Shrimp enchiladas
Francine H.

We needed food, quickly, before a concert, and this place delivered. This restaurant was packed along with all the other restaurants near by. Unfortunately, we didn't have a reservation, and it was an hour wait, so we went to the bar. A couple was just getting up, so we snagged the table. Our waitress was excellent. She brought us menus, water and were given hot chips with fresh delicious salsa. We ordered the happy hour margaritas and they were perfect to start things off. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas with green tomatillo sauce. The shrimp were big, the sauce was yummy, and the rice and beans were very good. Everyone else was happy with their order. Our waitress quickly ran up the check, as she knew we needed to get to a concert. She was always friendly and helpful to us. We enjoyed our meals, We will be back.

Pros: there was no wait on a Friday evening during happy hour and the margarita is huge. However, the happy hour food was not good... the fish tacos were so bland and dry. The best part of the meal were the free chips and salsa. It was really loud inside. For a nice view of the marina, there was a wait to be seated outside. There is validate parking but you will need to pay about $2.

Beef Sandwich
Denise P.

I came to Tequila Jack's in Long Beach on Sunday morning with my partner. I ordered the huevos rancheros, while my partner ordered the beef sandwich and a Paloma. Unfortunately, the huevos rancheros were pretty underwhelming. They came with two over-easy eggs over a tortilla that was very soggy. I personally prefer the tortilla to have some crispness so you can actually bite into it and get that contrast in texture, but this one was completely soft underneath the eggs and sauce. The ranchero sauce itself was very basic and plain. It wasn't bad, but there wasn't anything particularly flavorful or memorable about it. The beans were fine, but I didn't care for the rice. My partner's beef sandwich was actually decent and probably the better of the two dishes, although it still wasn't anything extraordinary. He also ordered a Paloma, but unfortunately that was disappointing as well. He could really taste what seemed like lower-quality alcohol, and overall the drink tasted mostly like watered-down Squirt rather than a well-balanced Paloma. Overall, nothing was necessarily terrible, but the experience was pretty average. I was hoping for more flavor and better textures from the food, and a better-balanced cocktail. Unfortunately, nothing really stood out enough to make the meal memorable. The staff and waiter were nice and pleasant and restrooms were clean.

Carne Asada & Garlic Shrimp

Located in Shoreline Village and very convenient walk on the overpass if you are staying at the Hyatt. Fun atmosphere, good chips and salsa, the margaritas are big and delicious. Their carne asada is a must and I had the combination with garlic shrimp. A friend had the fajitas and loved them as well. The staff is friendly and accommodating and sitting out on the patio on a pretty day a must. If you are driving, the parking is paid, but most restaurants will validate so your fee is lowered.

Plenty of parking. This place can get packed VERY quickly. Good for apps and drinks. Staff is super friendly. One thing that I didn't like was the restroom smell. The men's restroom smell crept into the women's restroom. I know this is uncontrollable but my goodness hahahaha it could make anyone sober quick. Their salsa with chips were good. Servers were on point and drinks were made quickly with love. Views are awesome. We sat in the bar area outside.

Went here for lunch on Grand Prix Friday. 04.17.2026 I was surprised how fast we were able to get seated! Greeted and seated. Chips and Salsa were served. It was busy because of the large crowds. We waited for our waiter to come back so we can order some drinks. Once he came back we ordered our drinks which we waited another good 15 minutes for him to return with our drinks. The time line was too long of a wait. He left again, waited another 15 minutes to take our food order. Lol. Ordered my shrimp cocktail along with other entrees. Our waiter was ghosting us every 15 minutes. Overall, the ambiance was busy. It is expected because of the grandprix event. This place needs to up their staffing when events like this is taking place. Food was good but service was dissapointing.

Enchilada con huevo

Snuck in a brunch outside before it got hot. It is a nice water front location. We got there at 11 when they opened and didn't have to wait to be seated. They have a lunch menu for smaller portions. I got the green cheese enchilada from there. It was delicious. The green sauce was so flavorful. I loved the black beans and the cheese on them. They have a paid parking lot. Don't forget to get your ticket validated to get a discount on parking.

Chile Colorado (spicy) plate that comes with rice, beans, corn pudding and tortillas Tamarindo Margarita on the side

Went on a Sunday this time (I usually go on Taco Tuesday). The service is always on point as they check in right away and always check in making sure everything is good. The food is always amazing. We came for the carnitas and I decided to try the chile colorado. I was warned it was spicy and I thought it couldn't be that spicy right? It was but man it still had so much flavor and fortunately I enjoy heat. Washed it down with a tamarindo margarita first and then a house margarita. Tequila Jacks never disappoints and it's a place that's always on the list of "Where should we go eat?"

The service was good, it was pretty empty but at first it seems like you're going to get good Mexican food with some good margaritas or cocktails. It was very plain flavor food. Even the guacamole has no lemon, spices, or salt. The chips were crunchy and good but had no salsa that went well with it. The resturant might need new recipes or a new chef. No cocktails and margaritas could be better

Happy hour prices + view of the marina are fantastic. We've only gone during happy hour because we just love the outdoor patio & the prices. No wait at 5pm on a Thursday. Patio: covered on top with heaters. They pull down additional side covers along the patio when it's super windy, so sitting outside is still very comfortable no matter the weather. Inside: dim and moody lighting. Food: 4 fish tacos, chips/salsa (so fresh & crispy), taquitos, pulled pork sliders (skip), michelada and marg for $40. Service: good. Food comes out fast. Definitely recommend for casual fare with great views!

Scooby Snack

Went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait, with plenty of seating available both indoors and outdoors. The menu offers a wide variety of drinks and dishes. It leans heavily toward Mexican food but also includes some American options like burgers and buffalo wings. I ordered a combination plate, which comes with 2-3 items of your choice, rice and beans, and Mexican corn pudding. I chose the pork tamales and taquitos. The pork tamales were pretty good, but the taquitos were bland and I didn't end up finishing them. The sides were decent overall, and the Mexican corn pudding was my favorite part of the meal. We also got unlimited chips and dip, which was a nice bonus. For drinks, I ordered the "Scooby Snack," a cocktail made with rum, melon liqueur, pineapple juice, and whipped cream. It came in a huge cup and was a great value for the price. It tasted good too. Overall, it's a solid spot for food and drinks, and they even offer happy hour, which makes it worth checking out.

Great location, shoreline village. View of the boats, relaxing and on a Sunday, it's hard to beat the atmosphere. So I ordered a Bloody Mary and their Version is extremely sweet. So I had to return it . I the ordered a Coronita Margarita and that is/was tasty. They do have many different offerings of tequilas. And honestly fairly priced. I started with the Fondido de queso basically a Chorizo fondue. It was very good, only the chips were stale. Not all the chips so just so you know, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. The service has been very accommodating. The flavor from the mole was perfect, smooth rich a touch of heat and chocolate. Very flavorful and with the sides of black beans and rice, a tasty pairing. There is side of sweet corn , completing the plate. Great dish. I arrived at 1130 which apparently was the best time. By noon the place was packed and jumping. TVs for the games and plenty of room, so not so crowded despite the amount of people. Great place for a date , or family/friends gathering.

Restaurant: (Score: 10) Nice entrance, décor, and a good view of the sea. Location: (Score: 10) Excellent. Service: (Score: 10) The Senorita who served us first provided good service; the second waiter was attentive to our table and checked if our food was okay. Food: (Score: 6) Appetizers: *Guacamole (10) *Asada Nachos (9) *Chips and Salsa (10) Main Course: *Shrimp Green Enchiladas, pinto beans, and red rice (The enchiladas were cold, the sauce was average, and the rice with vegetables tasted like frozen food). *Carnitas Wet Burrito (The red sauce tasted ordinary, the carnitas were disappointing, the black beans needed more flavor, and the rice needed more flavor). I used my cutlery to signal my opinion of the meal. Drinks: (Score: 5) We ordered 3 micheladas, and the black pepper flavor was very strong.

I have not seen an area where you can dance, it's all tables! Unless they move the tables outside for special events? But so far I've never seen dancing!!

Best thing to do is go on their website and if still unsure give them a call. This is what is posted on their contact page:…

A New Job, A New Milestone & A Chance to Rewrite the Narrative…read more My best friend and I have a tradition of celebrating new jobs with a nice dinner. Since this was her new job and a major milestone, I let her choose the restaurant. She had visited Bo-Beau last year but didn't get the full experience, so this was her chance to rewrite the narrative. And it was truly night and day. I researched the restaurant beforehand and was excited to see that Bo-Beau is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group, which I mostly associate with San Diego and South Orange County. After this experience, I really hope they're here to stay. I noted on our reservation that we were celebrating her new job, and for once, the restaurant actually read the note and acknowledged it. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was excellent. The hostess welcomed us downstairs, another staff member greeted us when we reached the rooftop, and our server quickly followed up. Then came the surprise: complimentary champagne for both of us. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially because those little celebratory touches seem to be increasingly rare. Our server was also patient with our questions and attentive throughout the evening without being intrusive. We spent about 2.5 hours enjoying dinner and catching up over: Baked Brie Brussels Sprouts Steak Frites Everything was flavorful, and the entire experience felt relaxed, peaceful, and worth the price point. The food was great, but the hospitality is what earned the 5 stars for me. Real hospitality is paying attention to the guest, recognizing the occasion, and making people feel genuinely welcomed. My best friend got the celebration she wanted -- and a much better Bo-Beau experience this time around. Will definitely be returning!

Also the Mahi Mahi and grilled shrimp plate with rice. Absolutely delicious. And the dungeness crab. Yum! Also if you want a hammer for the crab, it's a $2 deposit. They refund you after you return it. Obviously had to get the clam chowder in a bread bowl. Absolutely worth it. All of this cost $130. Mostly cuz of the crab at 29.99/lb. I believe it to be overpriced especially when they don't have any transportation cost and the fish is right there and then every morning. It is their advantage at the same time cause you don't know how fresh the fish is anywhere else so that's why 3 stars. Ambience is overlooking the port. Can get a little chilly so you should bring a coat with you or a blanket. They do have inside sitting as well in a building right next to the patio so just ask them to show it to you. They have a big private venue getting fixed right now so you can celebrate big weddings and events there. They did give us recommendations on the fish but nothing other than that. You choose, you pay, you take your food, you throw your plate away. Nobody will come and check on you. If you are looking for a fresh fish - perfect spot. The rest of us, last minute peeps, would've missed out! Had it not been for the bad area being open... we were told by the patio host, yesterday (Wednesday) that it was gonna be a 1.5 hr wait, since tons of people made reservations! Darn it! But the hostess said the bar area is first come, first served! So we put our names down, just in case, and went to the bar area. Thank God we did... because it got PACKED super fast!!! We all got the steak (see pics) and my son got an Arnold Palmer, my friend got the strawberry fields mocktail and I got the blueberry mocktail. Her friend got a watermelon margarita with tequila. I can't believe I finished the whole plate! It was perfect! According to Google AI, the plate was around 6oz of steak, some horseradish mashed potatoes and a big Chinese broccoli! That's about 42-45g of protein, according to Google's AI. Exactly what I needed. What a great deal! I think tonight's menu is salmon something! Everything looks great!
