Came here for a work event and was blown away by the space: very modern American, spacious, tons of natural light, and beautiful big indoor plants. The bartenders were super friendly, and they gave great recommendations. I tried several sweet cocktails and mocktails, all delicious. Staff kept the tables clean all night, took away plates and glasses quickly. Food wise, the falafel was excellent and tasty and crispy, the tartare dishes were really good, and the charcuterie board was stunning! One of the prettiest grazing boards I've seen. Highly recommend, and I'd absolutely go back. Also their dessert/pastry selection is divine!

I have to be honest with you. I didn't know anything about St. Louis before I visited here for a few days. I certainly wasn't expecting the food scene to be so excellent. I had my first dinner of my stay at Olive + Oak, and it blew me away from the moment I laid my eyes on it. From the unsuspecting street outside, the giant windows glow with the warm, sparkling light from within. An elegant dining room with a beautiful bar and a good amount of hustle and bustle. I felt like I was at an upscale New Orleans joint. Very cozy. Service was just as beautiful. Our server was extremely nice, new the menu backwards and forwards, and rattled off the nightly specials without hesitation. And on top of all of that, when we were getting some stuff to-go, she threw in more bread for us! You can't train that level of service. That's just a good person. Onto the food. We started off with the Blue Crab Gratin (calabrian chili, celery + pretzel bread). This was ooey, gooey, cheesy, delicious, had a fair amount of crab in it, had a nice little kick, and the sliced, crunchy pretzel bread dippers were exquisite. Something seasonal that isn't on their menu anymore, we ordered an Okonomiyaki, which is a savory Japanese pancake, basically, covered in sauce. Wow, this thing was done well. Very reminiscent of the authentic thing I've had in Japan. Very nice. Another dish that isn't on the menu anymore, the Catfish dish. It was slightly Asian and on top of some sort of risotto rice. I can't remember exactly, but I do remember that it was very well cooked, had a nice char. An eclectic dish that came together very nicely. I also got to try some of the Rabbit Crepe (port wine braised rabbit, blueberry, fennel, arugula + kenny's bleu gouda crepe). Some people might shudder at the idea of eating rabbit. Those people need to grow up. Rabbit is one of the most succulent, delicious meats out there, and in this wonderful flavor combination, in a crepe. This chef is genius. I could have downed two of these things. We finished off the night with the recommended Cloud Cake (vanilla chiffon cake, coconut pastry cream, coconut + whipped cream icing). This thing was de-ca-dent. A nice, thicc sponge, a very coconuty cream, and a whipped icing with lots of coconut pulp in it. So heavenly. Overall, my socks were blown off. Not only does St. Louis have good food, this was a better meal than I had in Nashville and Kansas City. Who would have guessed. I would love to come back.

Pros: Ambiance was very casual upscale. Mood lighting, huge windows, intimate seating. Very date night feeling. Service was very good, too. Very nice server, very good wait times for the food, and the server gave us a little bonus bread to include in our doggy bags when we left. Loved her. The food was insane. Very simple, but very unique dishes, very smart flavor combinations, very good execution. Cons: Not a single con. Lovely night. Tips: Go outside of your comfort zone, if you're seeing something you haven't had before. The okonomiyaki was great, and the rabbit dish was great. Everything they do is great.

It has been 5 years since my last review/last visit here. Forgettable/mediocre food, extremely slow service, took over 45 minutes between appetizer and entree. Had to ask to bring my child's dessert. I couldn't wait to get out of there and be done with it all. Overall, my recent dining experience here felt like it was a chore just so I could use up my chase sapphire reserve credit. I do not have plans to visit again. O+O feels like a shell of its original self. No identity, no hospitality, no taste. Am I being harsh? Maybe, but at $40-50 entrees, you bet I'm going to be harsh.

Really great place to come for an upscale experience. They have a big menu with lots of fun and unique options. Everything we got tasted amazing. I came with a friend and we split some apps, the beef tartare and the mushroom steak. Their drinks were also really good. The standout was the staff helping us. They answered all our questions and were very personable. I would love to come again because of this. They have a nice bathroom and street parking.

    Tequila and vanilla...great!

10 out of 10 again. I'm sometimes on the fence when ordering Lamb, but this was perfect. Tenderism and seasoned to perfection! The Gouda Mac that accompanied it had the right amount of cream sharp goodness. Service was attentive and warm, the Lamb took a little longer than usual but it was well worth it! The vibe was vibing as always..

Dined for dinner while in St. Louis for a work trip. This place is very aesthetically beautiful with very chic/ hip decor. We got a collection of content meals-- the hamburger, meatballs, fish & steak-- as well as dessert. Everything was fantastic-- the ambiance, kind service and fresh food. Highly recommend!

In town from Houston to met my family - Olive + Oak was able to accommodate- even when we increased from 6 to 7. We appreciated their flexibility and ability to accommodate under short notice. Really enjoyed the dinner & food. Bread was slow coming to the table on this busy night but, nothing unusual during the busy holiday season. The ambiance overall was beautiful. I selected the gaucho steak & my fiancé ordered the goat ragu. The rest of the family was each able to find something to meet their palette including my sister who's vegetarian & gluten intolerant. The steak was cooked perfectly. It did not come with any veggies which felt a little odd. A couple asparagus to the side would have rounded out the meal but, the flavor was there for the steak. The goat ragu stole the show that night. The flavor was absolutely amazing!

This place has been on my list forever and WOW!! For my birthday this year, I wanted to try a "progressive dinner," and do three stops (apps, entree, dessert at separate locations)--Olive + Oak was our first stop last night. We ordered from their current house cocktails (unfortunately I missed which numbers, and can't seem to get the menu to pull up on their website at the moment)--and loved both. The one pictured in the pineapple had a nice spice and the other was sweet and delicious! We tried the Blue Crab Gratin which was well worth the price. Very crab-forward and decadent--the pretzel crisps that came with it were perfection. We followed that with some raw oysters (mix of east and west) which had every accompaniment you could ever want. They were fresh and high quality. I missed taking a photo, unfortunately. Our server (unfortunately missed her name) was a dream. She checked in with us appropriately and was very professional and kind. The ambiance was perfect--airy and comfortable, but not overly bright. The high ceilings and enormous windows were lovely and made the space feel super special. There were families but it was still a comfortable volume, definitely still amazing for a quiet date night. I can't wait to return to sample more of their menu! Thank you for getting my birthday off to the most amazing start!!

From the moment you walk in the doors you are greeted with an earthy green space. We made reservations, which I highly recommend, so we were seated immediately. Our server was extremely attentive and ensured that we had everything we could possibly need. The food was superb. Highly recommend the cheese curds!! I put them up there with Wisconsin Cheese Days quality... and that's saying something!! Now the burger.... Perfection. One of the best burgers I have ever had in STL hands down. Now, room for improvement... table service. Almost every 10 minutes someone stopped by our table to ask if they could take away a plate that still had food on it. No! We are talking and eating. It got annoying after a while and I felt like I had to fight to keep my food. I'm there to enjoy my meal not be rushed through it. Other than that one area of attention... it was perfect. Sorry for the limited photos... the gram did not eat first! Hahah Parking: Tricky as it's street parking. Spots are limited so plan ahead or plan to walk.

The story is on the walls, love it.

Celebrated a friend's birthday here last night and the entire experience was spectacular!! For starters, I ordered a trio of oysters - the west coast (my fav), roasted, and fire roasted oysters - definitely can't go wrong here.. yum! I also split a Caesar salad and the crumble with the dressing paired so well. The beef tartare was also ordered and they enjoyed it! For entrees, I had the waitress surprise me. She brought the buttonwood farms chicken! It was different and something I've never tried before. Good and unique! Other entrees that were ordered: the beef tenderloin, prime cowboy ribeye, the burger, and the halibut. Every dish got a glowing review! I snagged a bite of the steak and it was so so delicious! Also, don't skip the fries with the house sauce.. a very important tip. While everyone else ordered dessert to go, I decided to end with the coconut kiss martini. It was the perfect final touch to my night! Side note, this is a gorgeous restaurant, rich and intentional, it shows there is a story to tell. A big thank you to Kenzie for taking such great care of us! Can't wait to come back!

At the bar. Small house salad, icebox martini, cheese sandwich.

Came for the happy hour, which i was quite pleased with. The space, with the bug windows, white tiles, mirrors, and greenery, is beautiful. Good hh prices (small selection of cocktails at 2/3 price, 8 dollar house wines, several snack/food options). Not as many vegetarian options on the hh menu, but I think otherwise a fine selection. I'd love to come back for dinner, if im feeling extravagant one day.

This restaurant is a 10 out of 10. My boyfriend and I came here for a date night and it definitely was a good vibe. It's a very cute restaurant with low lighting and it's an intimate setting. We ordered some of the oysters and they were so good. We got the roasted and the fire roasted ones. They were so good and I will definitely be back for those. We both ended up ordering the steak, which was also very good and flavorful. We ended our meal with chocolate cake and a root beer float. The food came out very fast and all of the weight staff was very kind.

I came for a HH and enjoyed three different cocktails. My first was a Gold Rush. It's basically a Bees Knees with Vodka instead of Gin. It was light and refreshing, making it a great start. The second cocktail was one of my all-time favorites, a Old Fashioned. I can honestly say, it was one of the best, if not the absolute best one I have ever had. I finished the HH with a Espresso Martini. It was a good ending to my HH. They use a Cold Brew instead of true espresso, so it had a milder coffee taste. My nosh while drinking was a, Jalapeño Popper Dip. It was okay, in my opinion, it did not fit the description on the menu. Especially, the type of chips described. My friend ordered, The Small Board and it was fantastic and a good value. Our bartenders were friendly and as I stated earlier, they are masters of their skill. What stopped them from getting a 5 Star review, is simple. They do not offer a Martini on their Happy Hour Menu. I'm a Martini Man and that disappointed me, but it wont keep me away, it just keeps them short of 5 Stars.

It was already getting late so we were worried we wouldn't find one in time, when this spot popped up! Their Happy Hour goes until 6:30!! Happy Hour is limited to the bar area only. I have no idea why I haven't heard more about this spot, and I'm honestly surprised it's not hyped up more! The restaurant itself is quite small and is located on the other side of Yellow Belly. The entrance has minimal space that looks to be able to accommodate 4 or 6 people if you're waiting for a table. Inside, the spacing is fairly decent for being a smaller location. I didn't feel too crammed dining and the 2-seater table was of normal size so there was enough room. We were seated right by the entrance with a curtain separating the area. True to its name, a Tiger statue sits at the entrance which is decorated in tropical manner. The theme continues within the restaurant. Lazy Tiger has a happy hour which if I remember correctly, ended at 6:30. Their cocktails are $12 during happy hour (rather than $14) and they have a selection of snack type items which you could have as appetizers if you'd like. We both got a cocktail. My husband had the human costume (gin, amaro, blanc vermouth, melon, gnartruese, malic acid) and I had the humble brag (gin, rhum, salted banana, forbidden rice, coconut, lemon). Both were refreshing and different but in a good and surprising way. We started with the nachos from the happy hour menu and added some pork belly per our writer's recommendation. I love pork belly anything anyway. The nacho was a huge serving! And it was very tasty with a good amount of crispy pork belly peppered throughout. I had the Morrocan spiced halibut served with couscous, asparagus, Spanish chorizo, tomatoes, pistachio dukkah. Halibut was well seasoned and prepared perfectly. We also shared an order of the vegetable fried rice and added some spam because I am a sucker for spam fried rice. It came with some chili crisps which brought the dish to another level. My husband had the tamales which he thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't get to try some but it looked fantastic. We ended up taking home the rest of my meal and the rest of the fried rice which have been devoured over the weekend. Service was fantastic. I love the vibe, I love the food!

Didn't know if we should enter - the sign for please wait to be seated is right inside the door and…read morethe restaurant is separated with a drape. I peaked my head in and no one was around I asked a customer if I come In it was awkward. The hostess was great and our server was great also! Explained all drinks and about the place. The food was so amazing - we got a bunch to try and liked each thing. The place is small and cozy without feeling crowded. It was a little dark
