We party little bit last night along the light rail downton area in Phoenix. My girlfriend suggest to stop at the Tahi-Esan restaurant for dinner. A great suggestion. Very surpised that a little restaurant like this would serve nice wines in a reasonable prices, deffinatelly they are there to serve the area not to be rich in a week, like other restaurants in the area. The first dish we ordered was the Thai E-San Spacial Appetizer (2)egg roll (2)chicken satay (2)fish cake (4)thai toast (4)wonton with peanut sauce and cucumber salad $12.95, we ordered no spicy, since it can be ordered as mild or hot too. This dish was intense and wonderful. The mix of flavors was from out of world. Excellent portion for three of us. We ventured to our next dishes, my girlfriend ordered # 54 on the menu, the Spicy Mussels with Basil: stir fried mussels in special sauce with onion and basil. $10.95, to die for. And I ordered # 48.Pepper Steak beef Thai Style: with bell pepper, pineapple, onion in brown sauce. Great flavors again. And my sister stayed in the vegan side, # 32.Pad Thai vegetable and to-fu: stir-fried noodles with egg, vegetables and to-fu $8.95. At the end, everybody was satisfied and lunch boxes on hand. We left almost at 11pm... after having several night drinks and having fun, we appreciated that the entire staff was very accomodating, to all of the dineters still in the restaurant at late hours of the night. read more

Been in north Thailand for business lot of times, and I have to said that I have tried the real local food from the vendors in the alleys , and night markets, thru the five star restaurant in the business districts of Siam Road, and have to say that not turisty food is the best and the real thing. A friend of mine who has a business in the Esan region took me to ESAN, and I have to agree, this food is the best in the whole city of Phoenix. Esan region food is amazing and founding this little jewell in Phoenix was a very pleasant surprise. Real authentic north Thai food, in our front yard is amazing. The Royal thai curry is awesome, and the combination seafood stir fried silver noodles were to die for. We also order the Spicy To Fu Salad which easily can be share by two, and the herb flavors are great and fresh. At the end we order the Seafod combo hot pot, when my wife and her boss arrived and they both agree that this was food from heaven. No additions or alterations, simple the best. This food is better than Thai Lanas and Thairama's all together which is been alter for the average palate, now I honestly I can say that Thai Lanas can keep their Americanise-Thai dishes as a third place or fourth place since there are better most authentic restaurants than Lanas in the city. This is a wonderful Thai restaurant, one of the best I have tried in the valley. The ambience and service is quite and friendly. Its a fabulous place for date night. Now here comes my food critic side and knowing the cuisine from growing up in California and spending summers in Thailand. The food at Thai E-San is not bad I just want to reiterate that. However I feel that they can do so much better. For instance for our appetizer of chicken satay, the chicken was dry and didn't have enough sauce to make the distinct taste of chicken satay. Also, for my rad nah I would have liked it to have the noodles browned a bit more to make them crisper so they weren't soggy and the gravey just needs a bit more of a thickening agent to make it more gravey than soup. These are just tiny things that can be over looked but I just wanted to let people know. I do recommend Thai E-San for a quite weekday date night with your special someone. read more

Craving Thai food when I landed back in phoenix after a work trip. Been to a few before and wanted to try something different. Found this spot and the greeting were friendly. Thai egg rolls and papaya salad with crab to start. Both were good. House pad Thai for the hubby and he was very pleased as it had shrimp and other meats in it instead of just one. I had the veggie red curry and it was very flavorful. Love the bamboo. The playing was beautiful and the interior was authentic. I feel like we found our new go to Thai restaurant close to home. Definitely will be back again! I want to try some of the soups as they looked really good but I had no more room for them this trip. Thanks for the great service! Prices were very fair as well. I lived in Songkhon, Laos for several years working in the mountains instaling the power lines, and finding Thai Esan was like going back on time... Excellent, traditional food. Portions are generous. And the flavors are by far the best in town. Real Esan food. My favorite is the Panang curry with seafood, like it real hot, It can be order mild or no heat at all, (my wife's dish) . They have a good selection of beers too. This time they were out of Loa beer. The place is cozzy and clean. Great atmosphere for late night eaters. I strongly recommend the restaurant. I just recently moved to the Valley, my coworkers demanded that I try Thai Food. We went here for lunch and the food was great. They asked my how spice I wanted it... unsure of the whole number thing I asked for it to be one step above mild, a number 1? The food was still great but need to figure out the whole number thing because the food had no spice at all. The only other thing is that my coworker had to wait for her food while every one else had their plates. We were being courteous and waiting but it got the point where she wanted us to start eating, a 1 hour lunch break goes by quick. I will go again. read more

You might have already a favorite Thai restaurant in the valley, but a trip to this new restaurant in Phoenix is simply amazing. The food is one the best in town, we ordered some thai egg rolls filled with lots of vegies; since my daugthers are vegetarians. Then we had the entrees were just delicious. The yellow curry with pinapple was on top of the charts. We also learned the they are running a great menu for lunch, so we decided to leave it for the next visit. The food at Thai E-San is amazing... provided that your order actually arrives correct and in under 30-45 minutes. I have been here seven times and ever single time something has been wrong with at least one or more dish, or delays, or they just forget something we ordered all together. They also don't offer to make anything right in terms of comp or discounts even when they mess up and take 45 min to get a new dish to you. We have a saying that we don't go there for the service, we go for the food. Lol hello curry, chow mean, lemongrass soup, spicy basil noodles are all spectacular! read more

The service was ok and the meal was good, I'm not gonna complain for that. But I will complain for the fact that I was chased down after I had paid because they didn't like/ think that the tip I left was ok. I felt uncomfortable being question on the tip I decided to leave in-front of friends. The women that chased me down suggested an amount that I should tip and I felt pressured to tip that amount. I wouldn't recommend if you don't like people chasing you down just because the tip you left wasn't what they wanted. read more

Like this place for lunch, have never been for dinner. The owners are friendly as well as attentive. That helps. The combo list has choices but not the best taste. The flavors are bland. Their best dish is the salmon in coconut sauce. This is a phenomenal dish with carrots, greens, onions, garlic and two salmon fillets. Love this food, and THAI ESAN gets a high score in my own book. I just had dinner tonight and the place was busy, soft music in the background, it reminded me of the old little restaurant back in Chicago were i used to go with my dad. My first experience with the Thai cousine. Thai Esan menu sent me directly to the sea food combo dish with Stir fried Silver Noodle and mixed vegetables. Yummy! Tried this place for the first time takeout. The service is great, nice on the phone, and were prompt making sure I was attended to. Got the vegetable green curry- 4star and pad Thai 3star. Green curry is nice, it was a true 4star spicy, vegetables crisp and cooked just right, but sauce did have more of a sweetness than I'm used to. Freind got the pad Thai, and he liked it. Easily the best Thai food in Corona, and for twenty miles in any direction. Great food, excellent and friendly service. The kitchen is upfront, so you can smell the curries and herbs when you walk in. I love the pad kra pao, my wife loves the yellow curry with chicken, and the kids LOVE the pad see ew. I had a craving for Thai food, so we stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a great decision! We ordered the red curry and pad thai, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The only downside was that substituting white rice for brown rice cost an additional $4, but apart from that, everything else was perfect. read more

We had dinner here on Sunday night. Service was very friendly and accommodating; the food was delicious. We had the pad thai, egg rolls, and lemongrass soup. We enjoyed all the dishes. We tried Thai E-San for the first time last weekend and really enjoyed it. Everyone in our party was impressed with the menu options and service. This place is awesome. I have been here several times. The Thai Chicken Rice, The curries and especially the ribs are excellent! The staff is very nice. The tea is made from actual Thai iced tea without the milk. SO when you get iced tea, it is awesome. Just add a little sugar and no condensed milk needed! read more

The few things I've tried at Thai E-San were delicious!!! They have lots of vegan options and their staff are so kind. I love their Panang curry and Pad See Ew noodles- the fried tofu works perfectly in both! I can't wait to try more off their menu, it's easily one of my new favorite Thai spots! read more
