I stopped in for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. There was no wait and I was able to get a table without a wait. The space gives mid-century modern vibes. Reminiscent of the original Parkmoor. With browns, greens, and burnt orange thrown in for fun. Cozy booths, tables, and a counter if you prefer. Dorie was my server, and she did an exceptional job taking care of me. I always have questions about a menu, and she was able to answer every one. My meal included: a biscuit and gravy. I prefer sausage gravy over bacon gravy. The Breakfast Corner uses bacon gravy. But, I was able to get their chorizo gravy for my biscuit. I'm not a big chorizo fan, but this was amazing! Rich and creamy and full of flavor. The biscuit is huge and toasted on the flat top. I ordered the avocado toast with a side of bacon. The toast comes on sourdough bread and a healthy serving of well seasoned avocado spread. You can get your eggs any style. A small sprinkle of feta made for a delicious meal. The bacon was also really good. Mostly that they were thick cut slices and perfectly crisp. I and a group of my fellow high school alums (from the former Southwest High School) had a very late breakfast or a timely lunch as you prefer. The restaurant closes around 2 or so and we hit it about noon. I had previously eaten here a few times either on my own or with one of my kids, this was the first time with a large group (14 total). The server was amazing tolerating all mumbo jumbo flying at her from a table of old guys plus still getting the orders and keeping drinks filled... I didn't hear one complaint about the food in taste, temp, or quantity and there were orders from all over the menu, some going with breakfast some going with lunch. My meal was the "Corner Simple" and was 2 eggs (scrambled), 3 thick slices of bacon (crisp but not quite as crisp as I like due to the thickness), and sourdough toast dry. I really have only one criteria with breakfast, it better be served to me hot. Mine was hot and very good. To those that may say how can anyone get breakfast wrong, you may be surprised at orders taken or written down wrong...wrong drink... I don't think the young lady had anything wrong as I didn't hear any complaints and most of us were impressed at how she was able to banter back and forth with us. It made for a lively fun meal. I recommend it based upon this visit and as I live within walking distance, like the terminator I'll be back. Note: it's my understanding that the ownership of this restaurant may be the same as, or has some of the owners of, the La Catrina Mexican restaurant across the street. Went in their second weekend after opening and they're definitely still figuring it out. The service was great. Our server was so sweet. We were told 20 min but ended being about 40, which on a Sunday at 1015 that's understandable. My burger was delicious as was my nitro! The ambiance was spacious but got a little loud. The only thing that was a little off putting was the family allowing their children to sit and play on their phones at the cafe bar while waiting for a table instead of in the waiting area. I felt bad for the bartenders/barista because that is 6/8 chairs they could have had customers at multiple times but instead had children and their inconsiderate parents standing in the way of the waiting room instead staff for 42 minutes. For the last few months, I've been eyeing the construction on Hampton wondering who was going to take a building over. When I saw the sign pop up for @breakfast.corner.stl I was thrilled! As a big brunch guy, I've been wanting a place I could walk to. As per tradition, I tried the avocado toast which had a wonderful piece of sourdough under a well seasoned avocado spread. I asked what they recommended, and they told me to get the biscuits and gravy with chorizo gravy, and that was what I was hoping they'd say. I decided to get breakfast on my birthday . The Breakfast Corner parking lot was full. I had to park down the street. There was about a 30 minutes wait. Walking in there was a white wall. First timer here, parking lot was small so you may struggle to find some parking and park on the street especially on the weekends during breakfast. It was extremely busy and upon arrival got on a waitlist for about 30 minutes, lobby seating wasn't the best for the amount of people - there were people sitting on the floor. Once sat, we were shortly greeted after and drink order was taken - I ordered the Iced Shaken Espresso, which honestly seemed like some basic coffee mixed with milk and wasn't the best. Took a bit for the server to come back to take order, after that we waited like 25 minutes for food, server did apologize for the long wait though which is always appreciated. I had The Corner Special, which was pretty basic but wasn't bad. My lady had The Harvest French toast, which she loved. I decided to have the biscuits and gravy with fried potatoes this morning. Not really my cup of tea. The biscuits are completely flavorless. The gravy was just sort of there. I wouldn't say it was terrible, but it didn't have a lot of flavor either. The potatoes are nicely seasoned, but I did run into a couple that were undercooked. Our server was attentive. It's actually a fairly large place once you get onto the inside. The main entrance sort of reminds me of walking into a bakery or something along those lines. Lots of white tile and light colored countertops. I'm glad to see a new business in the area and I wish it well, but things didn't really stand out for me. I will try something else next time. My mom had the avocado toast. She was given a selection of different toast to have it served with. She opted for whole grain, but they ended up giving her white sourdough, of what she tries not to eat white bread. The prices are pretty good though. Parking is going to be an issue for them as they have a very small parking lot. My stepdad wanted to have a waffle but they don't have the option of real maple syrup, which may not matter to some. It would be nice to have that as an option, even if it meant paying a bit more for real maple syrup. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it out! My parents are visiting and love a hearty meal that's not too eclectic and they left raving reviews. Atmosphere in and of itself is spacious, clean and inviting. Staff were efficient and very pleasant as well. Most importantly the food... wow! Picture doesn't do justice the flavor and quality. I'm gluten free (not celiac) so I was excited they had so many options. I tried their gluten free pancake and it was probably the best pancake I've ever had - gluten containing or gluten free. There were other couples waiting for food as well. I understand that this is their only second week open, but get better kitchen help, or more cooks. Food was good but not over the top, portions are fine, cost is about normal for what you get. I only gave one star due to the waiting for the food, 55 minutes. We normal are gone for 1 hour for breakfast for two, but 90 minutes is too long. We will wait about 6 months before we come back for a second run at breakfast.
