I came for a quick breakfast before an appointment and saw there's a french toast special!! I LOVE french toast and most definitely anything blueberry-lemon flavor. The plate was presented beautifully! It consists of a lemon curd/sauce on the bottom, 2 crispy french toast sticks that are soo soft on the inside and topped with blueberry compote, thick whipped cream and fresh mint! I scraped the plate. Best french toast dish I've ever had in St. louis.

I found this gem of a spot walking around Washington ave On a chill Saturday the ambiance was a lil busy from takeout order and diners waiting to be seated I enjoyed my biscuit and even had some left to take home My server was the sweetest she gave me her top pics and I ended up with the biscuits and gravy ... it's so good came out pretty fast Hot and made from scratch.

We came here for a nice quick brunch/lunch option. Place is relatively small with limited seating options. Staff was friendly, ordering was easy, and food came out relatively fast (although we were the only ones there when we initially came in). We ordered the Goat biscuit, Carbonora Tots, and the OG biscuit. The goat biscuit is decent. Biscuit was moderately tender/flaky, but not as much as it could've been. The fried chicken patty is okay, not dry. The best part about it was the Calabrian chili aioli, although they didn't give enough of it. I think the OG biscuit was slightly better; I feel the flavors were more dynamic there and didn't fall as flat. The carbonara tots were good in concept, but the execution landed a little short; it tasted like carbonara, but carbonara is such a textural dish so the concepts maybe don't mesh as well. Perhaps, it needed a carbonara-inspired sauce rather than just bits of egg york? I think the common theme is that all of the dishes were very flat, the predominant flavor was salty, and the waves of flavors and textures and balance that I expected never came. Overall, okay place. Probably wouldn't come back. 3/5 stars.

The biscuits are big and fluffy. The Cinnamon Rolls are outta this world. So you cannot go wrong at TBJ. My recent visit was to kill time before picking a friend up who was his doctor a block away. The Biscuit Joint is primarily a grab-n-go type restaurant. There was seating at the high bar top and some counter sitting in the front window. Giving you the choice of watching the magic of making biscuits or watching the public walk by outside. I choose to watch people cruising by. I picked my stool and placed my table marker so it could be easily seen. I was #10. It didn't take long and my "Goat" with a side of Tots was presented to me. The young man (I assumed he was an owner) who brought me my order, informed me that he was holding my to-go Cinnamon Roll behind the counter and to pick it up after I finished my biscuit sandwich. The Goat is a a fried chicken biscuit, with bread and butter pickles and calabrian chili aioli. The chicken was crispy and the aioli gave just the right amount of flavor and heat. Pickle fans know, Bread & Butter on any sandwich makes it top notch. Typically, I am not a tots man. However, tots paired with a biscuit sammie is a perfect combination. My only complaint would be that for the price, I wish the tots were included instead of having to add them as a side. When finished dining, I retrieved my Cinnamon Roll from behind the counter. They had it all bagged up and ready to go. It was sitting on top of the ovens, so it was still nice and warm. I did not eat the roll until later in the day. Being avid recycler, I was pleated to see their to-go vessels are eco-friendly. I plated and microwaved my roll for just a few seconds and enjoyed while watching Jeopardy. OMG - it was so-so good. I can only imagine how delicious it would have been if I had eaten it fresh in the restaurant. I'm an old farm boy, so I have got to go back and try the Biscuits and Gravy.

The food was amazing! The owners were very nice ma sincere. When asked questions about items in the memo they had no problem explaining each item. You can tell they care about the foo they put out. The gravy was just the right consistency and the biscuits were soft and fit the dish perfect. The chicken and waffles were good. The slight kick on the breading of the chicken added just enough to the dish. The waffle was just the right amount of crispy and too soggy. The loaded tots were crisp and the sauce was epic! We even got try a new sauce they just made ! Will definitely be back.

Came on a semi-crowded afternoon. But was able to find good seating. I was greeted with a smile and kind service. I ordered biscuits with chicken sausage to eat there. Then a biscuit n chicken sandwich n cinnamon roll to go. The place was clean and lively. The biscuit on the chicken sausage gravy had a unique dense texture for a biscuit. Almost tasted like cornbread. Very good and hearty meal. The biscuit-chicken sandwich was disappointing; the chicken patty was thin n didn't have a great flavor. Cinnamon roll tasted great.

An incredible must try breakfast spot! My husband and I tried the Dally P (fried chicken, bacon, cheese, honey dijonaise) and an order of breakfast sausage biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were light and fluffy. The gravy was rich and savory and I loved the hint of sweetness from the maple syrup drizzled on top. The honey dijonaise on the Dally P was the perfect sauce to balance the saltiness from the bacon, cheese and chicken. Both of these are worthy of a reorder next visit, but I'd love to try more of their menu! The staff was friendly and helpful. Food was made to order but came out quickly. There was plenty of high top seating along the windows and bar area. We will definitely be back!

Came here after night shift one morning for breakfast, the food is great, though seating is limited (no tables, just countertops). Biscuits are fresh and delicious, tater tots loaded are fantastic. Overall great place for a quick and delicious bite to eat, if you're looking for a breakfast spot with room for a group just know it's limited space and you'll have to crane your neck down the counter to talk to each other if there's more than 3 people.

The food at the biscuit joint is out of this world. It is such a cute and quaint place to dine in for breakfast and the service is absolutely phenomenal!

The Biscuit Joint is such a nice, cozy spot! You definitely want to get there early if you plan to sit inside--there are only a few seats available. They also have some outdoor seating if you don't mind sitting outside. I had the Ribbon of Hope and my friend had the Catfish Plate--both were absolutely amazing! The flavor of everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

Wow! I came across the place when looking for a bite to eat after sunrise yoga and they did not disappoint. The atmosphere itself was super chill, small spot with great music. I will say I enjoyed my interaction with the cook more than what I got with the cashier, she just didn't seem to have an attitude the matched the environment and she was on her phone when I went to order so I just stood there awkwardly until she was ready to place my order... aside from that the food was phenomenal. Bacon well done just like I asked, eggs cooked perfectly and seasoned and THE BISCUIT?! Flaky, crunchy, moist and flavorful. I ate it with butter, dipped it in egg yolk and tried it with the sausage gravy and I genuinely couldn't get enough - it was so good!

This place is an amazing breakfast spot. We came on a Sunday; it was our first time here. It's all counter seating with maybe about 15 barstools. My husband stood next to me while I sat in one of the stools. He did not mind standing because the food was worth it. We shared all three dishes and it was more than enough for the both of us. Service was great! Staff was very friendly. This place will definitely be a spot to visit every time we're in town.

Great little breakfast spot Downtown. Came here for breakfast on Juneteenth. Limited seating but we got a spot in the window. The mushroom sage gravy was incredible. I love delicious vegetarian options. Biscuit was delicious! It was big and fluffy. We will definitely return!

To be a last minute find a place... that was close by, easy to get into and DELICIOUS! This place checked all the boxes. We went in around noon. We bought parking close to The Arch but it didn't start until 2 PM so we were trying to time it just right. We were here just over 1 hour. It allowed us plenty of time to eat and drive time to Arch parking. It wasn't on purpose but we both ended up with chorizo. I had a chorizo bowl with sunny eggs. I did want some fruit so I ended up with a side of fruit and 2 biscuits. The biscuits are droolworthy; Not enough places make biscuits like that. My wife ordered the chorizo omelet. She loved it but had plenty to take for leftovers. They have a small parking lot but we parked on the nearby side street and didn't have an issue. Not only were we not granted an exception on the checks as consolation for not being able to order french fries, there was no indication that this had even occurred to our server. This is precisely the level of temerity we need to inculcate in young women in our society, and I'd encourage her to apply for a job at the women's-only sports bar a few doors down if and when it ever opens. It'd be tragic if she wasn't there if and when I return, but I'd appreciate the fact that she has a greater mission. Hopefully, the deep fryer is working. It being out of commission naturally limited the number of things on the menu we could order. We were only told that we couldn't order anything that required a deep fryer, not given a modified menu or anything. I started going through each item and imagining how it might be prepared, but I couldn't muster the psychological bandwidth to continue. Hit my Cash App if you appreciate the amount of unpaid emotional labor I was compelled to contribute. It occurred to me that I might just get a burger and a side salad, but then I saw that they carry a club sandwich. I love a good club sandwich, and I figured it might make for a light, refreshing alternative, given the weather. There's an option to get a cup of soup for $1.50 extra as a side with your sandwich (no, they didn't offer to eat the charge), and I figured that might go well with my sandwich. I was kicking myself when they brought out someone else's order with the side salad. It looked really good. The Frisco Burger, or whatever they're calling it, looked good too. Meanwhile, the BBQ Beef & Cheddar Soup--the soup du jour (that's French), according to Flo--looked gross, like something your dog might cough up. But damn it was good! It was more beef than anything else. A large bowl of it might actually be too much food. (I'd still eat it, natch.) The overall flavor profile was along the lines of a good french onion soup. It was a reminder that I need to be ordering soup in restaurants more often. I wish the club sandwich was cut into little triangles and fanned out on the plate in some elaborate configuration, like at a place where rich old ladies have lunch, but I guess that wouldn't have been in keeping with the theme. Instead, it was served on the world's thickest Texas toast, with the world's dullest steak knife protruding from its center. This sounds like hyperbole, but I may have honestly been served the equivalent of half a loaf of bread. It was much more bread than I required, but at least it was fresh and delicious, as were all the other ingredients. Turkey used for sandwiches is almost never remarkable, but this was surprisingly great, as good as anything you'd get served as an entree unto itself. Nothing about this place suggests that it would have such good food, but it just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover. The decor, the overall vibe and the lack of hospitality might not be for everyone, but don't let that deter you.

Now, this was okay - I should have made a reservation, and it's not the staff's fault they were overwhelmed. However, the service once I sat down was patchy, delayed and distracted. I had to remind different servers of my presence, multiple times. I was willing to overlook this if the food had been fantastic, but unfortunately, their most popular item, the combo breakfast sandwich, was so incredibly heavy. The first bite was crispy, oily and fatty deliciousness, but by the third bite it was simply too rich. The sweet overtone of the honey was lovely but did not cut through the grease. By the time I finished half, I understood why several diners had left the other half uneaten. My personal preference is for a fresh, umami yet balanced sandwich that does not make me feel queasy after finishing it. This was not the sandwich for me. There was a long delay after I finished eating for them to bring me the check. My whole meal took around 2.5 hours. I had arrived starving and, I like to think, with an open mind. These are my honest, unfiltered observations. It is wonderful that so many people want to try their food and that their new space is bigger. Their decor, glassware and menu were cute and tasteful. I also love that they grew from a farmers market food stall and that they source their ingredients locally. With their level of popularity, I think they should focus on preserving the quality of their service and food.

My day drinking BFF and I needed to kill time before the restaurant we were set to have lunch opened. So we thought cocktails at Bowood would be nice. We got two stools at the bar and settled in. Once we glanced over the cocktail menu, we knew what we wanted. We're both Espresso Martini fans, we each got one. Seeing an espresso machine behind the bar, I glad to see they use "real" espresso in their martini. I got real excited when he grabbed my favorite vodka, Tito's as the base. Watching his masterful skills as he prepared our cocktails was pure entertainment. We were both impressed with the presentation of our martinis. They are served in vintage styled glasses. It was the best Espresso Martini I have had since, Harvey's in midtown closed. The martinis were so good, we thought we'd have a light nosh. We both like pistachios so we ordered a, Pistachio Brown Butter Tea Cake and shared it. The bartender also recommended it. His description was spot on. With an excellent martini and a pistachio tea cake, I may have told the bartender that I loved him. We finished our drinks and I settled up our tab in celebration of my BFF's B-Day. Walking out, both of us said, we're definitely coming back.
