Cute bar. Not very big but comfortable bar and seating area. Well stocked ! Make sure your gps is on and you pay attention to their address. Outside logo/ sign not very prominent. Cocktails/ wine and food offerings at happy hour made it happy! Service great! Provided live music and in the small space made it hard to hear anything but!

The cocktail 101 class was amazing! The bartender was fantastic and we had the best time. You get to make three full sized cocktails and learn about the spirits and other ingredients while making them. A great weekend activity!

Great spot! Fun vibe and great menu with lots of regular cocktails and NA cocktail options. The bartenders and service is great here. Highly recommend!

In a town with a lot of cocktail bars, this one is missable. We didn't get the food, but the drinks were not worth the trip nor the price.

The Vandy is serving up sweet hospitality and perfect cocktails, just on the southeast edge of The Grove. Park on the street (check along Talmage, across Vandeventer--we found plenty of space there--and take care crossing the road.) We visited on a Saturday evening and grabbed barstools so we could have a good look at the bottle selection and chat with the bartender about the menu. Parker took care of us, recommending drinks and explaining ingredients. The online menu is thoughtfully sorted out with drink types: agave cocktails, gin cocktails, etc. We tried several, and really loved the Soothing After Sun (Hayman's Gin, Svol Aquavit, St. George Absinthe, Chareau Aloe, Lime, Mint) and the Oaxacan Old Fashioned (Bittercube Trinity Bitters, Madre Espadin, Banhez Mango Distillate, El Mayor Reposado). Everything was truly top-notch, with some adventurous concoctions as well as standards. Even the garnishes were well-considered, from fresh marigolds to gummy baby corn. I really loved that there was a TV but it wasn't showing sports--for our visit they played German game shows (ever seen a competition based on who can most accurately cut a piece of fruit in half? we have now!) The vibe was very welcoming; all good people (adults!) should be comfortable at The Vandy.

Superb service, martinis, and vibes. First time in the vandy after many a night wanting to get out. Rolled in with a friend for a few drinks, and wow. First and foremost: the hospitality was second to none. The server and bartender were cutting it up, and making sure everything was up to standard. This place is cocktail driven x 100. Watched the bartender pour out a drink he wasn't happy with. A lot of places don't like wasting that drink. In any case... i kept things simple with a 50/50 gin martini and amaro highball. My friend stirred up that martini nice and cold. Beauty, We also got the pigs in a blanket. I was transported straight to childhood. The difference? These pigs in a blanket are elite. The flaky, layered, buttery fila dough wraps the dogs with a delicate, warm hug. The sweet bbq sauce is an incredible touch to add some sweetness. Absolutely amazing quality driven cocktail bar for happy hour, or date night

This place has been on my list for a while. I finally stopped in with some friends at the end of summer for their tiki cocktail pop-up. Forgive me, I forgot the official name. The entrance is a little hidden, I passed it by and almost missed it. But that's what I love about it, it's almost secretive! But what's definitely not a secret is how amazing the cocktails are! This place was packed, and for good reason. Stop in and get a cocktail, you won't regret it. The staff is friendly and the vibe is super relaxed. Can't wait to check it out this fall and see what special cocktails they have for us!

I really enjoyed my visit to the Vandy. It's a place that is very well curated, from the way it's decorated to the drink presentation! When you enter through the nondescript front door, you are transported to a very cozy, intimate cocktail bar. It was busy, but they sat my group of 4 very quickly and the servers are so friendly even when they are busy. The drinks are unique and mixed to perfection. 2 of my friends got the Bee's Knees, and said it was unlike any other Bee's Knees they had had. I was very enamored by the clothes pin holding my garnish. They have a TV, but it's not a sports bar - it was playing a cooking show at first, and then the bartender switched it to miniature pig racing. Absolutely my kind of place!!

I've been to the Vandy a few times for cocktails and have always enjoyed the experience. Awhile back I purchased vouchers for their cocktail class, and my family and I finally redeemed them the other weekend. I'd highly recommend checking Cocktails 101 out, Pat was an excellent teacher and was full of information about every ingredient we used. We made an Old Fashioned, a Daiquiri, and a twist on a Margarita. Hope to check out another one of their classes soon!

I bought a private cocktail class for six hosted by The Vandy, at The Sheldon's annual gala....this cocktail class did not disappoint!! We spent a couple of hours with The Vandy's beverage manager who showed us how to make three drinks - it was such a a good time, and I'm looking forward to going back on one of their regular nights for a drink!! If you have never been to The Vandy, I highly recommend - and trust your GPS when it tells you it's the building on the corner :) we drove around the block three times, before we finally decided that was the place LOL!

This is a must visit if you're in the Grove! Everything here was immaculate- food, vibes, drinks, and service! Parking was easy too, there is plenty of street parking around the bar. When I first walked up to the building, I was a little confused because there were no signs outside showing the name-- just a small sign at the door. But, honestly? I think that's the perfect vibe for this place. As I walked in, it was decorated perfect for fall. It's a beautiful place, totally not what you would expect looking at the building. I ordered the Boston Molasses Flood (great name!), the espresso liqueur and the cold brew gave such a rich flavor that nicely balanced out the tequila and rum. For small plates, my friend and I ordered the Devils on a Horseback. I have never had anything like it before, and I would love to have it again! A perfect blend of crispy, sweet, and savory! Our other small plate was the Twice-Baked Potato Dip. It was served with crostinis. It was delectable, definitely another dish I would have again. The potato mixed with sour cream, cheese, and chives was so flavorful. Everyone who works here is also so nice and respectful. I had a wonderful experience here!

The Vandy is a quaint and cozy cocktail bar located on the outskirts of The Grove. It's the perfect place for an intimate date night or happy hour with a small group of friends. Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He was super helpful and helped us make the perfect drink choice. We got several appetizers, I really enjoyed the pimento cheese and the cheese board. My friend chose a mocktail and was very impressed with its flavor and balance. Will definitely be returning in the future.

But the bartender was quick and the food, mac and cheese, came out in no time. The winter sangria was a serious drink. Not a punchy, fruity sangria. This was a winey sangria. It was a pretty serious drink. I'd probably get a weaker, sweeter drink next time, because that is my taste. The mac and cheese was pretty good. Quite hot! It came packed in this little bowl. I felt so cozy here... It made for one of my preferred eating out in the city in winter experiences.

The cocktail list is solid, and the beer selection is seriously impressive, packed with a great mix of local breweries and unique options. There's also a nice outdoor seating area, but honestly, the magic of this spot is at the bar. The atmosphere there really brings everything together. One of the coolest touches is the large display of vinyl records, it adds a ton of character and gives the whole place a unique, almost nostalgic energy. We didn't try the food this time since we just stopped in for drinks, but it's definitely on the list for next visit. Looking forward to coming back and spending more time enjoying this gem of a spot.

I don't get down to Cherokee Street that much so a lot of new places come and go without me knowing…read moreabout it. 'ssippi is a new(ish) wine bar set towards the western end of the collection of bars, restaurants, and shops that are the heart of the strip. The inside has a large wrap about bar and some limited seating. There is a very good selection of wine and mixed drinks and an okay selection of beer. The prices are reasonable. There is a very limited food menu which largely consists of snacks rather than proper entrees. So this is a great pre/post drink spot rather than somewhere you would spend an evening. The bartenders were fine. Nothing stood out either in a good or bad way. The mixed drink my wife had was very good. The orange wine I had was good, a bit on the dry side but overall no complaints from either of us. Without a highlight of the spot is the large patio. It is mostly taken up by large bench style seating. So you have to be okay sitting next to strangers. I actually enjoy these types of settings and I ended up chatting up the group to our right. There are a couple tables but they are few and far between. There are some overhead canopies and lights, and there was a nice vibe and energy. I was there and it was crowded. I really enjoyed it. Just two additional things to note. The bathroom line was very long. It must only be one stall. The entire time I was there it was a dozen people deep. The only other downside is that my wife and I felt old. The vibe on a late(ish) Saturday night was mainly 20 year olds. If I was in grad school or a recent graduate I would absolutely adore this place. Even if your 30s this probably is a good vibe. Once you hit 40 though you may feel a bit out of place on busy nights (or it will make you feel young again!)

Their drink program is STELLAR! Over the course of my group's visit we tried what felt like most of their seasonal cocktail menu. Highlights were the Mexitalian, Peach Bite, and Savannah Slammer. Nobody had a drink they didn't like! The LA vibe does come with the LA price though....whenever I pay over like $12 for a cocktail in STL I cringe a little bit. I'm a bit torn on the food. Best deviled eggs I've had in my life, and the Brussels sprouts caesar was lovely. The poutine was also super yummy. My Cuban sandwich was fine, as were the onion rings. They had a great crunch, but the onion on the inside was very thin. Plus a $2 up charge for 4 onion rings was a bit much, I thought. I wanted an entree they ran out of, so I could have just been tainted by that. Nothing was bad by any means! Dessert was good. We opted for cookies for easy sharing, and we liked them! Get the cookie dough ice cream with them. It was loaded with cookie dough. I'm excited to try them again, and hopefully get the entree I wanted! They also have a pretty good happy hour it seems.
