Faro Garden Bowl, Strawberry Goat Cheese Salad with Chicken, Garden of Eva with Greek fries

My friends and I had a lovely afternoon lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. We had been out running errands, and when we were talking about lunch spots, I recommended Cafe Amalia since I had heard so much about it...and let me just say that this spot did not disappoint! When we arrived, there were a few other customers inside, but it was not too busy. After taking some time to review the menu, we placed our orders at the counter, paid and then found a table upstairs to sit at. The food did not take too long before it was brought over to our table and honestly, it looked so colorful, fresh and tasty. We were all very excited to try our meals and, of course, share with one another. Everything we ordered was just so delicious. The salads were freshly made and the sandwich I ordered was honestly so good. I wanted to eat the whole thing, but it was very filling so I had to take half home with me. Of course, the fries were all eaten since they were hot and just the right amout of crispy. I need to add this spot to my rotation of places whenever I am in need of something fresh and somewhat healthy.

We finally tried Cafe Amalia in Kirkwood! I have been eying this cafe since it opened a few months ago, but haven't had time to come in. First off, the atmosphere is stunning. I've never really seen a double decker cafe, but this cafe has two separate dining rooms! We opted for the upstairs. It was super clean and modern inside. The service was so amiable and helpful, we really felt at home. You order at the counter but plenty of people come around to ask if you need help. An older gentleman kept asking if we needed anything else, he even grabbed us waters and ketchup! The food was pretty good. I started with an Iced Vanilla Latte and it had such a good flavor. Not too sweet and I could actually taste the coffee. We tried two sandwiches, the Grilled Chicken Gyro and the Olympian Stack Sandwich. My Mom thought her Gyro was good but a tad dry. The house-made tzaziki really helped add some moisture though. I LOVED the Olympian Stack sandwich. The horseradish and roast beef was packed full of flavor. Plus, the fries on the sides of our dishes were super crispy. We would come back, and sooner rather than later! Besides the gyro, everything was 5 star worthy.

Light and bright! Describes both the space and the fare served by the kitchen. The main floor is absolutely gorgeous! The decor is cozy and inviting. The upstairs hosts several cozy out of the way tables if you're in need of a little quiet. The menu is light and fresh. I went with the signature Cafe Amalia salad. This was perfect for a midday meal. Fresh greens, sweet dried fig and cranberry, tangy balsamic, and I added steak to add a little protein. They offer a full service coffee bar if you're in need of a little pick me up. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We arrived for brunch but we learned they stopped serving the breakfast items which was disappointing. So I ordered the Strawberry Goat Cheese Salad and I added grilled chicken. After you order your food at the counter they give you a number to display on your table and they bring your food. I give the grilled chicken 5 stars. The chicken was cooked perfectly and it was juicy and flavorful. The rest of the salad I would give it 3 stars. The salad portion was pedestrian. I thought the goat cheese and salad dressing would make my taste buds happy but it was just okay. I would see if they offer a different salad dressing with this salad. All the ingredients were fresh but it was lacking flavor. This is a cute cafe. The vibe is very chill.

Cafe Amalia was such a great experience. The smoked salmon was divine! Honestly some of the best smoked salmon I've ever had. The first bite completely blew me away. The staff was incredible and beyond sweet, and I love supporting a family-owned business. Their matcha was also really tasty, and I definitely recommend grabbing something from their bakery while you're there. Cafe Amalia is a perfect place to eat with friends or family for a nice brunch. Parking can be a little difficult, but it's absolutely worth it. I'll definitely be back!

Love this place. Great food very fresh ingredients. The ricotta toast however was way too sour. Maybe next time they should do like a honey drizzle even it out. The salad was good. Chicken was well cooked and the hummus was very delicious. The location is nice and bright lots of space and they also have a place you can sit upstairs. Service is super friendly and they're always very helpful and take the time to explain things to you.

Love this place- plenty of space with two stories and lots of natural light. Menu is amazing- would recommend the Freddo cappuccino for sure. Food is great and good variety of fulfilling options.

I'll start off by saying the service was great. Many young kids and nice people overall. I really wanted to love Cafe Amalia, but I didn't. I got the Garden Avocado Egg Sandwich and it wasn't very good at all. The bagel was like a grocery store packaged bagel, the avocado was more like the readymade packaged avocado sauce packets. The egg and tomato was good, but it was not at all worth $15. However, I liked the chocolate chip scone and my iced coffee was alright too. I'm not sure if I'll be back again for breakfast, but maybe will give lunch a try. The croque was very good - enjoyed a bite of that from my friend

The vibe was amazing. It was such a cute cafe. I really liked the Greek fries. It was crispy and well seasoned. I got a side of the tzatziki sauce to dip the fries. I also got the tuna salad plate and it was so delicious. Perfect as girl dinner. I recommend trying their pastries as well. The staff were nice and food came out pretty quick.

The sweetest spot. If I could wrap the aesthetic of this place up and place it in my home, I would. The cafe is located off of Manchester and parking is tight, but there is extra hidden parking in the grass lot behind the building- so note that before you venture out! You order at the counter, and they have a great selection of breakfast options, and they also have lunch. Espresso menu is wonderful, and a great time to treat yourself to a special drink. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and I loved how fluffy the eggs were! It was delicious on the ciabatta and the bacon was a wonderful salty additive. I'm really looking forward to returning and getting lunch!

Snuck in for the first time right before closing on Black Friday. We were definitely here for lunch and could not decide what to get. The cashier really "sold" the Olympian Stack to my partner with his description of the sandwich. I am cutting back on caffeine so I jumped at the chance to get the Spartan Power Bowl, thinking it might give me energy. We also split a Lemon Orzo Chicken soup, so we could try it. The prices were higher than expected, but the portions were also very generous. I chose beef for my power bowl and I loved it, cooked with a slight pink in the center and very tender, great flavor from the peppers and the rice had a flavor that I've never tasted before also. The man was not head over heels for his sandwich, but he did like it. Since they had a cortado on special and great looking pastries in addition to the coffee, this is a definite be back.

Cafe Amalia is part coffee bar - part Greek/Mediterranean restaurant. I came in expecting to grab an iced chai & a fresh pastry, but I walked out with an incredible lunch! I could have just ordered my Greek restaurant go-to (a Grilled Chicken Gyro), but the menu here is anything but ordinary: *The Olympian Stack immediately caught my attention: grilled steak (SUPER TENDER), caramelized onions, red pepper, arugula, havarti & meyer lemon horseradish. *The Atlas Bowl featured Amalia's famous meatballs in a marinara sauce over a bed of rice. So filling! *I went back for their breakfast menu and ordered the Greek-style French fry omelet. They also have an avocado egg sandwich, smoked salmon, croque madame & a brioche French toast There are 2 stories of seating, so pull up a chair and stay for a while. Open 7am-3pm Tuesday-Sunday.

Came here for a brunch, and I was amazed by the fall decors and the interior designs. It was very cozy and cute! I ordered the avocado egg sandwich. The food was pretty good but the flavor was kind of bland. Matcha latte was not too sweet. The overall service was great, people were really nice there.

Thankfully, they had all hands on deck so there was minimal time spent waiting. The woman who took my order was kind and patient as I struggled to select which kind of bread I wanted from their plethora of options. Although I came in undecided between a sandwich and one of their pastries, I opted for the former and a chocolate chip cookie. After waiting all of five minutes, my name was called and I was on my way. While the presentation of the sandwich wasn't the most appealing it def made up for it in taste. The egg was whole but cooked to perfection. Although I asked for cheddar, I was given white cheddar instead, which I was surprised because this was not told to me when I ordered. The sandwich was good, but I'll need to choose a different bread next time since it was quite mushy. The cookie was good and something I'd compare to tollhouse. It was incredibly soft but again, I was thrown off by the semisweet, almost dark chocolate chips. Nevertheless, it was still good and I'd get it again. Overall, this place reminds me of a Des Peres version of La Bonne Bouche. It's got ample seating, tons of pastries, and other cafe items. I'll def return.

We were driving thru St. Louis en route to Arizona and, with a long drive ahead, wanted to meet our daughter for a quick breakfast as she happened to be in the St. Louis area to visit a friend as well. We identified Sunny Street via Yelp (duh) as a convenient place to meet, and boy were we not disappointed. Shout out to our server (name unknown) for pushing me to order more than I needed so I could taste the pancakes because that made the meal. To start, daughter and her friend both ordered the hearty breakfast with chocolate chip pancakes. Both enjoyed their meals, and said the pancakes were great. Wife ordered the same but with plain pancakes and liked that as well. Her bacon (which of course she didn't finish) was terrific. I was torn - I really wanted the country omelette which is basically the western plus sausage gravy with a biscuit but the bananas foster pancakes sounded so good. Our server convinced me to just go nuts and order the omelette and add half an order of pancakes. Her upsell training was on point, because the add wasn't cheap but indeed I needed to taste them. And like I said . . . . Best. Pancakes. Ever. The omelette was great. The biscuit was just ok. The pancakes were indescribably amazing. And I've had my fair share of pancakes of all types shapes and sizes. These are #1. Service was great, the restaurant is in a nice strip mall in a good area of town. It was busy but without a wait around 9:30am on a Saturday. If I lived in St. Louis I'd return often. Probably too often. This is a highly recommend.

To my disbelief, everything arrived within minutes! Trust, I was not complaining! The first couple bites of my eggs were quite splendid! They were cheesy, and filled with plenty of spinach and peppers as I had requested. I loved that the sourdough wasn't rock hard and already came buttered. That will forever be a win in my book. Usually I'll put some type of syrup on my meat, but the chicken sausage was fine without it. It had a nice flavor and was well-seasoned. Last but not least was the peach Bellini, which wasn't too sweet, but was refreshing and the perfect accompaniment for my breakfast aside from the water. Overall, I really enjoyed my first visit and must highlight the exemplary service from Mary and the staff. The quick turn around and good food sold me, so rest assured I'll be back!

And I don't remember what I had, lol! I liked it and I'll return to update this review if I remember what it was. A few of the employees -- people perhaps in their early 20s who did not appear to take their jobs as seriously as the cashier -- were engaged in a private conversation behind the counter. The cashier and customers had to wait a moment to get their attention about a menu item that had been discontinued, though the online menu we found had not been updated. We had a group of 8 people. We sat upstairs. I wasn't all over the setup of the space. Perhaps half of the seating is upstairs and the stairs have a bend/turn. The person bussing lost control of the tray. From what I could see, in her attempt to regain control of the tray, she fell and broke something or some glass cut her and she was bleeding quite a lot before she left for treatment. I think smaller trays may be in order, or a dumbwaiter, or perhaps an employee with better upper body control could do this task. Between that and a comment said by one of the waitstaff that I prefer not to repeat, I am hoping I caught them on an "off" day. We need more businesses like this one. The food was good, too, so I will return.
