I'm giving this a 5star for sooooo many reasons. Place was clean. Baristas were knowledgeable. Baristas commiserated with me when my card didn't work. (It worked everywhere else I went that afternoon. It said it wasn't authorized. Um, ok.) Anyway, great places to sit in and outside. They have records for sale. And finally... The CROFFLE. (Yes, I know it's not normally capitalized but it deserves to be treated that important. This had crunch, ham, melty cheese, was moist and oh so VERY good!! My iced chia was good but that CROFFLE that's what I'll be back for. With cash of course. ;)

The breakfast burrito here is amazing and you can get it without bacon to be vegetarian! The salsa verde it came with was great as well! The coffee was delicious and the syrup is homemade as well! The staff were friendly and the coffee and food came out quick! The theming is super cute with bicycles and vinyl theming!

Brand new and another addition to the Upshot Franchise, this place opened Friday, 9/12, and has been booming ever since. I haven't been to this place since it was the former coffee shop, so I was excited to see what/if any changes Upshot would make. I came in mid-afternoon and it was packed! There's a lot to look at, so brace yourself! When you first walk in, you can't help but notice how spacious it is, as well as the ample seating. My attention was immediately drawn to the bike merch on the left and then drifted to the front where the good stuff was. I was immediately greeted by the person behind the counter and she explained the treats in the display case were seasonal and rotating. They had quite an assortment from quiches, waffles, cookies, bread, and scones! I took a glance at the menu (they offer breakfast, lunch, and a plethora of coffees, teas, and lattes. While I'm not a coffee drinker, I do enjoy tea from time to time, especially whilst under the weather. Since it's hot out, I opted for something light and went with the Mango Magic. She asked if I wanted it hot or cold and I said, "cold". While it was an extremely hard decision, I opted not to get any sweets and stick with the drinks only. While my drink was being made, I had a chance to walk around and I really liked what I saw. It's a chill vibe, and not stuffy how'd you expect most coffee shops to be. I got my drink to go and was on my way. The first sip wasn't as sweet as I had hoped but was still refreshing, nonetheless. Overall, I see this place being here for a long time, and I know I'll def. visit when I'm in the area!

In addition to great cappuccinos they have a large and delicious breakfast burrito. Food and coffee are great, service is good and outside dining is awesome when the weather is nice. It's a regular spot for us to grab breakfast.

I have been looking for a good breakfast spot in STL for years. So far this has been it. They've been consistently serving me the best food ever and I'll continue to keep on coming. I recommend the lox bagel or the breakfast burrito!

Stopped in by Flyby by Upshot since it recently replaced Road Crew. Loved that they retained the Road Crew spirit and biking touches while making it their own coffee space. Love the croffle, salad and breakfast burrito. Nice spot close to TGP.

Had a wonderful first visit to Upshot in the Grove! The inside was super cute and retro-looking. The server who took our order was super friendly and helpful. Our iced vanilla brown sugar lattes hit the spot as well as the ham and Swiss waffle snack! Cute neighborhood with street parking. can't wait to go back!

Super cute coffee shop -- lots of quirky decor and upbeat music. Seems like a place to hang out, study, and just vibe. For reference, I'm a sweet coffee kinda girl (like a glorified dessert in a cup kinda situation) --- like I should call my dentist and schedule an appointment. So, with that in mind, this coffee was on the bitter side for me... Overall, I recommend giving it a try! (:

friendly service, very clean, and excellent food. i ordered the highly popular breakfast burrito. it was DELICIOUS. i love that they used homemade coffee syrups for lattes. i think the latte was pretty good. but the food was unreal.

Best breakfast burrito in all of STL! No but seriously, we've been talking about it since we left. Great coffee too and always love the vibes here.

I grabbed a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel with avocado... a classic, but it was perfectly made and absolutely hit the spot. Enjoyed every bite out on their lovely patio in the back. Definitely a good spot!

This is my second time visiting this neighborhood coffee shop in a residential area of Tower Grove…read moresouth. It is LGBT friendly and affirming. It's definitely a safe place. There is a one person unisex bathroom. They have an entrance with a few steps or a full ramp to enter. It is street parking only and I've always been able to get a close parking spot as many residents in the neighborhood walk there. There are scattered tables throughout the restaurant. There are plants in the front window, local artists artwork on the wall for sale and a glass case full of goodies. You order at the counter and they bring your order to the table when it's ready. On this visit, I ordered a breakfast bowl that had potatoes, eggs, cheese, spinach and tomatoes, with a side of toast. I also ordered a black pepper & rosemary scone, and a cold brew coffee. Everything was absolutely delicious. Besides this establishment having a wonderful and welcoming vibe, the staff is top-tier. They were so incredibly kind, friendly and patient. Absolutely love them!

The staff is always friendly and helpful, the food comes out quickly, and the shaded patio is a great place to sit and enjoy your meal. The espresso shake was absolutely delicious, but the Lou Melt was the standout of my visit. The bread had the perfect crunch on the outside while staying soft on the inside, and unlike many steak burgers , it wasn't greasy at all. The French Dip was just okay. It could have used a bit more flavor, and I wish there had been more meat on the sandwich. The bread, however, was fresh, airy, and incredibly soft, which helped make it enjoyable. The Caesar salad was another highlight. The kale was massaged just enough to make it tender while still keeping a nice crunch, and every bite left me wanting more. The Greek salad wasn't quite as memorable. The dressing tasted mostly like oil with only a slight hint of vinegar, so it felt like it was missing the bold, tangy flavors I was expecting. I also ordered an iced vanilla latte, which was excellent. It was smooth, not overly sweet, and didn't have the bitter taste that some coffee drinks can have. Overall, Mokabe's offers a warm, inviting atmosphere, consistently friendly service, and a menu with several standout items. While a couple of dishes could use a little more seasoning, I'd happily come back for the Lou Melt, Caesar salad, coffee, and the overall experience.

It is easy to pass by the place because biggest sign on building is for donut shop that previously occupied the space. We were the only people in dining there for most of the time. The waiter was nice but a little different too. He was happy to answer questions and share his thoughts on menu items. In fact he actually hung out at our table a little too long- we wanted to get on with our conversations. Ha. Anyway I had the avocado toast with an egg on top- it was huge order. And very good. They sprinkle crunchy mix on top of the avocado- seeds mostly and lettuce under it - a great combo of texture and flavor esp with a creamy green sauce with it. I tasted my friends Milque Toast and it was very good but definitely sweet. Think bread pudding.

It was interesting and visually impressive, although I would say the taste may not be everyone's cup of tea. The Norwegian pancakes were also beautifully presented. They looked very much like crêpes and, to me, tasted very similar to crêpes as well. The coffee was probably one of the more interesting parts of the experience. It was made with Indonesian coffee and green Indonesian spices that gave it a unique color and appearance that reminded me a little of matcha. Definitely something different to try. I initially ordered bacon and eggs, but unfortunately they were out of bacon. What surprised me was that there really wasn't another side available to substitute for it, so I ended up choosing something completely different. I also asked about sampling something before ordering and learned that they do not offer samples. Overall, this is a very visually appealing and unique dining experience with some interesting flavor combinations. I think it's a great place for someone who enjoys trying something a little different, but some of the flavors and menu options may not appeal to everyone.
