The host was accompanied by his son an obnoxious brat of maybe 10 who keep pretending to throw a drink in our face while we were waiting for a table. The second time I told him how rude he was being and my husband reached out and touched him with his cane. Dad (the host) said he hit him but actually he touched him to say stop. Kind'of on the outskirts of town and near some pretty parks and farmland. I really liked the quieter location and views from the back patio while we ate. They're also dog-friendly and let people's dogs on the patio. I love that they have a rotating Avocado toast on the menu and the day we were there it had brisket and sounded delicious. They have breakfast and lunch options and a ton of sides with a bunch of interesting Benedicts that sounded delicious. I ordered the egg salad BLT which was delicious and huge with the cheese grits on the side and thought it was excellent. I got a croissant and should've gotten the toast bc my husband ordered a breakfast sandwich on toast that was yummy. Coffee was OK but not excellent - a bit too watered down for my taste. Parking was not ideal. I would recommend carpooling if possible. We had to wait until our entire party arrived to be seated. With a busy morning, full parking lot and baby stroller, that was a little inconvenient. This was my second time being here. The food is wonderful! My husband got the Texan benedict. I didn't care for it, BUT I recognize that it was a great dish. They had a caramelized onion apple jam on top of the benedict which was phenomenal for what it was, it just didn't strike my fancy. I got the waffle special and it was blueberry lemon. The last time I came it was a raspberry compote with a pistachio crumble of some sort and I almost DIED from happiness. The tartness was perfection, and the pistachio topping rocked my world. The blueberry lemon was good, but I love things ridiculously tart and didn't taste the lemon through the blueberry like I wanted to, but that honestly is just a me thing. The gouda grits had such a pungent cheese flavor that I always seek out in "cheesy" dishes. I'm usually disappointed, but these grits do NOT disappoint. The service was amazing and the waiters and management work together to being out everything to every table as soon as possible. The food came quickly and was hot off the grill. The restaurant itself is home-y and farmhouse style, which is cute. The tables are small but you can make it work with four people if you get rid of all of the extra things sitting in the middle. The Crestwood Barn came heavily recommended by family members. We live about 2 miles away, so we decided to finally step in for lunch. The Barn closes at 1:30 daily and you can have both breakfast and lunch from open to close. This place is very charming. This is an older "barn" but it's such a cute atmosphere and there's tons of seating and decor. It's normally so busy on the weekends that I haven't been here in ages. But I had an early blood donation appointment at the nearby Red Cross Donation Center, so I figured I'd drive by and see. The parking lot was light at 8:30 so I came on in (packed by 9:15 though, so if you want quiet and an easy time finding a parking spot, I'd recommend a weekday). Plenty of helpful staff walking around and keeping cups filled with piping hot coffee, which is great on a chilly morning. I normally get one of the eggs Benedict's, which are amazing, but today I felt like more comfort food so I tried the biscuit and sausage gravy for the first time. It was pretty darned good.
