Went for a night cap after my birthday dinner and we had a fabulous time! We just had drinks but the ambiance was so cozy and sexy with the lights turned down. We had great service and all our drinks were great! So so good! Can't wait to go back.

Loved the vibe of Brennan's! It is a very cool modern space with an event room attached, which is where we had our sushi tasting event. We still had Brennan's drinks from the bar - which were awesome! The service was top tier. Also, loved the bathroom and had to snap a few pics will be back!!

Luxurious and upscale cocktail bar vibe without the insane prices. Drinks are really good quality and there are a variety of signature drinks. Comfortable environment with low booths and tables as well as bar seating. We went on a Friday night and were able to find a table relatively quickly, although it was full the entire night! Will definitely be going back and is certainly my go-to recommendation for cocktail bars when people inquire on new places or for visitors of St. Louis.

I love Brennan's so much. It's cozy, has really great service, and the cocktails are wonderful. I enjoy how quaint it feels, and it has an elevated feel to it. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon when it was still warm out and sat on the patio. Their patio is small but intimate, and is a great place to unwind from the day. I ordered the dirty martini (vodka) and the ratio of olive/ vodka was perfect. You'll also find that it gets packed quickly (it's a popular spot- rightfully so) so I recommend going in the middle of the week. If you don't mind a little bit of a wait, the weekend is great too :)

Love the vibe of this place! Their cocktails are batched, but some of the best and most creative cocktails I've had. I never knew I needed a beet juice cocktail until I had it here! The thing that surprised me the most about this place was the food. We always used to just come for cocktails and one day we decided on charcuterie and a flatbread. They totally hit the spot and were very complimentary to their amazing cocktail selection. The bartenders know what they're doing there! It can get super busy at night so if you're trying to go, try to plan ahead and go earlier than anticipated because there may be a wait.

Updated review: as this is my 5th or 6th visit, I'd love to update my review. At this point, I have tried the Corpse Reviver, Pineapple Daiquiri, A Weis Mans Martini, If I Did It, and Smokey the Pear. The Corpse Reviver and Martini were amazing, strong without making you flinch! The others were sweet and went down smoothly with the Pineapple Daiquiri being my favorite in terms of flavor. The service ranges from great to okay depending on who you get, but they have never been rude. I know I described it as a yuppie bar and it's still accurate, but I really do like the vibe!

We showed up on a random Wednesday night and the ambiance was pretty great, the decor was wonderful and the wall of whiskeys was very impressive. Unfortunately, the stench coming from the trash can under the bar was also quite impressive and oppressive. We ended up staying for just one drink because it smelled terribly. The bar tender did great, but should have been a bit more mindful of the stench.

I've been coming here for years and am always surprised at how each visit surpasses the last. I arrived with my date and despite it being packed, we were able to snag a two-seater in the room to the side. We were immediately given water (always a plus) and menus to peruse. We went through a few different cocktails and since we were having such a good time, I only managed to get a picture of one (Lex on the beach). This place has always impressed me with their top notch service, well-curated drinks, and fun, lively atmosphere. We ended up shutting the place down and befriending Alex, one of the bartenders in the other room. This was such an incredible night and I can't wait to come back again.

Super cute place for drinks. Came on a Saturday and it was pretty busy but we were able to snag a table. Had a great vibe but was a little loud. For food, we got chicken tacos, dumplings, and the jalapeño honey flatbread. The flatbread was an absolute stand out and we need to go back and get it again. The tacos weren't the best and we would not order them again. The drinks were also good.

Great atmosphere for a late evening stop for a few drinks! Bar staff was awesome with suggestions and conversations with plenty of laughs in between. Will be adding it to the rotation of stops!

Brennan's is a must, if you are wanting a fresh spin on classic cocktails! The service is amazing the staff is very friendly! If you are wanting an approachable atmosphere to enjoy what feels like an upscale cocktail Brennan's is the place to be! Make sure to ask about their to-batch cocktails if you are hosting your own gathering and want to serve up tasty drinks!

Stopped here for an old-fashioned on a beautiful crisp day. Temperatures were just warm enough to sit on the patio and enjoy all the people watching. Staff was super friendly, drink was absolute perfection, and when I went inside to pay my tab, I was entirely tempted to stay. The atmosphere is spot on.

went on a friday night! pretty busy but lots of seating. loved the dark and moody vibes. they have seating outside as well. if you're a true espresso martini girly don't order theirs is a bit diabolical. i will say some of their tables were sticky and since so many people were coming and going it was a little hard for the workers to get to clean. the crowd here was the typical 25+ girlies. some couples and groups. a little more upscale the drink menu didn't wow me personally. there was only one drink i even considered trying. they do have a decent amount of small bites though

'ssippi is a new(ish) wine bar set towards the western end of the collection of bars, restaurants, and shops that are the heart of the strip. The inside has a large wrap about bar and some limited seating. There is a very good selection of wine and mixed drinks and an okay selection of beer. The prices are reasonable. There is a very limited food menu which largely consists of snacks rather than proper entrees. So this is a great pre/post drink spot rather than somewhere you would spend an evening. The bartenders were fine. Nothing stood out either in a good or bad way. The mixed drink my wife had was very good. The orange wine I had was good, a bit on the dry side but overall no complaints from either of us. Without a highlight of the spot is the large patio. It is mostly taken up by large bench style seating. So you have to be okay sitting next to strangers. I actually enjoy these types of settings and I ended up chatting up the group to our right. There are a couple tables but they are few and far between. There are some overhead canopies and lights, and there was a nice vibe and energy. I was there and it was crowded. I really enjoyed it. Just two additional things to note. The bathroom line was very long. It must only be one stall. The entire time I was there it was a dozen people deep. The only other downside is that my wife and I felt old. The vibe on a late(ish) Saturday night was mainly 20 year olds. If I was in grad school or a recent graduate I would absolutely adore this place. Even if your 30s this probably is a good vibe. Once you hit 40 though you may feel a bit out of place on busy nights (or it will make you feel young again!)

Versatile, knows…read morehow to treat yo' self, equally at home in yoga pants, ready for a backwoods adventure or dressed to the nines, and doesn't blink at any version of you that walks through the door. That's the vibe. We started on the front patio on a Friday night and quickly realized we'd made a mistake. The doors to the interior were open and the music -- a rock-forward playlist that night -- was loud enough that we considered bailing. Our server, was unbothered when we asked to move up to the rooftop. Where we met with a new bartender and server, London, who rolled with it, got us resettled, and from that point on the night was great. London was clearly handling the bar and most of the rooftop tables, but she was attentive throughout, and made eye contact, which seems a near miracle from many 20-something these days. Bumping the score up just for the flexibility on the table move alone. The food: crab cakes were genuinely good, not life-changing, but well above the weak-crab-cake bar that exists in most of the world, served simply with capers and a small salad. I went off-script and ordered the wagyu burger medium rare with fontina (London mentioned cheddar is the more common pick, but the Fontina offerd a great alternative). The burger was deeply flavorful and cooked exactly right, but here's my one real note for the kitchen: toast the brioche bun. Wagyu medium-rare puts out a lot of juice, and an untoasted bun loses its structural integrity about three bites in. A quick toast would let the bun keep some additional integrate and keep up with the perfectly cooked beef. The pom buff were great, the best elevated patato tots you may come by. Beyond what we ordered, the Greek salad is a longtime go-to -- chopped, with grape leaves and pita, available in a small or large, and easily dressed up into a light meal with or without adding some protein or can be share as a self-dress bruschetta appetizer for the group if you ask for extra bread. The cheese boards are also a reliable pick. The wine list is extensive (it's a wine bar, after all), but they don't sniff at cocktails -- I had a solid fine old fashioned, and my wife shared had a Malbec that paired well with everything. Lots of gluten-free options across the menu, too. What Sasha's gets right is that it has refused to become precious. "Wine bar" reads as pretentious to some people, but this place runs as a neighborhood spot. You'll see college kids dressed way down, couples on dates dressed way up, Hawaiian shirts, oversized sweaters, the full range. It's the kind of place where you can split a bottle with your girlfriends, meet a date for drinks and a quick bite without committing to a full dinner, or roll in for brunch on the weekend. Different times of day, different vibes -- always approachable. 4.7 stars. Loses a few tenths for the front-patio music situation and the weak burger bun, but more than makes up for it on flexibility, food, and overall hang factor.

There were a few open tables, but we were asked to wait by the door while they "got situated." Meanwhile, a walk-in who arrived after us was seated at a table we had been waiting for. When we were finally seated, we were placed in direct sun. I asked if we could move to a shaded table in the corner and was told it was only for parties of three. After explaining we'd just be there briefly for a drink, we were allowed to sit there, but the interaction felt dismissive. From that point on, the experience felt rushed. We were pushed to order quickly, our menus were taken right away, and the check came almost immediately. It made what should have been a relaxed stop feel uncomfortable and transactional. I understand how busy restaurants can get, especially on nice days, but a little more consideration and courtesy would have gone a long way.

I had my first dinner of my stay at Olive + Oak, and it blew me away from the moment I laid my eyes on it. From the unsuspecting street outside, the giant windows glow with the warm, sparkling light from within. An elegant dining room with a beautiful bar and a good amount of hustle and bustle. I felt like I was at an upscale New Orleans joint. Very cozy. Service was just as beautiful. Our server was extremely nice, new the menu backwards and forwards, and rattled off the nightly specials without hesitation. And on top of all of that, when we were getting some stuff to-go, she threw in more bread for us! You can't train that level of service. That's just a good person. Onto the food. We started off with the Blue Crab Gratin (calabrian chili, celery + pretzel bread). This was ooey, gooey, cheesy, delicious, had a fair amount of crab in it, had a nice little kick, and the sliced, crunchy pretzel bread dippers were exquisite. Something seasonal that isn't on their menu anymore, we ordered an Okonomiyaki, which is a savory Japanese pancake, basically, covered in sauce. Wow, this thing was done well. Very reminiscent of the authentic thing I've had in Japan. Very nice. Another dish that isn't on the menu anymore, the Catfish dish. It was slightly Asian and on top of some sort of risotto rice. I can't remember exactly, but I do remember that it was very well cooked, had a nice char. An eclectic dish that came together very nicely. I also got to try some of the Rabbit Crepe (port wine braised rabbit, blueberry, fennel, arugula + kenny's bleu gouda crepe). Some people might shudder at the idea of eating rabbit. Those people need to grow up. Rabbit is one of the most succulent, delicious meats out there, and in this wonderful flavor combination, in a crepe. This chef is genius. I could have downed two of these things. We finished off the night with the recommended Cloud Cake (vanilla chiffon cake, coconut pastry cream, coconut + whipped cream icing). This thing was de-ca-dent. A nice, thicc sponge, a very coconuty cream, and a whipped icing with lots of coconut pulp in it. So heavenly. Overall, my socks were blown off. Not only does St. Louis have good food, this was a better meal than I had in Nashville and Kansas City. Who would have guessed. I would love to come back.

We arrived right on time for our reservation, stood for quite a few minutes in a half-empty house before being seated, then waited a very long time between visits from our apparently over-stretched waitstaff. Food was middle of the road. A smoked sirloin sandwich was tasty, though rather well-done. And the order of "salmon cakes", which the menu says is made of "smoked salmon, roast corn, tomato, cucumber, creme fraiche, and capers" was in fact just one cake (not cakes!), smaller than a hockey puck (about 1/2" thick max) and seemed to be made of canned fish, not the bright orange of smoked salmon.
