW corner of a shopping center. Dined during "Happy Hour" and the Margarita's we ordered certainly made us "Happy"! The Sauza Hacienda Reposado Tequila is now my favorite. This tequila along with a slightly sweet and not so sour Margarita mix made for a smooth tasting drink. Our entrees of tender Baby Back Ribs and Braised Sort Ribs added another level of happiness. I substituted the cashew slaw for Spaghetti Squash w/lemon butter. I've been here twice (invited by friends both times) and it's good but not great. Food is too salty or rich or bland. Just off pretty often. It's got a nice lunch ambiance and dinner is crazy loud. Once we arrived the hostess was very friendly and asked if we were celebrating an anniversary....even asked how many years. Once seated the waiter was very friendly and also recognized our anniversary. From the happy hour menu we ordered the onion dip and the whiskey and orange cocktail. We were seated promptly for our reservation just before 6 PM. The bartender took our drink orders shortly after, and our waitress, Savannah, took our appetizer and dinner orders a few minutes later. My girlfriend received her drink around 6:10, but I did not receive mine until 6:35, despite asking three separate times within that 30-minute period, along with requests for water. As I was about to leave due to the lack of service, our appetizer arrived, prompting us to stay. Waters finally came after I asked a fourth time, from someone who was neither the waitress nor the bartender, about 40 minutes into our visit. Despite my date receiving her drink, it became diluted as she waited for me to get mine. The food was indeed great but difficult to enjoy without any water or drink refills. I've never had to request water and a drink four times at establishments with much lower ratings than The Collins. It's disheartening to see a restaurant with such potential be brought down by poor service. read more

This was my first time trying out this restaurant. It wasn't too busy for a Saturday night and walk ins are welcomed. We ordered a few appetizers from their happy hour menu and all of them were pretty tasty. My favorite was between the Mac and cheese and the risotto. Happy hour is daily from 4 to 6 pm. I thought prices were reasonable. I almost didn't order it because I thought, "it's not a pizza place so I better not." I was sorely mistaken. It is one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten and I've eaten A LOT!! To start, we had the PECAN WOOD-FIRED ARTICHOKES ocean mist farms . parmigiano-reggiano . citrus aioli for $13. We received 3 half grilled artichokes, to perfection, not to mention the citrus aioli was killer! Next we had the THE BISTRO BURGER asadero . vine tomatoes . red onion . dressed arugula . dijon . mayo . noble brioche (sub gluten free bun) $15 This, basic burger is nothing but basic. Cooked to perfection, even after delivery and tasty! Although full, we didn't stop there... We also ordered some BABY BACK RIBS slow smoked . thin bbq sauce . grill finished . shoestring potatoes . collins cashew slaw $26. The ribs were good, fall off the bone good, but honestly, not very meaty. Also would have loved an extra side of the tasty bbq sauce it was made with. The slaw, was really good, even put some on my burger and that was good! Lastly, we also tried the MARGHERITA san marzano tomato . common ground burrata . torn basil . maldon sea salt .. cracked pepper . evoo $15 on the gluten free crust. I found the pizza too salty this time, no cracked pepper or torn basil on top, which was a real bummer, because margarita pizzas are designed to simple and the basil would have made this wow. The Fish sandwich could have tasted slightly better and the coleslaw on the brioche and pickles somehow did not go very well with the Fish.
