I must be a glutton for punishment. I keep going back when I stop back in town thinking that this restaurant would've gotten better. When I got my food home, I was first disappointed with the portion sizes. It's almost like child size portions for adult size prices which are overpriced for this area. I think people end up going to this restaurant because it's in a prime location since there's not much else around here, especially next to Plantation Bay and I must add that the taste was just bland. Nothing special I ordered mango sticky rice, which I absolutely love and I am not kidding you when I tell you that I only had 2 tablespoons of black rice in this huge container my comments may not mean much to the owners because I see other comments like this, but they've lost my business, which overtime would've added up to a lot of money for them. I will make the extra trip to Palm Coast next time fix on Thai food. What a shame but I would never recommend this restaurant and if I could give it zero stars, I would. read more

Came for lunch on Monday and OMG! Best tasting Thai iced tea I ever had that I got some to go for the first time. The Tom Yum soup broth was so flavorful and helped my allergies so perfectly. Very flavorful curry as well! The presentation, decor and service were all perfect! Just loved this choice I decided to try while on vacation and look forward to coming back. Our friends who just moved to Halifax Plantation 2 weeks ago near this Thai restaurant. They had dined at Thai Elephant once before we went to visit, saying it was amazing and wanted the 4 of us to go to this restaurant.. We went on a Saturday night at 6pm and only people in the restaurant the whole time but plenty of people picking up take out I ordered the Chicken Green curry medium spice and my spouse Chicken Panang medium spice.. We both thought the curries too watery, lacking so much true Thai spice, very few herbs and flavors. We tried each other's dishes and agreed.. Yes there was plenty of vegetables but VERY STRANGE to use Bok Choy in panang curry as that is used primarily in chinese dishes.. And yes I do know authentic Thai cooking as my Aunt was from Thailand and grew up down the street from her since age 12.. Owner was friendly, service good and food served hot.. But not sure we will want to go back there to dine unfortunately.. read more

Everything could be improved. The DoorDash or had to wait over 30+ minutes and their staff was rude to him. Then the food is far from authentic Thai. When we called to speak to the restaurant, they were rude and unfortunately, they called their delivery menu website service company while leaving me where I could hear what they were saying and lied several times as they were reporting said issues I would say avoid this restaurant at all cost if you are an authentic Thai connoisseur consumer. This is not Thai food at its best. This is as if you were ordering from a chain restaurant and that is being nice like a panda express for Thai food avoid avoid avoid. This is a great Thai restaurant just off I-95 in the Halifax Publix's shopping center. The restaurant is run by a couple who owned and operated a Thai restaurant in NY for years. The husband does all the cooking in the back while his wife works the front of the house and waits on all the tables. It's a small, comfortable place with six or so tables indoors and one or two outdoor. The restaurant features all the traditional Thai delicacies that you'd expect and everything is prepared fresh to order according to your level of spice/heat preference - mild, medium, hot & Thai hot. They have a great lunch menu that includes a small house salad, bowl of homemade soup and entree for around $15, but everything on their menu is reasonably priced so worth trying for lunch or dinner. We particularly enjoy their green, red and Massaman curries, as well as their stir fried and Thai noodle dishes. If you're craving Thai you owe it to yourself to try Thai Elephant. read more

Tried this place for the first time an was loved it. My husband had the chicken satay and I had the pad Thai and they were both very good. Also had the cucumber salad and the flavor was spot on. Now here we go again - you get what you pay for - so don't expect this to be a "bargain" meal place unless you expect the bargain to be Thai food done right! If eating in - they have had some turnover with waitstaff so that makes the dine-in "experience" less than optimal - but I am sure that will get back to normal real soon. This is a brand new restaurant that offers authentic Thai cuisine with good quality ingredients. Seating is limited, though they offer take out. I ordered the cashew nut chicken lunch special, which was a pretty good serving. The sauce was a bit sweeter than I prefer, but came out hot. Staff seems to be limited due to COVID and we did have to wait about 20 minutes for lunch with only 4/6 tables seated. Id definitely come back and try the Pad Thai or Pad See Ew. read more

The food is hot and spicy like we like it, price is ok for authentic thai food carry out too. its worth a try for sure, and located close to home for us . we try to order at least once a week and I like it thai spicy thats as hot as it gets I guess. she does the pad se you with shrimp, I do the shrimp rolls and the pineapple fried rice with shrimp. be careful with the shrimp dishes, they leave the tails on the shrimp in these dishes and I have been cut up pretty bad by them. I pick them out of our meals and pull the tails off. there is only 7 shrimp pr meal, so we have found it easier to shuck the tail and throw the shrimps back into the meal, but what a mess. read more

I have eaten here before and always come back when I am in this part of the country, which is usually during Daytona Bike Week. I usually get Cashew Nut with Chicken in Thai Hot level of spicy. We had an early dinner at Thai Elephant today and ordered a variety of dishes. The food was all very good, and everyone was happy. The real highlight of our meal was the server, Nicole. We were so impressed with her. She was the only server - taking all of the table orders, serving the food, bussing the dishes, answering the phone, and handling the carryout orders. She was doing the work of at least two people (I don't know if they were understaffed or if she always has such a large workload), but she remained helpful, smiling, and competent. Many restaurants serve good food, but only a few have truly excellent, friendly employees, and it's the service that helps us to decide whether or not to go back to a place. In spite of the many tasks she had to perform, Nicole provided us with a lovely meal, and we will return to Thai Elephant again. read more

We've just moved to the area. While driving around we found the Thai Elephant. We love Thai food and the Thai Elephant does not disappoint. It is a small restaurant, probably 10 tables at most, but the food is excellent. We started with the Pork Spring rolls. They were fabulous, nice crunchy exterior and delicious. I had the Pad Thai with chicken (extra spicy), which was probably the best Pad Thai I have had in a while. My wife had the Thai Cashew Nut with chicken and she loved it. Nicole was the server and she was the best. She was attentive, funny and friendly. She alone is worth a trip back. If you love Thai, then this is the place. A classic noodle done right. Crisp sprouts, juicy lime, stuffed with all the essentials (noodles, shredded noodles, onions, and peanuts). There's about a million options available between the menu board and wall full of specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong.
