Very nice little family owned Thai restaurant. Intimate but with seating for about 40 inside. The Jasmine fried rice with shrimp was excellent. My wife says the cucumber salad was amazing. We came in the afternoon and the lunch portions were generous. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was quite friendly and answered all our questions.This would.be a wonderful date night spot if you like an out-of-the-way quiet little restaurant. However, one thing makes me uncomfortable it's because the staff, the man staff always look like he is mad so I need to be careful. Everything is made fresh. Started with the Tom Yum Soup. Large shrimp with vegetables and was a little spicy but I loved it. Dinner included Pad Thai Shrimp and you pick 5 vegetables. Delicious. Half crispy duck was the Best I ever had in my life. I will eat there again, and again. I am starting to think why cook. Thai Woodhouse is my go to restaurant for lunch and dinner. It really bothers me to post a bad review for a small privately owned business and I would normally skip reviewing an establishment which fit this category completely. Tonight I will make an exception. My wife and I went with another couple who, like us are fairly well versed in Thai food and restaurants in general. This was our first visit to Thai Woodhouse and we chose this instead of Erohwan a mile down the street to see how this was. My wife ordered Tom Kai Gai and Pad Thai with chicken while order Tom Goong plus Ginger chili with chicken. We also ordered a Green Papaya Salad to share. Our friends also ordered Pad Thai, beef and a tofu and a cucumber salad to share. The service was very slow with the only waitstaff making a rare appearance. After the very long wait our soups appeared. My wife's soup was thin and watery without lemon grass, lime juice or fish sauce. My soup was made with a chicken stock and had in it tomatoes, green beans and green onions. It did not have lemon grass, galanga, (or ginger as a substitute), lime or fish sauce. It did have 4 good size shrimp, (21-26), and being made with chicken stock didn't taste like Tom Yung Goong. My wife's Pad Thai was bland as was our friends but there was an ample amount of meat in it. My Ginger garlic chicken was very good even though I couldn't detect either garlic or ginger... but it had a nice kick to it. Our friend said their cucumber salad was very good and as for our papaya salad - it never came! In the future we will drive by this restaurant and continue a mile down the road. Stop hear if you have plenty of time and are looking for mediocre food. read more

Amazing food, service was great. Very relax, calm place to have a nice meal. Me and my brother had fresh rolls and crispy rolls to start and they were better than we expected and the sauces were interchangeable between the rolls. Then we went to have the Tom Yum soup (which was so rich in flavors and the shrimp were huge and actually a good amount for the amount of broth and veggies) and cucumber salad (taste was great a tad sweeter than I like my food, but with a little salt and pepper, it was perfect.) My brother had the Crispy noodle lardna with beef and I had the Spicy noodles with chicken. I'm a major spicy food eater, so the medium spice wasn't enough for me--it was enough for me brother though. The waiter ended up bringing all the spices to our table because I told him it wasn't spicy enough and the 2 higher spices definitely satisfied my taste buds read more

Thai Woodhouse definitely has the best Thai food in Ormond beach!! The food tastes very fresh and is definitely authentic. I have tried the chili and basil stir fry as well as the Pad Thai and green curry and would recommend all of these 100%. Wonderful service here, and the owner is also very kind and accommodating, which is an added bonus. If I lived in Ormond full time I would definitely frequent this place more, but I always make sure to stop by when I am in town to take advantage!! read more

I don't even know how to describe the food and the people at Thai Woodhouse. My family and my office order from them at least weekly, and NOT ONCE has a single bite not been the best. Every person I've ever sent there has raved about them, and have become lifelong fans. Every time I have guests from out of town, they are itching to go to Thai Woodhouse for the best Thai ever. They clearly cut their own fresh vegetables every day, and are so generous. The family and staff are so friendly, and always concerned about your satisfaction. This still doesn't seem to say enough about this little obscure plaza restaurant, but other than they're the best, what else is there to say ? We are now under COVID quarantine, but they are there for call in or online ordering and pick up, and it is just as delicious. GO THERE !!! read more

This is probably some of the best tai food I have ever had. I had a special today which was sauté grouper, and my friend had shrimp with vegetables. I also had the Tom Yum soup, and let me tell you it was to die for, Steve was our waiter and he made our evening. He knew the menu inside and out, and was personable knowledgeable, and very friendly. This was our second time here- Seated right away at 7pm on a Saturday evening. Initial service was outstanding. Ordered the Gyoza fried dumplings which were very good (chicken-based filling as opportunity the usual pork/beef) and the red and yellow curry. The curry was very good as well. Only issue with the food was their jasmine rice served with each entree- It was an ice cream scoop size. Clearly not enough to go with a bowl of curry. No big deal, we'll just both order some more (as we did the first time we ate there, without issue)- "Oh, that will be $2.00 extra"... Although a bit surprised, I agreed but, Really? When did that start? It wasn't until we got the bill when we realized it was $2.00 more EACH. I really can't fathom that- What did it cost them, .50? Why would you make money off not providing enough rice to begin with? Lame. It was around this time that the service tanked and we sat there for a long time waiting for drink refills and the check. Those two things cost them 2 stars. Again, very good food, but wasn't the best experience. Good thing we had a $5 coupon from a local mailer, or I really would have been ticked. read more

I had the Panang Curry with shrimp while my hubby ordered Pad Thai with shrimp. Both dishes were amazing! We also had ginger and cashew shrimp for an appetizer. Four days ago I was talking to some friends at the local tennis club about the food in NYC and Boston where I have spent the majority of my life enjoying food. Volusia County has been a disappointment. They both told me that the best, freshest, reasonably price food is at the Thai Woodhouse Restaurant. My husband and I went there last night. (I worked all day today and came home to find a note from my husband that he had gone back there for take out for dinner tonight!) When we arrived, we noticed the table next to us had beer. My husband asked what kind of beer they have. They don't have beer or wine...but you can bring in your own! They suggested the liquor store next door My husband went next door for a bottle of wine . They brought us two wine glasses and a cork screw. Are you kidding? You can drink as inexpensively as you can at home???? The food was AWESOME! I listened as every table was asked if their dinner was okay and I heard Yummm, Mmmmm, absolutely and I must admit, I was delighted. I have high expectations. My husband is an awesome cook so we go out infrequently because the food at home is better than the food we have out. FINALLY, we have a place to go where the food is fresh and delicious. Tried this Thai place for the first time after looking at their reviews. I ordered their vegetarian dish called Pad Woon Sen which has clear noodles, vegetables, egg (I added tofu) and it was delicious! Very close to the restaurant we had in Palm Coast called Thai by Thai. The tofu was a little on the crispy side which is the way I love it and the price was right. Great service right off the bat. We were greeted and felt welcome. The place was clean and not very busy (Monday 6:50pm). We ordered fried tofu appetizer, Spicy Basil Fried Rice, Basil and Chili Stir Fry with chicken, and Pad Tai with Shrimp. We had difficulty choosing the spicy level for the dishes because from experience, Thai restaurants are spicier than others. With the help of the server we settled on between 3-4 out of 5 level spiciness and it turned out Perfect. The entrees were delicious and my date and I highly recommend them. The fried rice was loaded with veggies and was our favorite. When i order it next time I will do the shrimp because it was the best protein we ordered. The tofu appetizer was average. Go with the sweet and sour peanut sauce over the other option. We will definitely be back for dine in and take out-- probably this week! read more
