Food was so good but DO NOT get the croffle. We had the breakfast burrito (which was fab) and the nutella and ham and cheese (pictured) croffles. Thought we were eating cheese but it was a glob of completely raw dough in the middle... Coffee and burritos were wonderful. I was already familiar with Upshot Coffee's game from a visit to their Clayton location a few weeks ago. I tried the breakfast burrito, and it honestly changed my life. I was able to get off drugs and reconnect with my family as the result of eating a burrito. You can imagine my excitement, then, when it was announced that a group I run with was meeting at this Tower Grove South location. I wasn't crazy about getting up early the day after America's 250th birthday, and there was the slight possibility that I'd barf during my run around Tower Grove Park (people might think I was back on drugs), but I was willing to risk it for the, erm, burrito. Actually, it occurred to me that I might try something else, for the sake of citizen food journalism. Then my decision was made for me when I saw that they carry a bagel with lox. I've eaten literally a million bagels with lox, going back to the 1980s, but only either at home or at places that aren't very good, like Einstein Bros. Alas, I was informed that the bagel with lox was currently unavailable, because they were out of lox. Which struck me as odd, given that lox is not served fresh. It's not like they had to go pull it out of the water that morning or have it flown in from Alaska, packed in ice. Was there a run on the lox due to a nearby media-industry convention? Did they accidentally leave it sitting out overnight? I imagine that would smell crazy. I went with the Everything, which may have been the better choice anyway. Named after the famous bagel seasoning, it's essentially a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel with cream cheese and a tomato. But describing it that way doesn't really do it justice. You have to attempt to wrap your lips around it in order to truly appreciate it. No Diddy. It's the bagel-sandwich equivalent of their legendary burrito, and it might be just as good. The bacon and egg are perfectly cooked, with the egg just slightly underdone and the bacon nice and crisp but still with a little bit of chew. The helping of cream cheese is weirdly generous, to the point where just the cream cheese on a bagel would be a fairly substantial sandwich. The tomato, which was a little bit tart, made for a nice accent. It comes wrapped in one of those diapers they used to use on some of the bigger burgers at Hardee's, to keep it from falling apart the moment you try to bite into it. You'd still eat all the individual elements using your fingers, because you're a savage and because they're that good, but it wouldn't be the same. It's a testament to the thoughtfulness and the ingenuity of the kitchen staff at Upshot that they thought to do that. read more

I'm giving this a 5star for sooooo many reasons. Place was clean. Baristas were knowledgeable. Baristas commiserated with me when my card didn't work. (It worked everywhere else I went that afternoon. It said it wasn't authorized. Um, ok.) Anyway, great places to sit in and outside. They have records for sale. And finally... The CROFFLE. (Yes, I know it's not normally capitalized but it deserves to be treated that important. This had crunch, ham, melty cheese, was moist and oh so VERY good!! My iced chia was good but that CROFFLE that's what I'll be back for. With cash of course. ;) read more

The breakfast burrito here is amazing and you can get it without bacon to be vegetarian! The salsa verde it came with was great as well! The coffee was delicious and the syrup is homemade as well! Was so good I forgot to take any pictures! I've been to one of the other locations before and was excited to see this location was new to the tower grove south area! I stopped in on a cold day to get a coffee for me and my friend. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for food but they have a delicious looking menu. The space is large and seems like a good place to go if you wanted to study or work from it. The food menu looked great and they also have a bunch of cool looking drinks. I kept things simple and ordered two mocha lattes and they were ready pretty quick. They have cute cups and the barista who took my order was so nice! Would love to come here again soon! read more

Brand new and another addition to the Upshot Franchise, this place opened Friday, 9/12, and has been booming ever since. I haven't been to this place since it was the former coffee shop, so I was excited to see what/if any changes Upshot would make. I came in mid-afternoon and it was packed! There's a lot to look at, so brace yourself! When you first walk in, you can't help but notice how spacious it is, as well as the ample seating. My attention was immediately drawn to the bike merch on the left and then drifted to the front where the good stuff was. I was immediately greeted by the person behind the counter and she explained the treats in the display case were seasonal and rotating. They had quite an assortment from quiches, waffles, cookies, bread, and scones! I took a glance at the menu (they offer breakfast, lunch, and a plethora of coffees, teas, and lattes. While I'm not a coffee drinker, I do enjoy tea from time to time, especially whilst under the weather. Since it's hot out, I opted for something light and went with the Mango Magic. She asked if I wanted it hot or cold and I said, "cold". While it was an extremely hard decision, I opted not to get any sweets and stick with the drinks only. While my drink was being made, I had a chance to walk around and I really liked what I saw. It's a chill vibe, and not stuffy how'd you expect most coffee shops to be. I got my drink to go and was on my way. The first sip wasn't as sweet as I had hoped but was still refreshing, nonetheless. She was leaning all over the counter while we were ordering. Didn't seem interested at all, actually seemed annoyed. The food looked good but we didn't try it. I got a mocha and she got a maple bourbon latte - both were dumped out. Not a fan at all. It was actually pretty loud inside, I wouldn't say it's a good place to go and get cozy. Feels more modern and upbeat compared to a traditional coffee shop. It was cute inside but I hate to say I won't go out of my way to come here again read more

Stopped in by Flyby by Upshot since it recently replaced Road Crew. Loved that they retained the Road Crew spirit and biking touches while making it their own coffee space. Love the croffle, salad and breakfast burrito. Nice spot close to TGP. read more

Stopped in on Sunday to grab two drinks on the go. Lots of people at tables but not many people in line for coffee. The person who took our order was not particularly friendly and did not listen well. I ordered a London Fog but asked for no sugar or vanilla. Unfortunately this was clearly not abided by because the drink was nauseatingly sweet. Undrinkable. Sadly we had already left before I took a sip because we had somewhere to be and it was too hot for a bit. Frustrating because it was $8 after tipping. I have been to this coffee shop twice since it has opened and unfortunately haven't been super impressed with the quality of the coffee drinks. The atmosphere is super cute and welcoming, and the service isn't too bad for how busy they've been and how new they are. However, both coffees I've had have left me wanting more. I got the Baked Pumpkin Latte the first time, and it had no taste of pumpkin in it. It almost tasted like they forgot the pumpkin, but my friend ordered the same drink on the next visit and had the same experience. The second time around, I decided to get an iced oatmilk latte with syrup. It was a little better but still tasted watered down. Based on my little experience with lattes, I think they may be pouring directly on the ice and the ice is melting. Either way, I'm hopeful they will improve since it's such a cute spot in a great location. read more
