Thai & I - Bunnell Ella--our daughter--has been craving Thai, so we made our way back to one of our go-to spots. She ordered the Thai Noodle Soup (pork), and she calls this her comfort food--her version of chicken noodle soup. When our family is sick, we crave chicken noodle... this is that for her. My husband and I always say we're going to try something new... and then we panic and order our usual favorites because we don't want to miss what we already know we love For him: Massaman Curry (chicken) + rice For me: Pad Thai (chicken tonight, but I've had it with shrimp before and loved that too) I'm a wimp when it comes to spice, so here's a little hack--order it low (I got a level 1 ) and then use the chili oil they can bring to the table to build your own heat. Total game changer. Service was a little behind tonight--it took a bit to get our drinks (just water and tea), but since we knew what we wanted, we ordered everything at once. Once the food hit the table, it came out fast, hot, and delicious. Staff is always friendly, and they handled a full house--multiple larger parties (8-12 people) plus all the regular tables--so it was definitely a busy night. Drinks took a minute, but everything else--from the food to the friendliness--more than made up for it. Atmosphere is casual--shorts, jeans, and business casual from people coming off work. We were seated immediately, and they have a good mix of booths and tables to accommodate different group sizes. Portions are solid. We all left with leftovers (which isn't always the case for us). Our daughter basically only had broth left because she loved it that much--she's already planning round two tomorrow by adding noodles and protein. On a normal night, we'd finish everything and be completely full, but tonight we stopped at satisfied instead of stuffed. Pricing: about $16-$17 per plate Appetizer must-order: scallion pancakes. You don't know what you're missing until you try them. We could easily eat 50... but you get about 8 Location is just off US1 in Bunnell--an unassuming building with a gem inside. My husband and I decided to try out Thai and I tonight (my husband loves drunken noodles, the only Thai restaurant I found that has it). Service was excellent, our server took our order which was a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon wine, my husband ordered his chicken drunken noodles with a spicy level of 4, I ordered Pad Thai with chicken. My husband really enjoyed his meal and said the spice level of 4 was the perfect spice level. My pad Thai was really good unfortunately I can't eat a lot and our server was worried something was wrong since I ate so little. I explained it's was great but can't eat much at a time. Trust me if I didn't like it I would not have taken it home in a to go bag. The inside was great, they give you a choice of booth, table or intimate little table. Our waitress (with the blue hair) was so sweet and very attentive. We loved the atmosphere, it was so calming. Now THIS is authentic Thai cuisine. My husband and I felt so good after eating our dinner. It made our tummies feel warm and nourished. Wonderful prices too! So many Thai restaurants are overpriced and don't taste as good. The food here is absolutely ridiculously good. Every time I come here I wonder why I don't come more often. You can taste the quality. I have never had a meal I didn't thoroughly enjoy and it's highly recommend. Don't let the seedy motel it shares a parking lot with deter you. Seriously. Decided to stop an try the new place. We had been to this location before but previously, it was a Mexican restaurant. So decided to try the new Thai restaurant. So glad we did. The food was good. The service was great and the restaurant was nice and clean. we tried the appetizers which was chicken sauté and eggrolls. Both were very good. I love the Thai tea there. It is my favorite. We also had pad Thai, but I didn't actually get pictures of that and it was good as well. They have great menus selections and the prices are good. I felt like Thai food and found this place via maps and yelp so decided to give it a try. I had the Chicken Satay and Pad Thai. Both were delicious. Pad Thai is my go to comparison dish when I try a new Thai place. The Pad Thai was on the sweet side but I like it that way so I was very happy with my meal. We hopped up to Bunnell on a Thursday night after my husband got off work. Thai and I satisfied his Thai tooth and the service was great. The beer on tap was cold and fresh. This place used to be Mexican and they just updated the wall hangings. (I don't know if they changed the kitchen). You could tell. Although the place is relatively clean it could really benefit from a coat of paint and freshened tables and chairs. This place was impressively busy for a weekday early dinner. That's probably because of the food and service. We got papaya salad, shrimp in red curry, chicken in green curry and a noodle dish. The papaya salad was recommended by other reviewers so I was sure to try it. It was great! The curries were good. They came with rice. The sauce on the curries was thin. I like a little more coconut milk or other element to thicken the sauce so that it clings to the rice better. We got everything medium spicy and it was just right. The noodles were skinny like Singapore noodles. They were a bit spicier than the other items. The noodles were good, a dish we had not tried at other places. The food here is good. If I had to rate Thai and I based on the Papaya Salad alone, I would give it 5. Unfortunately, the other dishes we ordered were no comparison to the Papaya Salad. I was actually in shock, because some items I would guess were made by different chefs, at different restaurants! Which would lead to think the head chef needs to supervise what's leaving the kitchen. For starters, we got the veggie sampler. It had 4 little spring rolls, veggie tofu, scallion pancake and nice sauces to accompany it. It was good. The Pad Thai should not be so sweet that I literally taste the overwhelming flavor of sugar. This was a disappointment, especially considering the price and lack of protein. There were 6 very small shrimp. Ordered 2 phos, only brought 1. I should've checked my receipt to see if I was charged. They were sweet too, sooo sad. The flavor was good, but this place should really lay off the sugar. Im not trying to get diabetes. Lol! Ordered the seafood curry as well, thai hot and she looked at me like I was crazy, but had also ordered a shrimp salad 3 hot level out of 5 and it was sweet too! So I figured let me try the heat! We ordered our food to go. The staff at the counter were very nice. Place is clean. I ordered the Vegetarian Sampler from the appetizer menu since there is not a lot of thai restaurants that offer this appetizer. It has veggie spring rolls, fried tofu and scallion pancakes with 2 different sauces. That was a very filling lunch. My co workers had a variety of fried rice. I was able to taste the basil fried rice with level 1 heat. That was delicious. If I am in the area again, I will definitely get some Thai food again. read more

I've now been here 4 times... and I'll admit - my wife and I have ordered the same thing each time, Massaman Curry with chicken and chicken Pad Thai. Clearly we like them. We brought our kids this last time and they ventured a little further out. My son ordered the drunken noodles with pork. The veggies were fresh, the pork was delicious, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Gotta say I was a tad envious. My daughter ordered the house fried rice. It comes with chicken and shrimp. Before you say ... "boring, fried rice" - I'll tell you it was really good. I even contemplated ordering another to take home for lunch the next day. Fortunately, I ended up not having to because her portion was so large I just stole her leftovers. We had been hearing people talk about Thai and I for a while and we were finally able to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We got the Thai and I sampler which was a great way to try the different rolls they had. Everything was tasty. My boyfriend got the pad Thai for his entree and he loved it! He has tried several pad Thais in the area and was beginning to think there just wasn't a good one around until he got the one from here. Said it was exactly what he'd been looking for! I got the Pad Won Sen with pork and it was sooo good! Sweet and savory in the best way. The restaurant was clean and inviting. The staff was very friendly. The food came out quickly and hot. It's edible Thai food if you're not picky. I tried a few dishes and I was just not getting excited about anything. They have Khao Soi which is a northern Thai noodle curry dish. Mine tasted like it was seasoned with powdered chicken. Could've used more coconut milk and more curry. Green curry was bland and thin. Could be better. Pad Thai was alright. Service was good and the place was clean. A few customers came in and it got so loud I couldn't hear the person next to me. There isn't any sound dampening tiles or carpet, so its loud. The restaurant had music playing and that made it worse. So for Bunnell it's probaly exotic and new. For me it's just another halfway there Thai place. At least they don't serve sushi. read more

As soon as I walked in I noticed the Celtics flag and the spicy level warning sign. Knew this was going to be an excellent spot. Ordered the Seafood Curry and it was tasty. The Seafood Curry menu description listed shrimp, calamari, and scallops. I'm not sure what the other fish was, maybe it was crab? Either way it wasn't listed on the menu. Still tasted good. We had a chat with the owner Seng after we finished dinner about the Celtics! The Celtics went on to win the championship the next day. Warning the food is spicy, if you can't handle the spice don't order it. If you enjoy heat like myself, you will enjoy this spot. read more

Food should never come out of the kitchen smelling like fecal matter. If I could leave zero stars, I would. We were a medium party of 8 and made reservations for 7:30 PM on 6/1 (aka, staff were aware that we were coming in). This was a family event, and my MIL was very excited to support a new, local business. The service was great up until a certain point. The appetizers we ordered were fine, but every main course dish we ordered had some sort of issue (overdone duck, savory dishes too sweet, the crispy duck dish had pieces that were too hard to consume, etc. - most of the party couldn't finish their meals). However, there was one dish in particular that was very, very bad. Our youngest party member ordered the Pad Thai - a dish that she's enjoyed at other establishments, no problem. This dish came out smelling like a chicken coop. She said it didn't taste right and most of the table tried it, only to confirm it really did not taste right. We alerted staff - The first person seemed confused as to what the problem was, so I let her know that it didn't smell right or taste good, we weren''t eating it, and we needed it taken off of the bill. Our main server came out to see what was happening, she apologized profusely, and took the plate away. We then ordered another item off the menu to replace it. Then the OWNER came out and said she could only offer us 50% off of the dish (about $6). She then tried to explain that it was traditionally prepared, and the offending ingredient must be the vinegar. Having personally grown up in the SF Bay Area, I have had the privilege of experiencing a plethora of cultures and traditional meals. This was nothing like any meal I have ever had - I'm not sure if it's a regional traditionally prepared meal, but if something is not edible or enjoyable for a patron, it is typically taken off the bill without an issue. This is completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and absolutely unbelievable. One party member let the owner know that not only were we a large party, but we also were spending a decent amount of money. At this point, the owner consented to taking it off the bill. She then quickly left without making sure we were comfortable. This was a terrible first-time experience. We will NOT be returning and not recommending it to any other family and friends. Another issue we had was that we were not alerted prior to the kitchen closing - We were informed after the fact, when we were trying to order more food to help make up for the dishes our party members couldn't finish. I was also really looking forward to trying the mango sticky rice dessert (it's one of my favorites), but we didn't even get the chance. :( (Savannah - This review is absolutely not a review on your service.
