Pancake side

There was a lot for parking. Service is excellent. Prompt and attentive. There's even a store upstairs. Food was good. Hash browns. 9/10. Crispy. Tasty. Sourdough. 8/10. Already buttered and toasted well. Eggs over medium. 9/10. Well cooked. OJ. 7/10. Solid. Sausage. 6/10. Good. I like it cooked more well done. Taste was fine. Bacon. 6/10. I like it crispier. But didn't request it that way either. Pancakes. 7/10. It was good. Nothing that stands out. A great breakfast overall. Service was excellent and recommend.

We're traveling and it's easy to say this has been the best food place so far. Dog friendly patio, great hard working staff. The food was rich in flavor and very tasteful.

First impression of The Barn? Absolutely irresistible... From the moment we walked in, the customer service was top tier. The host greeted us with genuine warmth, friendly, upbeat, and welcoming in a way that instantly set the tone, customer service is everything to me and that's what stood out to me especially for first impressions. The vibe? Unmatched. The entire staff moved like a well oiled machin...very supportive, family oriented, and clearly proud of what they do as a team. Now let's talk about the food... hunnti, it did NOT disappoint. Everything came out prompt, made to order, fresh, and packed with a kick of flavor. You can taste the care in every bite. Kudos to chef. Yes, it was busy, but in the best way.... The energy in the atmosphere makes you want to stay and soak it all in, but also respecting the flow because this spot is in demand!!! If you haven't tried The Barn yet, go. Don't overthink it. You will not be disappointed!

Stopped in for a quick brunch after morning kid activities and glad we did! We got in the parking lot which had a decent amount of space and snagged the last spot open. On their site you can get on the waiting list which we did and it said 45 min wait. We got in after about 10 mins. The host was super nice and our server Colleen was a doll! We had a good time with some other people sitting near us and the food was so good and fresh! I had the special French toast which was a waffle in fresh toast batter with a strawberry shortcake topping! My husband had the Texan with a fried egg instead of poached and the Gouda grits. Sooooo good! It's the cutest place, atmosphere was super chill.

The Spicy Bloody Mary....wow!

Met up with 11 girlfriends for a late lunch, we were seated right away and our waitress was fantastic! She told us their specials, got our drinks (may I recommend the spicy Bloody Mary, it's excellent!). I had the BLT, very good...but the highlight...the carrot cake! HOLY CRAP, think it might be the best I have ever had....and I forgot to take a picture!!! So now I HAVE to go back....The Barn is very cute, quaint and all of the food was wonderful, they are only open till 130pm so plan accordingly....

This was our first visit to The Barn! Best thing we did was join the online waiting list via Google on a busy Sunday morning, highly recommend so you can sit right away as the inside seating area is cozy! We were greeted by Josh who was incredibly personable and made us feel very welcome, and we were shown to or table around shortly after arriving. All the staff were wonderful and very attentive! We ordered the Barn Breakfast and the Strata, both were wonderful! Food arrived 5 minutes after we ordered so we were extremely happy. We will definitely be back!

This is a cute breakfast spot with a great brunch menu I found online and wanted to try before we headed out to the Ozark on our family trip. Kind'of on the outskirts of town and near some pretty parks and farmland. I really liked the quieter location and views from the back patio while we ate. They're also dog-friendly and let people's dogs on the patio. I love that they have a rotating Avocado toast on the menu and the day we were there it had brisket and sounded delicious. They have breakfast and lunch options and a ton of sides with a bunch of interesting Benedicts that sounded delicious. I ordered the egg salad BLT which was delicious and huge with the cheese grits on the side and thought it was excellent. I got a croissant and should've gotten the toast bc my husband ordered a breakfast sandwich on toast that was yummy. Coffee was OK but not excellent - a bit too watered down for my taste. We tried one of their daily pastries and had a white chocolate raspberry scone which was pretty good. There is a small gift shop upstairs with some gifts and cute items you can browse while you wait or after you eat for gifts or tchotchkes and they had mugs for sale.

My daughter's favorite brunch option. Service is always impeccable and we love sitting outside on the patio. They have gluten-free options for my daughter. She really enjoys the gluten-free French toast and potatoes. I normally get the avocado toast special of the day. They have great homemade desserts. I usually get one to go and take some home for my husband.

Located 6 mins from Kirkwood, the Barn offers a farm- house ambience for a honey brunch. I love sitting next to the museum area where colorful flowers are planted. Service is attentive. The server provided great suggestions to the menu items. You can't go wrong with either the crawfish or crabcake Benedict. They offered a pretty generous portion of the "protein", which is a pleasant surprise. The coffee or tea options are alright. No latte or espresso option is available. Though, they offer cocktails. I will come back to the Barn!

Crab cake eggs Benedict

I got the Mexican mimosa, Boo got the regular mimosa. I liked the salt rim! Boo ordered the Barn Breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, and the barn browns, and the biscuit stole the show--large, fluffy, and "not dry like your standard biscuit." I got the eggs Benedict with the crab cake, forgot the name of it, and the barn browns with sausage gravy. My food was very good, but I should've not ordered the bread pudding for dessert, looking back. It was good, but I'm not a fan of whipped cream or walnuts. Only taking one star away because the atmosphere was loud and chaotic. I know that's good for the restaurant (being busy), but it made for slightly strained conversation and a kind of tense mood.

The Texan Eggs Benedict

We were greeted in the morning with tons of smiles! Such a pleasant brunch experience and super homey. Ordered the Texan Eggs Benedict (MUST ORDER) and the barn breakfast. Lord that eggs benedict with short rib was beyond delish. Got bacon, sausage and a side pancake. Everything came out hot and fast (great for kids). Thanks to the energetic & fun host who made our daughter smile the whole time.

Loved the food and the amazing service! The host was very kind and made us feel like royalty. We had the quiche, barn burger, barn breakfast, special French toast, and kids pancakes. Everything was prepared perfectly and arrived quickly. We finished our meal off by going up to the general store to see all of the beautiful handmade creations.

Barn breakfast with sausage links and hash browns

What a cute diner ambiance! Hubby and I stopped and ate breakfast after locating them. His coffee was strong and satisfying; my iced tea served with a lemon wedge topped it off! It was cool in this establishment and the metal tables were cold, too. Most patrons eating had their coats and jackets on.We each chose the Barn breakfast with fresh and hot food; he had the eggs over easy with hash browns and sausage links. We sampled the biscuit and gravy; it was ok but not outstanding. I had scrambled eggs with smoked ham and 1/2 order of French toast. All our food was delicious except the crumbly biscuit and gravy. The service was outstanding and prompt. Overall, a new "off the beaten path" restaurant with delicious food choices. I had to get a piece of their homemade coconut cream pie! It was incredible! Next visit I must try their coconut cake,

Songbird makes great use of its space and should be near the top of your STL brunch list. A reasonably-sized (not-overwhelming) menu, great coffee, delicious cocktails, quick, attentive service, and undeniably delicous food. I took off on a redeye this morning (coffee courtesy of Blueprint), and landed on the Farm Sampler: two scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, sourdough toast, sliced avocado and sauteed shiitake mushrooms. Phenomenal flavors and textures. Toast is typically an afterthought for me, but the buttery crunch of the sourdough has to be spotlighted. The Bee's Knees cocktail was also a wonderfully refreshing prelude to the approaching STL summer. The time has come, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say: wake up, reserve, enjoy.

I was very excited to try them but left knowing I would not return. I waited 40 minutes on a weekday morning for a bar seat for one, standing because all the waiting area seats were taken. The hostess/waitress was very nice when she got to me, but you could tell that the amount of customers was simply too much to handle. Now, this was okay - I should have made a reservation, and it's not the staff's fault they were overwhelmed. However, the service once I sat down was patchy, delayed and distracted. I had to remind different servers of my presence, multiple times. I was willing to overlook this if the food had been fantastic, but unfortunately, their most popular item, the combo breakfast sandwich, was so incredibly heavy. The first bite was crispy, oily and fatty deliciousness, but by the third bite it was simply too rich. The sweet overtone of the honey was lovely but did not cut through the grease. By the time I finished half, I understood why several diners had left the other half uneaten. My personal preference is for a fresh, umami yet balanced sandwich that does not make me feel queasy after finishing it. This was not the sandwich for me. There was a long delay after I finished eating for them to bring me the check. My whole meal took around 2.5 hours. I had arrived starving and, I like to think, with an open mind. These are my honest, unfiltered observations. It is wonderful that so many people want to try their food and that their new space is bigger. Their decor, glassware and menu were cute and tasteful. I also love that they grew from a farmers market food stall and that they source their ingredients locally. With their level of popularity, I think they should focus on preserving the quality of their service and food.

Amazing restaurant, with amazing staff…read more I went here with my kids for an early fathers day breakfast. We made a reservation to this place. It said we were ninth in line. We thought we had to wait for a long time, but it actually went quick (like 5 minutes) when we got there. We did not realize this place had an upstairs, until our waiter guided us. This place looks very large on the inside compared to what it looks like on the outside. The restaurant also had an rustic atmosphere. With exposed pipes, rusted decor, and 80's memorabilia on the shelf. We ordered coffee here, and one of them came in a Christmas cup. Even though it was six months away. My wife chuckled on how they served her coffee in a Christmas cup. Mine came in a plain white cup. But I still excessively chuckled on how funny the menu is and the staff are. The staff are very attentive to how your food tastes and make plenty of funny jokes with you. They also are very descriptive on what the specials on pancakes and omelettes are. As well as being very honest. I ordered the Benny's Got Beef Or Belly with Brisket. I know, long name. I watched the weather while my food was being prepared, and occasionally looking at the PBS TV nearby. My wife was drawing with my 11 year old daughter (and writing "secret messages") as their food was being prepped and prepared. When my food finally came out, I immediately took a bite. The brisket was very juicy and tender. And the eggs were delicious on the side. I tried this place several years ago. Was still the same good taste that I remember when I took my wife to this place. Very amazing place. Will come again.

Instead, we took time to get ready and I even ran a few errands before checking in with the host. When I did check in, he let me know there would be another 15-20 minutes before a table was ready. It was a chilly day and sort of drizzly the day we went, so we had to hang out inside to wait for the table which was a little awkward, but we made it work. Once our table was ready, we had a server who brought over water and coffee right away. She even told us about the specials for the day and my friend and I were sold with the poached pear pancakes! After a few minutes, our server came back and we placed our orders and also asked for some refils of our drinks. When the food was delivered to the table, it was hot and fresh and looked amazing. My friend and I shared the pancakes and were so happy to be able to sample both kinds. While my other friend went with a more healthy meal of eggs with bacon and an english muffin. Our server came over to check in on us a few times and made sure we were good. When it was time to pay the bill, we took care of htat quickly and were on our way. Honestly, the wait sucks for this spot, but the food delivers everytime and I recommend visiting for brunch if you are in the area. Just be sure to get on the waitlist or else you will be told a crazy wait time upon arrival.

The Fleur-de-Lys is the epitome of a luxurious getaway. Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!
