Ambiance

This is such a cute brunch place with delicious Balkan food. It is the sister restaurant of Balkan Treat Box. Service is fast - you order at the counter and then get seated. Our favorite is the Cilbir as it was so savory and flavorful. It has a tomato and yogurt sauce with running eggs overlying. Knafeh was okay, not great. It was not as soft as I would have liked but did taste fresh.

I've been here multiple times and I've never had anything that wasn't amazing! (The mustafa tost was good, didn't have the deeper flavors that I like, but still very good.) I didn't think that the orange cake would be nearly as good as it was, but WOW!! The cream topping was phenomenal and the cake itself was SO flavorful and moist. The orange flavor was more authentic and present than it's been in any other orange-flavored thing I've ever had. The kilbir is always savory and has a depth and warmth to it that pairs perfectly with the yoghurt. I wish there was more bread included because the pieces included don't seem to last for half of the dish. The latte was very nice! If you're a coffee lover, then you'll like it. The coffee flavor is very nice and isn't drowned out by the syrups. The baklava parfait is a MUST. With the honey drizzle and nuts and flower petals on the plate, you get nice variety and it looks gorgeous. The sweetness of the baklava filling paired with the sourness of their homemade yoghurt, it's a perfect pairing. The service was also very professional and helpful when an item was missing from our order.

Fun to go on a breakfast date with my wife. We tried a couple of different things and loved each bite. It's usually very busy, but they do a great job of seating everyone and food comes out quick. Worth a short wait to enjoy!

I love this place! Telva has such a welcoming atmosphere and the food and coffee are phenomenal! Expect a wait on the weekends, but it's very much worth it. They serve Balkan coffee and breakfast, so it's not your typical American diner by any means. I typically get the cilbir but the sloppy mustafa tost is also really good. You can't go wrong with any of their pasties either if you want an extra treat! Their eurocream latte is one of my favorite lattes in town and I will wait in line just for this cup of coffee! They make their own hazelnut and chocolate syrups, so it's hard to replicate at home.

I went to Telva for the first time while I was in Webster for an interview, and it was such a great find. I really enjoyed the chicken breakfast pide. It's also attached to a nursery, which made it an enjoyable experience. I loved being able to walk through and look at all the plants after eating.

Finally found a spot with coffee ans real food, that the partner approves of! He usually likes a pastry with his afternoon coffee, so I was surprised when he ordered an avocado toast with an egg on top. Along with his double cortado, or hot latte with light milk, he has finally found a spot other than Starbucks for his afternoon coffee needs. He likes to say "would you like coffee" at lunch time. So that leaves me scrambling for real food. Today, I ordered the Baklava Granola parfait. I am focusing on a high protein lifestyle, they do have plenty of egg options, but I'm getting tired of eggs, so I jumped at the opportunity to get Greek yogurt. I wanted to ask where the yogurt came from, because it was so thick and not watery at all, I would definitely be interested in finding that for my home. Combined with granola, a drizzle of honey and baklava wafers, I would totally order it again but there were many other things that I would like to try!

Telva at The Ridge is one of the best breakfast spots. I've been a few times now and everything has been to die for. The Breakfast Sendvic with Sudzuka sausage was hearty and filling. The Cilbir was amazing because the garlic yogurt with tomato chile brown butter and herbs was perfect for dipping with sourdough. The Telva Avocado Toast was packed with fresh ingredients, messy but so good. We also tried the Breakfast Pide with dried sudzuka, which was like a flavorful breakfast pizza. We even had the pumpkin toast special, which was unique with a chili oil spice. Everything I've had here has been consistently delicious and don't forget to order their pastries. The service is also top-notch and they're very helpful when ordering and do a great job managing tables and seating.

Had a lot of fun coming here with a friend. It was super busy on a Sunday but somehow we were able to get a table right away. We got drinks and I got a cookie. It all came out soup quick even though they were busy. My iced seasonal drink came in the cutest cup ever. I would recommend maybe coming on a less busy day. Super cute place though and good drinks.

Superrr yumm! I've been here three times so far and I left satisfied every time. My favorite dishes are the cilbir (turkish eggs) and the breakfast pide. Yasmina is an amazing server, she helped me decide one the best options for my taste and helped secure a reservation for my birthday brunch. My friends and I were taken care of by her and her team and made brunch feel so special. The vibe is perfect for family and friends! -I'm not much of a chocolate person but I did enjoy their hot chocolate. It's more on the sweeter side! Only downside is that it can be incredibly tricky to find parking depending on which day you come.

The brunch menu has a variety of delicious items. And the drink offerings were great too. I guess because we'd made a reservation, we didn't have to stand in line. The food didn't come quick, BUT at least we got to sit it out. Ambiance is lacking though. Extreeemely loud and every time the front door opened, we almost got blown away. I don't understand why restaurants don't work on these physical problems.

Yeah these people know how to make really good food. When someone told me Balken Treat Box folks decided to start serving brunch I didn't think twice. They are a machine, huge space that's packed with a line out of the door so if it's a Sunday I suggest ordering online and going for a nice walk. Ideally not a grab and go but everything is damn good.

Great food with an identity. Menu is small and thoughtfully composed, staying in its lane for ingredients. Loud boisterous atmosphere. Expect to wait in line for a table for weekend breakfast. Prices are extremely low for the quality and portion sizes are perfect. I will be returning.

I came back and brought a guest! I couldn't stay away from the European Sipping Chocolate and the Breakfast Sendvic, again! They were as good as I remembered from last month. We got there early, close street parking on a cold day. Snow was coming down pretty good by the time we left. Same great service, same great food. Do not sleep on the sipping chocolate, it is a winter and weekend only option.

I have to be honest with you. I didn't know anything about St. Louis before I visited here for a…read morefew days. I certainly wasn't expecting the food scene to be so excellent. I had my first dinner of my stay at Olive + Oak, and it blew me away from the moment I laid my eyes on it. From the unsuspecting street outside, the giant windows glow with the warm, sparkling light from within. An elegant dining room with a beautiful bar and a good amount of hustle and bustle. I felt like I was at an upscale New Orleans joint. Very cozy. Service was just as beautiful. Our server was extremely nice, new the menu backwards and forwards, and rattled off the nightly specials without hesitation. And on top of all of that, when we were getting some stuff to-go, she threw in more bread for us! You can't train that level of service. That's just a good person. Onto the food. We started off with the Blue Crab Gratin (calabrian chili, celery + pretzel bread). This was ooey, gooey, cheesy, delicious, had a fair amount of crab in it, had a nice little kick, and the sliced, crunchy pretzel bread dippers were exquisite. Something seasonal that isn't on their menu anymore, we ordered an Okonomiyaki, which is a savory Japanese pancake, basically, covered in sauce. Wow, this thing was done well. Very reminiscent of the authentic thing I've had in Japan. Very nice. Another dish that isn't on the menu anymore, the Catfish dish. It was slightly Asian and on top of some sort of risotto rice. I can't remember exactly, but I do remember that it was very well cooked, had a nice char. An eclectic dish that came together very nicely. I also got to try some of the Rabbit Crepe (port wine braised rabbit, blueberry, fennel, arugula + kenny's bleu gouda crepe). Some people might shudder at the idea of eating rabbit. Those people need to grow up. Rabbit is one of the most succulent, delicious meats out there, and in this wonderful flavor combination, in a crepe. This chef is genius. I could have downed two of these things. We finished off the night with the recommended Cloud Cake (vanilla chiffon cake, coconut pastry cream, coconut + whipped cream icing). This thing was de-ca-dent. A nice, thicc sponge, a very coconuty cream, and a whipped icing with lots of coconut pulp in it. So heavenly. Overall, my socks were blown off. Not only does St. Louis have good food, this was a better meal than I had in Nashville and Kansas City. Who would have guessed. I would love to come back.

Overrated, over hyped. Fun decor however ambiance is way too loud. Food took forever, at least 45…read moreminutes between appetizer and mains. For studying, the space is really great. Good amount of tables, enough room to spread out, and there are charging ports which is a non negotiable for a long study session. The workers are friendly too. Oh and there's an ice cream shop attached to it. It's such a well rounded spot, whether you're coming to grab a quick bite, study for a few hours, or treat yourself to ice cream after. Highly recommend!

The food was delicious as well, we each got a variety of hot and baked goods. My quiche was yummy and the chocolate chip cookie was delish as well. My kids liked the plain avocado toast and breakfast burrito. You go to a counter and order and they package it to go. The line was long and it was a little confusing with different counters giving you different things (coffee drinks, non coffee drinks and food). You seat yourself, we initially were asked to move from sitting in an outside space that apparently was connected to another restaurant. So we had to find and put together another table for 7. This wasn't the most conducive for eating with little kids nor groups. I probably wouldn't return with little ones or a big group, but it would be great for a solo brunch or small group of adults!
