New Year's Eve I ordered Erowan's seafood dinner with peanut sauce, and it was excellent. Reasonably priced, on-time and very tasty. I decided to go back for lunch today, and they had a soft shell crab special, which was fabulous. Very hard to find fresh soft shell crab this early in the year, as most places serve only previously frozen soft shell which is mushy and I won't order. I was truly presently surprised. So my galfriend, Miss Sheri and I decided to try this place. The reviews were mainly good so... Nice atmoshere. Server kept rushing us on ordering, with very few people there, Why? We ordered our app., the dumplings, she kept coming back asking if we were ready to order. Then we ordered the "salad", looked at it and said~ yuk, sent it back. Then we ordered soup, again kept coming back asking the same. Nothing like responding to someone while slurping soup, did not finish the soup. Then, probably to silence the repetiveness, ordered the entree. Did not finish it, did not ask to take leftovers to go, we ALWAYS take leftovers home! My husband asked that I bring him home some dumplings and rangoons...we actually went to Woodhouse across the bridge to order take out from them!!! We had a devine meal there a month or so ago!!! We came here for lunch one day, having seen it next to Walgreens. There was no wait and our server seated us quickly. He was super nice and ran through the gist of the menu. We had the chicken satay and the Thai Iced Tea were both comparable to other places. The curries available at lunch both included a roll and a soup, which was a pleasant surprise. Both broth-based, the veggie one was relatively plain, and the chicken one included rice and my boyfriend thought the flavor was amazing. We think it may have just had a lot of garlic in it! Always a good thing. I thought his Panang Curry was lacking flavor, but he liked it. My Massaman Curry I thought was better-mostly sweet, no heat. Came on a Saturday night with my family on a whim while visiting my mom. Lek was our waitress and was amazing! She was funny and attentive and gave us great service. Thai Erawan is mediocre Thai restaurant in a mediocre town. The decor is nice enough, but waitresses are a little rude and completely inattentive. I started with the Thai Sweet Iced Tea, which was so sweet that I took one sip and made a sour face that freaked out my waitress (I find it's always good to freak out the servers once in a while). She brought me a coke. For the entree, I had Pad Thai with Beef. I'm a pad junkie, in fact I would easily eat it every night for the rest of my life if it didn't make my ass the size of a couch. The Pad Thai here was too sweet and the flavor was off-putting. My friend had Peppered Beef, and the quality was pretty equal to Chinese takeout. The shining star here was the Coconut Ice Cream. My friend ordered it and paid for it, and I ate a significant portion because that's what friends are for. It was creamy and wonderful and orgasmic. If you like mediocre, oddly seasoned food, you have one of two choices: Thai Erawan or a Chinese buffet. I think your wallet knows which decision you should be making. read more

This tranquil restaurant tucked in Granada Plaza is a surprising little oasis. From the welcoming fountain and dark wood furnishings to the warm and attentive service, dining at Thai Erawan is thoroughly relaxing. During a recent visit we ordered Beef Hot Pepper, tender slices of beef sautéed in chili paste with bell pepper, onion and basil leaves. At "American hot" (as opposed to Thai hot) the dish had an enjoyable heat. We also sampled a relatively new Seafood-Noodle Soup: a sizable entrée served with a salad. First about the salad: A crispy iceberg wedge with peanut dressing. In our experience peanut dressing can be wildly inconsistent, so much so we feel we're rolling the dice whenever we order it. But that day, at Thai Erawan, we were rewarded for our bravery with a version that was incredibly silky and, dare we say, perfectly balanced. Unfortunately the soup didn't follow suit. While we enjoyed the noodles and flavorful broth, the seafood (shrimp, calamari and scallops) was flavorless and a bit tough. We found the seafood to be of similar quality during a previous visit so in the future we'll stick with land roaming or vegetarian options. I ate here on a Sunday evening with my family. We had Crab Rangoons as an appetizer. They were light and the filling was creamy and had a bit of scallions in it. For the main dish I had the Shrimp Curry. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of shrimp that was served. They didn't have tails - I appreciated that! We came here for lunch. I was excited by the ambience- it seems authentic. I ordered pad see ew with chicken-medium spice. It came with a soup and spring roll. Spring roll was fresh and well fried. I had a choice between chicken soup or cabbage soup. I picked chicken soup. It tasted okay but there was barely any chicken crumbles in but rice. I didn't get the idea of putting rice in the soup. As an appetizer, we also ordered dumplings. They were more like store bought dim sum. I was not too impressed. Thai iced tea was good. Main dishes took longer to arrive. Service was slow overall. I liked my pad see ew. Noodles were cooked perfect. I wish they put more brocolli but it was yummy. My friend ordered panang curry with tofu. He thought portion was too small. Veggies were cut too big. Overall we have mixed feelings about this restaurant but still it was a decent choice for thai cuisine in Daytona Beach. read more

We drove 30 miles to go to this restaurant. It is a beautiful restaurant and the food is always very good. We were seated immediately and all was going well. We received our drinks and our waitress didn't come back regardless of our empty drinks. She only filled our drinks when she was delivering our food. She never came back to check on us, see how the food, was or if we needed anything. After we finished our meal, she let us sit for 15 minutes waiting for our check. Other waitresses noticed but didn't say or do anything. The other waitresses seemed to be very attentive to their tables. If you want great food this restaurant is great. If you want great service, it is not the restaurant for you. read more

This place is awesome! We went to try out their lunch and it was delicious! We ordered the vegetable soup, the ingredients were very fresh, taste was "YUMMY"! Even the cabbage soup was great! Very impressed for a first time Thai food eater. I normally don't like soups but these were sweet from the veggies and made perfect! One of their special lunch was salmon, shrimp, bell peppers, coconut milk, onion topped with some red curry.(forgot what it was called) it wasn't spicy at all for those who are "spice sensitive" people. You can add more to the dish with their spices if you want but, you can get your dish mild, medium or spicy as you want it to be. You can taste the difference of having your seafood and vegetables fresh when you eat them. Your soup is made specially just for you! Never made previously and left out... If you know what I mean. Never have I been to a restaurant that did that before. They always make a big pot of soup and that would be the "soup of the day". Here, they make the soup as they go FRESH! and you can absolutely tell the difference. We LOVED every single bite of everything we ordered. We even bought their "Rice Berry" FDA approved premium rice. I rate this place 10 out of 10! Not just for taste, but also for the freshest ingredients. Definitely worth coming back to. A healthy alternative of eating out. This is my first ever review on a restaurant. I normally don't comment cuz I don't have all good things to say. I just had to share this to everyone. Ordered 2 noodle dishes for takeout, added mixed veggies and egg to one and got extra noodle for mine. Over the phone was told nothing of upcharges even though I expected about a dollar or so for each. My meal doubled in price when I got there and told $36 for my total which is ridiculous. Now I probably would of dealt with this loss but the food was bland and didn't even appear to have extra vegetables, and my girlfriends noodles were mushy and overcooked. Chicken panang curry was inedible. The curry was the consistency of water. Carrots and bell peppers were so soft I could squish them with my fingers. Curry was so watery it didn't even stick to the chicken or veggies. The flavor wasn't even right. Way over priced to be that wrong. Forced myself to take a few bites and just threw out the rest. Usually come here with a party of 4 or more. We like to order family style and share the dishes. We always have at least one vegetarian in the group but are able to find options for everyone. The spring rolls are a good way to start since they are not too filling. Also, for starters I really enjoy the vegetable coconut soup. It has a bit of a kick to it. You can add your choice of meat to the pad thai, or any of the curries. I find the red curry to be very tasty. My only suggestion is to pace yourself as you eat.
