Ordered breakfast by phone for pick up on Friday morning. Service was very accommodating with changes while ordering and took payment info over the phone. It was good that I ordered pick-up since all of their outdoor tables were already occupied. To be pandemic-safe, I picked up from the front of the building- and since the order only took about 15min, they knew who I was before I even had to introduce myself at the door. I signed for payment outside and they handed off the fully packaged meals, and off I went. Flavors for the eggs and French toast were excellent. Very filling, very hearty, very well seasoned and tasty. The whip cream didn't hold up well in the to go box with the hot French toast- they might be able to put whip cream and/or strawberries in a foam cup to help preserve coolness- but that may need to be tested. I wish the syrup had been real maple syrup, but it definitely had the high fructose flavor. The candies were a cute bonus to find at the bottom of the to go bag!
What a fun spot tucked away in the lobby adjacent to an apartment building. The charm of the open kitchen concept and family run establishment as well as the various seating options make this feel like home instantly. You place your order at the front and then go sit and wait for them to bring you some magical fresh and flavorful food that was made right in front of you. If you blink you may miss it because the staff is so well organized they create French toast masterpieces and coffee concoctions that would amaze you and quickly! The space is perfect for a quick stop with friends or a more leisurely stay with a good book. You have a great space with great staff taking care of you for breakfast or lunch!
I went to this place around 9:45am on a Sunday. When I came in, I couldnt really tell if we had to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. It took a while for someone to come seat me... but not before they tell me all the places I couldn't sit because it was just me and they didnt want me sitting anywhere that had more than 2 seats..."to save space for the crowds if they came in".. Anyway...you order at the front and they bring you your food. The food was just OK. It kind of reminded me of going to a family member's house out of town and them cooking me breakfast. There was not anything about it spectacular or completely overwhelming, however I wasn't underwhelmed either. It has your basic breakfast foods, omelets, French toast, breakfast sandwiches... I just didn't see anything on the menu that appeared to be a standout item. I decided on the French toast and coffee for my meal. They were out of coffee except for decaf at 9:45 a.m.!!! The French toast was good I ordered some extra toppings and tried to jazz it up a little bit. It was just OK as I stated it was nothing that was superbly overwhelming. I would go again for the simple fact that I'm pretty certain I will get a basic breakfast that will fill my stomach. However if you are looking for a good jazzy breakfast spot on a Sunday morning I would not recommend this place. It's good for the community that it's in... it's a small little cafe and I don't think that they're trying to be more than what they are so... I think it's nice.
Amazing hospitality and great food. It's so relaxing here and I wish I lived closer so i can enjoy the food and the hospitality more. The steamed green tea matcha was delicious! The salmon and bagel- AMAZING! The portion was big so i had to bring mine back to enjoy at lunch time. Not complaining tho!
#23 on The 25 Places to Eat in STL in 2017. That is according to the Yelp Blog and now that I have been, I couldn't agree more. This is a relatively small cafe, with a big personality. It definitely is a neighborhood spot, that welcomes outsiders with open arms. I left the neighborhood before 2Schae opened, but if I still lived directly across the street, I'd be here every morning. I was impressed that much. I knew about 2Schae, but thought it was just a "coffee shop". I had no idea that they had such an extensive menu for breakfast and lunch. The large variety of omelettes available, just blew my mind. In addition to all the ones that they create, you can also select your own ingredients and they'll make one specially for you. One of my favorite vegetables is Asparagus and I'm a fan of Goat Cheese. So when I saw them with bacon and sun dried tomatoes in the French Quarter Omelette, I knew that one was for me. It was a three egg omelette filled with small pencil stem asparagus, the most flavorful kind in my opinion and rich creamy Goat Cheese. The bacon was crisp and sun-dried tomatoes were cut into little strips. Great presentation and the four flavors blended together wonderfully. It was so huge, I brought half of it home is a true, "Doggie Bag" that is eco-friendly. The coffee they serve is Wildhorse, which is from a local vendor. I like it when a local business supports another. At their condiment counter, they offered both skim and half & half for those who need a little cream in their coffee. 2Schae is divided in to two sections, with an open working kitchen in the middle. On one side you have small tables and chairs and on the other is plush chairs and sofas and a counter in front of the window. Either side is relaxing and work friendly. Mr & Mrs Schaeffer (owners) are very hospitable and were thrilled to here that I came in because of the Yelp Top 25. Will I return? - Gotta try lunch. A great little neighborhood eatery. They are small but the service is awesome! You get a feeling like you're in a local diner. I ordered French toast and a veggie scramble. Very tasty! Several menu items to pick from and you can order breakfast all day! In order to get to the restrooms you must step into the hall area of the building but it's still attached and not far..Just on the other side of the dining area.
This place should meet all of your check-list if you are a student or professional looking for a place to do work while brunching! 1) People are friendly. I know we are in the mid-west, but it's extra nice here. 2) Free wifi 3) Texas Toast French Toast with fruit and WARM syrup 4) Omelets. Omelets. Omelets 5) Smoothies and Coffee (the coffee is no Blue Print, but better than some others and free refills) What to do? Order at the counter, grab a seat and they will find you. FYI - you are not allowed to eat on the couches in the back, but I would prefer to sit outside on a nice day anyways.
What a great locals breakfast spot! My friend was visiting from Ohio so we walked down to breakfast. Staff is vey very friendly. We both ordered the 2schae toast and loved it. We both felt full but light and we hit the museums without getting hungry until late afternoon. I'll be back to try other items on the menu!

He was walking so much among the four tables and constantly asking questions that it made us feel anxious. Food was not that great. Had the corner Cristo which was soggy and lacking flavor. Asked for crispy bacon and was not.
They have the best Matcha Green Tea Latte!! OMG! I liked their simple menu. That 2shae toast is a treat. Share with a friend of you have to. It's small and seating is limited but you will enjoy your food.
BREAKFAST REVIEW Just your neighborhood cafe with what feels like home cooking and good vibes. Nothing fancy but everything done right. It's run by the nicest couple of empty nesters who wanted to start their own cafe. They live in the neighborhood too and seem to know a lot of the people who stop in. I had the Southwest scramble and I shared an order of French toast with my friends. Both were similar to how I would cook at home and both were delicious. They have a pretty big menu, especially in the egg section, so you'll be able to find something that appeals to you. Prices are really reasonable too. I would definitely recommend you stop in!

2Schae never disappoints! Perfect neighborhood gem run by two fabulous people, Lisa & Don! They made some small changes to the menu which made my breakfast selection harder. I chose the BLT egg sandwich. It sounds typical but theirs has Lisa's secret sauce plus avocado and other goodness. Bacon was cooked perfectly and lots of it. The flavors of everything was wonderful! read more

We really loved our experience! The owner was kind, welcoming, and friendly and the smoked salmon bagel was to die for. We were underwhelmed by the breakfast burrito but still tasty. This is a great spot for a quick, fresh breakfast. read more

What a fantastic neighborhood breakfast place. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast experience yesterday. From the second we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly staff and they welcomed us. We found a cozy spot to sit in the back part of the restaurant where there are high seats w counters overlooking street/neighborhood. Varied menu with a lot of different breakfast items to choose from. We both ordered omelettes and loved t. They offered self serve coffee and water. We will return when we are in town next. Such a great place. They do a wonderful job offering a warm and inviting place for guests while delivering delicious food. read more
Very nice café. Brought my baby girls here for breakfast and they're pretty busy, but the Staff was very accommodating to them. The French toast was THE BOMB. I ordered the chipotle club and it was really good and flavorful!! Came back a second time with my fiancé and the food was just as good. just got kind of annoyed when our orders were taken. He took FOUR people's separate orders, but when it was our turn, he just walked away. No "i'll be right back," nothing. He just walked away and started filling the orders that he had previously taken. We waited about 3 minutes before someone ELSE said they'd be right with us. Why not just take our order as well????? Whatever. But overall, good experience. read more
I drive past 2chae every single day on my way home from work, so I thought it was finally time to try it! The inside is small, but very cute. One half is standard restaurant seating and the other is comfy couches with books. I had the couch potato omelette with a chai latte - so good! The omelette had lots of meats and plenty of cheeses. My friend had the French Quarter omelette and really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be back! read more

Situated right off Forest Park is this quaint little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was super fast, friendly, and attentive. I got the New York Sophisticate with salmon and capers. Delicious although the omelette could be fluffier. I chose to forgo the toast. It would've been nice if there was a substitute. Overall good experience! read more

2Schae is hands down my favorite breakfast place. The owners are incredibly friendly. I was in town for business and stopped a week ago. When I stopped today they remembered me and what I was in the city for. They greet you with open arms. I had the scrammed eggs/cheese with bacon. I know, a meal that should be easy and pretty standard. This meal was above and beyond. The eggs had almost an addictive sweetness. Not sweet but something magical. The owner suggested a hot sauce. That just brought out the taste. The bacon was large and full of flavor. The coffee is just how I like it. The place is small. It is not very easy to see if you are driving by. The stop will be well worth it! read more

This is a cool lil Cafe in the Forest Park area where if you blink you'll miss this Lil hidden gem. I really like the laid back atmosphere were it's extremely cozy. This was my first time visiting and I really enjoyed the food. The exact feeling and taste of a home cooked type of meal.... I've tried the Corner Cristo and the 2Shea Toast. Those two things alone on the menu got me ready to come back again. If I like it, I'm sure you would too... read more

While visiting St. Louis I wanted to try nearby restaurants with great reviews. This cafe was a great choice. The parking was a challenge. But once past this small obstacle it was all good. I went with a taste for an omelette. I usually can't go wrong with a Mediterranean Omelette, so I played it safe with my choice of ingredients. The omelettes are made with 3 eggs. I opted for two instead. The ingredients were very, very fresh. The olives certainly came with bursting flavors, while the feta cheese was rather mild. I prefer mild feta as opposed to salty, strongly flavored kinds. So in an egg shell (not a nut! Get it? LOL!) I was very pleased and my tummy was happy. A mini croissant was my choice over white or wheat bread. The coffee was at the right strength and fresh tasting. This cafe is especially nice because it feels very welcoming and homey for first-timers and repeat, regular customers. I'm assuming the two person team are the owners. They did all the cooking, smiling, greeting, and conversing with ALL their customers. The cooking area is out in the open and not behind a wall. It literally felt like your breakfast was being cooked for you in your own new home. It felt very personable and I thoroughly enjoy it. The owners are extremely nice and personable. While I was eating it was obvious that they've established regulars. They greeted these customers as such and the customers were very receptive and pleasant in return. They entered and interacted as if they were looking forward to the breakfast meeting. The cafe is located in a residential neighborhood, which likely lends to the challenge in parking. But the upside is the neighborhood, warm atmosphere the restaurant radiates that was probably created because of its location. So I shall not complain, and will simply appreciate. I can't believe I've never reviewed 2Schae. This is a great little neighborhood cafe and I love it for a quick breakfast or brunch. The best part of this cafe is for sure the friendly owners. Everyone is always so pleasant and it really feels homey. They have various omelets that I've tried over the past two years - the eggs with pesto are always yummy. I'm a sucker for the 2Schae toast, though, which is a pretty simple concept but deliciously executed. It's thick toast, peanut butter, a banana, granola, and honey. Super yummy! I think they recently changed their granola and it used to be crunchier which I miss. My boyfriend gets the smoked salmon bagel and it's totally decent, but pretty basic smoked salmon. They do unlimited coffee and have a cute selection of mugs, but the coffee could be slightly better quality. I'll definitely keep coming back for an easy, convenient place to grab breakfast in the neighborhood. read more
