    Rozanna Mixed Grill
    Keith J.

I absolutely loved this Mediterranean dining spot in West St. Louis County and I wish it was closer to me in Jeffco since I'd eat there often. I ordered the mixed grill and for a free appetizer they brought me a pita and trio of three pastes that I loved and was very tasty. The mixed grill was all the usual combination of skewed meats including beef kofta, lamb kabob skewer and chicken shish tarwook and wow! it was killer, and loved the side of deliciously spiced rice, grilled onion and tomato. I've lived and worked in the Middle East for years so I often miss the fine food I ate there so this was as close to the Middle East/Lebanese cuisine I've had in the St. Louis area. My server was friendly with great service and it didn't take long for my lunch but I wasn't in a hurry anyway. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is nice and I only wished they had freshly made ice tea instead of Lipton out of a bottle but happily they gave me fresh slices of lemon and a glass with ice for my tea.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Went to check out this place after a coworker recommended it to the bf, and so glad we did! Really surprised when we arrived on a Friday at 8 to an empty dining room, but oh well just meant best service ever just for us! [[HIGHLIGHT]]No belly dancer that we saw even tho their website did advertise every first Friday there was a performance so not sure if the lack of crowd determines this or what, but maybe one night we will get lucky![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered falafel to start and I got the lamb kebab and my date ordered the chicken shawarma plate. Falafel was THE BEST I've had yet, and I wish it was endless. The yogurt sauce they are served with compliments them perfectly. My lamb kebab was cooked just like I like and I really enjoyed this meal. The chicken shawarma was also really good and both plates had ample portions. This was a great date place, We will be back!

Wonderful, authentic Mediterranean food in an [[HIGHLIGHT]]inviting space[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] with friendly service. Love to go back any time I'm in that area of town.

Sorry, i dont remember. It's the crock with the spicy Indian sausage, potatoes, and mushrooms

I hate to do this. I abso-freaking-lutely hate doing this. As mentioned in other reviews we live nearby and come here on occasion. It just seems more and more like a failing business every time we go. It all started with them serving their soda in cans. I find that a terrible to make an extra $0.21 on a $3.50 (+/-) beverage. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I find this low class and very unlike a place you would expect to use as a date night with the nice table dressings, the amazing dishes and platters they use to serve the food on, and the quality/price of the food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Like I said in one of my other reviews, it's time for a lunch menu with lunch prices and lunch portions. This area is so overrun by businesses that have office employees run out to grab different peoples' food or having something door dashed for them and their coworkers. I could only imagine that Rozanna would be able to tap into that lunch time food run from the seventeen vet's office within five minutes' drive from here. Ok,seventeen might be a little overestimated but you catch the point. The car dealerships don't always want to have Culver's and subway, sometimes I can see them going for half an order of chicken shawarma sandwich for $7.95. That's competitive pricing. But, alas,I'm not a marketing guy. Just a casual observer. Lastly, your second star removed was from this last visit. The one think we've found consistent and something we always look forward to are the complimentary pita triangles with the three sample dips. Unfortunately we did not get ours tonight and, you'd think, with our faces starting to become known, they would go ahead and wait on us properly but we felt like an after-thought. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'd like to excuse that we were sitting outside and outside sitting often gets you forgotten about but there were other tables out there with us. So it shouldn't have been an issue.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The dilemma is.....do we tip on that night's service or do we tip on the fact that this could have been an off night, maybe the server had just found out that her lifelong goldfish she'd had since christmas 2009, Mr. Chompy Chomps, passed away over the weekend and her mind has been very distracted over the loss of a treasured friend. You never know. We decided to tip ignoring the faults, for the most part. Will we be back? Heck ya.

Cute little spot with very tasty food. My kiddo got a shawarma and fries, I got a chicken kebab with salad. Both were very tasty (the fries and shawarma also reheated well in the air fryer the next day). We also enjoyed the hummus and house starter dips. Plenty of parking in the large lot near Dierbergs. Very helpful staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was pretty empty, more folks should check this out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great flavors!!

The food here was so amazing. The menu is expansive and we got a lot of things and shared family style, which was a great idea because we got to try so many things! Food came out very fast and service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also had a lovely inviting ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The kibbeh and fattoush were really amazing. The shawarma wasn't my favorite as it was a bit too oily for me but I loved the mixed grill. Can't wait to go back!

Today we got here around 4:30 for a Birthday dinner. The inside was quiet and cold (physically cold). The waitress told us to sit by the wall tables so we did. Right away water was brought out along with menus. We ordered our food but decided to sit outside because it was too cold for comfort. Maybe it was because it was early in their opening and they were making it cold before the rush of folks came in. But it was too cold for us and the kids. Shortly, right after ordering within I would say probably five minutes the food came out. Two individuals in my party ordered lamb. One was the lamb chops and then then the other one was the lamb plate. I ordered just appetizer and the last person in our group ordered the lamb kebab. The lamb chop meal is $30 and came with three small pieces of lamb and a huge amount of rice. There was honestly more rice than there was protein. For the price of it being $30. It was a bit much, especially for how much meat was given and what was on the plate. The second lamb meal was good but felt like it was rushed and there wasn't a lot of spices on the meal. The kebab did not come out in a kebab form, but just pieces of chunk lamb on a flat pita bread. With the three different meals and two small appetizers the meal came out to be $110. It was a little bit more than what we planned on spending especially for the amount of food that we got. This was our first time there and was not sure what to expect. The server was nice. She did not talk much to us or ask us how the food was just asked us if we needed anything else. Maybe stress because it was early this place certainly seems like it would be better without taking the family.

Rozanna Review Definitely mixed feelings about this place. Let us begin with the good. What I liked: Service was good; waitress was friendly and helpful. Our waitress was knowledgeable about what was vegan on the menu. The Yalangy (aka dolmas/grape leaves) were delicious. The hummus, garlic potatoes, and Arabic fries were good. The falafel was different but ok. *They give you complimentary pita and 3-dip appetizers. *(More on this later) What I disliked: - Of the 3 appetizers only one was vegan (the hummus). The other 2 (black bean dip and garlic mashed potato dip) are made with yogurt. Unlike chips and salsa at Mexican restaurants, there's no refills, so you will NOT get full on the small portion they provide. - Their baba ganoush is called Moutabbal Eggplant and it's not vegan; they put yogurt in it. So sad and utterly unnecessary. - Vegetarian Platter is not vegan (you can veganize it by removing the Moutabbal Eggplant and asking for extra of something else). For $15.75 you get 1 falafel, 1 dolmas/Yalangy, and small portions of the other offerings. Because I subbed for extra hummus and potatoes, my platter photo appears more plentiful than it really is. Be ye not fooled. So even though the dolmas (Yalangy) was delicious, I'm not ever going to be a fan of skeet portions atop high prices. I'd rather stick with Jafra and Taste of Lebanon. The waitress did suggest that I try their Vegetarian Claypot next time. She claims it's vegan and delicious. I'm in this area a lot, so I'm not opposed to trying something else. I'm curious to see if I come with all vegans next time, will they modify the free appetizers.

First time trying this place and it was good! It was early in the afternoon not busy just a great atmosphere. They give a complimentary trio that's absolutely delicious! My favorite one was the garlic mashed potatoes. The main dish was the grilled plate. I enjoyed the lamb the most but did not care at all for the beef. The hummus was good but not the best. I'm only giving 4 stars because for some reason it took about 10min to get my soda and the restaurant was not busy. Not sure what happened there but that's way to long to wait for a soda. Otherwise a nice place.

Hummus with complimentary pita bread and appetizer dips. Delicious!

Decided to look for another Mediterranean restaurant and found a our new go to. Rozanna located in Manchester, MO a short drive from St. Louis is another solid restaurant. We decided to visit during the weekend for lunch and was able to be seated without any issues. Rozanna has seating for both inside and outside dining, as well as authentic Mediterranean music that will make you dance in your seat. Rozanna also looks to accommodate larger groups, but I would recommend calling ahead to see is they can seat your party. Rozanna's appetizer menu had everything you would expect, but they also serve a complimentary dip platter with black bean hummus, garlic mashed potatoes as well as a delicious beet hummus served with plenty of pita bread. The platter was a solid dish and crush it all. Lunch and dinner menu also had what you expect from sandwiches and entrees. We went with the chicken shawarma sandwich with fries and seasoned perfectly and served hot off the fire. Next, we ordered a chicken flaka platter with pita bread rice and garlic spread, another great dish seasoned perfectly. Finally, our last dish was the mixed grill, a trio of lamb, beef and chicken kabobs served with rice, pita bread and garlic spread. Honestly, Rozanna is the best Mediterranean restaurant we found to date! Service was excellent, patient and extremely knowledgeable in explaining everything on the menu. There was so much more to try and will be coming back for more. Tables were serviced quickly and always checking in to see if we needed anything. If you're in the mood for a great experience, Rozanna will deliver!

    Chicken Shawarma Plate

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was nicely decorated[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the service was spectacular. Everything we ate and drank was filled with flavor. We had cocktails, cheese fatayer, musakaa, fattoush, tabbouleh, chicken shawarma plate, chicken kafta, Shish Tawook Rozanna, and baklava. So good! Adding this to our list of regular restaurants!

Went for dinner on a Friday night. Got lucky and was there for a belly dancing display. Seems like a regular Friday night thing, around 7 pm, if I remember right. The restaurant is small and has a long bar along the side of 1 wall. Tables are close to each other, so be prepared to be friendly with those around you, as you will probably bump into each other at some point. Food all looked good and we tried a couple of appetizers (musakaa and kibbeh). The dips and pita that come out early were a fun surprise. My wife got the lamb shank and I tried the shish twook rozanna, which was delicious. My wife was a bit disappointed, because the veges that came with her lamb were clearly frozen and reheated, making them look and taste like school cafeteria food. For $25, we had higher hopes. We finished the meal with Turkish coffee and a dessert, znoud el sett, which was very good. We will be back to try other things soon!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great food, service, ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They start you off with a basket of pita and a selection of cold pastes (bean, beet, and garlic potatoes) and all of them are packed with flavor! We ordered chicken shawarma wraps and they were piping hot and delicious.

I was excited to finally try this place even though I was warned about the baklavas being too dry. Sadly that's true. I dint think they are made fresh. They lack syrupy. I understand they don't have much food traffic but cutting down on the types of baklava and freshly making them should solve that problem. Probably the second worst baklava I've had out here. I see why they make shakes though. Since they don't sell ans have leftover stock. We initially sat down to eat but it was so awkward that there's no music and so quiet. My husband said they don't vacuum between the chairs which were full of crumbs. We eventually got our food to go. The second issue is the food. We got a sucuk flatbread and ans egg pide. This is not a pide, it's just pizza bread. Cheese is mozzarella, should have been beyaz cheese. Middle eastern cuisine doesn't use this cheese. My egg was raw and just throw in a corner. Could have saved myself money by just getting domino's, at least my food would be cooked. If you want quality, try Balkan treat box, Aya Sofia or Garbanzo. I would also like to state that there is one employee that works front and back. I didn't see him washing his hands once going back into the kitchen to handle my food. Seems like there a big hygiene issue

I read other reviews and immediately that I wanted to try their lemonade with mint, which was heavenly. It was extremely refreshing, not too sweet, not too sour, tiny chopped leaves of mint floating around like confetti. I ordered the lamb shank, a plate of pickles, and also ordered falafel and avocado dip to go. The lamb was very well seasoned and fall of the bone tender. The accompanying cucumber bits in yogurt sauce was refreshing. The side of mushrooms with carrots and corn kernels that came with the dish was mediocre, particularly since the consistency and look of the mushrooms looked like they came from a can, but I may be wrong. The plate of pickles was delightful. The parking lot is well lit and the outside was very clean. The building used to be an Italian restaurant, but this family bought it and moved in. We were greeted upon immediately coming in the door and we were seated very quickly. The interior is very nicely decorated and was very clean and organized. Everyone greeted us with a smile. After we sat, we sat for quite a bit of a time before the waitress came by and asked for our drink orders. The owner (I assume) came by and asked what we would like to drink and he got those for us. The waitress was very slow in bringing refills and taking our order. They were not busy. Though she was slow, she was very polite with great customer service. So...the food!! OMG - we tried lots of different things. We ordered the sampler plate (Mezze) which was hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel, bread and arabic salad. Please, remember this was our first try of this type of food and the texture took a minute to get beyond, but the flavors are amazing. They know what they are doing with their seasoning. I was very impressed with the appetizers. Then the meal comes - I had the Chicken Tawook Plate with the Fattoush Salad. The salad was made with all fresh ingredients and the picture in the menu looked exactly like what I received. It was fresh and invigorating with flavor. The Chicken Tawook just popped with flavor in my mouth. I couldn't wait to share with my friend. I have to admit, I was not a fan of the rice, but it was cooked perfectly. Just wasn't flavors I enjoy, but my friend really liked it. My friend wanted to try a couple of things so she ordered the Musakhao with 1/2 grilled chicken. I've never really had chicken melt in my mouth before, until now! It comes on a flat bread with grilled onions, but the chicken is cooked to perfection! I cannot say enough about this chicken. She also ordered the cheese Manakeesh which is very similar to pizza, but they do something crazy right with this dish. Calling it a pizza is so very wrong. This isn't like a traditional "American" pizza. It is very hard to explain, just go and try it!! And dessert - I have had quite a bit of baklava in my lifetime. This was the best I have ever tasted. You take a bite and it just completely melts in a caramel flavor in your mouth. Do not get just one. My friend ordered the cake that is very similar to tiramisu, I don't remember the name and it isn't on their online menu at this time. She said it was to die for. This is a little bit on the expensive side of dining, but the quality of this food is worth every single penny. My friend and I spent $106 total, for all this food. So, it's not crazy expensive. Regular fountain drinks are $3 each. My over all review is give this place a try, they really deserve it. Try something new if you haven't tried this type of dining, this is a wonderful place for your first go at it. And when you do - leave them a review, it would be great to keep them busy and around, since we don't really have anything like this in the area.

Last night, I stopped by Sultan Mediterranean before heading over to Word Up at Hot Java Bar. I'm…read moreglad I joined the waitlist when I did, as the wait was a bit longer than expected even on the list. The ambiance inside was like a cozy cafe with Mediterranean vibes, especially at the register. We were seated and already knew what we wanted. I ordered an Arnold Palmer, and the mint in the lemonade was refreshingly delicious. For my meal, I opted for the Chicken and Beef Combo. The grilled chicken kabob was incredibly tasty, and the beef kabob was bursting with flavor. It was served with rice, grilled tomato, and a cucumber and tomato salad, all of which complemented the main dishes beautifully. The tzatziki sauce was some of the best I've had in the city. This place is always bustling, and I can see why. The food was absolutely delicious, and my leftovers were just as good as they were when I first ate them. I'm already looking forward to trying more of the menu on my next visit, which will be sooner rather than later since every dish I saw looked mouthwatering. If you're searching for a Mediterranean restaurant in The Grove, you've found it. The staff was also very friendly and attentive.

Our little supper club came in for dinner on Saturday. They do not take reservations but the wait…read morewas worth it. Our party got there a little before 6. We waited around 20-30 minutes to get a table to accommodate the 7 people in our party. We stood around by the entrance while we waited. When we were finally seated, they put us on the second dining room which has a better ambiance and much more quieter than the main dining room. Someone brought us a pitcher of water which fell slightly short of giving all 7 of us full glasses. Some of us ordered their lemonade mix. I had the one with pomegranate which tasted fresh and made in house. We shared 3 different appetizers: babaganoush, hummus and saksuka. They brought us a basket of naan. They were huge and still warm. The only thing I would have asked for would have been that the naans be cut into smaller pieces so people are not touching naans that others will have to eat. Our appetizers were all excellent. The babaganoush, specifically has fantastic flavors. This might have been the best babaganoush I have ever tasted! For my entree, I ordered the lamb kabob served with some dressed rice and salad. Okay, usually I don't care for rice. It's bland and pretty boring but they actually seasoned their rice here so well that I've completely forgotten I was eating rice. The kabob was so flavorful like it has been marinating for a while. The meat was tender and juicy. We didn't do any dessert as we were all very full in the end. At least 4 out of 7 brought home leftovers. My one friend had made a comment about his pilau being larger than his head! Service was good. You pay up front. If you come in with a large party and ask to split the check, they charge $1 per card. We asked to have our bill split 7 ways and then 2, 2, 2 and 1. She said she understood but then did the math wrong anyway. We didn't bother and just paid the even quarter split and my friends refunded me the difference. Other than a few nuisances, it was a great dining experience. No joke, this place has some seriously good eats. And to be honest, I can't wait to come back!
