Salt and Pepper Shell on Jumbo Shrimp
Denise M.

Alice was great and provided excellent recommendations. Loved the jumbo garlic shrimp. Wasn't a fan of their tea. They used tea bags. Wished they used loose leaf tea. Wasn't a big fan of their fried dumplings. Would have liked them steamed instead. Their fried rice is very good. Sign up for their rewards.

Lunchtime!

Great service by the woman (who appeared to be one of the owners) and the food seemed to be being cooked by the other owner who is her husband. We based this assumption of who is who on their "story" on the menu. So, the woman was efficiently and very friendly in caring for each and every table on our Sunday lunch visit. We came in hungry and we're promptly greeted and seated. The server brought us a little bowl of wontons and a sauce for dipping while we looked over the menu. The wontons were great as we came in hungry and ready to eat! We started with a Summer Roll that was stuffed with veggies and shrimp and served with a peanut sauce. For our entrees were ordered Pad Thai, Panang Chicken and Bibimbop. Everything came out piping hot. The menu is broken down into Thai, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Curry, Hibachi... Ordinarily that would be a bit extensive for a menu but they keep the selections in each category smaller so that helps to make the choices easier and preparation and serving more efficient. Overall we were pleased with the food and service.

Hot Pot Chicken with Shiitake Mushroom

We enjoyed great authentic Chinese food today and are definitely going back soon to try other Asian cuisines! We really liked the Peking Duck and the Hot Pot with chicken, tofu & shiitake mushrooms. Our server, Alice, was delightful. Parking was easy. Overall, we highly recommend it!

The atmosphere was pleasant. The server was very nice, the food came fast. I had a soup bowl with dumplings, vegetables, chicken and shrimp that I enjoyed.

Lo Mein Side Order

Honestly this is some of the best Chinese food I've had in a while!! Everything was so fresh! Service was welcoming, helpful, and prompt. The tofu was fried perfectly, loved all the veggies in the side portion of the lo mein, and the spring rolls were delicious! I will definitely be back the next time I am in Daytona!

Hot Pot Hong Shao Pork Belly

I didn't think I would find authentic Chinese dishes outside of Orlando but here we are! Because their menu spans all the most common Asian cuisines - Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese - we decided to assess from a few angles. We started with Thailand and a bowl of Tom kha (coconut lemongrass soup) which while the broth was a tad sweet for me and I was missing the lemongrass and lime leaf, they did excellent with the seafood, adding it just at the end so it was still tender. The chicken satay were perfectly cooked with crispy edges and moist inside, only critique was they put the delicious peanut sauce on top rather than allowing us to dip as we want. My father tried the sizzling plate with pork intestines and while he usually prefers them fried and crispy these were pillowy soft and tender with an addictive spicy sauce. I opted for the hot pot pork belly which came in big meaty chunks with lightly steamed bok choy that retained its crunch and simmered shiitake, bamboo shoots and whole water chestnuts in a sort of five spice sauce. Delicious and comforting. Decor is a bit strange, abstract pictures on the walls, a tin siding bar area that looks more at home in a lakeside backyard than a restaurant, but it was comfortable. Service was great considering I only ever saw one guy doing the whole floor (there was only one party when we got there because it was quite early). Definitely want to come back for other cuisines!

The restaurant is small and the decor is what I'd call cozy chaotic - lots of beautiful Thai shrines and figures, but then funky Christmas lights strung over whimsical photos. Don't let the "Reserved" tags on every table cause you concern, we and every party that came in after us were assured we could sit anywhere. We started with the Som Tam papaya salad at a medium and it had a perfect kick with the sour-sweet-funk punch of lime, fish sauce, rock sugar, probably some tamarind? It was fresh, cool and crunchy and a refreshing start to the meal. I had to try the Summer Breeze Rolls because I was actually first introduced to this restaurant by their stalls set up at various local farmers markets and the peanut sauce is out of this world, perfectly sweet and salty and a little curry spice kick as well. The rolls were wrapped a bit loose but I love that they grill the shrimp and also stuff mostly with lettuce instead of a ton of noodles so the rolls were more crisp than squish/starch. I got the panang curry medium and I think I could have gone a step up on heat but it was a nice mild burn that let the flavor of the sauce shine through. The veggies were crisp, the chicken tender, and I was happy with every bite. My father got the Lard Na 100 with crispy duck (a $10.50 upcharge but so worth it, so well cooked and crisp!) and loved it, just had no heat despite ordering it medium. I was impressed with the noodles - wide rice noodles but cooked firm so they didn't fall apart but had a delightful chew. The service was friendly, attentive, and super helpful with suggestions on heat level since we hadn't been before and didn't know if they pulled their punches (they don't, so start at a level below what you usually get elsewhere). We're now on a quest to eat our way through the menu!

Tonight we had the "winter pockets" (crab rangoon) and chicken pad Thai. The pockets were a lot smaller than they were a few months ago. Taste was good. Probably wouldn't order them again. Chicken pad Thai did not have peanuts or bean sprouts ?? This seemed odd to us. It was not the best pad Thai we have ever had. It wasn't the worst either. I ordered medium spicy and the food as not spicy at all. Overall, we were disappointed. Next time we will probably try a different restaurant.

I've traveled to places like New York, Orlando, Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit to find some of the best Thai food, so I wasn't expecting to discover such a gem in Port Orange. I stopped into a small family-owned Thai restaurant and ordered one of my favorite dishes, Pad Prik King with beef, along with sticky rice and ice cream for dessert. From the very first bite, I was impressed. Their version of the Prik King was different from what I'm used to, featuring an extra ingredient that elevated the dish and made it absolutely phenomenal. I requested it moderately spicy, and they delivered a perfect level of heat--bold, flavorful, and authentic without overpowering the dish. The freshness of the string beans, the tenderness of the beef, and the rich, unique sauce all stood out. Every ingredient tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Then came dessert. Their homemade sticky rice served with ice cream completely exceeded my expectations. It was easily one of the best sticky rice desserts I've had, and I've visited a lot of Thai restaurants over the years. What made the experience even better was the warm hospitality. The waitress was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the entire meal feel like you were dining in someone's home rather than a restaurant. If you're a fan of authentic Thai food and want to support a great mom-and-pop business, I highly recommend checking this place out. It was a wonderful surprise and a meal I won't soon forget.

Our favorites were the roast bbq pork buns (baked char siu bao), lotus leaf wrapped rice (lo mai gai), and the chewy fried dimsum (ham sui gok). And the radish cake with XO sauce! Good spice level. Service is friendly and prompt. The tasteful interior is nicely lit, not too bright. There is bar seating but most sit in one of the many booths, and there are bigger tables for large groups. I almost can't believe dimsum this tasty exists in Port Orange. We're excited to go back and try the roast duck!

I got the beef brisket noodle soup and my father got the braised pork belly and taro. Stand out favorites were the baked pork buns and sesame balls, both perfectly cooked and filled. The siu mai were available as shrimp, pork, or beef - we got shrimp and yes it was nice shrimp but I prefer the shrimp/pork mixture. Seafood dumplings were good as was the eggplant. The black bean pork rib tips were a bit underseasoned and the soup dumplings had only a few drops of soup and too thick skins BUT if you just think of them as ginger pork dumplings they're great. Brisket noodles soup was good but nothing outstanding. The pork belly was thick cut and perfectly cooked tender and fatty and while we assumed it would be chunks of taro it turned out to be minced into the sauce. Mostly sweet without much other nuance but adding a bit of the chili paste we asked for made it better. Only complaint is that after our final dish came out we never saw our waiter again. A younger waiter started working the floor which only had 3 other tables occupied. We had to flag him down for take out boxes and the check after sitting there for 10 minutes despite him having visited once to refill water when we were already done. If I'm craving dim sum and had to be in the area I'd go again but I'll still be going to Orlando to really scratch that dim sum itch.

This is different, this is the real deal. You look at their menu and know it's legit at once--then there are the desserts which are also legit and remarkably so--very welcome. My bun bowl with skewered grilled pork and spring roll was absolutely perfect. Like, it seriously could not have been any better. Adrian, my waiter, was also excellent. My only critique--and it may seem a petty one--is the music was banal, trite, American and British pop hits from the early 2000s. There is so much good Viet pop and other Asian music--K-pop if nothing else--they could play, so why this? I don't want to hear the same music Kohl's plays at a restaurant so magical and delicious. But aside from the bad choice of tunes, this is a gem in full.
