There are two bars with two separate entries for this bar. Depending on the day- one of the sides will be open which have different cocktails on their menu. My group and I went on a Saturday night. Many of the craft cocktails had some sort of cream base. Highly recommend the OG Manhattan, Water Lilly and Espresso Martini. The owner and bartenders are inviting and create an environment for varying crowds.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A dark and moody bar that delivers both quick service and extremely well balanced drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu was varied. I particularly liked the Buddha's Dream. The Butterflies and Bees was out of this world and made for an excellent shot (though I wished I had gotten it as a drink because it was so tasty!)

It's always a treat to stop by one of my favorite hole-in-the-wall bars. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A dark, cozy and romantic setting[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], The owner, Ed, is always on point with his drinks. His employee was quick to seat us. I ordered the Ipanema girl and it was a delightful pink color, sweet and tart in taste and very refreshing. Lovely garnishes and water on the side made a cold evening a little warmer.

An absolute gem of a place. I was recently introduced to Pagan within the last year and am kicking myself for not making it here sooner. I think the thing I love the most about Pagan is that it is super low key, yet elevated. It's one door in a building off of Euclid and the sign is a bit hard to spot. When you walk in, it's a dark/ cozy vibe with low lighting and lots of trinkets around. There is bar seating, tables, and comfy seats. It's a pretty small spot, so I recommend coming early. They have servers, so sit down and relax and enjoy yourself :) I've been several times, but this time in particular I ordered their martini. I've only ever gotten wine here, and am so happy I finally got a cocktail. It was amazing. More of a lime/ citrus base than your typical martini. Loved it! It's great to go with friends or on a date night: highly recommend!

A new friend took me to what has become of St. Louis' mystery bookstore. Yes, I know Big Sleep Books took on the big sleep years ago, but I celebrate how worthy its successor is to share that space now that I've finally been there. While it's called "Pagan," think "sinful Victorians/Edwardians, with Halloween touches here and there". But "Pagan" more succinctly communicates that. Pagan is dark, kinda loud, but also intimate. No food here. Just cocktails... great cocktails. The best I've had in St. Louis and possibly anywhere. I ordered from... was it the "decadent" menu page? The page with the sweet options. This place has low online presence. We failed to find a menu as we discussed the cocktails we ordered. But one of my drinks had green tea and a dragon was illustrated on top. Pretty neat! I look forward to bringing several friends to Pagan!

Amazing service and wine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Subtracting a star because there is no toilet paper holder in the bathroom, you must use the germ infested toilet paper roll that sits on the bathroom cuck chair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Delicious craft drinks, the staff is very friendly and helpful! Great and chill vibes. Best place to get unique drinks and hangout with friends without it being crazy loud and busy around the CWE.

Its own world, dimly lit, intimate setting great for 2-4 people. There is space for a larger group but would recommend smaller numbers. I got the Pagan Martini which I highly recommend. I typically do a dry martini but really liked the flavor and balance of this martini. Service is helpful--very friendly and try to get you in quickly. I put 4 instead of 5 stars because I think the drinks are overpriced.

My boyfriend and I loved this place! Perfect for our date. The low lighting and building pictures on the wall really set the mood. The staff were very helpful and fast. The drinks were really cool. Especially the drink with the dragon.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a unique spot that can hold a candle to Maryland House or Brennan's.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived to a blue lighted, dark room with couches and ample seating for the taking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a perfect spot for larger groups as there were 6 of us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Much to our surprise this cozy spot is under the guise of a wine bar but actually has uniquely crafted cocktails that are well balanced and go down very smoothly. There is definitely a drink for everyone - even the stubborn beer lovers We were quickly served and our server was very nice and knowledgeable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a great spot![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Our time at Pagan and their *new* bar Silk Road was amazing. We always go to Pagan, but Silk Road blew us away. The lounge is right next door with elevated and creative cocktails you can find anywhere else. Our drinks were fresh with unique flavors. Staff is always so friendly with an exceptional owner who is often back behind the bar himself. You must try this place!

Incredible everything, from the door man to the bartender you can tell the people here care and are invested in what they are doing here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can feel the team atmosphere amongst the employees making the environment really feel like you are important as a customer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No food, as a hungry guy I will be leaving to get a snack but the delicious well thought out drinks make up for any lack of snack available.

Girls night - cute intimate bar for a great catch up with friends!

Heard about it from a friend & truly a hidden gem in the heart of Central West End! The cocktail menu has it all - anything from classics to wines from a variety of regions! I got a martini and it did not disappoint. My girl friends also joined in on the cocktail fun and got a couple classics!! Pretty small & intimate lounge - does open "later" a great place to grab a night cap after dinner in the area! We sat at the bar and enjoyed learning more from the bartender about the background of the "birth" of the Pagen bar!! Also service was great with offering his cocktail favorites!! Love the mysterious vibes & theme even flows into the menu well!! Great place for a date night or friend catch up!!

    Happy birthday ash!!

Scarlet's Wine Bar -- Wuthering Heights, But With Cocktails…read more Had Emily Brontë given Catherine and Heathcliff access to Scarlet's Wine Bar, Wuthering Heights might have been a significantly happier book. Forget wandering the moors crying out for your tortured lover. Get yourself to the patio, order a cocktail, and pull yourself together. Scarlet's is a hidden gem with just the right amount of romance and charm. It's perfect for a light lunch, a romantic dinner, or an afternoon spent dramatically staring into the distance while wondering why Heathcliff hasn't texted back. Start with the cocktails, which arrive mixed to perfection in beautiful, classic glassware. These are not drinks served in some unfortunate tumbler. These are the sort of glasses Catherine Earnshaw would have dramatically clutched while declaring, "I am Heathcliff!" before ordering another round. Then comes the food. The watermelon salad is out of this world--fresh, bright, and absolutely delicious. Frankly, there would have been considerably less misery at Thrushcross Grange had someone simply served everyone a proper salad. Follow it with the pear and prosciutto pizza. Sweet pear, salty prosciutto, crispy crust--layers of flavor almost as complicated as Catherine and Heathcliff's relationship, but with a much more satisfying ending. And then... The blueberry cheesecake. Light. Fluffy. Dreamy. As soft as the clouds drifting lazily above Scarlet's patio--and considerably less ominous than the clouds hanging over the Yorkshire moors. The staff is fantastic: warm, friendly, attentive, and thankfully no one appears to be harboring a decades-long revenge plot against another family. But the real star may be the patio. Sit outside. Order another cocktail. Let lunch stretch shamelessly into the afternoon. Watch the clouds roll by. Discuss lost loves. Curse the cruel hand of fate. Or just order another piece of cheesecake. Scarlet's Wine Bar is romantic, charming, delicious, and wonderfully relaxed. So forget Wuthering Heights. For one glorious afternoon, make it Wuthering Delights. Heathcliff! Heathcliff! ...I'll be on the patio.

The hummus we ordered witht he veggies was so good and we also had a potato app that was truly such a unique flavor with creme fraiche and walnuts. We went on a Sunday around 5 pm and there were already a couple other tables there, so I can imagine it fills up quickly at normal dinner times. We had the patatas bravas, which were good, and the croquetas de bacalao. The croquetas were a little runny for my taste. I usually prefer them a bit meatier, but they were still enjoyable. We also shared a cheese plate, which was a nice portion for a snack with wine. The wines we tried were very good. Overall, this feels like a great spot to stop for a couple glasses of wine and some snacks between plans. I could also see coming back and building a full meal by ordering a few different plates. We arrived right on time for our reservation, stood for quite a few minutes in a half-empty house before being seated, then waited a very long time between visits from our apparently over-stretched waitstaff. The first cocktail I chose wasn't available; nor was the first entree. I settled on the "red wine flight", and it arrived in three glasses. The server recited their names, but I didn't catch them. Food was middle of the road. A smoked sirloin sandwich was tasty, though rather well-done. And the order of "salmon cakes", which the menu says is made of "smoked salmon, roast corn, tomato, cucumber, creme fraiche, and capers" was in fact just one cake (not cakes!), smaller than a hockey puck (about 1/2" thick max) and seemed to be made of canned fish, not the bright orange of smoked salmon. It was accompanied by five thin slices of cucumber and three or four halved grape tomatoes. No corn, no capers. It was so boring, and an overpriced disappointment at $23. If this Bridge is actually closing and focusing on the event space, they've gone out with a whimper. And if they're actually continuing service, I hope they get the food a little closer to the menu descriptions. Our drinks and water glasses were empty for long stretches.
