If you are looking for a fun beachside bar in Flagler beach, the Anchor is it. Good food, excellent happy hour deals and a great bartender TJ

Excellent! They have a variety of martinis. Right on the beach, close to the pier. The clam chowder was so tasty! We got 1lb crab legs for $23 (Sunday special 11a-4p) and surprisingly not too packed. The wahoo was on special and probably my favorite fish of the whole trip! Highly recommend this restaurant. Limited outdoor seating though

Love the seafood at the anchor!!! Two Sundays in a row - the snow crab was spot on! Add in lobster this time and I'm thinking I will be back next Sunday again!

Sister's lunch while walking around the pier area. It was warm out so we were looking for inside seating and seafood. The fish taco's and tuna burger were mouth watering. The New England clam chowder was a bit thin but very tasty. The broiled haddock was not as flakey as we wished it would be and the fried scallops were too watery. I don't know if they were short handed or just run one server normally but she was overwhelmed and the service was not the greatest. We didn't receive drink refills, got charged for extra sauces we never received and was basically ignored. The hostess was a wonderful young lady, it was too bad she wasn't the server.

This place knows how to do food!! Start with She Crab soup and Oysters Rockefeller. I love the trigger fish, although anything you order is fantastic!! Our bartender John was simply amazing, he made sure our food was prompt and our glasses were never empty, very attentive and friendly. This place is the bomb.

Tonight we decided to tryout The Anchor. We were seated immediately and our server Brian took our drink order which was margaritas. He brought us ice waters and shortly after our margaritas. The margaritas were very good. We then placed our dinner order my husband ordered the Trigger fish blackened and fries, I ordered fried shrimp with onion rings. We also received salads with our dinners. The decorations in the restaurant are very beachy and beautiful! We were seated where we are able to look at the ocean. Service was excellent from our server to all working there. Very happy and satisfied with our dining experience!

    Cheeseburger and coleslaw. Both excellent.

Been here a couple times and always enjoy it. The service was slow this visit so I took a star away. The food was surprisingly good. I ordered the shrimp Parmesan which I normally would not do in a non-Italian restaurant. But I have to say it was excellent. The sauce that came with it was very fresh and light and delicious. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and very tasty. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. My husband got the filet mignon and he said it was very good as well. This is slowly becoming my favorite restaurant in the area and I will be back again.

Stuffed flounder and seafood pasta. So much food this is going home.

Not many people out n about so I couldn't really get a vibe for what the place would be like when it gets busy. But it was a great spot for breakfast and we sat on the rooftop area inside so it was covered from the rain, but I can't wait to go back someday for the outside ocean front deck, even closer to the water. I ordered the Irish Benedicte with hash that is homemade on premise with slow roasted corned beef. Very tasty. The side of Home fries were thinly sliced and I had gravy added to that so it was tasty too. Our server was excellent, Trevor was a very nice guy and he recommended we come back for the all you can eat ribs. I wish I was staying in town longer and I would. I'll make a point to come back next visit.

Will we go back? Definitely no. Too many other places to try.

Second visit to Next Door Beach Bistro and once again -- phenomenal…read more Last night I ordered the Beef Bourguignon with cream potatoes, and it was everything this classic French dish should be. The beef was incredibly tender, slow-braised in a rich red wine reduction with pearl onions and mushrooms. The cream potatoes underneath were smooth, buttery, and perfect for soaking up that sauce. Every bite was delicious. We started with the Filet Carpaccio, thinly sliced and topped with shaved parmesan, capers, arugula, and crostini. Fresh, light, and beautifully plated. The bar program deserves its own mention. You can order a vodka soda anywhere, but here they elevate every drink with presentation and detail. Instead of a simple lime wedge, I watched drinks come out with full lime rounds resting on the rim. My Chocolate Martini dessert drink was practically artwork -- topped with a dehydrated orange slice, chocolate shavings, orange zest, and crossed chocolate-dipped sticks. It looked incredible and tasted even better. Atmosphere is another win here. Guests ranged from cocktail dresses to casual beachside attire and somehow it all fit perfectly. That balance is hard to achieve, but they've nailed it. We sat on the patio (about 67°) and they had the panels down, which kept it comfortable while still letting you enjoy the beachside atmosphere. Even the hallway to the restrooms was lined with art -- thoughtful details everywhere. Some restaurants look great but don't deliver on flavor. Others taste great but lack atmosphere. This place does both exceptionally well. Dinner for two with drinks came to $131 before tip, which felt very fair for the quality of food, cocktails, and overall experience. Looking forward to visit number three.

We were seated on the outdoor patio, and I loved the views of the beach and the waves. I ordered a Funky Pelican cocktail, and it was delicious. For my meal, I ordered the fish and chips, which I dearly miss from growing up on Cape Cod. The fish was light, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The batter was crisp and not overly thick. I feel like a lot of places down South use too much batter, which takes away from the fish, but they struck a great balance here. They also served a generous portion of fries. With inflation these days, it seems like many restaurants have started cutting back on portions, so that was a nice surprise. The bathrooms were clean as well. The only downside was that it took a while for our waitress to check on us, but she appeared to be very busy. Other than that, we had a great experience and would definitely come back.

Looking for a fresh seafood restaurant with wild-caught shrimp and raw oysters near the beach?…read more Surprisingly, not this place. The name 'Turtle Shack' does not carry any significance. We did have clam chowder minus the clams and bits of potato normally found in most every clam chowder. It was essentially a milky broth. The fish sandwich was good. Our choice of Mahi was a nice-sized portion-control piece that had no doubt been purchased and delivered frozen, but to be fair was cooked to our liking. And it came with a large serving of crisp tasty fresh fries. The french dip sandwich was also pretty good. Plenty of shaved meat and a nice pineapple slaw side was more than enough to satisfy us. No complaints unless you thought clam chowder actually oughta have clam and potato in it, or if you were planning to enjoy fresh FL seafood at the 'Turtle Shack'. Instead, enjoy the burgers and the wings and the portion-control fish sandwich and the french dip and ignore the mis-leading name out front.
