Soft, wide noodles coated in a thick, rich gravy that tastes deeply of soy and slight char. It's savory, gentle, and almost nostalgic- comfort food with serious depth. Ambiance- 5 stars - Well appointed, tasteful decor and soft ambient instrumental music. Service- 5 stars. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. They gave helpful advice for entrees. I was considering ordering the Pad Thai but the waitress mentioned their Pad Thai is on the sweet side so I decided not to order it as I know my personal preference for Pad Thai is savory. Food was served quickly! (It probably helped that it wasn't too busy for lunch.) They consistently refilled our drinks throughout lunch. Food- *****5 stars***** Lunch specials include an appetizer of soup and a vegetable spring roll. We enjoyed the crunchy spring roll and the savory broth of the vegetable soup. The crab rangoons had a subtle hint of curry which differentiates it from a standard crab rangoon. The crunchy mee krob had a lightly sweet flavor, not cloyingly sweet. I ordered the roasted duck red curry which featured well balanced flavors, complex spices from the curry, sweetness from the coconut milk and savory umami from what seems like a touch of fish sauce. If you prefer a crunchier roasted duck, you may want to order it with the duck on the side but I thought it was fine because the duck absorbed the flavors of the red curry. Our other entree was the sautéed ginger pork with vegetables which featured a savory light brown sauce. Also tasty! To start, I have only tried Thai Erawan for takeout, could be a whole different experience for dine-in. I got the pepper steak to start. The meal was good. Nothing further to say beyond that point. It's a place I would go if I want Thai food and that's the only spot around, it will satisfy your craving. It isn't the best Thai spot in town but it is up there. The steak was tender, but lacked a certain depth you expect from a dish like this. There were also burnt pieces of garlic that proved slightly unpleasant. Great ambience and delicious food with great flavors and generous portions. The crab Rangoon has no chunks of crab but has a slight curry flavor that is complementary to the sweet dipping sauce. The Thai iced tea is on point! I tried the Fancy Duck which was delicious and everyone else enjoyed their choices as well (shrimp with noodles in a brown sauce) . Our server was helpful and attentive. I love the atmosphere. The booths are generous in size but a little low. I don't find them comfortable to sit in even for a short dinner. We got, stuffed chicken wings, soup, salad, pad Thai, and Pad se ew. My chicken pad Thai was so dry the noodles stuck together and it was impossible to eat. The chicken was as dry as leather. We found Thai Erawan almost by accident. My partner and I are always up for good Thai cousine. Ormond Beach and the surrounding areas are full of Thai resturants but this place is heads above the rest in this area. Some folks mentioned the authentic decor and it is quite nice, but it's the food that gets us back. They offer a very good lunchean menu with most dishes under $11 which also includes soup and an egg roll. We always start off with the Mussels Basil which are sensational. You really can't go wrong with anything here. I like it spicy and she is less inclined to go for the hot but they really hear you when you order which in some places doesn't happen. Wonton filling had a bit of a curry taste to it, but the Rangoon was the "normal" cream cheese filling. We also had Panang Curry and the Pad Thai. Both were good. The wait staff was attentive, but we came on a Saturday at 2, so there was only one other couple there. Overall, the food was good, but nothing stood out from other places we have tried. I have not given many bad reviews. That is until tonight. First...they are not busy. What set the tone was a local came in after us and was taken care of with drinks and their order taken before we even got a waitress. I stopped their waitress and asked if we could get menus and she said our waitress was busy and she will get to us soon. (We should have left then.) We ordered an appetizer and main course. It was half an hour before we got our appetizer. Then, we got it without silverware or napkins. Three min later, we got our food. When I questioned the server she said they had a lot of carry out orders. (That did not stop the locals from getting their food fast.) With all that said, the food was hot and good. My husband and I ate dinner here on a Saturday night around 7 pm. It was not busy and we were seated right away. We were greeted by a nice waitress who took our drink order and then returned a few minutes later to take our dinner order. We ordered the crab Rangoon for an appetizer and then I ordered the pad Thai and my husband ordered the peppered beef. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated and the bathroom was also clean. Our waitress came over to apologize about our food taking awhile because of take out orders, but it really wasn't that long of a wait. We weren't in a rush and the Rangoons held us over till our meals arrived. Our food was good! I wish I would've got mine with a little spice but I was unsure with how spicy it would be but mine definitely could've used some spice! However, the pad Thai was yummy and the shrimp were a decent size. My husbands was also not spicy at all and he did ask for mild spice. His was very good, seemed light and fresh! I was so excited when I went into the restaurant as the atmosphere is very nice and the decor is beautiful. Thai Erawan is in a strip mall close to the beach and I give it five stars for atmosphere and decor. Alas the real measure of a restaurant is it food and here Thai Erawan falls very short. I got the red curry hot and Tom Khai Gai. The red curry sauce has a nice taste but the sauce was sparse. The chicken had a good taste too but once again was not sufficient in quantity. I thought pumpkin had been added to the red curry but it was pineapple. I never had pineapple in curry and the taste in red curry was not very good as the sweetest of the pineapple took away from the hot taste that I was wanting. The red curry was mild. The red curry had a hodgepodge of ingredients that did not compliment the red curry. I am use to red curry having chicken, bamboo shoots and occasionally pumpkin. This red curry was more like a stir fry not a red curry. The Tom Khai Gai was much better and was good. I enjoyed the Tom Khai Gai and give it 4 stars. Service was slow even though the restaurant was not crowded. I recommend against the curry unless your taste goes to what I have described. I would go back. read more

We stopped in on Mothers Day at night, because we had just arrived in Ormond Beach and were looking for somewhere we could get in. So glad we made this choice! I think we got there right before they closed (Sunday hours weren't posted), but everyone was so gracious. We had spring rolls, beef massaman curry, and pad see ew with chicken.
