Staff was A+ but food was hit or miss. Excellent fried clams and coconut shrimp. Ahi tuna, ok and anything that said crab stuffed might have well as been stove top with crab juice baked in. You are ruining your reputation by serving something so bad. Don't do stuffing!! Two musts (for me at least) when eating fish. And of course, I couldn't miss out on a piece of their incredible chocolate cake for dessert. Yum! The restaurant itself was nice, busy with varied sized groups of guests. I was flying solo and the server and hostess both were both so kind and checked in on me regularly! They are super friendly, helpful, accommodating, great advice on what to have on the menu. They have a lot of specials that are outstanding. Place is small and cozy. We came from Houston Texas and saw the good reviews so we felt we had to try it out. I can honestly say it didn't disappoint. It's great to visit Flagler Beach again. It's been a couple of years for us. Flagler Beach has some really good locally owned restaurants, and we're familiar with most, but we wanted to try something different along the line of some good seafood. So we went to YELP, and we noticed that the restaurant, 'The Net By George' was highly recommended. So we went for it! We were so glad we did. It's a quaint little place from the outside. Parking is in the back too, so don't let that throw you off. Once we got in, the warmth of a classic home-town restaurant experience began. The staff were welcoming, and the waitress immediately was attentive, cheerful and helpful. On top of this, the food coming out the the kitchen looked amazing and the portions were good. The menu is traditional surf and turf served with optional pasta. I started with a cup of (amazing) clam chowder. My main dish was the Captain's Platter with a great variety of seafood and a side of linguine pasta. The batter is light, not oily, and not the focal point, if you know what I mean. I love good seafood, and these guys knocked it out of the park. Delicate and crispy seafood perfection. My wife got the Fried Shrimp platter and it was really good. About the restaurant, the attire is casual and family friendly. It's a great place for a date, lunch or dinner with a friend, a family get together, or just a group of friends wanting some good local seafood. We were with a friend that lives near The Net. My husband chose the restaurant for his birthday after some google research. Best choice ever. My wild caught coconut fried shrimp were maybe the best I've ever had. My friend ordered the monk fish and it didn't disappoint. I had a taste and it was cooked perfect. My husband had the fish fry special which was cod. Delicious key lime and lemon meringue pie finished our celebration. We have been in the seafood wholesale and retail industry for 48yrs. First time going to The Net by George and it will not be my last. Really enjoyed the meal. We started with the fried calamari which was very tender. For our dinners my husband got the flounder cooked "healthy style" which was with olive oil, lemon, white wine and a little salt and pepper according to the menu. And I got the stuffed flounder. Both of us got red potatoes as a side. Food was excellent. The service was very friendly and attentive. The prices are as expected. The ambiance could use a freshening up. This place does not have a bar. They serve beer and wine at competitive prices, $8 house wine. The seafood is very fresh and good. We were going to get the peel and eat shrimp an the crab leg special ($32) but our waitress returned to say they were out of shrimp because of the Thursday night special. Even though it is posted that they have happy hour, they don't. The specials, and the Early Bird menu make up for that. We got the crab dip and the clam chowder to start since no shrimp. They were both very good. The dip had pretty huge chunks of crab in it, served cold. It came with crackers but I would have preferred bread of toast. The clam chowder was perfect - not too thick, not too thin, lots of clams, potatoes cut small. The crab was 1.5 pounds, 3 large clusters with claws. I think it was snow crab. We really enjoyed it. The crab was fresh and not overcooked. It came with Cole slaw and French fries, and while I don't eat Cole slaw, my husband loves it and I think he ate it all. Service was spot on. Place was clean. It's a large restaurant so I would imagine reservations are optional. We didn't have one but we got there when they opened at 4pm (expecting happy hour). We started off our Thanksgiving holiday weekend with dinner here on Wednesday night after setting up our RV at a local campground, we arrived early evening and found a parking space around the back of the restaurant. The restaurant was probably twenty percent filled so we were greeted by two or three members of the staff after being seated immediately. Our server Jnett met us table side and treated up like we were neighbors so friendly and attentive we had a few questions which she answered in her quirky but professional way which we loved. They serve Pepsi products so we opted for a Mountain Dew and a Dr. Pepper - this restaurant has nightly specials as well as a menu filled with many many options so if you're a seafood lover you'll be happy, if your a landlubber you'll be happy. Oysters Rockefeller - medium sized oysters piled high with deliciousness, the mixture had a hint of sweetness (I'm guessing their secret recipe), definitely a version I haven't had before so get ready to be surprised. Liver and Onion (Today's Special) - I searched the menu but kept going back to this one, I love L&O and it's not something easily found in these parts. The portions were extremely generous and the preparation was spot and extremely tender - if I had to do it again I opt for the gravy on the side it was plentiful and good but it drowned out the flavor, surprisingly there was not a mashed potato options so I ordered roasted red potatoes they were also delicious but it still was a little disappointing. Shrimp Parmigiana - super sized two could enjoy this on and probably still take some home. The Shrimp were ex large breaded and fried perfectly, the sauce was good and the amount of melted cheese was unbelievable and she also offered shaved parmesan on the side, served over a ginormous pile of linguine. We chose a house salad over the coleslaw, it was fresh and crispy this is definitely the way to start off a dinner meal.
