One of the coolest and chill speakeasy in St. Louis. For one the service is crazy good. The owner personally gave us her personal recommendations for the drinks and they did not disappoint! I honestly forgot the name of mine but it was very good and you can taste the liquor. I did get a second drink the old fashion and it was really good as well. Will definitely be back for more!

I love a speakeasy!!! The cocktail menus was unique with politically inspired drinks along your classics. The people so friendly and kind! The space is small but the vibe and music was on point! Note the upstairs spot Monstera was great too and is more tequila forward!

Been wanting to hit new society for a minute and what an experience. You walk through the book shelf in Grand Spirits and are immersed in a unique, one of a kind speakeasy in the basement. A lot of speakeasies have a very 20's vibe which is great. New society is a smorgasbord of eras. It is rustic, historic, contemporary, and whimsical. So many vibes meshed into one beautifully designed concept. The bar program is great. Inventive and culinary. Everything seems to be based--in some part-- to food which is awesome. The grilled cheese and orchard and the seed were our drinks. The grilled cheese was so unique. Notes of caramelized onions, brie, and sourdough. The apple oil atop the drink offered fantastic aromatics with every sip. Orchard and the seed was boozy, yet bright. The lemon paint and raspberry dusting along the rim elevate this drink a lot. The workers were awesome. Interactive, accommodating, and they all seemed to be having a ton of fun. Also, tons of camaraderie amongst the group which was really cool. I can't wait to get back. You can always order a classic here, but why not step out of your comfort zone and trust the work the bar team has put in place? Dare to be different, New Society has

This place was a highlight of my trip to St. Louis. So glad I stumbled upon it when we were in Tower Grove. The ambiance is definitely very dark and cozy and I loved how creative their drinks were. My friend has food intolerances and our server was knowledgeable about what she could and couldn't order, and with their creative drink menu there are a variety of ingredients. If I lived in town I would want to go all the time to try all their drinks before they change (I'm just assuming that they change up their menu since it was based on art, but that might be wrong). Great concept and it was so fun tasting drinks you couldn't get at most places. Some drinks are on the pricier side - my husband got one that was $25 but for the most part they ranged from 14-16 dollars, which for the level of care that is put into each drink, felt like a great deal.

I love a hidden speakeasy bar! The wine and cocktails selection is amazing. I love drinks that tells you a story and/or a theme. This location gives you both with these drinks, ambience and themed stories. The customer service is great; they check on you, help with selecting your order. I love the lower hidden lounge!! I didn't get a chance to try the food options but I will be back to visit.

Wow. I've told so many people about this. I've been wanting a real speakeasy in St. Louis so I was very excited to see this place open up! It was really great when we arrived and were directed down the stairs and the party closest to the bookcase was so shocked there was something there. The basement probably isn't very exciting then the lights are all on, but the ambiance and experience are beyond cool. The bartenders are so friendly and chatty. The drinks were superb. Really, I keep telling everyone the apple pie drink was like liquid apple pie. How?!?!?! This definitely is a special treat and if I have friends come into town I would try it out again, but it's pricey, especially for St. Louis, so not a quickly outing!

The Ultimate Speakeasy in St. Louis Looking for an intimate cocktail experience? Featuring one of a kind libations, creative concoctions, and over the top presentation, this basement speakeasy in the middle of the city is the vibe you're looking for. @newsocietystl located inside @grandspiritsbottleshop on @southgrandstl Stellar Indulgences: -Apple Pie with Fireball cotton candy was one of my faves! -Pumpkin Three Ways- literally 3 different drinks featuring the versatility of pumpkin. One with butterscotched pumpkin & sage. One with Vietnamese coffee & pumpkin spiced latte. And one with black garlic rye & roasted pumpkin. -The Kitchen Sink with everything from potato chips, chocolate gingerbread infused vodka, & caramel tea. This one scores high marks on the oddity scale. -Oyster Shooters that taste 100% like an oyster, but have ZERO fish. The salt water foam finish is inspired! They have some small bites, too! Don't miss the caviar bumps, Little Mac burger, and black bean hummus. Open Thurs-Fri-Sat. Head to their website to make reservations since they book up quickly! #marydrinksstl #newsocietystl #stlspeakeasy #stlcocktails #southgrandstl

I think New society has become my absolute top 1 among all of the craft cocktails places in all St. Louis. First of all, it's a speakeasy so you know it's gonna be a unique experience. When you enter from South Grand, you will see a separate bar/liquor store called Grand Spirit. At first, I thought they offered the same menu but turned out, they had a different selections of drinks for that area. You can grab a drink while waiting for your table. I made reservations in advance because we had a party of 5. You can do it via their website. It's $2.5 per person to deposit for the reservation. The employee explained to me that unfortunately they had people taking their cups and things at the bar, hence the deposit. If you only go with a smaller party (3 or less), I think walk-ins are fine. Since the bar is located right on the south grand, parking is on both side of the street or you can find a spot in the neighborhood street around. If you come after 9pm, there are plenty of spots. I'm not going to spoil the fun entrance to New Society. Once we got to our table, I was immediately entranced by the cool ambience. It was smaller than I expected but very cozy. The music matched the vibe and I enjoyed it very much. What really stood out to me about New Society was their mixology. Their drink menu was so unique and well thought out. It was a culinary experience as much as a mixology one. I ordered the Mashed Sweet Potatoes and I absolutely loved the different nuanced flavors. Price wise, I don't think it is higher than your average craft cocktails. I think it's definitely worth it. I cant wait to come back and try out more drinks from them.

I ended up finding out about New Society on Tock. We made a spur of the moment reservation for cocktails at 10 PM. This was an interesting cocktail spot. They had very unique experimental cocktails that didn't taste like anything I had tried before. Even the menu was detailed, explaining each drink and what one can expect from the drink. We tried a few different drinks - the one With the shrimp, Kernel Sanders and La Vida loca. All the drinks were distinct and lived up to the expectation. The place itself can be a bit hard to find. It's located in the ground floor inside a wine bar. Definitely worth trying it if you like trying unique cocktails.

New Society Friday! Check out this speakeasy vibing spot New Society on South Grand open Friday & Saturday nights! The name "Society" In my recent travels, I've seen several spots with "Society" in the name. The term "café society" described groups of people and cliques who hung around in swanky cafés and bars in London, NY & Paris in the late 19th century like the 21 Club in NYC for example.

Alot of really unique options, delicious foods. It was nice that each res is a 90 minute booking, so plenty of time to drink and chat. MacKenzie, our bartender was amazing and we received a celebratory bday drink too.

The basement speakeasy under Grand Spirits had a very eclectic layout and decor and a very chill vibe; minimalistic with great music. A perfect hangout spot. Very few tables, so reservations are needed on weekends for sure. Your reservation gets you about 90 minutes of time on busy weekends; longer if there aren't reservations behind you. Cocktails range from twists on old classics (Manhattan, Daquiri, Sazerac) to very inventive / experimental flavors and textures. We had the Tunnel Vision, Daiquiri, Kitchen Sink, Sazerac among others. We enjoyed everything we had. Service was attentive and informative as well. We did not try the food. Would definitely recommend.

New Society is doing something no one else is. Their menu is 'culinary forward' which translates to drinks that taste like food. We tried Corn, BBQ and Beans and were pleasantly surprised by each. It tastes like a meal in a glass in a really fun way! The atmosphere is dark and moody and the bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. There were too many drinks to try in one visit, so I'll be back!

'ssippi is a new(ish) wine bar set towards the western end of the collection of bars, restaurants, and shops that are the heart of the strip. The inside has a large wrap about bar and some limited seating. There is a very good selection of wine and mixed drinks and an okay selection of beer. The prices are reasonable. There is a very limited food menu which largely consists of snacks rather than proper entrees. So this is a great pre/post drink spot rather than somewhere you would spend an evening. The bartenders were fine. Nothing stood out either in a good or bad way. The mixed drink my wife had was very good. The orange wine I had was good, a bit on the dry side but overall no complaints from either of us. Without a highlight of the spot is the large patio. It is mostly taken up by large bench style seating. So you have to be okay sitting next to strangers. I actually enjoy these types of settings and I ended up chatting up the group to our right. There are a couple tables but they are few and far between. There are some overhead canopies and lights, and there was a nice vibe and energy. I was there and it was crowded. I really enjoyed it. Just two additional things to note. The bathroom line was very long. It must only be one stall. The entire time I was there it was a dozen people deep. The only other downside is that my wife and I felt old. The vibe on a late(ish) Saturday night was mainly 20 year olds. If I was in grad school or a recent graduate I would absolutely adore this place. Even if your 30s this probably is a good vibe. I tried the Pretty in Pink cocktail, which was well-balanced and enjoyable, though the pour felt a bit light for a martini. Normally one martini gives me a slight buzz, but that wasn't the case here. Surprisingly, it still worked. I ordered the Good Burger, and it was honestly one of the most flavorful smash burgers I've ever had. I was genuinely impressed. I got the sauce on the side since it also came with the onion rings, and unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of it -- it was a bit runny and lacked flavor. My friend ordered the vegan burger and absolutely loved it. The inside of the restaurant was cute and had a great atmosphere, though there was an unusual smell indoors, so I was very thankful we were able to grab one of the outdoor tables.
