I am moving back to the city of STL and when I do, Bowood will definitely be a favorite breakfast place. When dining at any of the, Niche restaurants, you know you are going to experience excellence in service and food. Being an Espresso Martini snob, I give the one here at Bowood an A+. It easily is in my top two of favorites. It's made with my favorite vodka, Tito's and they use real "espresso". Sometimes I have a mimosa chaser after enjoying my martini. For my breakfast entree I enjoyed a, "Classic Breakfast. It was two eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and brioche toast. I had my eggs scrambled and they were super fluffy. The bacon was freshly made and paired well with strawberry jam on the brioche toast. Their breakfast potatoes are fingerling and they're roasted. It's a nice change from the typical hash browns or American fried. The service is spectacular. Servers and bartenders are all professional and super friendly. It makes for an enjoyable dining experience inside a nursery/greenhouse. Can't wait to get moved into my new condo, so I can become a regular here at, Bowood By Niche.
Bowood by Niche is a great breakfast spot in the Central West End featuring a straightforward menu with some seasonal rotations. The flavored brewed coffees are a must try. For breakfast options, I recommend the cacio e pepe soft scramble eggs and the buttermilk pancakes with blueberries. Bowood features housemade pastries that rotate and sell out so I recommend ordering those upon arrival. The seasonal poptarts are a fun treat. The entire space is bright and surrounded by greens as it is adjacent to the Bowood Farms, where you can procure plants, flowers, gifts, and garden items. Currently they are opened for brunch and lunch every day from 8am to 2pm but I do recommend reservations as they are often fully committed.
Love this place! It's such a beautiful place for a lunch/brunch. The staff is always friendly and the food never disappoints. I've taken my parents here, friends for a yap sessions, and have also had a few dates here. Everyone has loved their experience. Most recently I brought a friend who was visiting for lunch. She ordered the green goddess chicken salad sandwich and swapped the fries for a salad. I ordered the Ceasar salad with a bowl of the minestrone. We both loved what we ordered and caught up while we enjoyed our meal. You can look at plants, ceramics, before and after your meal and they even post the schedule for classes at their studio in the little plant shop.
Wow! Pictures don't do Bowood justice! Part plant store, part restaurant, all beautiful. I looked around after we put our name in, the cutest plants, everything so cool. I will have to come back just to hang out in the store section as our table was ready super quick. A nice bar area and some tables in the first section, it also looked like you could just place an order on the store side of the bar and then a dining area, nicely appointed with pictures and lots of plants. So nice. Our server was super nice, got our drinks and took our order. I needed something light as I knew my lunch was going to be heavy. I ordered the Garden Grain Salad with the dressing on the side. The food came out quickly and my salad was beautiful! It was marinated wheat berries and quinoa, heirloom cherry tomato, pickled peppers, roasted corn, arugula (I love arugula!), crispy shallots, and white balsamic vinaigrette. It tasted so good, I loved every bit of it! I saw a lovely patio area, out the side off the dining room. It was packed even though it was warm already. Can't wait to visit again!
This spot has been on my radar for a while so the second someone invited me for Brunch, I cancelled my plans to lay on my couch all day and I'm glad I did. When you first walk in it looks like you are entering a plant store (because you are) but tucked to the side is the restaurant. Recommend reservations but if there's a wait you have the option to shop & order drinks so the time flies. We ordered a blueberry pancake for the table, and it was an amazing pancake, the edges were the perfect crisp while being a soft fluffy pancake, it didn't even need syrup. I wasn't in the mood for brunch cocktails so I ordered a butter pecan iced latte and it hit the spot. It is served in a skinny tall glass so I had to keep reminding myself not to gulp it all down in a few sips. We also got a side of potatoes & a Caesar salad for the table to share. The croutons on the Caesar salad are so good, I usually prefer crushed croutons in my salad but the big chunky croutons are so good. My sister-in-law and I ordered two entrees and halved them so we got the breakfast burrito & the Cuban both were delicious. I preferred the Cuban, as the breakfast burrito chorizo had a seasoning I wasn't a huge fan of but overall they were both fresh and good. My sister got the crab cake benedict and that was amazing as well. The eggs were poached perfectly. Already can't wait to come back and show others this spot!
I have been meaning to try Bowood for years now and finally stopped by with friends. We came here for brunch on a Saturday and waited roughly 30 mins for a table outside. The interior of the restaraunt is beautiful - very open and airy. There is a plant store connected, which is great for browsing while waiting for your table. I ordered the breakfast burrito & the golden milk latte and both were good. I wasn't a huge fan of the green salsa it came with, but the burrito itself was delicious. The "latte" was essentially an Americanized version of Haldi Doodh. I'm interested to check out the lunch or dinner items next!
Food: 10/10 The ricotta al mattino IS AMAZING. I never see it reviewed on yelp, do NOT sleep on this dish. Creamy ricotta, perfectly poached eggs, roasted garlic and chili crisp on top! to die for! With crusty crispy bread to dip. What could be better ? The salad was awesome too - very flavorful. BE WARNED the large is IMMENSE. Could feed 4 people. We did not know this lol. Service was great! Ambiance very nice and greenery all around. Can get very hot in there though!
Holds up to the hype! If you're going to wait for a seat might as well peruse the wonderful collection of flowers and garden equipment! We only waited about 15 minutes (not even enough time to check out all the plants) before we were seated. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the decor is spot on for the theme of the restaurant. The food is next level! Packing unique flavor into your traditional breakfast fare. The place does get busy but it's worth the wait and we will be coming back!
Love bowood it's so delicious and I love sitting outside. The Cacio e Pepe eggs are the best and a classic. The service was fast and kind. The vibes when you sit outside are perfect! I love eating at bowood
Food was excellent. Happy hour breakfast has really good prices so I went before having to work. Happy Hour is definitely worth it. Not sure if this was just me but I think the hostesses was taking my order but then forgot about me so I was waiting for my check at least 20 minutes, seeing other tables getting waited on, getting their checks, getting checked in by their waiter, and leaving before I even got one check in. The other waiter also proceeded to help take some of my plates away which I thought was kind but where did mine go? I asked another person for my check and paid and left. I sat with my card on the table, no dishes on my table, trying to eye down where my waiter went but since I guess she was the hostess, she never came back. Oh well.

I stopped by for brunch and was immediately greeted by a plant shop that blends seamlessly into the restaurant space a unique and inviting vibe. The menu isn't huge, but it's thoughtfully curated and has something for whatever you're in the mood for. I ordered the churro waffle and the crab eggs benedict. Both were delicious. The waffle wasn't overly sweet and had the perfect dusting of cinnamon sugar, while the crab eggs benedict was well-seasoned with flavorful crab that didn't overpower the dish. I would definitely recommend Bowood and would happily return next time I'm in town. Great service as well. -Mr.
Always a treat to enjoy brunch at Bowood. I ordered the cacio e pepe eggs, scrambled hard, served with sourdough, and added some of my friend's smoked salmon on top, yummy. The light mixed greens salad is always a favorite; it's nice to have something fresh with brunch. We also had a couple of cocktails, and Heather surprised me with a complimentary glass of champagne, which was such a lovely touch. I never get tired of the plants and all the natural light in the dining space.

As always, Bowood delivers! From shopping the greenhouse to fresh foods and local drink options. Service is always top notch and really is that "unrushed, stay and enjoy" feeling. I had the BLT today and wowza (pictured half gone). And then the summer bloom cocktail that was so good I had to have two! I typically don't make it here on the weekends due to the crowd, but snagged a reservation last minute. Come check them out! read more
It's generally pretty easy to find parking here. The inside is so beautiful. Genuinely just a beautiful place to sit and eat and enjoy the greenery. I go whenever I'm visiting St. Louis and it's always a pleasant experience. The staff are all kind and helpful. The pancakes are a must and they hit every single time. Asked for the bacon crispy and overheard the table over ask for it chewy and everyone got theirs according to their preference. I'd skip the matcha and more eclectic drinks. read more
This is the most elite breakfast spot I've been to since moving here. We tried coming here a few months ago, but they were booked out and full so we had time again recently and made reservations (highly recommend!) There is a parking lot across the street, but also street parking. This is such darling and refreshing space. It is a small restaurant surrounded by plants and gardening items. We opted for indoor seating since we had our little one. The service was lovely - not pushy, and just very chill. We ordered a Calabrian egg dish with poached eggs and toast. If you looove yolks and runny eggs, that is for you! We also got the egg toast which is a soft scrambled egg on top of toast - so good with the creme fraiche and bread. I also ordered a standard breakfast for my toddler off the kid's menu - eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. As for drinks: an iced vanilla latte, a lavender lemonade, and an orange juice. Great drinks, but I think the kid's OJ was the best, lol! It was hella fresh and he did not want to share with us lol This is a MUST for brunch especially if you're looking for chill vibes read more

Beautiful restaurant! Great brunch options. St. Louis classic. I had the chai hot toddy which was divine - a perfect warm drink with a little extra to keep you going through the day. Service was prompt. Most tables fit 4, some booths suited for 2 people, they were able to accommodate my group of 5. It looked like there was a larger table near the front for a bigger party, perhaps 8 could fit comfortably. So cute to be able to shop for healthy and vibrant plants after breakfast and pick up some holiday themed decor. Parking on the street outside had a meter, but if you go around the corner to park there's free parking. read more

Birthday brunch with my girl, everything was wonderful and the staff was super helpful. Love the pancakes it's so fluffy! I loved my crab cake version of the Benedict it's gluten free. They have a cute shop at the front so you can pick out sth for your garden, great gift spot too. Would come back again! read more
A gorgeous nursery + restaurant combo with LA prices -- $6 for a cortado! (though it was a great cortado). It boasts a cozy and warm interior with a retail store as you walk in. Warmer months offer outdoor seating. I was debating between the Benedict & the Cacio e Pepe, since I heard another server recommend the later. But my server recommended the Benedict so I went with that, Hollandaise on side. I wish I'd heeded the other server's advice, as the dish was good but not mind-blowing: bread was chewy not crispy so hard to eat, but the smashed potatoes were pretty tasty. I had planned to order a pumpkin muffin to go but my server brought the check before asking if i wanted anything else, which is a weird move cause it's not like they were trying to turn the table over for waiting guests. Not sure it's worth the price to return but it was worth a one-time visit. read more

One of the coolest, yummiest, unique brunch spots you'll come across in STL. You know it's going to be amazing because it's apart of the Niche restaurant group - that includes many of my other favorite restaurants such as Brasserie & Pastaria. It does not disappoint. Bowood is a MUST visit and is one of my favorite brunch spots. The restaurant is attached to a retail store and garden nursery. That space is clearly not an afterthought, it is worthy of a visit in its own right with indoor and outdoor curated plants, pots, tools, and gifts. Additionally, there are event spaces for classes - which I have partaken in before once (candle making) and enjoyed it! The indoor eating area is bright and cozy. There are also outdoor and covered outdoor options. They make all the touches extra special, including glass jars of jam, Bowood postcard with your bill, even gold paper-clips. No detail goes unnoticed. I haven't even gotten to the best part yet - the food! They make the most scrumptious pancakes. I definitely suggest ordering a "table pancake" for everyone to munch on and try before their food arrives. This is one pancake vs. the entree of pancakes. That way you can try the pancake AND order an entree. Which is good news because it's hard to pick an entree. Breakfast or Lunch? They ALL look and taste amazing. Back to the table pancake - it's pretty big and one was plenty for two of us. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe and my husband ordered the eggs Benedict - we have ordered these before and love them each time. The potatoes are crisp and plentiful, the eggs Benedict is succulent, and the cacio e Pepe is seasoned simply but delectable. Served with homemade bread and greens dressed deliciously (seriously, so simple but so good), you get amazing bang for your buck. The hand squeezed orange juice is yummy with just a tiny bit of pulp. They do everything well so you leave feeling very satisfied. It's a little pricey but it's worth it! This spot gets packed, grab a reservation to avoid long wait times! read more
Had reservations. They are hard to get! Seated immediately. Know that there is limited space between tables. You will likely hear the convo of your neighbors. Service was interesting. Someone seated after us received their food before us. Someone seated after us had their food order taken before us. I don't know if this is normal. Food was food. The egg toast was tasty. I wish it came with a side. The traditional was good, potatoes were excellent. Nice jelly at the table too. Overall good brunch. read more
This has to be my all-time favorite brunch place ever!!! First of all, once I enter the place, I'm literally greeted by FLOWER HEAVEN?! I went at around 10:30 for an early brunch, and the sun from the windows illuminate the store beautifully. Just wow. If you're not coming for a bite, visiting the flower shop is already a wonderful experience. Their nursery is outside, so don't forget to check that out too! Even at 10:30 am, the place is already booming, so I recommend making a reservation beforehand. I didn't make a reservation, so I had to put down a name and wait. Waiting took around 30 mins, and during my wait, I checked out a store named Holliday, which is located in front of Bowood. I'll have a review for Holliday too, so check that out later! Once seated, we ordered the chicken club melt, OJ, and churro waffles. The chicken club melt, wasn't shockingly good or anything, it was your average chicken club. But you know what was shockingly good? The fries on the side!!! I promise that I'm not exaggerating, but these fries have to be the best I've ever had. It's because they're so thin, they're extra crunchy by the bite! Most of the fries I've had were thick fries which makes them more softer and soggier. These fries are a total game changer. The churro waffles were great! It's so simple but it's warmth is so heartwarming and cozy. It's not too sweet, and did not feel too heavy to the stomach. Easy ten out of ten! The OJ was great! It wasn't sour at all! I needed the refreshing and citrusy taste to pair with the chicken melt. The staff was really sweet; everyone was so easygoing and did not rush you or anything to make room for other guests. They were all so chill and friendly, always there for you when you have a question. Bowood is the perfect place to go for the gram (cause if it's beautiful interior AND exterior), and also a sweet place to check out when you need a snack break for some waffles and sandwiches! read more

If you don't already realize this about me I love breakfast and brunch. So my recommendation is a favorite of many Washu families where my son attended undergrad. Bowood is located in the Central West End of Saint Louis about 10 minutes from the WashU campus. Their dining is small and reservations are a must through their website. Seating is in a compact brightly lit room with glass everywhere allowing almost a feel of outdoor seating which they do offer and it's even more impressive in the garden. Bowood also offers a small full service bar that is hopping! The fare is just as amazing as the venue with fresh farm to table ingredients. The detail to the preparation of the their dishes is next level. Eggs Benedict is likely their most popular plate. They have a full drink menu with strong and fresh mimosas and a phenomenal Expresso Martini. Honestly I've never had a poor meal. The service is just as on point in my experience. Bowood by Niche has been my favorite overall breakfast and brunch spot for years in Saint Louis. I've have so many great meals and wanted to update my previous 5 stars to another 5 star. Bowood is one of our go to breakfast spots in STL! Located inside a nursery we always end up leaving with a plant! We love their egg toast and the French toast! We always have quick and friendly service, Mae sure to make a reservation or plan on waiting on the weekends. We love the airy feel and layout - it doesn't feel like you're stuffed into a restaurant. 10/10 would recommend for brunch! read more

Very cute place with a garden you can shop at, too. It's hot inside if you go in the summer. Inside is cute, but it's tight, especially if you're by the bar. The coffee was good but not worth $7 in my opinion for something so basic. LOVED the breakfast burrito -- very flavorful. The cacio y pepe eggs were underwhelming that the server recommended. Service was good though! Overall I would come back and either get the burrito again or try something new. I don't know if it was worth the hype. read more
Awesome place for brunch! It's like a greenhouse meets the outdoor section of Walmart right when you walk in--if that section were filled with the cutest plants and keepsakes you could imagine. Elevated, clean, quirky vibes. The food was delicious: all your usual favorites, but perfected, made with noticeably superior ingredients. Their sourdough bread and breakfast potatoes were standouts for me, the potatoes unlike anything I've had before. Loved their coffee, too. I ordered a butter pecan latte that came out super quick and accompanied by the nicest service. The atmosphere here is so fresh and unique, yet somehow still cozy and inviting. Absolutely phenomenal! Thankfully we reserved a table because this spot was poppin! They have a cute little store with plants to browse while you wait. The dining area was fairly small but we made it work. Our server was very nice and our order was taken and received correctly. The food was fresh and we were amazed at how the pancakes were piping hot after sitting for several minutes. We've already talked about going back to try out lunch options. read more

I will never EVER stop talking about this place. Bowood is my favorite restaurant in St. Louis and everyone knows it. There is absolutely nothing bad on the menu that you can get, but the cheddar waffle has to be my favorite. It is so unique and flavorful, can't get it anywhere else! read more
This place has been on my list to try for a good while now and I finally got the chance recently while my friend was in town; it did not disappoint! First of all, the ambiance is perfect with light decor and plants everywhere. Such a fun idea to pair a greenhouse with a restaurant. The patio looked perfect and almost like you were sitting in a backyard with an Ivy wall and not on concrete like a lot of patios you see. The food was perfect. I loved my eggs Benedict and their fingerling potatoes were especially crisp and delicious. My friend ordered the arugula and grain salad and added salmon which was beautiful and surprisingly filling for a salad. We also ordered cocktails, mimosas of course, and I ordered the blackberry 75 which was served in a beautiful tall glass and was delicious as well as the smoky mountain honey, which was smoky indeed, and came with a tart cherry at the bottom. My friend also ordered the Persephone Jewel, which she enjoyed and was beautiful as well with a dried lime slice. We ordered chocolate croissants to go. Our server Lauren was so friendly and kind and we had a nice conversation with her. Everyone was so friendly, even though we closed the place down they didn't rush us to leave and on our way out a gentleman talked with us about the plants up front for a few minutes. We would have perused longer if it wasn't already past their closing time. We really enjoyed our visit and I'll be returning as soon as possible. Perfect for this time of year too! read more
Bowood is very a cool brunch spot. It's connected to a plant nursery and a gift shop! Getting a reservation can be tough but if you can snag one, do it. If not, the wait isn't too bad since you can walk around and shop on the side. The space has tons of natural light which I liked a lot. The menu isn't huge, but everything on it sounds good. They've got great cocktails too. You can either share plates or just get your own, and either way it works. I tried the pancakes and they were insanely fluffy and sweet. The omelet was also super light and full of flavor. The service was friendly and fast, and I'd definitely come back again. read more

We had an amazing brunch at Bowood by Niche. I love a great cocktail with brunch and the bartender did not disappoint. My girlfriend got the Cuban sandwich and I got the breakfast burrito. The restaurant was bright and inviting and I loved the plant nursery at the entrance! read more

After a few years of procrastinating, I finally made the trek to Bowood. I haven't been back here since they changed the name, so I was super excited to check it out. At first glance, everything seemed the same as before, (at least with the greenery). I went with the classic breakfast and got the eggs cacio e Pepe style and substituted the mixed salad for fruit. Drink wise, I went with a glass of sparkling rose. The eggs were phenomenal and I savored each bite. This was my first time having brioche toast and it didn't disappoint. The potatoes were ok, but didn't wow me. I appreciated the crunch they had but they lacked flavor. As for the fruit, I've never had that combo before (blackberries, pineapple, clementine, and blueberries) but it was great! After a few bites, it made me wonder if I should have gotten a mimosa and added in the fruit. That idea went to bed after a few sips of my sparkling rosè. Service was great and my server was kind and helpful. I'm glad I finally got a taste and can't wait to come back to try more dishes. read more

We came here for a birthday brunch with friends. I ordered a chai hot toddy and it was decent. I couldn't really taste the chai but I still enjoyed it. I got a classic breakfast while others in my party got a burrito and the Benedict. The food didn't take too long to come out. Overall its a nice restaurant. I would like to come back in the summer to see what other plants they will have for sale. read more

This has been on our list of restaurants to try and it has been worth the wait! They have a Christmas/plant shop as soon as you walk in and the vibe is very comforting. The menu was pretty easy to look through, but deciding what to get was difficult as everything sounded good. I opted for the Eggs Benedict with the Cajun Hollandaise sauce and my wife go the Egg Toast. Flavors were delightful and presentation was through the roof. We will be back to try more of the menu! read more

The ambiance is perfect if you want a garden vibe instead and out. The restaurant is shabby chic with clean lines. They offer happy hour in the mornings now 8-9am with drink & food specials. You must try their Aperol spritz, the BoWood burger & they are known for their fluffy pancakes. This location is perfect for a day date with whomever you choose to spend time with. We heard great things about Bowood and it had been our list for a while. Expectations were high and we were not disappointed! I loved the cheddar waffle. It would be hard for me to not order it again and the vegan sausage was the best I've had. My boyfriend is a big fan of breakfast burritos and raved about the one here. He loved the green salsa. The fries were good too! The service was fantastic. Our server reviewed the food menu and drinks. My drink was the tea (I can't remember what it was called), it was very good. Next time I'd like sit outside if the weather permits. Highly recommend! read more
