One of the best Indian restaurants in the Metropolitan Daytona Beach area. The food was great, and the servings were generous. We had mulligatawny soup, samosas, curry chicken, and dosa stuffed with chicken 65. The best dosa I have had in a long time. No complaints, and just let them know the spice level you want. Service was good, and the prices very fair. Full bar available, and they make a good gin and tonic. Indoor dining room was large and nicely decorated, and they have a large outdoor dining area. I always order the Non-Veg Thali sampler plater, but this is now the 3rd time they didn't give me any meat in the sides. I asked for the mulligatawny soup with chicken, but it was all watery with nothing in it. Another of the sides was tofu. And 2 others were extremely watered down tomato water of some sort. Quaintly Decorated simple decor inside nothing to fancy , they have an ample sitting area , we came in we had to wait three to five minutes to sit . Even though they weren't very full ,I mean we were 6 people , they had an excellent ample menu , I liked they also had Asian type menu featuring various stir dry dishes we started with appetizers, I tried something new called , Samosa Chat ::: veg samosas mashed and layered W Spicy chickpeas onions,Tamarind and Mint chutney, it was amazing loved they also had level three spice . Another favorite was the chicken Mixed Platter, consisting of Tandoori, chicken,W Murgh Tikka ,and Murgh, Malai Kebab's Delicious on a bed of semi cooked roasted onions , the meats were tender just the right spices yes it's a winner . I found this restaurant from another yelpers reviews. I ate the goat lunch box and loved it. I had enough spice to make me sweat above my eyeballs, lol. Plenty of parking with a little walk into the courtyard. I came during lunch time and it was pretty quiet. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms will also very clean. This Indian restaurant was absolutely delicious, I actually remember when I used to go to the one in Fort Lauderdale where they served this mango soft serve ice cream and they actually still continued this at this location in Palm Coast. Anyway, I do recommend the Paneer Tikka Masala as it was so creamy and delicious. They also serve that ice cream and the owner actually gave it to us complimentary and he was a very kind man. I also really appreciate their kindness with helping in menu items and their Indian candies at the end of the meal near the register. In fact, our entire group kept exclaiming, "omg, this is all SO good!" Our family has been lovers of Indian food since we lived in England in the eighties. Nice variety of dishes offered on the weekend buffet for varying tastes Chutneys and desserts were also good. Food was tasty but the temperature should have been hot...not just warm. Mainly our lower rating comes from the service ( lack of). After having a table pointed out where we could sit ( restaurant was not busy) we were given water. Never saw any kind of employee after that until it was time to leave and wait to pay. We finally walked over and found a partial pitcher of water to serve ourselves. It quickly became clear that either the prior reviewers lack discernment or have limited exposure to well-prepared Indian food. One early red flag was the overwhelming menu, with hundreds of items spanning Indo-Chinese, North Indian, and South Indian cuisines. When we asked what the chef specialized in, we were told he was "good at everything," which unfortunately proved untrue. The food was largely tasteless and poorly executed. The Indo-Chinese soup looked and tasted like a reheated canned product. The fried rice was particularly concerning and left us feeling unwell afterward. We cannot recommend The 5th Element enough! We don't really have any good Indian food in St. Augustine, so we made the drive to Palm Coast...it was worth the trip! The food was incredible -- rich, flavorful, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. We tried the Chilly Prawns appetizer, Malai Kofta, Chickpea Masala, Vegetable Vindaloo, and garlic naan. Every dish was packed with authentic spices and a perfect balance between taste and heat. The mango lassi was the perfect refreshment to complement the meal. But what truly elevated our experience was the exceptional service from our server, Lawrence. He was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made fantastic recommendations based on our tastes. Lawrence's friendly demeanor, genuine enthusiasm, and professionalism made us feel right at home. It's rare to come across someone who not only does their job well but also genuinely enhances your entire dining experience -- Lawrence absolutely did that and had a great sense of humor! With Bike Week going on we decided to try 5th Element again. It was nice out and we wanted outdoor seating and they have it. Unfortunately when we arrived the guy that seated us almost seemed upset we came there. We got our table outside and after about 7 minutes we received a menu and bar menu. At least 15 minutes went by before someone came and asked what we wanted to order, so we ordered 2 glasses of Cabernet plus shrimp tandoori, shrimp masala and butter naan bread. After about 30 minutes our food and wine came out. The food was very good which is why it's a shame why I have to rate so low. The service was absolutely horrible!!! We've really had no service. We did not have a server that took care of us. I had to ask 3 times for a 2nd glass of wine which I asked for both my husband and myself, he brought 1 glass, my husband said he wanted a glass too which he never received! My husband asked for the check 2 times but was never brought to us. The 3rd time he said bring it now or we're leaving. This is the worst service or I should say non service we've had in a long time. Such a shame because the food was good and the band was playing in center stage and they have heaters, great atmosphere! But we will not be back! You need to check on each and every customer!! We have been here a number of times and i have been remiss in my reviews for a long stretch, but trying to get rolling again... This is a FANTASTIC Indian restaurant and we very highly recommend it. The service is always great because the staff are just so nice, and the food is amazing. We have tried a number of things and also drift back to our favorites but whatever we have tried has always been excellent. We recently tried the buffet and it was also very very good. It was nice to try it as it is an opportunity to try other things we haven't yet had or just to sample a number of favorites as well. If you do go for the buffet, please do bring your appetite! I had to pick up my friend at the family mechanic today, and after a good hour of driving, I was certainly hungry. I was unsure where to go tbh, but luckily, my buddy had recommended that I try 5th Element, so this is where we'd go! Walking inside, there wasn't a long wait, and we were seated immediately for dinner. For tonight, we got the samosa chatt, Murgh Tandoori (Tandoori chicken), mutton byriani, and garlic naan. Going into my review, the food overall was absolutely incredible! For starters, the samosa chat had a really nice contrast of texture & a great balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavor! For the Tandoori chicken, this was the best by far I've ever tasted! The chicken was super tender, and the spices just linger in your mouth, making you crave every bite. Moreover, I really enjoyed the chutneys served at at table with it (mint, cranberry, and some orange pepper spread). As for the bryiani, this was as fluffy as air. The meat was super tender and well spiced, and the sauces added a nice depth of creaminess and pepperyness to taste. Personally, although all of the main dishes were excellent, I do think the garlic naan was just fair as it wasn't very fluffy and was stale. Despite this small critique, the service was also impeccable! Overall, I'm going to give 5th Element a 4.8/5! Definitely would love to come back here again. read more

My family and I were visiting Palm Coast Florida for a surprise birthday party being held at the Halifax Plantation Golf Club (Yelped elsewhere) and the night before a number of us decided to hear into their nearby village of restaurants for something to eat. As this was a Friday night during the holidays the whole area was crowded but we ended up in 5th Element and I was glad to find this being the case since I had not eaten Indian food in quite some time. I like it but none of my friends experiment much so its never really the choice but I digress. While there was a sizable group with me this evening we managed to be seated rather quickly which was nice. A round of drinks were ordered and then onto the food it was. When it comes to Indian eats I have a few standards that I like to have such as garlic naan (the bread) and chicken tiki marsala. Another of our party had a lamb dish and another some fried rice since they were not feeling 100% tonight and didn't want to chance the heat with their stomach. My chicken dish came with white rice and I loved it. I did forget the amount of onions involved in such a dish since they always mess my own stomach up but I seemed to be alright. The cottage cheese balls were deep-fried and smothered in creamy, gingery, spicy sauce. My mind was trying to discern all the flavors. The garlic naan was flavorful and baked well, not burned, but it was too thick and slightly doughy for my tasted. The price was reasonable. $13.00 for a lunch portion curry. This place is a gem nestled into the European Village in Palm Coast. I adore the ambiance on the patio and so, despite the summer heat, I sat on the patio. My server turned on a fan for me, which made it nice and breezy. I even got to enjoy an afternoon thunderstorm! I arrived at the tail end of the lunch special that is a bento-like "lunchbox". I was having a specific craving, so I opted to order off of the full menu. I've included a photo of the lunch special menu, for those interested, and I'll definitely try that next time. I ordered the gobi manchuria app and saag paneer for my main dish, both spicy (for me that's part of the experience). There's a little chili pepper visible in the photo of the saag, so they took my spice request seriously, which I appreciate. Flavors and textures on point. Even the onions in the gobi were perfect, softened so they still had slight crunch and a subtle sweetness. Their paneer is always perfect. When I eat it anywhere else I am left disappointed and craving The 5th Element. I just had the most perfect meal and I feel nourished. Indian food is medicine for the body and soul and they knock it out of the park here. I hope more people learn of this place and it continues to be successful. Side note, the hours still posted on the door state that they close from 3-4 (to prepare for dinner service), however I was told they don't close anymore, so I hope they update the hours. We enjoyed the night air and were thankful it was covered when the rain came through.
