Pros: Ambiance was very casual upscale. Mood lighting, huge windows, intimate seating. Very date night feeling. Service was very good, too. Very nice server, very good wait times for the food, and the server gave us a little bonus bread to include in our doggy bags when we left. Loved her. The food was insane. Very simple, but very unique dishes, very smart flavor combinations, very good execution. Cons: Not a single con. Lovely night. Tips: Go outside of your comfort zone, if you're seeing something you haven't had before. The okonomiyaki was great, and the rabbit dish was great. Everything they do is great.

    Tequila and vanilla...great!

10 out of 10 again. I'm sometimes on the fence when ordering Lamb, but this was perfect. Tenderism and seasoned to perfection! The Gouda Mac that accompanied it had the right amount of cream sharp goodness. Service was attentive and warm, the Lamb took a little longer than usual but it was well worth it! The vibe was vibing as always..

Dined for dinner while in St. Louis for a work trip. This place is very aesthetically beautiful with very chic/ hip decor. We got a collection of content meals-- the hamburger, meatballs, fish & steak-- as well as dessert. Everything was fantastic-- the ambiance, kind service and fresh food. Highly recommend!

In town from Houston to met my family - Olive + Oak was able to accommodate- even when we increased from 6 to 7. We appreciated their flexibility and ability to accommodate under short notice. Really enjoyed the dinner & food. Bread was slow coming to the table on this busy night but, nothing unusual during the busy holiday season. The ambiance overall was beautiful. I selected the gaucho steak & my fiancé ordered the goat ragu. The rest of the family was each able to find something to meet their palette including my sister who's vegetarian & gluten intolerant. The steak was cooked perfectly. It did not come with any veggies which felt a little odd. A couple asparagus to the side would have rounded out the meal but, the flavor was there for the steak. The goat ragu stole the show that night. The flavor was absolutely amazing!

This place has been on my list forever and WOW!! For my birthday this year, I wanted to try a "progressive dinner," and do three stops (apps, entree, dessert at separate locations)--Olive + Oak was our first stop last night. We ordered from their current house cocktails (unfortunately I missed which numbers, and can't seem to get the menu to pull up on their website at the moment)--and loved both. The one pictured in the pineapple had a nice spice and the other was sweet and delicious! We tried the Blue Crab Gratin which was well worth the price. Very crab-forward and decadent--the pretzel crisps that came with it were perfection. We followed that with some raw oysters (mix of east and west) which had every accompaniment you could ever want. They were fresh and high quality. I missed taking a photo, unfortunately. Our server (unfortunately missed her name) was a dream. She checked in with us appropriately and was very professional and kind. The ambiance was perfect--airy and comfortable, but not overly bright. The high ceilings and enormous windows were lovely and made the space feel super special. There were families but it was still a comfortable volume, definitely still amazing for a quiet date night. I can't wait to return to sample more of their menu! Thank you for getting my birthday off to the most amazing start!!

From the moment you walk in the doors you are greeted with an earthy green space. We made reservations, which I highly recommend, so we were seated immediately. Our server was extremely attentive and ensured that we had everything we could possibly need. The food was superb. Highly recommend the cheese curds!! I put them up there with Wisconsin Cheese Days quality... and that's saying something!! Now the burger.... Perfection. One of the best burgers I have ever had in STL hands down. Now, room for improvement... table service. Almost every 10 minutes someone stopped by our table to ask if they could take away a plate that still had food on it. No! We are talking and eating. It got annoying after a while and I felt like I had to fight to keep my food. I'm there to enjoy my meal not be rushed through it. Other than that one area of attention... it was perfect. Sorry for the limited photos... the gram did not eat first! Hahah Parking: Tricky as it's street parking. Spots are limited so plan ahead or plan to walk.

The staff was wonderful and the drinks were delicious. I also loved the atmosphere. Some of their entree's were a little too adventurous for me to want to try for the price. I got the southwest salad and it was alright, but i'm sure they're more well known for their entrees. The cheese curds were delicious!

At the bar. Small house salad, icebox martini, cheese sandwich.

Came for the happy hour, which i was quite pleased with. The space, with the bug windows, white tiles, mirrors, and greenery, is beautiful. Good hh prices (small selection of cocktails at 2/3 price, 8 dollar house wines, several snack/food options). Not as many vegetarian options on the hh menu, but I think otherwise a fine selection. I'd love to come back for dinner, if im feeling extravagant one day.

This restaurant is a 10 out of 10. My boyfriend and I came here for a date night and it definitely was a good vibe. It's a very cute restaurant with low lighting and it's an intimate setting. We ordered some of the oysters and they were so good. We got the roasted and the fire roasted ones. They were so good and I will definitely be back for those. We both ended up ordering the steak, which was also very good and flavorful. We ended our meal with chocolate cake and a root beer float. The food came out very fast and all of the weight staff was very kind.

The story is on the walls, love it.

Celebrated a friend's birthday here last night and the entire experience was spectacular!! For starters, I ordered a trio of oysters - the west coast (my fav), roasted, and fire roasted oysters - definitely can't go wrong here.. yum! I also split a Caesar salad and the crumble with the dressing paired so well. The beef tartare was also ordered and they enjoyed it! For entrees, I had the waitress surprise me. She brought the buttonwood farms chicken! It was different and something I've never tried before. Good and unique! Other entrees that were ordered: the beef tenderloin, prime cowboy ribeye, the burger, and the halibut. Every dish got a glowing review! I snagged a bite of the steak and it was so so delicious! Also, don't skip the fries with the house sauce.. a very important tip. While everyone else ordered dessert to go, I decided to end with the coconut kiss martini. It was the perfect final touch to my night! Side note, this is a gorgeous restaurant, rich and intentional, it shows there is a story to tell. A big thank you to Kenzie for taking such great care of us! Can't wait to come back!

I had no idea this spot existed. What a beautiful event space. I recently went to an event there for Grassroots Redeeming Love and the set up was so awesome. The bar is in the back and they have a very good stage for presenting. O+O is just so top notch in our community. Their food and drinks are amazing and the vibe is incredible. O+O does a ton of charity work and gives so much back to the community. They are always hosting charity events and non-for-profit organizations. Mad respect. True hometown heroes. A bunch of angels if you ask me.

Top notch quality all around experience. Beef tenderloin 10/10. From the food to the service to the vibe, can't recommend this place enough. Servers are extremely knowledgeable of menu and can help guide you through preferred choices or piecing together a multi-course meal experience if interested. Drinks are amazing too--we especially enjoyed the espresso martini. Great for a dinner, date night, or pop in at the bar.

Parking was relatively convenient--street parking is available, and there's a nearby lot about a block away if needed. Upon arrival, the restaurant immediately gives off a refined, upscale atmosphere that feels well-suited for business dining or a special night out. Service was a standout. The dining room manager handled our group and was engaging, attentive, and polished throughout the evening. Service overall was excellent and well-paced. One logistical quirk worth noting: there is only one restroom on the dining room floor, with additional facilities located downstairs, which felt like a slightly odd setup for an otherwise thoughtfully designed space. As for the food, expectations were set extremely high by the enthusiastic and somewhat over-the-top menu descriptions--phrases along the lines of "the most amazing thing you'll ever taste." Unfortunately, while the food was good, it didn't quite live up to that level of hype. The calamari appetizer and Mayfair salad were both solid and enjoyable. The whole branzino was visually impressive, with the head and tail removed tableside, making for a nice presentation. I did encounter a bone, however, and the accompanying white bean side fell short of expectations--the beans weren't as creamy or flavorful as anticipated. Overall, Madrina delivers a very good dining experience, particularly in terms of service and atmosphere. While the food was good to okay rather than exceptional, it was still enjoyable. With a more measured approach to describing the menu, the experience might feel better aligned with what ultimately arrives at the table.

There was a 20-30 minute wait so we found seats at the bar and ordered cocktails. Very good. Very strong. The Block is a great space. Tall ceilings, warm & inviting, perhaps a little low lighting for us challenged folks, but nice, easy to read menus made up for it. A busser brought us water and shortly behind him was Laura-Beth, (our server) with a big smile and menus. After explaining the menu, specials, and taking our drink orders she left us to think about our choices. The menu is a little limited but includes sandwiches as well as entrees including fish option.. Being a "butcher" restaurant we both opted for the ribeye, medium rare. The steak comes only with fries which I ordered while my date went for whipped potatoes. I also went for a side of spinach. We also split a Block Salad as a starter. Choosing to split the Block Salad was a good idea. It was more than enough for two. It was great version of a chopped salad with fresh greens, bacon, smoked ham, egg, house-smoked cheddar, tomatoes, red onion, dressed with just enough buttermilk dressing. Really enjoyed it and just the right amount of salad. Only criticism is not salt and pepper on the table. Probably by design but disappointing. Next came our steaks and sides. We both ordered medium-rare. Her steak was a little under but close enough. My steak was raw in the center. I should have said something but there wasn't so much it was inedible for me. Better under than over! The seasoned fries were good and the whipped potatoes very good were delicious. The fresh spinach was cooked perfect, but under seasoned. All in all, good sides. We finished with Irish Coffee and vanilla ice cream. Kudos to the staff A special thank you to our server Laura-Beth. You were spot on friendly, courteous, attentive, and made our evening great and not just good. Overall, a good place, A bit expensive but where isn't these days. Well worth a try if you haven't.

Versatile, knows…read morehow to treat yo' self, equally at home in yoga pants, ready for a backwoods adventure or dressed to the nines, and doesn't blink at any version of you that walks through the door. That's the vibe. We started on the front patio on a Friday night and quickly realized we'd made a mistake. The doors to the interior were open and the music -- a rock-forward playlist that night -- was loud enough that we considered bailing. Our server, was unbothered when we asked to move up to the rooftop. Where we met with a new bartender and server, London, who rolled with it, got us resettled, and from that point on the night was great. London was clearly handling the bar and most of the rooftop tables, but she was attentive throughout, and made eye contact, which seems a near miracle from many 20-something these days. Bumping the score up just for the flexibility on the table move alone. The food: crab cakes were genuinely good, not life-changing, but well above the weak-crab-cake bar that exists in most of the world, served simply with capers and a small salad. I went off-script and ordered the wagyu burger medium rare with fontina (London mentioned cheddar is the more common pick, but the Fontina offerd a great alternative). The burger was deeply flavorful and cooked exactly right, but here's my one real note for the kitchen: toast the brioche bun. Wagyu medium-rare puts out a lot of juice, and an untoasted bun loses its structural integrity about three bites in. A quick toast would let the bun keep some additional integrate and keep up with the perfectly cooked beef. The pom buff were great, the best elevated patato tots you may come by. Beyond what we ordered, the Greek salad is a longtime go-to -- chopped, with grape leaves and pita, available in a small or large, and easily dressed up into a light meal with or without adding some protein or can be share as a self-dress bruschetta appetizer for the group if you ask for extra bread. The cheese boards are also a reliable pick. The wine list is extensive (it's a wine bar, after all), but they don't sniff at cocktails -- I had a solid fine old fashioned, and my wife shared had a Malbec that paired well with everything. Lots of gluten-free options across the menu, too. What Sasha's gets right is that it has refused to become precious. "Wine bar" reads as pretentious to some people, but this place runs as a neighborhood spot. You'll see college kids dressed way down, couples on dates dressed way up, Hawaiian shirts, oversized sweaters, the full range. It's the kind of place where you can split a bottle with your girlfriends, meet a date for drinks and a quick bite without committing to a full dinner, or roll in for brunch on the weekend. Different times of day, different vibes -- always approachable. 4.7 stars. Loses a few tenths for the front-patio music situation and the weak burger bun, but more than makes up for it on flexibility, food, and overall hang factor.

Used to love this place, but today really changed my impression…read more We stopped in for a quick drink on a beautiful Saturday. There were a few open tables, but we were asked to wait by the door while they "got situated." Meanwhile, a walk-in who arrived after us was seated at a table we had been waiting for. When we were finally seated, we were placed in direct sun. I asked if we could move to a shaded table in the corner and was told it was only for parties of three. After explaining we'd just be there briefly for a drink, we were allowed to sit there, but the interaction felt dismissive. From that point on, the experience felt rushed. We were pushed to order quickly, our menus were taken right away, and the check came almost immediately. It made what should have been a relaxed stop feel uncomfortable and transactional. I understand how busy restaurants can get, especially on nice days, but a little more consideration and courtesy would have gone a long way.

God, I absolutely love this place…read more I first started loving STL Barkeep cocktails back in 2020 when they were offering the pre-mix, batched, cocktails delivered to your door. I was sold. They exceed my expectations every time. We live in the neighborhood and after years of having STL Barkeep cocktails from various pop-ups it was AMAZING when they moved to Webster. We have been a few times since they opened and I get the Old Fashioned, with a Rye blend, every time and hands down it is the VERY best and I have probably tried---- 40-50 place's Old Fashioneds across the US with the majority of those being in St. Louis and the only one that even comes close is the Planter House Old Fashioned or their Black Manhattan. Its cozy and intimate in there but it is indeed loud when its very busy. Emily is a lovely bartender who chatted with us and talked cocktails and such while we were being served. We have not eaten there only ordered cocktails and we will go back many times over!

Off Elm? Yep, it's just two doors down on Big Bend and they're laughing and having a party…read more The staff of bartenders are from STL Barkeep, so you instantly know the cocktails are masterfully made. I came for a HH and enjoyed three different cocktails. My first was a Gold Rush. It's basically a Bees Knees with Vodka instead of Gin. It was light and refreshing, making it a great start. The second cocktail was one of my all-time favorites, a Old Fashioned. I can honestly say, it was one of the best, if not the absolute best one I have ever had. I finished the HH with a Espresso Martini. It was a good ending to my HH. They use a Cold Brew instead of true espresso, so it had a milder coffee taste. My nosh while drinking was a, Jalapeño Popper Dip. It was okay, in my opinion, it did not fit the description on the menu. Especially, the type of chips described. My friend ordered, The Small Board and it was fantastic and a good value. Our bartenders were friendly and as I stated earlier, they are masters of their skill. What stopped them from getting a 5 Star review, is simple. They do not offer a Martini on their Happy Hour Menu. I'm a Martini Man and that disappointed me, but it wont keep me away, it just keeps them short of 5 Stars.
