The Fleur-de-Lys is the epitome of a luxurious getaway. Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest rooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try! read more

Where do I begin? Absolutely fabulous, that's where! Wow, what a beautiful historical building. From arrival to departure was entirely 5-Stars. Mark, Leslie, and Lilly were all friendly and kind. Never, have I ever, stayed somewhere for the first time, and felt such a warm feeling of being home. Accommodations are historical, elegant, comfortable, and inviting. Service is wonderful kind in the most welcoming and caring way. Breakfast will exceed most high end restaurants. Location is perfect to venture out in any direction. We appreciate our stay at the Fleur-De-Lys Mansion, and highly recommend it as a destination stay spot whenever in St. Louis. read more

A home away from home in the middle of St. Louis! Close to everything and still you feel like you're a world away, from the stress and the bustle. Inn keepers and owners are attentive and hospital and will help you make the most of your time. Just in the jacuzzi to relax before sleeping on the most comfortable bed you've ever laid on! Breakfast is d-e-l-I-c-I-o-u-s. So stay in style and make the most of your time in STL. read more

Mark and Leslie are incredibly hospitable. The mansion is elegant, comfortable, and very clean. We appreciated the extra touches like complimentary reusable water bottles with a water station just outside the room; a towel warmer in the bathroom; and the most delicious breakfast. Highly recommend and would stay again. read more

We really enjoyed our stay here. The new owners Mark and Leslie couldn't have been more gracious. The place was immaculate and the bed extremely comfortable. I was very taken with the mansion and its history. Hard to believe staying in it that at one time it was considered blight. The location was perfect for our desire to explore a few of the areas breweries and brew pubs on our way through to Iowa. It was especially nice that right across the street is a plethora of parking that allowed us to park our trailer overnight as well, though the mansion has a private parking lot. I would stay here again for sure if I was coming through the area again. Oh and breakfast was incredible so it lives up to its Bed and Breakfast name. read more

Just spent the first night at FdL for 14 relationship anniversary with Mrs V (sans children!!!!) and it was LOVELY! Owners Mark and Leslie are very kind, attentive, and share a lot of history of the mansion and recommendations without being obtrusive. The mansion rooms are well appointed and I would highly recommend one of their food packages. We did chocolate and wine and both were amazing at a reasonable price considering the quality (which was good). Mark is a chef by trade (second career) and makes a darn good breakfast! There are complimentary snacks coffee and tea available 24/7. Location is great. The place has a bit of a dated feel and there are some repairs/upgrades needed here and there but keep in mind Dear Traveler: this couple has only owned the place for 15 months so I'm confident minor facelifts are coming. Only VERY minor complaint, and it's only from personal taste: food although delicious is a bit carb-heavy. This is no fault of the owners and they give you plenty of opportunity prior to your stay to mention any diet preferences, which I failed to do. So no knock on FdL at all. If in St. Louis visiting or need a nice staycation check this place out!! FYI they do a great job with COVID compliance, too read more

For our first foray into the B&B world, the Fleur-de-Lys Mansion was a perfect choice! Jerilyn welcomed us into the home even if we were a bit early. The house smelled like freshly baked goodies when we walked in. She gave us a tour and showed us our room. When we walked in, our smoke detector was chirping and her husband, Gary, quickly fixed the problem. The location is very nice and quiet, which works perfectly for a quiet retreat. It's not too far from downtown STL, so that was perfect, too. Jerilyn also had a lot of insight and suggestions of places for us to go. We got the Reservoir Tower room, and it was gorgeous. We left for a bit after we got our bags into the room, and when we came back, we put our robes on and headed to the hot tub. It took us a bit to get the jets to work, but when we did, it was exactly what we needed. Breakfast was delicious! We got to chatting with our fellow guests, and loved how Jerilyn spoke so openly about her faith. Thank you for having us and making our first experience into B&B's so wonderful! Can't wait to come back! read more

We had the most wonderful stay at Fleur-de-Lys. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The home is exquisitely elegant, yet cozy and comfortable. Or hosts Jerilyn and Gary were most accomodating. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous. Our stay was an 11 on a scale of 1-10. We will definitely be back when in the St Louis area. Fleur-de-Lys Mansion - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Saint Louis, Missouri

Fleur-De-Lys Mansion was voted #5 in the United States, and #7 bed and breakfast in the world by Tripadvisor.com. This privately owned home is located in the Compton Heights neighborhood across the street from Compton Hill Reservoir Park and a couple of houses down from the historical Magic Chef Mansion. With its quaint suites available for anywhere from $150 per night during the week and up to $295 per weekend, the money would be well spent for this nice little St. Louis stay-cation. Random amenities of the mansion - ** Every morning you get a fresh breakfast provided. ** Two of the suites have a jacuzzi in them. ** The beautiful bay windows and Victorian furnishings makes you feel like you are settled back at the turn of the century. ** Enjoy the back court yard, it has a little water fountain and reflection pond. Make this your home away from home. Even if just for one night. read more

The bad first which there wasn't really any, the TV isn't very big and from the jacuzzi you couldn't both see it. That said, they overall stay was AMAZING! The owners are new to the biz and if this is their beginning I can't wait to see what the place becomes. Elegant decor, super friendly hosts, from scratch breakfast! I loved the room and the bedding was soooo comfortable that we slept a lot whole more than intended lol. Definitely will be going back and would suggest that others give it a try. Waaay better than any chain could ever offer. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the Fleur-De-Lys Mansion. We stayed there for our wedding night this past weekend, and I am so glad my husband selected this place. Much better than a hotel for the occasion. We dropped off our overnight bags the night before, so we wouldn't be juggling luggage and checking in while all dressed up and caught up in the moment. We stayed in the Forest Park Suite, and it was absolutely wonderful. Soft sheets, comfy bed, big jacuzzi tub in the room, hot tub on the second floor. QUIET atmosphere! Waking up to a great breakfast was the perfect touch. My husband and I didn't take a honeymoon right away, so we only had this one night together, and I was able to enjoy every last minute of it. read more

My husband surprised me with a night here after visiting the Missouri Botanical Garden. It's a beautiful Victorian mansion. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The highlights for me were the super soft Pima cotton sheets; fluffy pillows; thick, soft towels; heated towel rack; and delicious breakfast. We are vegan, and they prepared a very satisfying four course meal for us. We didn't use it, but they have a hot tub near he deck that overlooks a gorgeous garden courtyard. One suite has a sunken bathtub. This was definitely one of my best B & B experiences ever, and I would love to stay there again! read more

The mansion is beautiful, the breakfast is amazing and our room was super comfortable. The inn keepers seem to have thought of everything and provided for our every need. The location is near many great restaurants and it's a short drive to the Fox Theater. I can't imagine a better place to stay in St. Louis! read more

My girlfriend and I stopped here to rest our heads during a long drive back to Memphis from Iowa after reading glowing reviews all over the place. I love Yelp, but Trip Advisor is a much better gauge at this point of how amazing this place is: 253 out of 257 reviewers to this point have given the Fleur-de-Lys five out of five stars. It's absolutely worth every one of them. The mansion itself is of the variety that you see being torn down nowadays more than you see being lovingly used and cared for. The doors are thick, heavy, and capped with double crown moldings and vent windows that are opened with long brass handles. The beautiful woodwork is intricate, ornate, plentiful, and flawless. The hardwood floors are substantial. Houses just aren't built like this anymore, and it's a pleasure just to be in one. Jan and Dave are as friendly and welcoming as their house is breathtaking. Jan made us an excellent dinner reservation that turned out to be exactly what we had wanted, and the breakfast we had in the morning was the most delicious gourmet breakfast I can ever remember having. They clearly know their city very well, and we were more than happy with everything they suggested for us. The Fleur-de-Lys has been recognized by several trade organizations, which they are quite proud of, and they're more than happy to tell you why a bed and breakfast is a far better choice than a hotel - just in case you hadn't realized that on your own. Our room was spacious and amply-appointed, despite being the least-expensive room available. Two particular touches that went above and beyond what we're used to were an iPod/iPhone radio dock and a heated towel rack - good luck finding either of those in a hotel at this price range. Many of the rooms have jacuzzis in them, as well. Ours didn't, but we wrapped ourselves in the provided plush bathrobes and walked down the hall to the separate Spa Room, which has a sizeable hot tub in it. We were the only guests on the night that we stayed, but just in case you're not, there is a lock on the Spa Room door. Even if we didn't end up loving St. Louis (which we did), we'd come back just to stay here again. It was exactly what we needed after a long day on the road. read more

The mansion itself was gorgeous, but the service was not what we expected. We were woken up at 8 am by a phone call from the owner saying she needed to get the keys early. This is after specifically saying that we would not be coming to breakfast by 9:30 am as we would have a late night. We were very upset by being woken up so early on the day after our wedding. We couldn't get back to sleep for 2 hours and ended up eventually just leaving with little sleep instead of waking up and having a nice breakfast before going to our post-wedding brunch. The B&B is expensive enough that I would have expected the service to match the facilities, which we didn't even get to enjoy. read more

This place is a special treat. The room was immaculate and spacious with a dreamy bed and quiet atmosphere. Robes, on demand coffee and tea and chocolate chip cookies and amaretto... not to mention probably the best indulgent breakfasts I have ever had, with homemade everything, bacon (need I say more?) and individualized service. I want to come back next time I am in St. Louis. read more

I feel so blessed that I was able to find this gem of a B&B. I had to go out to St Louis for a week long sales conference and was fortunate enough that the Fleur De Lys had room availability. Jerilyn made my stay in St Louis pleasurable. I had very long hectic days and knowing that I had this wonderful place to come back too made all the difference. The place was as beautiful as pictured. My room was clean and tidy. The linens smelled of lavender as promised. I had the most delicious breakfast every morning! I might add, not only did they take care of my food allergies (which the large hotel where the conference was did not) Jerilyn also got up early to have my breakfast ready by 7:00 am. Fleur De Lys optimizes the very essence of why people choose a Bed and Breakfast over chain hotels. Thank you for a wonderful week. I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast to everyone!! read more

Amazing bed and breakfast! The owners are sweet and kind with a heart for taking care of people. The mansion itself is gorgeous, with parking for guests and a tour when you arrive. The rooms are luxurious and invite rest and relaxation. Perfect for any special event or a quick getaway. The breakfasts were delicious and so bountiful! I have a dairy allergy and my preferences were inquired and where some people look at it as a chore, I was met with excitement to try new recipes! (Anyone with allergies--Ask for the Dutch pancake!!) My first staycation ever was here and it was exquisite! The house..no words..the ambiance...no words...the food....delicious( not sure if the new owners set out the decadent chocolate chunk cookies). I hope to stay there on my upcoming wedding night and am even treating my sister to a no kids weekend getaway for her birthday. The mansion is in proximity to my favorite St. Louis neighborhood, Lafayette Square and is a prime spot to check out local restaurants and entertainment. Last but not least, highly recommended for the best sleep of your life on the four poster bed. Get the view of the reservoir. read more

We could not more highly recommend this place. read more

Our stay here was a memorable one. For starters, the owner let me check my husband and I in the evening before our arrival since it was a surprise for him and we were limited on time the night of our stay with dinner reservations and symphony tickets. I also had a cheesecake for his birthday and she was kind enough to let me drop it off early. We ended up striking up a wonderful conversation. In our conversation I discovered she does EVERYTHING which means your stay is perfection. Working 70 hours a week she cleans the rooms, books the reservations, makes your breakfast (which by the way, was THE BEST BREAKFAST OF MY LIFE!!!!) and prepares fruit and cheese plates. She has such a humble servants heart. Please check this place out and thank the owner for her absolutely labor of love. Jerilyn was so welcoming. I've NEVER had better service. Our stay was peaceful and so wonderful. It was a perfect way to surprise my husband for his 40th birthday. Jerilyn, I will forever be grateful to you and count myself blessed to have gotten to know you. read more

All the perks of a B&B vs hotel stay. Delicious home-cooked food, interesting historic mansion, cozy details. The owners are personable yet completely respectful of your privacy. It was an enjoyable marriage retreat! read more
