Located kinda close to the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, Texas, this restaurant with a very plain name and large menu, served up breakfast classics. I thought the pricing was high for the portions served, but it was tasty. The cafeteria at the hospital is closed on the weekends, so my brother and nephew had found this restaurant the previous morning. I wanted to buy my nephew breakfast since I hadn't seen him for a while, so the two of us came back here the morning after I flew into Dallas. He had just discovered skillets (dish with hash brown as a base, and all kinds of breakfast foods on top), and he wanted to try it again. It wasn't very busy inside, even though it was a Sunday morning. We were seated right away, and our waiter started and continued to be attentive. We both got the same thing: Mexican Skillet (14.99) consisting of chorizo, vegetables, cheese and choice of eggs (mine being over easy). It came soon after, and was served on a typical stone dish (not a skillet). The portions were small, and was light on the chorizo (but had plenty of jalapenos), but the hash browns were very crispy and delicious (the eggs were ordinary). I ordered some salsa with it (which they did not charge me), but didn't need it. The skillet comes with choice of bread, so got english muffin. There was jam packets available at each table, and unfortunately it tasted old. The english muffin had been grilled with butter on the flat-top, a good idea if done right, but it had been squished on it, getting rid of all the nooks and crannies. Not sure why they didn't just put it in a toaster. Paid for the meal tableside, once I got our waiters attention. We had ordered a couple of breakfast bagel sandwiches to go (one sausage and one with canadian bacon) for $7.99 each and it used fresh eggs. They did a nice job of wrapping it, and it was a nice breakfast for the folks who stayed behind.

We decided to try different breakfast place this morning. I asked Yelp and this establishment caught our attention. It says it's under new management at the front of the place. It's located next to the Kwik Lube. We were seated right away and it's very spacious and busy with customers. They have a quite extensive menu front and back. I decided on Migas with corn tortillas (My favorite bf)and PB decided on double cheeseburger with fries. My food was really good and PB's double cheeseburger was ginormous and he said it was really good. Our server was friendly and attentive. It's definitely a keeper. We will definitely return to try more stuff on the menu.

We went for breakfast here. Very busy on weekends. We ordered Bacado Omelette and Lox with tomatoes and onions on wheat toast. Both were freshly made and delicious. Our server is "The Young Turk". He knows what I mean He's friendly and helpful. This restaurant is owned and managed by Albanian Family, a Mom and Pop's business. I noticed the framed painting on the wall of my favorite Saint, Mother Teresa. She's born in Albania. The place is very clean, well lighted and nicely decorated. Will comeback next time to try other food from their menu.

I hate leaving bad reviews, so let's start with something positive. The customer service was great. The lady who took my order was very pleasant, but what's so dissatisfying about take out breakfast on a Sunday, when you could've whipped something yourself is having to pay $23 for dry pancakes and bacon, unsalted eggs and undercooked shredded hash browns. Seriously how do you mess up on breakfast?? read more

I stopped by this cafe around 9:30 on a Sunday morning to grab a bite before doing some errands in the area. I had the Nutella banana french toast and it was great! Love the ambiance, low lighting, old school pictures. Cafe was clean and service was prompt. When I sat down it wasn't very busy but by the time I left around 10:15ish the cafe started filling up. Popular place for young families. Loved the quick table side check out process too. I don't live in this area, but I'll have to find time to come back and try the hash browns. read more

Cinnamon French toast was not battered correctly so just tasted like bread with syrup in it. Eggs scrambled with cheese too little cheese to tell and poor quality scramble. Price is easily 50% more than other better restaurants in the area. No reason to go here. Better food at better prices elsewhere read more

Unfortunately the service is very very slow. Our server did not have a care in the world today as he slowly sauntered around the restaurant....not bringing us water, not bringing us silverware, not asking if we needed anything, not bringing our check. We could have walked out without paying and I'm positive our server would have never noticed. Mario - you'll find that having a sense of urgency in the workplace will yield more positive result. read more

Very disappointed. Food has always been good here and I've been a frequent customer but I brought my friends on a Sunday morning and the waitress up charged us pretty bad. Not sure if it was intentional or if they were just understaffed and didn't notice. We're usually pretty comfortable here so we didn't realize until after we left. read more

SERIOUSLY DELICIOUS! This was our first time in. Our waitress Sam was so friendly and helpful with menu choices. I'm a biscuit/gravy/eggs fan, and only splurge on it once in a blue moon. The Country Skillet was honestly the best I think I've ever had. Husband got the breakfast burrito, and he ate every bite! Has an "at home" family diner feel. We will DEFINITELY be back! read more

We visited Texas Cafe today and couldn't say enough about how GREAT it was. We were seated immediately by Victoria and served a delicious cup of Segafredo coffee. Our waitress Sam was excellent. She was engaging and helpful to make suggestions and accommodate us in any way. Our food was cooked exactly as we ordered, my omelette was sooo good, I couldn't stop eating it! The hash browns were perfectly crispy golden brown. On top of all that, the owner Tim came by our table and treated us to one of his special Albanian crepes. First time visiting , it was about 1:00 pm on Sunday, no very busy. Food was ok and service was not that good.They took an empty plate from one person and left others one she did not comeback to take others , later she came with the check and still not taking the empty plates . price wise much expensive than Hills cafe where we are more regular . I recommend hills cafe price and service is better read more

First time there, went at around noon on a Saturday, not really busy. Got seated and waited on by a very nice young lady. Ordered a breakfast combo plate while the wife got a croissant sandwich. Food comes out in a reasonable time but was underwhelming. The wife's sandwich had been pressed to the point of being flat, and her hash browns were extremely overcooked to the point where half were not edible. My biscuits and gravy were very meh, gravy didn't have much flavor. Meat items were ok, as were the eggs, but nothing special. To many better options in the area so probably won't return, which is a shame, as we were both looking forward to trying this place out after all the really good reviews. read more

I came here with my Nana after work and immediately felt welcome. In particular, Shay was my server and treated me with so much kindness and had very high energy. I got my food within 10 minutes and despite being near closing, we were not rushed out the door or pressured to leave. I am definitely coming back here again real soon. Place was also clean and tidy. Folks, you MUST check out this joint if you appreciate a fabulous breakfast! Honestly, the food is killer and the service is stellar. AND, you can actually speak to and hear your table mates! The omelettes are fluffy and the best you'll ever have. The hash browns are shredded and crispy. English muffins are the real deal. Even their fresh fruit is cut fresh, and each piece is sweet! Today my husband and I gave it a try. The place is bright and clean. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw Segafredo mugs. Fresh brewed Segafredo coffee is quite a treat. We both ordered skillets. A crispy bed of hashbrowns, poached eggs, cheddar and vegetables for me. Crispy hashbrowns and chorizo, avocado and over easy eggs for him. Service was quick and the food was incredible. I had the chicken fried steak which was so big that it took up an entire plate by itself. It came with sausage gravy and a biscuit, grits, and three eggs. $18 for all that. My wife had the spinach bacon and cheese omelet with an extra pancake.

Our server had a scowl on her face from the moment she came to the table. (Long dark ponytail) It was 12:30pm & it was not busy (breakfast rush was over.) We had to get up three times to ask for things, our toast & pancakes, napkins, coffee. The three servers working were standing at the front counter talking away with each other our server, at one point, was talking on her cell phone. The food quality has gone down in recent months. Eggs were nice & hot, hash browns were cold, bacon had been good in the past, but our past two visits the bacon has tasted burnt & it has an odd flavor. Toast was over cooked, not buttered, it was not edible. The last time our coffee was refilled was by a man that looked like he had just come out of the kitchen. He was very nice & we were grateful that our coffee was being refilled without having to get up and ask for it. The servers were still lolly gagging behind the counter while the gentleman was refilling our coffee. I have worked in the restaurant business from being a server & also in management. I am very understanding of all angles of what is going on in a restaurant setting. The service on Saturday was the worst service I have ever experienced. Rude & unapologetic, it was as if we were inconveniencing her. We will not be returning.
