Visited for brunch today, 8/17/26. I had heard good things during my time living in the area almost a decade ago but had never been, so I decided to give it a try finally. Overall rating 3.5/5, even though I can't give half stars here on Yelp. One star for ambiance/vibes. This is a gorgeous, quaint little eatery in a lush area of Saint Louis County, right near Grant's Trail. One star for service. My server was a kind lady who made sure I was always doing well and kept my water glass topped off. One star for going above and beyond--I ordered gooey butter cake as a sweet treat and apparently whomever cut the slices made them too small so they gave me two but only charged me for one. Half a star for the gooey butter cake and espresso martini. Neither was the best instance of either I've ever had but they were the best part of the actual meal. Unfortunately, I think I made the wrong entree choice. I went with the biscuit (singular) and gravy and a side of sausage links. The biscuit is described as "jumbo" but didn't feel much bigger than what I'd consider a regular-sized biscuit. It also wasn't nearly as fluffy as I would have liked and was quite tough and hard at points, nearly requiring the use of a knife to cut it. The gravy was relatively flavorless and wasn't improved much by either salt or pepper. The sausage links were passable. I'm willing to give the shop another shot (and order something different) once I try some other brunch places on my list but I was a little disappointed on this visit because I wanted to like my food more. read more

The food here is always delicious. I've seen another review in here saying they felt rushed. The place is extremely popular and not very big if the outside patio isn't open. Older folks who want to sit around and take up a table for 2 hours sipping on a cup of coffee this isn't the place for you. This is an adorable brunch spot with lots of character!! We visited here with some friends and were glad they got a reservation. The restaurant was packed and had a line (for good reason)! Once seated, our server checked on us frequently and listed their specials soundly. I opted for the sandwich special of the day, the Monte cristo, and my partner got one of the Benedict's. We split the special waffles of the day, the French toast waffle. We also both got a good drink with our meal. The Monte Cristo was perfectly sweet and savory. Fast service, we had our name on the list but chose to sit on the patio on a cool morning. They had plenty of heaters so not a big deal. Actually we got warm! 2 servers working all the tables so plenty of attention and food was fast!! I also love to pay at your table with the server and machine. Patio was nice. Park near by and historic sites. Yea the construction is not pretty but they provide a QR code as I'm sure they get asked a million times. My mistake was not getting the Belgian waffles made into French toast. The option the day I was there was not a fan of so I skipped it. But I'll be back!! Stopped in for a quick brunch after morning kid activities and glad we did! We got in the parking lot which had a decent amount of space and snagged the last spot open. On their site you can get on the waiting list which we did and it said 45 min wait. We got in after about 10 mins. The host was super nice and our server Colleen was a doll! We had a good time with some other people sitting near us and the food was so good and fresh! This is a cute breakfast spot with a great brunch menu I found online and wanted to try before we headed out to the Ozark on our family trip. Kind'of on the outskirts of town and near some pretty parks and farmland. I really liked the quieter location and views from the back patio while we ate. They're also dog-friendly and let people's dogs on the patio. I love that they have a rotating Avocado toast on the menu and the day we were there it had brisket and sounded delicious. They have breakfast and lunch options and a ton of sides with a bunch of interesting Benedicts that sounded delicious. I ordered the egg salad BLT which was delicious and huge with the cheese grits on the side and thought it was excellent. I got a croissant and should've gotten the toast bc my husband ordered a breakfast sandwich on toast that was yummy. Coffee was OK but not excellent - a bit too watered down for my taste. We tried one of their daily pastries and had a white chocolate raspberry scone which was pretty good. Located 6 mins from Kirkwood, the Barn offers a farm- house ambience for a honey brunch. I love sitting next to the museum area where colorful flowers are planted. Service is attentive. The server provided great suggestions to the menu items. You can't go wrong with either the crawfish or crabcake Benedict. Boo ordered the Barn Breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, and the barn browns, and the biscuit stole the show--large, fluffy, and "not dry like your standard biscuit." This was my second time being here. The food is wonderful! My husband got the Texan benedict. I didn't care for it, BUT I recognize that it was a great dish. They had a caramelized onion apple jam on top of the benedict which was phenomenal for what it was, it just didn't strike my fancy. I got the waffle special and it was blueberry lemon. The last time I came it was a raspberry compote with a pistachio crumble of some sort and I almost DIED from happiness. The tartness was perfection, and the pistachio topping rocked my world. The blueberry lemon was good, but I love things ridiculously tart and didn't taste the lemon through the blueberry like I wanted to, but that honestly is just a me thing. The gouda grits had such a pungent cheese flavor that I always seek out in "cheesy" dishes. I'm usually disappointed, but these grits do NOT disappoint. The service was amazing and the waiters and management work together to being out everything to every table as soon as possible. The food came quickly and was hot off the grill. The restaurant itself is home-y and farmhouse style, which is cute. The tables are small but you can make it work with four people if you get rid of all of the extra things sitting in the middle. The Crestwood Barn came heavily recommended by family members. We live about 2 miles away, so we decided to finally step in for lunch. The Barn closes at 1:30 daily and you can have both breakfast and lunch from open to close. This place is very charming. This is an older "barn" but it's such a cute atmosphere and there's tons of seating and decor. The service was excellent -- we didn't have a singular server but everyone who checked on us/took our order was extremely friendly & helpful. The food was really good. I got a Half & Half (with an Egg Salad BLT Sandwich & a cup of Loaded Potato Soup). It was delicious. Whoever thought of an Egg Salad BLT deserves a medal. My Mom loved her Half & Half as well, she got a delicious Chicken Salad Sandwich and a Harvest Sandwich. The offerings were varied. The New England clam chowder was rather bland and tasteless for my taste. The beef entree was extremely fatty. The bacon and sausage were delicious. The Mac and cheese was very tasty. The small hash brown medallions were clearly frozen and then deep fried. The breaded shrimp was good. The scrambled eggs were runny. The pastry offerings were very good and diversified. The biscuits and gravy looked good but I stuffed myself and was unable to try them. The food was okay and the atmosphere was charming. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place if you want to enjoy a slower meal with company. I went with two friends on a Sunday at 9am and the whole experience felt rushed from the beginning. I do think this was partly because you do not have a dedicated server which sounds nice in theory. We were asked if we were ready to order multiple times, by multiple people in just a few minutes. My friend was then asked if they could clear her plate at least 10 times because she was not actively eating. By the last time it was almost comical and she ended up apologizing to the server and asked for a few more minutes as she is a slower eater and takes breaks. Purchased a 50.00 gift card from restaurant at the restaurant with cash. Kept the receipt but when we tried to use it they said the card was not activated so it was worthless. We had to argue for almost 20 minutes until they came to their senses and activated the card. Plus, we had to spend another $30 on the breakfast that we planned to use the gift card for which they wouldn't accept at the time. This place does not understand. Came to this venue to enjoy a meal with the STL Ladies Brunch group. Great service from our wait staff and we appreciate the venue allowing us the day prior to put in a reservation for our group. I had to do a coffee & the Salty Dog drink since I could not make up my mind. Ordered the vegetarian options. For eggs Benedict with my side being Gouda grits.
