It was a large portion and I'm a small eater so I brought plenty home. Put it in the fridge and went back about an hour later for more and it was even better cold. The rolls were wrapped a bit loose but I love that they grill the shrimp and also stuff mostly with lettuce instead of a ton of noodles so the rolls were more crisp than squish/starch. I got the panang curry medium and I think I could have gone a step up on heat but it was a nice mild burn that let the flavor of the sauce shine through. The veggies were crisp, the chicken tender, and I was happy with every bite. My father got the Lard Na 100 with crispy duck (a $10.50 upcharge but so worth it, so well cooked and crisp!) and loved it, just had no heat despite ordering it medium. I was impressed with the noodles - wide rice noodles but cooked firm so they didn't fall apart but had a delightful chew. The service was friendly, attentive, and super helpful with suggestions on heat level since we hadn't been before and didn't know if they pulled their punches (they don't, so start at a level below what you usually get elsewhere). The black bean pork rib tips were a bit underseasoned and the soup dumplings had only a few drops of soup and too thick skins BUT if you just think of them as ginger pork dumplings they're great. Brisket noodles soup was good but nothing outstanding. The pork belly was thick cut and perfectly cooked tender and fatty and while we assumed it would be chunks of taro it turned out to be minced into the sauce. Mostly sweet without much other nuance but adding a bit of the chili paste we asked for made it better. Only complaint is that after our final dish came out we never saw our waiter again. A younger waiter started working the floor which only had 3 other tables occupied. We had to flag him down for take out boxes and the check after sitting there for 10 minutes despite him having visited once to refill water when we were already done. We order far more than we should, they disappear instantly, and there's usually a friendly debate over who gets the last one. On the rare occasion there's an issue, they go out of their way to make it right because they truly want you to be happy. It's family-owned, deeply rooted in the community, and has been around for as long as we can remember. Several restaurants in NSB serve a good clam chowder but Boston's is my favorite. If you want to treat yourself get the bowl size serving but the cup size is a great starter choice. We visited twice during our one week stay. The first time I got fish and chips and the second time I got the 12 piece jumbo shrimp dinner with fries. Both times I chose the baked beans for a side. You can't go wrong with any choice but those beans are great. There's no way I can eat 12 shrimp so I always have the treat of a snack the next day. My husband got the blackened mahi mahi and said it was fantastic. The second time he also chose the 12 piece shrimp dinner but with coleslaw and onion rings! Take a look at the picture, the rings were terrific. I definitely prefer the thinner rings over the large ones that some places serve. Boston's is a must for visitors to NSB. The menu states that it's the best seafood in New Smyrna Beach and they certainly get my hearty recommendation.
