This place was superb! Typically I do a little research before visiting a city but since I had already visited St Louis, I lacked this trip. To be a last minute find a place... that was close by, easy to get into and DELICIOUS! This place checked all the boxes. We went in around noon. We bought parking close to The Arch but it didn't start until 2 PM so we were trying to time it just right. We were here just over 1 hour. It allowed us plenty of time to eat and drive time to Arch parking. It wasn't on purpose but we both ended up with chorizo. I had a chorizo bowl with sunny eggs. I did want some fruit so I ended up with a side of fruit and 2 biscuits. The biscuits are droolworthy; Not enough places make biscuits like that. My wife ordered the chorizo omelet. She loved it but had plenty to take for leftovers. They have a small parking lot but we parked on the nearby side street and didn't have an issue. I thought we'd have to wait for a table but we didn't have any wait. Maybe this is a hidden gem of St Louis. It certainly is to us because it was so tasty. This is a spacious, modernized diner. There's a separate room in the back of the restaurant that can be used to host larger parties of about 20 which is a plus! Pros: Had a lovely waitress, food was delicious and the restaurant is clean (including bathrooms). Cons: It took 35 minutes for my food to come to the table! I was there at 12pm on a Friday afternoon. There were no more than 10 tables sat so that's concerning. The parking lot is TINY but street parking is scarce so prepare to scout for a spot. read more

I had the breakfast special and it was absolutely fantastic. Even the scrambled eggs were delicious! They were fluffy and moist and you could tell that it was real egg. She was so patient while we figured out what we wanted to order and was really helpful in helping us decide. The waffle was delicious soft and buttery, the bacon and potatoes were perfect. The potatoes were hot in season two perfection! However, my friend said her eggs were not good. For a breakfast spot this place did really well. As others stated the outside is a little deceiving as it's rather large inside. I got there about 10:15 on a Saturday and it was busy but my table was ready fairly quickly. Since they were busy the kitchen got backed up so it did take about 30 minutes to get my food which I don't believe is typical for them. The service was good and attentive, the space is open and bright and they have a good amount of seating. The food was great. I got the breakfast sandwhich which comes with a side, I got potatoes. They were cooked well, the potatoes had onions which i love. The sandwich had delicious buttery bread , egg cooked perfect and crunchy bacon, not fatty or limp! I was amazed how fantastic the food was at the Breakfast Corner in South City. It's definitely is now one of my new favorite go-to places for breakfast and brunch after this first visit. I ordered the three little piggies plate that came with a biscuit sliced in half underneath the layers of pulled pork, chorizo gravy, a couple slices of bacon, and two eggs your way that for me were scrambled and went on top. I got an extra side of potatoes and my brother and I split a granola & banana pancake that tasted killer. I came here early this morning to check this place out and it didn't disappoint I'm not sure what the place used to be before but it looks really nice inside and you can tell it's new. I sat at the bar (per usual) and was immediately given water. After a couple mins, I decided on the pesto chicken bowl and a piece of toast (surprise surprise). I get the bartender was making drinks but even when I tried to make eye contact to let her know I was ready to order, it took forever. Once she did put it in, the wait was minimal and they finally brought my food. The pesto and chicken combo were clutch. While the potatoes were good, the dish probably could have gone without it. While waiting to be seated during my most recent visit, I ordered coffee at the bar area, and it was great having something to sip on before getting sat at my table. We were really excited to check out this spot after hearing great things but was definitely a miss for us. We came in late morning on a Friday and if something could go wrong, it seems it did. No utensils until after food came despite a couple of earlier requests when coffee was brought. Someone in our party was served regular coffee after requesting decaf and in this case there was a caffeine allergy issue so it was kinda of a big deal for them. One beverage wasn't brought out until after we followed up on after food got dropped. And the food was underwhelming, omelette was overcooked and under-seasoned. Pancake was sight to see at 10 inches but not great flavor and seemed undercooked. Overall, breakfast took 2 hours which was unnecessarily long for the meal. Perhaps it was an off day for the restaurant and they did seem to be quite understaffed but in this case, we don't think there is anything that makes us want to give it another try. read more

My hubby and I tried this for our anniversary staycation weekend. It was so great. The wait wasn't as long as we were first told which I love! The space is cute like a diner vibe. The food and portions were soooo good. I got the Apple waffle, eggs, bacon, and potatoes. My husband got the same plus biscuits and gravy. The server was so nice and helpful and really prompt. On a weekend visit to St. Louis, my family and I tried The Breakfast Corner because of the hype around their pancakes and french toast. It did live up to the hype! The food was delicious but the service was not so appetizing. Our waiter did not seem like she was having a good day and you could tell by her service. My cappuccino tasted watery and bland so I requested a different beverage but instead of asking for what could possibly be fixed I was met with "You still will be charged for it". The corner specials, give you your choice of egg, meat, and whether you want pancake, French toast or waffle. The avocado omelette comes with toast and potatoes, which you can substitute for fruit. I ordered the fruit. The bowl was huge! Very clean organized restaurant. Great staff every time we come here. Two could be even better things; the silverware packs on the table could use spoons if you're ordering coffee. We always use our straw for our water, but it would be nice if the coffee cups came with a spoon. I'm not sure what they can do about this but parking is getting very challenging. This was my first visit to The Breakfast Corner. It is in the neighborhood so my wife and I decided on brunch this morning. And we like to support local businesses. This location was an old vacant Dr's office for many years at the corner of Walsh and Hampton Ave. The owners also own the mexican restaurant LA Catrina accross the street. If you like this family vibe they also own LA Catrin, the old Hilltop Bar on Morganford and Loughbourgh Street. Our brunch was awesome!. We were greeted with a smile and when seated our Server , Kim was a delight. She was courteous and professional. She brought our drinks quickly. I had coffee and juice. The carafe of coffee is left at the table for you. Nice touch. Kim was helpful choosing a few items. I decided on the Chorizo 3 egg omelet and my spouse had the avocado omelet. Both were scrumptious. My omelet with onions,red peppers, avocado s and Colby jack cheese was a perfect blend of flavors. The lime crema drizzled over the omelet just completes this dish. My wife's avocado omelet was refreshing and flavorful too. I looked around the room and I like the open waiting area very airy and open. The Hampton side of the building is well thought out. I like the plexiglass partition that seperate the bigger groups between the main dining room and that it has a ceiling sprayed with a sound deadening surface foam. I love eating out for breakfast. Maybe it's because I like all of the breakfast things, or maybe it's because I'm a strict oatmeal with blueberries eater at home. Either way, I was excited about trying the breakfast corner. Walking in the front door, the relaxed, neat and tidy but very cute vibe is unmistakable. The restaurant was packed, but we were greeted quickly and in a very welcoming way. Luckily, there was a table for two available, and we were seated promptly. The service was just as attentive, and within a minute, coffee and water were on our table, and we were given time to check out the menu. We ordered and sat back to relax in our comfy booth. Considering the number of people in the restaurant, it was impressive that we got our food as quickly as we did, especially when you consider how much food we got. I ordered the three little piggies, and my husband ordered the southwest benny. Plus of course we had to try the candied bacon. You can see for my picture that we ordered way too much food for the two of us, and I wish I had taken a picture of our take-home boxes; they were stuffed. Everything was really delicious. First time experience for me at the breakfast corner and it was awesome. The menu everything looks delicious looking at the neighbors table around me. All the food comes out in picture perfect display. The service is attentive and right on spot never ran out of anything and if we needed anything, someone was right there to make sure we had it real quick the ambience is just adorable. The chairs are super comfortable. You forget that you need to leave so that they can flip that table to the next customer. I believe his name is Steve. He went around to table after table talking to the customers if they were all his best friend, he made everyone that I witnessed very comfortable and they had open conversation. Someone else had a chicken Caesar salad wrap, and another person tried for the first time which he had been there several times the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. The food was just falling off the plate as the portions are great. You leave well fed well satisfied all the way around I am very particular and picky with the places that I go and have high expectations. I work hard for my money and I want to spend it where I I'm getting the best thing for my book and there I certainly did not too many places.
