My partner and I went because we saw a Google review that mentioned the bread pudding being so delicious that it "altered his brain chemistry." Honestly that's what sold us! Arrived and promptly ordered that dessert and the carrot cake. Then the server told us of their "to die for" tiramisu and my partner immediately said yes. WOW let me tell you from a first hand experience two people do NOT need three desserts. Cyrano's gives you AMAZING portions. Just one would have been enough lol. Anyways, the carrot cake was my favorite. It was so big I had enough to take home! The tiramisu was good but it was being overpowered by the carrot cake that evening. Met a friend to catch up. Great lively environment that really covers most bases. I would recommend this place for breakfast/brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert, or drinks. My friend loved their raspberry mocha. We both had the lemon rosemary chicken (mine with pasta, hers with mashed potato) and loved it. I always love coming here. I brought two of my friends and they had a pleasant experience. My food was a 10/10 and the service is always really great. I got the four cheese grilled cheese with tomato soup and French fries. I also tried the latte which was amazing! The bourbon crème brûlée was a bit strong, but it was still good. The establishment is also always clean and so beautiful, especially in the evening when the sun goes down and it's dim inside. Went to Cyrano's for dessert after seeing a play at the Rep. We arrived around 8:30pm and were seated in the main dining area. There weren't a lot of folks there which was surprising given how delicious the desserts are, but it was a Wednesday evening in the winter, so there's that. I had the Bread Pudding and it was the most delicious version of the dish I've ever had. The greeting was awkward and unwelcoming. The man at the host stand -- who I assume was the manager -- seemed flustered and honestly made us feel like we weren't wanted there. When we asked for a table for two, he told us there would be a 30-minute wait. We said we'd wait and I requested a table outside. His response was a hesitant "ummm ok," and he jotted our name down without much warmth or hospitality. Since we were hungry, we decided to grab seats at the bar and dine there instead of waiting. We started with a Negroni and a tequila añejo old fashioned -- both were mediocre. For our appetizer, we had the BBQ shrimp, which was flavorful and delicious. For entrees, my boyfriend ordered the meatloaf and I had the lemon rosemary chicken with linguine. The food was fantastic -- the sauce on my chicken was layered with flavor. We also added a small order of fries we didn't need, but definitely didn't regret. To end the night, I ordered an espresso martini that struck a great balance between sweet and bitter -- you could still taste the coffee, which I loved. My boyfriend, a big coffee lover, first tried the espresso macchiato but found it overly bitter. He swapped it for the crème brûlée latte and enjoyed that much more. Now, for the service -- this is where things fell flat. The bartender barely acknowledged us. No greeting, no check-ins, no small talk -- nothing. The only words exchanged were: "What are you drinking?" "Are you ready to order?" and "Do you want dessert?" That was it. Very surface-level service, and frankly, it felt cold. As someone who works in the service industry, I know how much hospitality matters -- and unfortunately, it was severely lacking here. With foods ranging from appetizers and shareable, full meals, and desserts. It's been open a long time as I grew up down the street the menu hasn't changed much. Disappointing experience at Cyrano's Cafe to say the least. We hadn't been to this place in like, 10 years minimum. So when we stepped in for lunch, we were hoping for the same stellar service and food from back in the day. Boy oh boy has this place changed. No longer is the charming ambiance, attentive staff and delicious offerings. Cyrano's is now a place where you wait 30 minutes to get a refill for your drink, while you wait for your $20 burnt sandwich. We arrived at 3:00 and the hostess said, "Oh, our kitchen is behind. You should be able to order at 3:15 at the latest. Our server came, got us drinks, then disappeared into thin air. It took us asking multiple people where she was for her to reappear. We were finally able to order at 3:41. We should have just left. We ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders for an appetizer. Those, I must admit, were seasoned pretty darn good. I was in your restaurant for lunch today. NOT a good experience. We had a reservation for 6 at 1pm . When we arrived at 12:50 we were told our table wasn't ready yet and it would be a "few" minutes. 25 minutes later we were seated. We received our menus and water pretty quickly, then sat for about 15 minutes until Annie arrived and took our drink order. After ordering, we waited more than a half hour for our entrees. And there were not many people there! At 2:30 we hadn't seen much of Annie, but ordered dessert from the hostess. Agsin, after waiting for yet another 20 minutes for a piece of key lime pie, while we watched Annie sitting at the bar rolling silverware, we decided we had enough and I went up to her at the bar and cancelled the dessert and asked for our check! NOT ONCE did she apologize for the poor service and then had the audacity to add a 20% gratuity to our check. Our server was attentive and pleasant, and had our drinks to us pretty promptly considering how many of us were present. I love their lattes so that's what I ended up ordering. Lots of people ended up getting Bellinis and mimosas and had great things to say about them, especially the Bellinis. I ended up getting a lunch choice, the veggie sandwich. It sounded delicious and I added turkey for protein. Their meat is by Sugarfire which is a plus in my book! I attended a retirement celebration for a friend of mine (Kevin) at this facility. There is a small parking lot out front on the building that was full so I found myself finding parking a few streets away and walked. There was both a ramp access and stair access into the building. I went to the cafe and spoke to the hostess to find out if I was in the correct location. She was kind enough to show me the event room which is just to the right when I walked in that I had overlooked. The room was very well decorated and decent in size. Facility was bright and serving staff was fast and friendly. There was a very nice food spread of sandwiches, pasta, salads, and a dessert table. Everything needed for a wonderful celebration for retirement. I will definitely be back to explore and enjoy the cafe portion. I would highly recommend having an event here. I had the Neptune Benedict which is a crab cake Benedict and it was delicious. 2 others had the classic EBs which are always good. We were in St Louis for a graduation over Mother Day weekend, so someone in the family picked Cyrano's Cafe. It's a cute little place in a nice area. We had a rather large group of about 10. The menu is smaller, focusing mainly on sandwiches, salads and soup. They have a few larger entrees as well. They also have a large cocktail/bar menu. I got a Paloma which was fine, not great, not bad. I wasn't super hungry and nothing really hit me so I got some very good and very hot French Onion Soup and a Baby Iceberg Wedge Salad. Visited Cyrano's for a baby shower today. I had the bbq pulled pork sandwich with french fries. The bbq pulled pork was delicious and tender. I don't typically like bbq sauce, but the bbq sauce was sweet, yet savoury. The French fries were nice and crispy. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. There was plenty of seating and a separate event space area. The decor in the event space area is very artsy and eclectic. The parking lot is fairly small but there is street parking. Conversations were happening left & right, but never got too loud. Altogether a very warm & enjoyable restaurant to visit. This time I visited with family--we all enjoyed our cocktails & dinner. We tried a few different drinks--I think the Paloma came out on top as favorite. Very refreshing flavor! For dinner, I enjoyed the strawberry and spinach salad but my sister claims the beet salad was the overall winner (I'm claiming a tie). Regardless of your meal--always make sure to grab dessert.
