The waitress told us it's the first day in a while that they've been so busy - probably since it's the first warm, sunny day in weeks. Mandatory valet parking as there are no parking space at this establishment. No fees but a tip would be nice. Nice, festive atmosphere and gorgeous views of the ocean. Friendly, helpful staff. We were a party of 6 and our orders took awhile to arrive. Probably because they were so busy I'm sure the kitchen had a hard time keeping up. I ordered the fried scallops which were a wee bit overcooked but still delicious. The Caesar salad was very nice and my husbands fish was also a bit dry but also quite tasty. A really cool stereotypical Florida looking place. Parking is valet only, you could park in one of the random neighbors close by and walk but we opted for valet. My friend and I walked in and were immediately greeted by the bartender, we chose to sit on their super cool enclosed patio. Hubby and I wanted to try out High Tides At Snack Jack, it always smells so good when we drive by (we live less than a mile away). Decided to try their peel and eat shrimp special for Mondays and Tuesdays, 1lb of peel and eat shrimp for $12. We also ordered a bucket of wine half moscato and half Cabernet. The shrimp was delicious so worth the price!! I ordered their tartar sauce which was absolutely amazing along with the drawn butter. My husband also ordered a side of coleslaw. Our family had loved the food at High Tides at Snap Jack for many years and then had a poor experience in 2024 so we stayed away as long as we could. We decided to show a visiting family member what used to be our favorite restaurant. BUT we had coconut shrimp that was better than ever; shrimp cooked perfectly with fresh coconut! The conch fritters had real chunks of conch in the batter! The excellent smoked fish dip seemed fresher than before. And of course the cucumber dill salad was wonderful. Snack Jack's is one of two restaurants in FB that is on the beach. A large section of their dining room is roofed and screeded in - you get that view and breeze without the bugs, birds, and sun. Cali was our server, and she was fantastic! Our drinks and appetizers came out right away, and our meals only a short time later. Other staff assisted us as well - a true team effort here at Snack Jack's! Mozzarella sticks and Caesar Salad to start. Great sticks, and the salad was HUGE. Very creamy - no skimping on the dressing here! The Mahi Tacos were bomb - the BEST I've had in Flagler Beach! Their homemade sauce complimented them perfectly. Coconut shrimp were amazing, and the raspberry inferno sauce was a wonderfully unique addition! Loved it. We were just driving along the beach when we spot this cute roadside bar and eatery on the ocean.. we pulled in and a nice gentleman said it's valet parking only because spots are limited on side of the road.. no charge but they ask when you leave to take care of him which was good with me. We found this place nearly 16yrs ago when we came to Ormond w/family. We've come back every year since. Not once a year, but numerous times each time we are in town. It says a lot that the same faces are serving us year after year. We have made so many memories there. We always head down to the beach after dinner for pictures. It's little bizarre in that it is valet parking only (there is very little parking given it's location). The host was super friendly and got us a table in the area that looks directly over the beach. That's kinda where the "magic" ended for us. The waiter that was assigned to us was kind of a d%#$. The restaurant apparently only serves beer, wine and wine-based drinks. Our fault for not catching that before we went as someone in our party drinks none of those things. We ended up only doing an appetizer and then left. The waiter seemed grumpy and impatient not just with us but other tables as well (glad it wasn't just us). We come to Daytona every year for Bike Week. When we ride up along the water we usually always stop at Finn's or one of the other "mega-restaurants" on the west side of the road. This year, someone recommended this establishment which is just a little ways south from our usual haunts. It is on the ocean side of the road, has lots of parking, and has great views. Since it seems to be a very well kept secret, it's also easier to get into than some of the other places. They don't seem to have a full bar so you'll have to be happy with beer and seltzer type drinks. Their food is delicious. Everything the people in our party had was great. I had the peel-and-eat shrimp which were perfectly steamed, every shell peeled easily from the shrimp, and the seasoning was awesome. Most places will just use Old Bay, not here. They have an in-house spice mixture that is way better than Old Bay. When I asked for extra spice they brought out a whole large shaker for me. The service was efficient, friendly and fun. We ate outdoors but they have a decent indoor space as well. We liked it so much that we even tried to go back the next day but it was closed. We later discovered on their web site that they close on Wednesdays and Thursdays so plan accordingly. The bottom line: If you're in town for Bike Week or just visiting, this place along the A1-A is great. Right on the water, lots of easy parking, good food, good service, good views. We stopped into this awesome seafood spot on the water for a late lunch. At first we were going to sit outside, but opted to go inside instead since it was a bit too sunny for my pale self haha. The inside worked nicely though since they have a patio area with screens and fans, so it's nice and cool plus you get a beautiful view and ocean breeze while enjoying your meal. Ashley was our server and she was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. I started with a cup of New England clam chowder which was very creamy and tasty. For my entree, I chose the blackened ahi tuna club and got Caesar salad as my side. My boyfriend ordered the fried clam strip meal with fries. The Caesar salad was average, but the ahi tuna club was delicious! I ordered it just seared so it was rare and tender in the middle like I wanted, and was a huge and thick piece of fish. I also opted to add sautéed mushrooms to the sandwich since I love them. The sandwich comes with a blue cheese dressing that tasted delicious! Not sure if it was made in house, but if it wasn't I definitely need to find the brand because it was yummy. I could only finish half and am looking forward to the leftovers! My boyfriend also enjoyed his clam strips. I tasted a couple and also thought they were good. At the end of the meal, I asked Ashley if she could give me a cup of ice for our cooler to keep my leftovers chilled and she kindly brought me a bag of ice and another bag for my container to keep it from getting wet inside. Very sweet and appreciated! Overall, this was a great spot with delicious food and I'd definitely return! Also, just a heads up that parking is valet here.
