Awesome staff and food. Biscuit sandwiches and the cinnamon roll are great. The biscuits are light yet don't fall apart when used for their sandwiches, perfect!

I came for a quick breakfast before an appointment and saw there's a french toast special!! I LOVE french toast and most definitely anything blueberry-lemon flavor. The plate was presented beautifully! It consists of a lemon curd/sauce on the bottom, 2 crispy french toast sticks that are soo soft on the inside and topped with blueberry compote, thick whipped cream and fresh mint! I scraped the plate. Best french toast dish I've ever had in St. louis.

I found this gem of a spot walking around Washington ave On a chill Saturday the ambiance was a lil busy from takeout order and diners waiting to be seated I enjoyed my biscuit and even had some left to take home My server was the sweetest she gave me her top pics and I ended up with the biscuits and gravy ... it's so good came out pretty fast Hot and made from scratch.

    Goat, carbonara tots, and OG

We came here for a nice quick brunch/lunch option. Place is relatively small with limited seating options. Staff was friendly, ordering was easy, and food came out relatively fast (although we were the only ones there when we initially came in). We ordered the Goat biscuit, Carbonora Tots, and the OG biscuit. The goat biscuit is decent. Biscuit was moderately tender/flaky, but not as much as it could've been. The fried chicken patty is okay, not dry. The best part about it was the Calabrian chili aioli, although they didn't give enough of it. I think the OG biscuit was slightly better; I feel the flavors were more dynamic there and didn't fall as flat. The carbonara tots were good in concept, but the execution landed a little short; it tasted like carbonara, but carbonara is such a textural dish so the concepts maybe don't mesh as well. Perhaps, it needed a carbonara-inspired sauce rather than just bits of egg york? I think the common theme is that all of the dishes were very flat, the predominant flavor was salty, and the waves of flavors and textures and balance that I expected never came. Overall, okay place. Probably wouldn't come back. 3/5 stars.

absolutely superb. small but intimate, spotless kitchen, very welcoming staff. i love the added detail of using playing cards as order numbers while you wait. i've ordered the "papa" for the second time now because it is such a simple but perfectly done flavor combination. the tater tots are crispy and delish. this place is a weekend treat to myself. don't change a thing about this place!!

The biscuits are big and fluffy. The Cinnamon Rolls are outta this world. So you cannot go wrong at TBJ. My recent visit was to kill time before picking a friend up who was his doctor a block away. The Biscuit Joint is primarily a grab-n-go type restaurant. There was seating at the high bar top and some counter sitting in the front window. Giving you the choice of watching the magic of making biscuits or watching the public walk by outside. I choose to watch people cruising by. I picked my stool and placed my table marker so it could be easily seen. I was #10. It didn't take long and my "Goat" with a side of Tots was presented to me. The young man (I assumed he was an owner) who brought me my order, informed me that he was holding my to-go Cinnamon Roll behind the counter and to pick it up after I finished my biscuit sandwich. The Goat is a a fried chicken biscuit, with bread and butter pickles and calabrian chili aioli. The chicken was crispy and the aioli gave just the right amount of flavor and heat. Pickle fans know, Bread & Butter on any sandwich makes it top notch. Typically, I am not a tots man. However, tots paired with a biscuit sammie is a perfect combination. My only complaint would be that for the price, I wish the tots were included instead of having to add them as a side. When finished dining, I retrieved my Cinnamon Roll from behind the counter. They had it all bagged up and ready to go. It was sitting on top of the ovens, so it was still nice and warm. I did not eat the roll until later in the day. Being avid recycler, I was pleated to see their to-go vessels are eco-friendly. I plated and microwaved my roll for just a few seconds and enjoyed while watching Jeopardy. OMG - it was so-so good. I can only imagine how delicious it would have been if I had eaten it fresh in the restaurant. I'm an old farm boy, so I have got to go back and try the Biscuits and Gravy.

The food was amazing! The owners were very nice ma sincere. When asked questions about items in the memo they had no problem explaining each item. You can tell they care about the foo they put out. The gravy was just the right consistency and the biscuits were soft and fit the dish perfect. The chicken and waffles were good. The slight kick on the breading of the chicken added just enough to the dish. The waffle was just the right amount of crispy and too soggy. The loaded tots were crisp and the sauce was epic! We even got try a new sauce they just made ! Will definitely be back.

Came on a semi-crowded afternoon. But was able to find good seating. I was greeted with a smile and kind service. I ordered biscuits with chicken sausage to eat there. Then a biscuit n chicken sandwich n cinnamon roll to go. The place was clean and lively. The biscuit on the chicken sausage gravy had a unique dense texture for a biscuit. Almost tasted like cornbread. Very good and hearty meal. The biscuit-chicken sandwich was disappointing; the chicken patty was thin n didn't have a great flavor. Cinnamon roll tasted great.

An incredible must try breakfast spot! My husband and I tried the Dally P (fried chicken, bacon, cheese, honey dijonaise) and an order of breakfast sausage biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were light and fluffy. The gravy was rich and savory and I loved the hint of sweetness from the maple syrup drizzled on top. The honey dijonaise on the Dally P was the perfect sauce to balance the saltiness from the bacon, cheese and chicken. Both of these are worthy of a reorder next visit, but I'd love to try more of their menu! The staff was friendly and helpful. Food was made to order but came out quickly. There was plenty of high top seating along the windows and bar area. We will definitely be back!

Came here after night shift one morning for breakfast, the food is great, though seating is limited (no tables, just countertops). Biscuits are fresh and delicious, tater tots loaded are fantastic. Overall great place for a quick and delicious bite to eat, if you're looking for a breakfast spot with room for a group just know it's limited space and you'll have to crane your neck down the counter to talk to each other if there's more than 3 people.

Got the biscuits and gravy with a side of eggs.

Fantastic biscuits and gravy. They're definitely elevated right. -1 star only because the ventilation was very off and in a closed space with an attached kitchen, it can get very stuffy/smoky.

The Biscuit Joint is such a nice, cozy spot! You definitely want to get there early if you plan to sit inside--there are only a few seats available. They also have some outdoor seating if you don't mind sitting outside. I had the Ribbon of Hope and my friend had the Catfish Plate--both were absolutely amazing! The flavor of everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

The food at the biscuit joint is out of this world. It is such a cute and quaint place to dine in for breakfast and the service is absolutely phenomenal!

To be a last minute find a place... that was close by, easy to get into and DELICIOUS! This place checked all the boxes. We went in around noon. We bought parking close to The Arch but it didn't start until 2 PM so we were trying to time it just right. We were here just over 1 hour. It allowed us plenty of time to eat and drive time to Arch parking. It wasn't on purpose but we both ended up with chorizo. I had a chorizo bowl with sunny eggs. Not only were we not granted an exception on the checks as consolation for not being able to order french fries, there was no indication that this had even occurred to our server. This is precisely the level of temerity we need to inculcate in young women in our society, and I'd encourage her to apply for a job at the women's-only sports bar a few doors down if and when it ever opens. It'd be tragic if she wasn't there if and when I return, but I'd appreciate the fact that she has a greater mission. Hopefully, the deep fryer is working. It being out of commission naturally limited the number of things on the menu we could order. We were only told that we couldn't order anything that required a deep fryer, not given a modified menu or anything. I started going through each item and imagining how it might be prepared, but I couldn't muster the psychological bandwidth to continue. Hit my Cash App if you appreciate the amount of unpaid emotional labor I was compelled to contribute. It occurred to me that I might just get a burger and a side salad, but then I saw that they carry a club sandwich. I love a good club sandwich, and I figured it might make for a light, refreshing alternative, given the weather. There's an option to get a cup of soup for $1.50 extra as a side with your sandwich (no, they didn't offer to eat the charge), and I figured that might go well with my sandwich. I was kicking myself when they brought out someone else's order with the side salad. It looked really good. The Frisco Burger, or whatever they're calling it, looked good too. Meanwhile, the BBQ Beef & Cheddar Soup--the soup du jour (that's French), according to Flo--looked gross, like something your dog might cough up. But damn it was good! It was more beef than anything else. A large bowl of it might actually be too much food. (I'd still eat it, natch.) The overall flavor profile was along the lines of a good french onion soup. It was a reminder that I need to be ordering soup in restaurants more often. I wish the club sandwich was cut into little triangles and fanned out on the plate in some elaborate configuration, like at a place where rich old ladies have lunch, but I guess that wouldn't have been in keeping with the theme. Instead, it was served on the world's thickest Texas toast, with the world's dullest steak knife protruding from its center. This sounds like hyperbole, but I may have honestly been served the equivalent of half a loaf of bread. It was much more bread than I required, but at least it was fresh and delicious, as were all the other ingredients. Turkey used for sandwiches is almost never remarkable, but this was surprisingly great, as good as anything you'd get served as an entree unto itself. Nothing about this place suggests that it would have such good food, but it just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover. The decor, the overall vibe and the lack of hospitality might not be for everyone, but don't let that deter you.

The quality has not wavered once. I ordered what I always order: The Combo (fried eggs, maplewood smoked bacon, cheese, brioche toast), extra egg, extra bacon. Most kitchens treat a fried egg as binary (runny or ruined). Songbird has mastered the middle register: lacy edges with a yolk that stays glossy and intact right up until the first bite. I ordered them over hard, and they came out a bit closer to over medium, but they were just as good as I wanted them to be. The bacon carries real smoke. This is a decadent sandwich, big enough that half of it would make a light breakfast; I wasn't remotely hungry after one, the second half was indulgent. The service made the move too. The hostess still recognizes returning customers, and the bigger room finally lets the dining experience breathe. The service at the table could have been a little warmer as we've had it the past, but it is still professional. I was there with two close college buddies, one of whom declared his latte excellent.
