Pros: there was no wait on a Friday evening during happy hour and the margarita is huge. However, the happy hour food was not good... the fish tacos were so bland and dry. The best part of the meal were the free chips and salsa. It was really loud inside. For a nice view of the marina, there was a wait to be seated outside. There is validate parking but you will need to pay about $2.

Beef Sandwich
Denise P.

I came to Tequila Jack's in Long Beach on Sunday morning with my partner. I ordered the huevos rancheros, while my partner ordered the beef sandwich and a Paloma. Unfortunately, the huevos rancheros were pretty underwhelming. They came with two over-easy eggs over a tortilla that was very soggy. I personally prefer the tortilla to have some crispness so you can actually bite into it and get that contrast in texture, but this one was completely soft underneath the eggs and sauce. The ranchero sauce itself was very basic and plain. It wasn't bad, but there wasn't anything particularly flavorful or memorable about it. The beans were fine, but I didn't care for the rice. My partner's beef sandwich was actually decent and probably the better of the two dishes, although it still wasn't anything extraordinary. He also ordered a Paloma, but unfortunately that was disappointing as well. He could really taste what seemed like lower-quality alcohol, and overall the drink tasted mostly like watered-down Squirt rather than a well-balanced Paloma. Overall, nothing was necessarily terrible, but the experience was pretty average. I was hoping for more flavor and better textures from the food, and a better-balanced cocktail. Unfortunately, nothing really stood out enough to make the meal memorable. The staff and waiter were nice and pleasant and restrooms were clean.

Carne Asada & Garlic Shrimp

Located in Shoreline Village and very convenient walk on the overpass if you are staying at the Hyatt. Fun atmosphere, good chips and salsa, the margaritas are big and delicious. Their carne asada is a must and I had the combination with garlic shrimp. A friend had the fajitas and loved them as well. The staff is friendly and accommodating and sitting out on the patio on a pretty day a must. If you are driving, the parking is paid, but most restaurants will validate so your fee is lowered.

Plenty of parking. This place can get packed VERY quickly. Good for apps and drinks. Staff is super friendly. One thing that I didn't like was the restroom smell. The men's restroom smell crept into the women's restroom. I know this is uncontrollable but my goodness hahahaha it could make anyone sober quick. Their salsa with chips were good. Servers were on point and drinks were made quickly with love. Views are awesome. We sat in the bar area outside.

Went here for lunch on Grand Prix Friday. 04.17.2026 I was surprised how fast we were able to get seated! Greeted and seated. Chips and Salsa were served. It was busy because of the large crowds. We waited for our waiter to come back so we can order some drinks. Once he came back we ordered our drinks which we waited another good 15 minutes for him to return with our drinks. The time line was too long of a wait. He left again, waited another 15 minutes to take our food order. Lol. Ordered my shrimp cocktail along with other entrees. Our waiter was ghosting us every 15 minutes. Overall, the ambiance was busy. It is expected because of the grandprix event. This place needs to up their staffing when events like this is taking place. Food was good but service was dissapointing.

Snuck in a brunch outside before it got hot. It is a nice water front location. We got there at 11 when they opened and didn't have to wait to be seated. They have a lunch menu for smaller portions. I got the green cheese enchilada from there. It was delicious. The green sauce was so flavorful. I loved the black beans and the cheese on them. They have a paid parking lot. Don't forget to get your ticket validated to get a discount on parking.

Chile Colorado (spicy) plate that comes with rice, beans, corn pudding and tortillas Tamarindo Margarita on the side

Went on a Sunday this time (I usually go on Taco Tuesday). The service is always on point as they check in right away and always check in making sure everything is good. The food is always amazing. We came for the carnitas and I decided to try the chile colorado. I was warned it was spicy and I thought it couldn't be that spicy right? It was but man it still had so much flavor and fortunately I enjoy heat. Washed it down with a tamarindo margarita first and then a house margarita. Tequila Jacks never disappoints and it's a place that's always on the list of "Where should we go eat?"

Luis H.

The service was good, it was pretty empty but at first it seems like you're going to get good Mexican food with some good margaritas or cocktails. It was very plain flavor food. Even the guacamole has no lemon, spices, or salt. The chips were crunchy and good but had no salsa that went well with it. The resturant might need new recipes or a new chef. No cocktails and margaritas could be better

Happy hour prices + view of the marina are fantastic. We've only gone during happy hour because we just love the outdoor patio & the prices. No wait at 5pm on a Thursday. Patio: covered on top with heaters. They pull down additional side covers along the patio when it's super windy, so sitting outside is still very comfortable no matter the weather. Inside: dim and moody lighting. Food: 4 fish tacos, chips/salsa (so fresh & crispy), taquitos, pulled pork sliders (skip), michelada and marg for $40. Service: good. Food comes out fast. Definitely recommend for casual fare with great views!

Scooby Snack

Went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait, with plenty of seating available both indoors and outdoors. The menu offers a wide variety of drinks and dishes. It leans heavily toward Mexican food but also includes some American options like burgers and buffalo wings. I ordered a combination plate, which comes with 2-3 items of your choice, rice and beans, and Mexican corn pudding. I chose the pork tamales and taquitos. The pork tamales were pretty good, but the taquitos were bland and I didn't end up finishing them. The sides were decent overall, and the Mexican corn pudding was my favorite part of the meal. We also got unlimited chips and dip, which was a nice bonus. For drinks, I ordered the "Scooby Snack," a cocktail made with rum, melon liqueur, pineapple juice, and whipped cream. It came in a huge cup and was a great value for the price. It tasted good too. Overall, it's a solid spot for food and drinks, and they even offer happy hour, which makes it worth checking out.

Great location, shoreline village. View of the boats, relaxing and on a Sunday, it's hard to beat the atmosphere. So I ordered a Bloody Mary and their Version is extremely sweet. So I had to return it . I the ordered a Coronita Margarita and that is/was tasty. They do have many different offerings of tequilas. And honestly fairly priced. I started with the Fondido de queso basically a Chorizo fondue. It was very good, only the chips were stale. Not all the chips so just so you know, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. The service has been very accommodating. The flavor from the mole was perfect, smooth rich a touch of heat and chocolate. Very flavorful and with the sides of black beans and rice, a tasty pairing. There is side of sweet corn , completing the plate. Great dish. I arrived at 1130 which apparently was the best time. By noon the place was packed and jumping. TVs for the games and plenty of room, so not so crowded despite the amount of people. Great place for a date , or family/friends gathering.

Restaurant: (Score: 10) Nice entrance, décor, and a good view of the sea. Location: (Score: 10) Excellent. Service: (Score: 10) The Senorita who served us first provided good service; the second waiter was attentive to our table and checked if our food was okay. Food: (Score: 6) Appetizers: *Guacamole (10) *Asada Nachos (9) *Chips and Salsa (10) Main Course: *Shrimp Green Enchiladas, pinto beans, and red rice (The enchiladas were cold, the sauce was average, and the rice with vegetables tasted like frozen food). *Carnitas Wet Burrito (The red sauce tasted ordinary, the carnitas were disappointing, the black beans needed more flavor, and the rice needed more flavor). I used my cutlery to signal my opinion of the meal. Drinks: (Score: 5) We ordered 3 micheladas, and the black pepper flavor was very strong.

Yummy margaritas!

How can I get in contact with the headquarters of tequila jacks?

Call the restaurant at 562.628.0454 Ask for a manager and they should be able to direct you.

Is there dancing there? What kind of music for dancing? How old are people there dancing?

I have not seen an area where you can dance, it's all tables! Unless they move the tables outside for special events? But so far I've never seen dancing!!

Are you guys open today and what time do you guys close and can I make reservations?

Best thing to do is go on their website and if still unsure give them a call. This is what is posted on their contact page:…

Are strollers allowed?

You can park strollers outside of the restaurant, but inside it's kind of tight between tables!

Does anyone know if the restaurant will take reservations for parties of 6 soon?

As of right now they only take reservations for parties of 8 or more

They don't take reservations over the phone. We waited 3 hours to be seated so go early

Will you offer happy hour once opened back up on august 7 & going forward?

Happy Hour is Tuesday-Friday 3-6pm.

Do you offer brunch?

No, I'm sorry we do not serve brunch. When we re-open on June 19th our menu will be slightly abbreviated, and we will not carry our lunch specials - some of which are considered brunch items. We hope to serve these items again in the near future,…

When will you guys be open for Dine-in?

We will be reopening for in-door & patio dining on Friday, June 19th. We look forward to serving you!

Please tell me they're still open?

They are open for take out only. But they are open

Is there a cover charge on Friday nights? Good place for dancing?

No cover charge that I am aware. And no dancing place.

Do you have a private dining area for a bridal shower for 30-32 people? Do you have preset menus/prices available? How many hours will this cover? Thank you for your time!

Call and ask to speak with Oscar or Debbie

King's Fish House - One of Long Beach's Finest Restaurants!…read more King's Fish House is the granddaddy of seafood restaurants in Long Beach! I'll go further: I consider it one of the five best restaurants in the entire city. No question about it. This place is truly special, and I don't think enough people realize how good it is. I go frequently because I love the food, the atmosphere, and the consistently fabulous experience. Every single time. There's something difficult to describe about this restaurant. When I'm hungry and thinking about where to eat, King's Fish House immediately comes to mind. Once I decide to go, I'm excited about the meal before I even arrive. Then comes the menu. Oh, that menu! I sit down and genuinely have trouble deciding what to order. Do I want sushi, one of their incredible fish dishes, a fish sandwich, a salad, or clam chowder? I almost never order soup, but their soups are so good that I look forward to them. The clam chowder is fantastic, the bread is wonderful, the sandwiches are delicious, and the seafood selection is enormous. The quality is consistently excellent. It's almost frustrating to have so many good choices because I want everything! That's what makes this restaurant special to me. I'm not wondering whether I'll enjoy my meal. I already know I will. I'm simply excited, enjoying the atmosphere, and waiting for food I know will be delicious. That kind of consistency is rare. The atmosphere deserves just as much praise as the food. The interior is absolutely gorgeous. It's elegant, classy, spacious, and full of character. The bar is particularly impressive, with a beautiful historic look that makes you feel as though you've stepped into a classic upscale restaurant in New York City or San Francisco. The restaurant is enormous, with plenty of seating and wonderfully large booths perfect for groups. There's lively energy throughout, especially around the bar, but it still feels comfortable and inviting. Even the bathrooms are beautiful and exceptionally clean! That may seem like a small detail, but it reflects the pride taken in maintaining the entire restaurant. It's the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy a cocktail, watch people, take in the surroundings, and feel like you're somewhere special. Despite the upscale setting, there's nothing stuffy or pretentious about it. The service? Five stars. Always. I've been here many times, and the service has consistently been excellent. The staff is friendly, attentive, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. I also have to give a special shout-out to O. My man! O is a character, and I mean that in the best possible way. He's authentic, personable, and just a great guy. His wonderful personality makes you feel right at home. He's exactly the kind of person who makes dining out more enjoyable. You don't forget people like O. The general managers deserve recognition, too. They're professional, approachable, and genuinely nice people. You can tell there's pride in how this restaurant is run. That leadership, combined with a welcoming staff, creates an experience that goes well beyond simply serving good food. And let's not forget the drinks and desserts. The cocktails are fantastic, and the desserts are delicious. Whether you're enjoying a full seafood dinner, a casual meal, drinks at the bar, or an evening with friends, King's Fish House delivers. I know what some people are thinking: downtown Long Beach. I get it. Downtown isn't everyone's first choice for dinner. But King's Fish House is worth the trip. We park, walk to the restaurant, and have never felt that getting there was a reason not to go. One of my favorite moments is walking through the doors, settling into a booth, and taking that big, satisfied sigh: Ahhh. We're here. I'm about to enjoy a wonderful meal in a beautiful restaurant, surrounded by friendly people. I can relax and know I'm in for a treat. My girlfriend and I don't need much convincing. When one of us suggests King's Fish House, the response is usually, "Let's go!" And that says everything. I've eaten at plenty of restaurants, but what distinguishes King's Fish House isn't just one great dish, a beautiful dining room, or a friendly server. It's the entire experience. The food, selection, quality, atmosphere, service, management, and consistency all come together to make this place exceptional. King's Fish House is one of Long Beach's best-kept secrets, even though it's right there on Pine Avenue in the heart of downtown. It's a restaurant with character and personality--a restaurant that makes you feel good just being there. Five stars doesn't seem like enough. If you haven't been to King's Fish House, you're missing one of the finest dining experiences Long Beach has to offer. An absolute Long Beach classic. I love this place!

A New Job, A New Milestone & A Chance to Rewrite the Narrative…read more My best friend and I have a tradition of celebrating new jobs with a nice dinner. Since this was her new job and a major milestone, I let her choose the restaurant. She had visited Bo-Beau last year but didn't get the full experience, so this was her chance to rewrite the narrative. And it was truly night and day. I researched the restaurant beforehand and was excited to see that Bo-Beau is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group, which I mostly associate with San Diego and South Orange County. After this experience, I really hope they're here to stay. I noted on our reservation that we were celebrating her new job, and for once, the restaurant actually read the note and acknowledged it. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was excellent. The hostess welcomed us downstairs, another staff member greeted us when we reached the rooftop, and our server quickly followed up. Then came the surprise: complimentary champagne for both of us. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially because those little celebratory touches seem to be increasingly rare. Our server was also patient with our questions and attentive throughout the evening without being intrusive. We spent about 2.5 hours enjoying dinner and catching up over: Baked Brie Brussels Sprouts Steak Frites Everything was flavorful, and the entire experience felt relaxed, peaceful, and worth the price point. The food was great, but the hospitality is what earned the 5 stars for me. Real hospitality is paying attention to the guest, recognizing the occasion, and making people feel genuinely welcomed.
