I think I made the wrong menu choice and consequently suffered from food envy. Ha. I was trying to go a slightly healthier route and chose baked oatmeal. It was good but my friend's biscuit sandwich looked better. The oatmeal had a baked apple slice on top which was good but could have been better with 2-3 slices. I've been back here a couple of times since my initial review and maybe it's because I ordered different things, but they have been delicious! I've recently had the burrito (with turkey chorizo) and a biscuit sandwich and both were pretty good. The biscuit was a little dry, but the sauce made up for it! This review is long over due for me, Yolklore is one of my favorite breakfast spots around. I'm not sure I need to tell you how much I LOVE the breakfast burrito; you can tell how excited I am by the two bites taken before I remembered to snap a pic for my review. My first time trying this was around Covid, going through the drive thru and eating in the car with my girlfriend at the time (now wife). I have mostly ordered online and brought home, but they do have some self serve seating there if you want and can find a spot during busier times. I always have a hard time choosing anything other than the breakfast burrito, it is SO good and I could swim in the jalapeño ranch. But I've tried many different items including the breakfast sandwiches, continental breakfast, smash burger, countless weekend specials, and don't sleep on the gooey butter cake for dessert. I really have enjoyed everything I've tried. Orange juice is fresh squeezed and delicious. I don't get it all the time because it is a little expensive, but a delicious treat and a must for the first trip. Different coffee options are good and do the trick for what I want. I recommend following them on social media to see the different weekend specials and occasional collaborations with other local businesses for super tasty dishes. On second thought, be careful, because it always makes me hungry and crave a trip out to try everything they post. I needed a place to grab a quick bite and get a little work done. They offer dine in, take out, and drive thru. So many options to grab a great meal. The space is on the smaller side. There are several two and four top tables along with bar sitting. The bathrooms are immaculately clean. I stopped in at breakfast time. I placed my order at the counter and made my way to a table. There are several beverage options, but drip coffee was just what I was needing. My meal was made in quick order. I went with the breakfast burrito and was not disappointed in the least. Just a note: the burritos come premade, so no substitutions on this item. I was hesitant because the burrito contains turkey chorizo. Regular chorizo is too greasy for me, but the turkey version was light and flavorful. The burrito is grilled to perfection and served with a jalapeño ranch for dipping. Flaky, crispy, and dense. A little strawberry compote and butter made it the perfect side. Next: the bacon. I am a lover of thick cut bacon so yolklore passes this test. Juicy, thick, and scrumptious. The breakfast potatoes were good too. 2 mini potatoes griddled and salted. Simple. Well executed. We also shared the pancake dippers. I have no idea what was n those things, but they were awesome. There was a little bit of extra flavor on the back end that I could not pinpoint. I went back in October and I got the Nest Egg, when they had that on their rotation, and that was delightful; the potatoes that came with it were well seasoned. I've been visiting Yolklore a few times a year for several years and have always considered it one of my favorite local breakfast spots. The food and service used to be outstanding--well worth the slightly higher prices. During my most recent visit, though, I noticed a decline in both quality and attentiveness. I learned from the chef that the restaurant changed ownership about a year ago, which might explain some of the differences. The eggs were greasy, and the toast had a soggy texture with a flavor that reminded me of a dirty grill. The baked oatmeal still tasted familiar but wasn't served piping hot. The person who took the order seemed a bit disengaged and unfamiliar with the menu. That said, the restaurant seemed busier than I've seen it in past visits, which could be a positive sign that things are going well overall. Recent Yelp reviews also look pretty strong. The drive-through was easy to access. I chose a breakfast burrito this time. The voice taking my order was pleasant and efficient. I pulled up to the window and it didn't take long for a friendly face to greet me and tell me that my order would be right up. When I got my order, it was well packed with a set of compostable plastic utensils. When I opened my package, I saw a container of herby sauce to add to my burrito. The sauce was unexpected and I could drink it from a glass, it was so good. The burrito itself was full of good ingredients. Paired with the sauce it was outstanding. I had requested some ketchup too, not knowing about the sauce that came with it. I'll happily use the ketchup somewhere else. The biscuit wasn't dry and was super flavorful and buttery tasting. The turkey chorizo sausage was sooo good- never had it before! Spicy but a little lighter than traditional. I got an over easy egg which the yolk added a lot to the Sammie. The salad was great! It came with a lemony vinaigrette and pickled onions. We order breakfast from here regularly because of living in a household with dietary restrictions. Yolklore has always been great at meeting the requirements for lactose free. They always write on the lids to our smoothies which ones have the vegan yogurt and which ones do not. We ordered DoorDash and got four smoothies. Two of them were supposed to have yogurt. There was no writing on any of the lids so we called to ask if there's a way for us to be able to tell which ones are vegan. The employee on the phone told us that they were too busy to write on the lids right now and that's why that happened. They then told us that we didn't even order vegan yogurt in any of our smoothies. We told them it says on our receipt we did and we got charged for the vegan yogurt. They tried to maintain that we did not order vegan yogurt. We told them we did and we had the receipt. They then told us "oh yeah you did, we're gonna make two more and you can come up and get". We told them we DoorDash and didn't have a vehicle right now. After a ridiculous back-and-forth, we came up with the idea to just refund us for the smoothies and we'd place a new order regardless of how long it took. They said that would work and we placed our order for only two vegan smoothies. When they finally arrived, there was nothing that implied vegan yogurt in either of them so we called them back to double check, they were very frustrated and rude with us on the phone, even though we were not expressing any anger. They assured us it was vegan yogurt, even though it didn't say it and my wife drank one and before finishing it her stomach got wrecked painfully and she threw up because it actually did have regular yogurt and not vegan. I can't express how much we've patronize this place and how awesome it used to be but after the bad service and the attitude we got while we were not putting any out I will never go to this place again. My hubby ordered classic breakfast, eggs, bacon and ginormous biscuit came with. I ordered the frittata, and we got a small piece of blueberry coffee cake. Coffee cake was good and moist but very sweet. My frittata was delicious, perfect size with local sourced mushrooms on top and some sort of sauce drizzled on top which was perfect.
