I loved it! I saw their picture in St. Louis Magazine and instantly decided I needed to check them out. I came a little after 11 and there was no crowd. It's decorated beautifully with black and gold decor and has seating inside and outside. I was greeted warmly by everyone and when I went to the front, I showed the attendant the picture from the magazine. She apologized and said that was from their catering menu but did make other helpful suggestions. I went with the Kufta in Tahini sauce and got a bite size baklabyte and a semolina pastry. Within five minutes of me waiting, people started filling in left and right! Once it was done, the owner came and gave me instructions on how best to eat the dish. She was incredibly kind and personable and I enjoyed our conversation. When I got home, I did as she said and the dish didn't disappoint. The tahini sauce was tangy. I couldn't name all the spices but knew I kept wanting more. The meat was super tender, juicy, and flavorful. The bread was an excellent addition and was great for dipping. Somehow I managed to save room for dessert, and although they were bite-sized, each packed a powerful punch. The semolina pasty was light and flaky and had a semi-sweet filling. The baklabyte was incredible and had a good amount of pistachios, which I wasn't accustomed to but would certainly eat more and more of. Overall, my first visit was better than I ever expected and I can't wait to come back!

Some restaurants are just meant to be. I just returned from an unforgettable trip across Africa, and the moment I walked into Byte, the very first thing I saw was a stunning cheetah painting. Right now, I am the cheetah. The cheetah is me. Fast, curious, always exploring. And just like a cheetah, Byte is the fastest way to your heart. Owners Garam and Sal are peaches in the community! They've built a place that feels like home. Their cafe is all about the Levantine and Mediterranean cuisine inspired by family recipes. It's love! My friend and I shared the Freekeh Salad and the Sabich Sandwich, and both were outstanding. These are not your boring flavors that you can get at just any restaurant. Of course, I couldn't leave without dessert. I brought a few treats home, and suddenly I became the most popular person in my household. Worth every bite. St. Louis is lucky to have this.

Byte is my new favorite restaurant!!! I have been waiting YEARS for this to open, not even joking! I started ordering catering from Byte years ago and it was always a crowd pleaser! The new space is absolutely beautiful! It is the perfect place to meet for a meal, work, have a meeting, the possibilities are endless. We tried most of their pastries and fell in love! My fav pastry has to be their spinach pie but they were all outstanding. We ordered the Byte Mezze, Eggplant Carpaccio, and Shakshuka. I have been dreaming about every bite since! The eggplant is the best I've ever had. Be sure to save room for Halva bites because they're so good. Stop reading, get in your car, & go to Byte ASAP!

Awesome new Mediterranean coffee / breakfast shop off of Delmar. Got a date Latte and 2 sandwiches. Beautiful interior with a European modern design. Good amount of seating if you want to stay and get some work done Latte was strong, not too sweet and great. Both sandwiches tasted awesome, fresh, made to order. Chicken and beef were seasoned perfectly with a great sauce and veggies. Service was great, people were friendly; I think the owner was around talking to people

Great addition to the neighborhood. My iced latte was perfect. The pita bread was as good as any I've had - warm and chewy. I also enjoyed the hummus. The sabich (eggplant, veggie and hard boiled egg sandwich) was just too spicy for my personal taste, although the tehini dressing helped. The cauliflower was delicious, but sitting in oil. Come earlier in the day because it's quite busy at lunch and note it's closed on Wednesdays. The atmosphere is delightful, but a little noisy for a business meeting. Will I be back - of course! Hope they might add a few items, including a vegan dessert.

Considering that I'm originally from St Louis and I spend quite a lot of time in Kansas City, getting fantastic ribs in a neighborhood store is unbelievable. My eyes immediately did a quick scan trying to figure out where everything was that I saw in the video. Big cookie? Check (register); the chips? (Made in house and directly behind me on the shelf). The jackpot was the sandwiches which were located in the deli to the left of the register. I made my way back there and was surprised that not only did they have a hot bar, but they also had tons of deli meat, different cuts of meat, breads and vegetables! I took a quick scan of the menu and knew I wanted the Truffles Caprese but on foccacia instead of the bread it came with. I noticed the hot bar had shrimp and some chicken balls which I found out were chicken spiedini! While ordering my sandwich, I inquired about the spiedini and they let me try some. The spiedini was equally good, if not better than what they serve at Charlie Gitto's. It was packed full of flavor, had a nice char on the outside and seasoned to perfection, just how I like it. I ended up sticking with the sandwich and decided to browse the store while my sandwich was being made. I love how they have everything you need and at relatively good prices. I was surprised at how much alcohol they had- it seemed like they had more of that than the groceries! It wasn't long until my sandwich was ready and I decided to grab a chocolate chip cookie because you know I couldn't leave without getting something sweet. My first bite of my sandwich surpassed my expectations as the balsamic was so fresh as were the tomatoes and the burrata paired well with the rest of the ingredients. After a few bites, I felt the cookie calling my name. It was perfect in every way- soft, the right amount of chocolate chips, and the sea salt sealed the deal as far as the taste goes. My first visit to the Truffles Butchery Market was a success and I'm already trying to figure out when I can return!

Everything is ready quickly. I got the meatball sub and a side of pasta shells with Alfredo sauce. The portion of the sandwhiches are descent but seem to be more bread than meat. The meatball sub had an interesting texture almost like vegan meat and not a ground beef blend. It tasted ok but I wouldn't get it again. The red sauce was delicious, some of the better restaurant red sauce I've had. The portion of the side pasta was very generous and under $5. I didn't care for the Alfredo sauce. I love pepper but it was peppery and not much else for the flavor. I fixed in some of the red sauce to.make it taste a bit better. My bf got the chicken Parm.which I would've got but for the iffy reviews. I actually thought it was good from the small taste I had and if returned, I would get that. I did feel the potion was a bit small. The salad was good and the you can select your drink via fountain. The staff was nice and the restroom was clean. It seems like a nice place to have a small reception as well as the ambience is slightly dim and they have a private area.

I came here for the first time, wanting a sandwich and wanting to try a new spot. I was greeted as soon as I entered. Very quaint establishment: I KNOW the name of the place says "grocer", but I was still under the impression that this was a sandwich shop and it's not. Blame my hunger, ok??? It is a grocery store, and a small one at that. I head to the back to the deli and the butcher was super helpful with answering ALL my questions. Learned more about how everything works and more. All sandwiches are pre made and once they sell out, they're gone. There was a turkey sandwich and a roast beef one left. I opted for the turkey sandwich, asked for a side of remoulade sauce that's originally used for the shrimp po boy I believe. I bought a bag of chips to go with it. Total was about $15. The sandwich was delicious. LOADED with turkey and arugula it had a dill spread on it, and it was also sooo good. the remoulade helped give it more flavor and kick. All I needed was some onion slices (tear) I will definitely be back.

I planned to order online and do a pickup but the Green with Envy sandwich I wanted is not listed on their online order menu so I had to go in person. I stood in line for about 20 minutes which was expected, I know how busy it gets. When you get to the front to order it is chaos. Someone comes and asks what you want and then just yells it to the rest of the team. Both myself and the person in front of me got to the register and our food was not even started because they couldn't keep up with the orders and nothing was written down. Just very disorganized considering how popular it is. It was decorated nicely for Christmas but that didn't distract from the service. The green with envy is delicious but it didn't travel well; it pretty much melted and fell apart by the time I got home. I also ordered a Greek goddess salad which was nothing special. The ginger cookie was delicious and a nice size. Hopefully some changes are made to make this place run better because otherwise it just really isn't worth the trouble.
