I really don't get how this place has good ratings. I stopped by today and the whole experience was just gross. Every table I saw was covered in crumbs and sticky spots, I actually had to grab a napkin and wipe mine down myself because the staff was too busy hanging out behind the counter to care. The service is insanely slow. It took forever just to get a simple coffee, and when my Cole Turkey Stacker finally came out, it was such a letdown. The bread was dry and there was barely any meat on it--definitely not worth what they're charging. To make it worse, the ventilation in there is terrible. I walked out smelling like old, burnt fry oil and the smell is literally stuck in my clothes now. Between the bad food and the lack of basic cleaning, I'm definitely not coming back. I ordered two oat milk ($1 more for oat milk or alt milks) lattes and it took nearly 20 minutes to get my order. If you're in a hurry, this place is not for you. Additionally, I watched as the barista poured whole milk into two frother pitchers and made my lattes. Hartford has been a TG staple for ever. I had not been here in a long time, so I'll focus on that. I was very excited to learn they have a patio and a second room, for people that are going to be quiet. If I had more freedom during the day, I'd probably be in here daily. A really nice cafe to spend time in. People have all been nice when I've ordered. I go for the chai, which is not as spicy as I like, but a nice substitution while I avoid Dtarbucks. This coffee house has quite a bit going for it. The food is good to excellent, there's a wide range of options, and everything I've tried has been consistently tasty. It's also a comfortable space, with plenty of seating and a layout that makes it a great place to settle in and study or get some work done. The staff are friendly and welcoming. My only downside is the coffee itself. While it generally tastes good, it tends to come across as a bit weak, without much body or depth. It's certainly drinkable, but it doesn't quite match the high standard set by the food and atmosphere. Overall, though, this is a place I'd happily return to, especially for the food, the space, and the friendly service. When I really need a great cup of coffee though I either make it at home or go somewhere else. read more

I love Hartford Coffee so much! First off, the patio/ sitting area outside is so cute. Lots of space for dogs and a great spot to soak in the sunshine. This particular visit, we walked in and the line was moving quickly. I love their breakfast sandwiches, so I ordered one with bacon (egg and cheese) on an everything bagel. I also ordered a sugar free iced latte. My total was 12$- it's truly incredible how their prices are so low when everything seems so high. Everyone is always so kind and pleasant that is working. The sandwich was super great and simple. The latte was delicious as well. Their coffee always gives me the caffeine jolt I need. The staff is incredibly friendly and the coffee is good, with not too bad of prices! It wasn't very busy when I stopped by (midafternoon during the week). Plenty of parking along the streets. The bathroom and kids area were literally so dirty. Actual dirt and dust bunnies all around the kids area, all of the toys have a layer of grime on them. I've always driven by Hartford Coffee but this was my first time going in and I loved it! Everything from the food, drinks and environment were what I needed. There is lots of seating with large tables perfect for working or studying. Also a LOT of outlets. High ceilings with tons of light and windows which I'm sure if it weren't a gloomy day would've offered plenty of natural light. I've gone to Hartford for something like 10 years. I've put up with the wildly inconsistent food because I liked some of the things on the menu. Great flavors. But do you know how many times I've had raw potato salad? Countless. How many burnt or raw uncut pitas? My friend and I got lunch on Sat this last weekend. "Taste this hummus it tastes different". It almost always tastes different. Taste it. It was fucking rancid. One order and we had raw inedible potato salad, uncut pita straight out of a bag, and rancid hummus. I'm going to stop wasting money here. My cousin also stopped going here so she didn't have to weigh her coffee and see how much see got ripped off when getting home. It was constant. I have been fortunate to have Hartford Coffee Co within walking distance during my stay in St. Louis. The locally-owned neighborhood coffee shop sells organic coffee blends from Ethiopia, Brazil, Columbia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Peru, Bolivia, New Guinea, and Mexico in light, medium, and dark roasts. The beans are roasted quickly while suspended on a bed of hot air (fluid bed air roasting) and the result is amazing. In addition to the outstanding coffee, breakfast and lunch are served all day. The prices are more reasonable than any I have seen in quite some time! The breakfast bowl and the Greek salad are both scrumptious and the portions are beyond satisfying! On-street parking within the neighborhood is easily found. Several outdoor tables are available, and indoor seating is available too. Each table has its own electrical outlet!! Such a welcoming space. Every employee was masked and masks are required when not seated inside the shop. When visiting the St. Louis area I highly recommend this shop! read more

I adore Hartford Coffee so much and am thankful it's in my neighborhood! Recently tried the Salted Carmel Coconut Latte and it was amazing!! It's a great place to get some work done if you're out and about and need to crack the ole lap top open during the week but can get hectic on the weekends. They make a variety of gooey butter cakes and they're always a hit to take to an event if you need to bring a dish. If you're in a hurry the pre-made coffee in carafes is always a fresh, delicious and affordable option. Went here early on a Sunday morning for an order pickup. They weren't busy, so although the app said it would be ready in 30 min, it was more like 10-15. For order pickup, they are very organized. They have a set of numbered shelves, and when you get the message that your order is ready, it gives you the shelf number. Super simple. If you'd rather stay and eat, they have seating inside and outside. For the chorizo sammie, I would suggest adding something. It was good and larger than I expected, but I think this would have been even better with salsa, jalapeños, or one of the other options. With its location, if you're going to something in Tower Grove Park, this would be a really convenient spot to get a snack or some caffeine. I was surprised at how close it was. Overall, good neighborhood coffee shop with nothing too pretentious. There are lots of great coffee places near Tower Grove Park and Hartford Coffee Comapny is definitely one of them. I visited for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed the variety of food and drink options on their menu. The Bagel and Lox featured an abundance of cream cheese and salmon and was delicious toasted on an everything bagel - I also enjoyed my standard coffee choice (the red eye) in the nice, spacious interior. I look forward to visiting again when weather's a bit nicer, with all of the outdoor seating options available. They are rude and evil; the vibe is atrocious and rotten; it is obvious that several staff are contemptuous towards customers, raising questions about their hiring practices. They require their customers to do physical labor (put own plates and dishes away), and are completely insensitive to people's disabilities, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and medical privacy. If you don't put your plates away, they rudely confront you in other customers. The kitchen manager (Logan) was extremely rude and should not be allowed to work there. He refused to write down the owners' names or the store phone number, forcing me to email myself the information; and provided no receipt for my full refund that was promised but not processed. He intentionally was being difficult and disdainful, again, in front of many customers. Why should anyone feel comfortable there? I have not received call back as requested nor the refund I was promised. Hartford Coffee should liquidate and dissolve in order to stop mistreating the community. Update: REFUND still not received as of Nov. 27, 2023. They are a bunch of liars and thieves. read more
