Rice and a good Panang Curry
Manuel R.

Still my favorite Thai place in PHX! I have tried numerous places in phoenix and this place has so much more flavor than the others. 10/10 recommend.

Not the greatest Thai food, but was all right. I think the best thing I had was their special drink. Also, when eating here it was under construction, so the ambience wasn't really that pleasant, it just felt overall weird to be there.

Egg Rolls
Clare R.

Food was SUPER yummy! I got it as takeout tho , so by the time I got home the skin on the orange chicken was soggy and the egg rolls weren't crispy. However - I was impressed by the flavor and think it would be even more delish if you went to eat in the restaurant.

Steamed Chicken Dumplings Not a big fan. Not much flavor
Surbhi A.

It's definitely a hole in the wall kind of vibe. I liked the curry. The rice was a bit mushy. Pad Thai ok. Dumplings lacked flavor so wouldn't recommend. I'd come back for the curry.

Pad Se-Ew

We love Authentic Thai Kitchen! This was my first time eating from here, my boyfriend has been coming in for years. I had the pad see-ew with tofu and my bf had the chicken fried rice. Everything was cooked perfectly and very flavorful! Although we got takeout, the restaurant's ambience was very clean bright! The employees were very kind and welcoming as well. Thank you guys for the consistent great service and food!

Egg Rolls

To start I got the chicken egg rolls. The most memorable thing about them was that the sauce was clear. I've never seen that before. If that's how it's supposed to be than someone please let me know. As for the flavor, I thought it was ok, but could have benefited from a better sauce with a much deeper flavor. My entree was the Penang curry. I'm admittedly not an expert on Thai food, so I picked this one because it had a lot of the veggies I wanted and said that it added peanut butter. It was delicious. However, my main problem, and the reason why gave it 3 stars, is that it was SO MUCH peanut butter that I couldn't taste much else. I mean who doesn't like peanut butter? It's hard to tell someone why I didn't like peanut butter overload. If not for that, then I feel like the flavor really needed to be dialed in more in order to make this something I would come back for. One more point that I should probably make: I thought the spice level was perfect, but my midwestern girlfriend couldn't handle it, so you should probably specify what spice level you need when you're ordering

Pad Se-Ew with Tofu

The food was okay. I ordered a Pad See-Ew with a 3 spice level. It was way spicier than I expected. Usually at Thai Basil, a 3 is not very spicy at all. When we first went in, we were the only ones in the restaurant which made me a little worried. The Thai tea was pretty good!

Burnt Egg Rolls
Audra H.

On a quick trip to Phoenix I ordered some to/go on 12/12/2022. Sadly, it missed the mark. The egg rolls were burned. Although crunchy, the sauce was not too flavorful and the burnt could be tasted. Rating of dish, 1. The pad-see ew was okay. Not too flavorful. The chicken was cooked well and quite tender. Sadly, Quite bland taste. Rating of dish, 2. The pad Thai was cooked well somewhat sweet but not up to par with the flavor standards I'm used to when getting this dish. Rating: 2. I'd try a different place if I came back to Phoenix.

Pad Thai with chicken

Have had this place a couple times and I always come back for their pad Thai. It's delicious! The basil fried rice is also delicious!

Great take out food. You can eat in, but it's not much on atmosphere. Friendly folks.

When you can't get in to Glai Baan, go here. Delicious and reasonably priced. The pad see ew is the best.

Is this place still open? Went today and it was not open. Hopefully they are just closed for a short time!

It was as of 2 weeks ago.

What are the hours? Is it open on Sunday? I called today (Sunday) at 1 PM and no answer. Thank you for the quick answers!

Google maps thinks they're closed Sundays. You could try calling since they serve lunch and should be answering the phone if they are open.

Glai Baan - Grilled chicken

Honestly, truly: the whole menu is so well-executed so you can't go wrong. But if you want some good recommendations, don't skip the fried chicken wings, or the eggplant appy. The pad Thai is great. The somtum is good. Order the curry. The drinks are your typical sweet Thai drinks, but a Singha goes better with most Thai dishes anyway. The true charm of this restaurant is its staff as they are genuinely friendly, and very welcoming. Don't plan on walking in. As a matter of fact plan on going 1-2 weeks ahead so call in and make a reservation, then clear out your schedule.

The ambience is super comfortable, easy, casual. But, it's *super* loud, like really, really loud. The 4 of us had to literally scream, top of our lungs, to hear each other, and these aren't big tables, it's tight in there, so you're very close together. We left with sore throats from yelling. It felt like "a relief" when we stepped out front. After 2 hours sitting in the wooden seats, my butt was also relieved to be getting up. Parking is ridiculous, it's a very thin one way driveway with *no way to turn around* when you reach the end - back it up! Super tiny parking lot. Food: the food was very good. We ordered 6-8 things for the 4 of us because all items are pretty small. Top section of the menu are called smaller items. They were. Items on the bottom section are bigger, but not big. For perspective, when the 4 of us split an item from the bottom "entree section" we each got 2-3 bites/forks-full. So a full entree for one person is 8-12 bites. All items tasted very good, clearly high quality, well curated and definitely unique to this restaurant. The steamed white rice was hot, steamy, moist and sticky, really good. The Panang Chicken was really good, different, creamy, dark, rich and smokey. I added pictures of the menu, inside, patio, bar and a few food items so you can see for yourself. Would I go back? I would because the service was great, visual atmosphere was comfortable, and food was high quality, but turning the music volume down at least 1/2 way from what we had would go a long way,... a looooong way, seriously. Increasing the portion size of menu entrees would also be an improvement since they're about the same price as larger portions elsewhere. And throw some cushions on those inside wooden benches, our butts will thank you. Overall this was a good first visit and I'd try Glai Baan again, hoping for the same great service, quality food and updates to the other items.

They will open the front gate right at 5 PM on the nose, we had a 5 PM reservation. There was already a line forming for those arrivals. We had booked bar seating in the back room, which is a bit smaller than the front dining area, but cozy Carly was our server/bartender and she was extremely friendly and explained how everything worked. The menu was split into three portions, North, South and collaborations. They'll explain every addition detail to you if you like. As many had mentioned how good the mango salad is, we pretty much had to order that. I didn't realize it would have nice chunks of shrimp in it, that was a fantastic surprise. We also ordered the crab curry, and that was both of our favorite dishes.- it is served with a big bowl of sticky rice, Yum! The other dish we ordered was a noodle with pork, and those noodles were so creatively tasty. Very good. They don't have a set wine list, they have a QR code on the menu since their wines changed so often but most glasses were $15-$17 each they had a nice Sauvignon Blanc and my husband went for the Thai beer Lovely experience!

As a proud Yelp Elite, I decided to give this place a chance because the reviews were the best I saw in the city! The place was busy on a Sunday night and it is small but I never say customers waiting too long. There were two larger parties seated so the food took some time but nothing outrageous. We started with the calamari, spring rolls, and crab wontons. The calamari were the biggest I've ever seen and very delicious! Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the spring rolls or crab wontons. I feel like those are hard to get wrong but I was not a fan of the cream cheese that was used and it was a lot of it, barely any imitation crab. For entrees, I had the spicy basil and substituted ground chicken for chicken breast, my personal preference. I ordered level 2 spice but it was still a bit spicy for me. Trying a new Thai place is always hit or miss with spice levels so I actually thought I was being safe with 2. Additionally, the chicken was so bland. Some Thai places season their chicken, some do not and unfortunately Pad Thai Cafe missed that mark. My partner ordered the short rib curry dish and my goodness, it smelled like heaven and tasted just as good. I don't eat beef but had to taste it and it was divine! He also ordered spice level 2 and his dish was not as spicy as mine. Overall, the rest of the party enjoyed their food and there were good flavors there so I'd definitely recommend the entrees, not so much the starters.
