We decided to get Chinese takeout delivered. We ordered from China Cafe, I ordered chicken lo mein and my husband ordered Szechuan chicken extra spicy with white rice. Our food was delivered on time and my chicken lo mein was very good, chicken was very tender. My husband liked his Szechuan chicken but could have been a lot spicier. He added spice we had at home to it. The food could have been packaged better, instead of the plastic containers they usually put the food in they used styrofoam containers that didn't seal and juices/sauces from the Szechuan chicken leaked into the chicken lo mein. Service would be better if they switch back to other containers. Our atmosphere was beautiful, looking at the ocean. read more

Ordered sweet & sour pork dinner. Egg roll was good, fried rice ok, but the pork was horrible. I believe that they refried them because the coating was hard, not crisp - HARD. I peeled the coating off each piece. Some pieces were okay, but most of them were also hard. Very disappointed. I've ordered from them in the past and never had a problem, obviously they have a new cook. I don't think I'll be ordering from them again. read more

Food needs to be more flavorful too bland the hot sour soup has no spice whatsoever. Service is fear but the food seasoning and taste has to be improved. I had the General Tso chicken, hot and sour soup and Kam pao chicken neither had any flavor. read more

Hands Down-The most legit hot mustard!! I added in my dishes for extra spice! I ESPECIALLY enjoyed the mei fun w/shrimp!!! The Szechuan shrimp was excellent and the shrimp were large in this dish. Both dishes were large enough to share. My favorite was the mixed vegetables. I requested snow peas and broccoli ever and this was hands down how I'll always order my veggies! I usually use the electronic menu at counter to order. Today the manager who barely spoke english requested to take order. I was very clear I wanted chicken & noodles on one order and shrimp with noodles on the other as a carryout. I get home and there is no noodles but friend rice. As fast food Chinese restaurants go, China Cafe has been relatively good but something has changed and the quality of the food has deteriorated. We generally order the same dishes so the comparison between orders is fair. In particular, the General Tao's Chicken was awful. While the order size is consistently generous, the chicken was bits of grizzle and fat. The orange beef was tiny bits of over breaded meat. The Singapore Mei Fun, my favorite, was tasteless. With all the new residences being built in the area, I would expect the quality to improve but that does not seem to be the case. read more

The food and service is outstanding!! We ate lunch in the restaurant and they brought out our food on real dinnerware not the styrofoam takeout plates. We ate chicken and broccoli, fried rice, crab Rangoons and wonton soup. They even brought out a bowl of the dry noodle/chips that go in the wonton soup that you don't usually get at this type of Chinese restaurant. My child likes plain shrimp and they had no problem steaming plain shrimp for her. The little details were great and the food was delicious! My wife and I went for lunch, and her Lo-mein was under-seasoned. They only gave me 2 pieces of shrimp with my chicken and shrimp special, and the rice was cold as well. Tried China Cafe today and ordered the curry chicken. Food came within five minutes (i don't think it was freshly made) probably frozen and reheated. Overall it tasted fine, i wasn't crazy about it. Really delicious Chinese food! We just moved here from Chicago and have been having the hardest time finding good Chinese food. The two places closest to us in Palm Coast have a very odd taste to their dishes, as if they are using some odd spices we've never had in Chinese dishes before. China Cafe tastes like the fantastic food we are used to. Everything we had was awesome--steamed dumplings, hot & sour soup, Szechwan chicken, and mu shu beef. Highly recommend! I don't give much star for take out its like fast food to me. This place is about 10 min away if I take the back road otherwise it's is like 17 min from me. Food look good!and the only reason I wanted to try them is because they have curry chicken for lunch special. So I've order 2 lunch one curry and one beef Lo mein. I was hungry I thought it was good or is it because I'm starving? They do give a large portion so I have more for later. Price must of went up it was around $5 something? somehow it cost me for 2 meal $16+ that's with a soda??? I just moved here last year so there's more places for me to try. read more

Sweet hubby went there to grab some quick lunch for the two of us yesterday, noon-ish. He got a lunch special curry chicken and for me, one of my fav dishes, kung pao chicken, both with fried rice. When we opened the containers - even the smell was all wrong. The fried rice was gray in color, and the little chunks of pork and veggies were leathery. The rice tasted strangely of soap. My kung pao chicken was simply inedible. It looked like they dropped boiled peanuts into a concoction made for another dish altogether, and it tasted nothing like kung pao chicken is supposed to. They could have at least tried. Hubby's food was no better. We've gotten take out from there before. It was great. Have no idea what the hell happened, but we'll never ever ever ever eat there again. I didn't even feel safe enough to give it to our dogs. If you go and get take out, open the styrofoam containers and look at the food before you grab it. Trust me. read more

I am local, and I have to walk to the store. The food can be good, can be bad (though not often) and is usually a mix of good and adequate. The people however, I know that this might seem silly to most, but the staff always make sure I'm okay, even if I just order a small soup, because I get dizzy a lot. They make sure I have water and probably is the most trustworthy business in the area. The food is a bit pricy for what you get, I won't deny that. I also know that a lot of the food quality at fast food Chinese places has to do with the suppliers and often they have no idea till its served. I wouldn't trust any other restaurant in that strip as much as I trust them. They are there for you. And for someone who needs compassion that means a lot more than the food to me. Best chinese fast food in the flagler area I've found so far. Prices are reasonable. The pork fried rice is very good. The general Taos chicken is amazing and never dry. The Mongolian chicken had just the right spice to it. My only complaint is the crab rangoon, too sweet and not enough crab meat. read more

Friendly staff, the food was piping hot and tasted fresh. I liked that they had wine as an option. Although the pricing was probably slightly above average for Americanized Chinese food you get what you pay for. As with most Chinese fast food the interior is fairly average. I would like to see more Chinese restaurants embracing the red, gold, and black accents they can be associated with, and maybe some traditional music would be nice, but I digress. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area & I've been to them all. Great service, quiet environment, and the best food. I eat here at least once a week because I love it so much. They even know how to take something so simple and make it better than the rest such as their lo mien; they add the perfect amount of each ingredient EVERYTIME. Most places put too many veggies that are always under cooked or too much salt but China Café does an excellent job so I don't go home feeling sick or like I wasted money and time.
