My husband and I came on a Friday night for an early dinner. Ordered the Taiwanese beef noodle soup, popcorn chicken, pork chop and noodle and the black jelly/ boba mango dessert. I thought everything we ordered was solid. Popcorn chicken -4.8/5 Beef noodle soup- 4.5/5 Pork chop- 4.5/5 Dessert- 3/5 Service wasn't the best despite us being one out of the two tables in there. Like why wouldn't you clear the table before dessert. Spend $20 and you'll get a chance to win a blind box from scratching a card.

I've heard of Teawood Cafe, so we decided to stop by on our way back from Sausalito with my family. We were looking for a sweet treat and a refreshing milk tea. We ordered the Signature Todu Pudding, Mango Sago Milktea, and Halo Halo Sundae with Vanilla. The Signature Todu Pudding was a letdown. It had no taste or sweetness at all. We had to ask for sugar, which is supposed to be a sweet dessert. The Mango Sago Milktea was also not as good as other places we've tried.

But have a very eclectic set of different food and great seating. Lots of desserts with cute presentations and large TVs. I would definitely come get with friends to hangout as a cafe midday

Came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. Got seated right away and they weren't too busy. I'm surprised they weren't busy because this place is great! More people need to come here if you're craving some Asian fusion food. We ordered quite a bit for 4 people because we got excited seeing the menu and wanted to try a lot of things. In all honesty, not everything was great but the experience was awesome. The servers here were very friendly. We had 2 guys as our servers and they were very attentive. We ordered this ice milk tea that comes with a bear. We got it because we thought it would be a good picture for the food review and Instagram lol. Unfortunately, the bear didn't float on the drink and sunk down. The guy was very nice to try and make us another one on the house but it also sunk. During our meal, he came up to our table and asked us for our opinion on the drink. He was welcoming feedback and told us more about his thought process on the drink which was wonderful. Love a place and a person that is trying to improve! The drink flavor was good but it could be sweeter and creamier. As for the food, I mentioned not everything was great but it wasn't terrible. -Rose fried wings - don't know if these are actually fried. Seems more like baked and covered with candied sauce. Way too sweet my liking. Would be nice to have it more salty and less candied but was interesting. -Pandan chicken wraps - ordered due it being a recommend item. It was very fragrant like the server mentioned but not something I'd get again. It was small skewer like pieces of chicken wrapped in leaves. Interesting but nothing special -Laksa soup noodle - this was just bland for a Laksa dish. It was missing the umami, coconut creamy flavor. The color of the soup was already light in color. -Thai ground pork dish - This wasn't bad. I just think it could've had a better pork to rice ratio Everything else we loved. big fan of the Taiwanese chicken over noodle. I opted for the spicy version of the noodle and it was great flavor. The chicken was tasty and juicy. The ramen here wasn't as rich and oily which has its pros and cons. Solid though for the price + you get a cutlet on the side. Despite the some items being lackluster, I'm still giving my experience here 5* because of the price, staff and overall experience. You also get a scratcher for every $20 spent. We ended up getting 6 scratchers. 2 were duds, 2 for us blind boxes and 2 got us free appetizer items. Neat idea! Definitely will be back

TeaWood Cafe is a good restaurant for Taiwanese and Hong Kong style food and drinks. We came on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was busy with a couple parties waiting. It's first come first serve. After being seated, we were given menus, but we ordered from my phone by scanning a QR code at the table. I ordered the Taiwanese Pork Chop Noodles. The pork chop was crispy and delicious and the noodles and veggies were good too. I was pleasantly satisfied with this order. I also tried the Braised Beef Noodle Soup, which I thought was just okay in terms of flavor and a little too spicy (for me) at mild. We ordered the cucumber beef roll for appetizer and the sesame balls for dessert and enjoyed both of them. Service was a slow and inattentive at times, but we were able to get what we needed. The restaurant had a promotional special where for each $20 you spend, you get a scratcher card with prizes being blind boxes or food items. I got 2 blind boxes which had a small, cute stuffed food toy inside. Overall, good experience at TeaWood Cafe.

So delicious, affordable, and comforting! This spot is a Hong Kong style cafe but they sell lots of Taiwanese foods & other asian-fusion dishes. Highlight of the meal had to be the clam & salmon in creamy mentaiko sauce pasta. Unfortunately forgot to take a picture but if you're reading this I'd highly recommend trying that dish! Also enjoyed the deep fried chicken cutlet with minced meat sauce over noodles. So flavorful and extremely generous with the protein. They seem to do well with fried foods here. Everything else was tasty but I'd say those were the dishes that stood out most. We arrived on a Sunday past noon and it was half-packed. They seemed really understaffed as our server looked tired and was running around. Looks like a family owned spot. A gem for affordable eats for sure! Perfect spot for sharing with family and friends as well.

I came here on a weekend evening with several friends and were seated immediately. There are plenty of bright lights and neon displays in the restaurant, and service was responsive and friendly. My friends and I generally had a satisfying experience. I loved their popcorn chicken, which was super crispy and had unique flavoring that made it the favorite at the table. Their braised beef noodle soup was also good, which was rich and perfect for when I was craving something hearty. On top of the food, they had a deal where my friends and I got plushies from a blind box after spending a certain amount, which made the visit even more fun and memorable. Great food and good vibes!

We were really excited to try this place but our first impression was not amazing. We walked in on a rainy Sunday around 3 PM and awkwardly stood near the doorway for about a minute before we were acknowledged at all. After speaking to a server, we waited another 10 minutes or so for a table. The restaurant wasn't full--it was just that all of the open tables (4 or 5 open tables) still had uncleared plates/dishes from previous customers. This place is very obviously understaffed and we noticed that every server was quite busy. We ordered a signature purple rice yogurt drink, watermelon green tea smoothie, popcorn chicken with minced pork sauce over rice, braised beef noodle soup, and scallion oil noodles. The popcorn chicken was a good texture with the right about of crunch to it, not dry at all. The minced pork sauce was too sweet for me and the rice was on the dry and light side (it tasted lower quality than your average restaurant). The braised beef noodle soup had more of a numbing flavor than a traditional Taiwanese beef noodle soup but the noodle and bok choy textures were good. The beef noodle soup was fine overall, but we agreed that we wouldn't really go out of our way just to have it. On the bright side, the scallion oil noodles were really good and it was probably our favorite dish! Lastly, the drinks were all right--they tasted good but were not remarkable. We were helped by a young Asian man who was really kind and helpful. We did notice that he was running around the restaurant doing almost everything: packing take-out orders, moving food to tables, making some drinks, grabbing to-go boxes for customers, clearing tables off, communicating with food delivery drivers, etc. Overall, the food was fine but we didn't feel that it was exceptional or worth going out of our way for. The biggest thing is that this restaurant could really use more staff.

Came on a Saturday around lunch. There was a small line but it went quick. The food came out really quick and it was delicious. Really enjoyed the braised beef noodle soup the most. The wings were good too since they used the popcorn chicken seasoning. 2 entrees and 2 appetizers were too much for 2 people but we wanted to try everything!

Spacious, good and quick service. All the foods are well-seasoned. Drinks are sweet (I recommend less sweet). No MSG added. Affordable pricing. Foods: - Black Garlic Oil Ramen: can definitely taste the garlic but wish it was stronger. You can decide how you want your eggs cooked. Broth is not too oily - Braised Beef Noodles Soup: spice is tolerable and has a nice kick, flavorful - Taiwanese Fried Pork Chop Noodles: noodles are soft and well-cooked, flavorful - Seafood Tom Yum Cream Sauce: flavorful, spice is also tolerable (barely there), good ratio of seafood to noodles - Deep Fried Tofu: not overly salted, soft inside, crispy outside - Popcorn Chicken: classic, crispy - Boba Tofu Pudding: pick your base (we got the thai tea which actually tastes pretty good and not overly sweet or concentrated), chestnut pearls are like popping boba but a bit firmer, pandan jelly is agar based and doesn't taste like pandan Drinks: - Pink Lychee: refreshing, sweet - Iced Bear (Black) Milk Tea: not overly sweet, tea doesn't taste artificial. Bear is ice

Beef Tendon (not at all what I was expecting, much more like beef shank)

Teawood Cafe in the Richmond has quickly become one of my favorite neighborhood spots, a delicious little cafe right off Geary serving an eclectic mix of Taiwanese, Hong Kong, and even Japanese dishes alongside an extensive bubble tea and dessert menu. The assortment of offerings is huge and they are consistently cranking out great milk and fruit teas plus comforting plates like fried pork chop over noodles or rice, popcorn chicken, braised beef noodle soup, and Rou Zao Fan (Taiwanese minced pork over rice). Their soup selection alone could keep you busy for many visits, since it feels like a mini tour of Asia with options like ramen, tantanmen, laksa, lai fen, and even mala tang. Almost everything I have tried has been delicious and satisfying. The only misses for me were the beef tendon, which turned out more like sliced beef shank or the five spice beef appetizer you see at a lot of restaurants rather than the gelatinous cubes I was craving, and the tonkatsudon, which while built on a very crispy and tasty tonkatsu, ended up a bit dry, under seasoned, and sitting on way too much rice for the amount of topping. That said, the hits outweigh the misses, and there is a real sense of fun here too. For every certain amount you spend, they give you prize scratchers where you can win free food items, discounts, or, most exciting in my opinion, a mystery box with adorable fruit and vegetable plushies. I have managed to win at least one on every visit and even scored two on my most recent trip, which feels like a delightful little bonus after a good meal. The staff is always friendly, the portions are generous, and the overall value is excellent for what you get. If you are in the Richmond and craving milk tea, Taiwanese comfort food, or a place where you can work your way through a big, pan Asian menu, Teawood Cafe is absolutely worth a visit.

Large menu with a variety of drinks, snacks, and meals! Dropped by for late lunch on Thursday ~ 4pm. Aside from one table already eating, the place was empty, and we were seated immediately. What we got: - Ice milk tea ~ slightly watered down and too milky, the drink lacked tea flavor. Milk tea ice bear was a cute addition! - Braised Beef Noodle Soup ~ Braised beef was flavorful, slightly on the saltier side. served with decent-sized veggies. - Taiwanese Minced Pork Sauce Over Noodles ~ Decent amount of sauce that perfectly coated the noodles once mixed. Jammy soft-boiled egg is also served alongside a decent portion of veggies. Also on the saltier side. Note: similar noodles are used for both dishes. decent texture and width, which was a plus! Service was rough. Despite the empty place, there was only one waiter responsible for all drink orders being ordered to go. Flagging down the waiter was rough for ordering and grabbing the bill. Fortunately, the food came out decently quick. After your meal, you get a scratcher for a chance of rewards. With a variety of items on the menu, this place offers a range, from a quick snack to a sit-down meal! Might return as there are other interesting things on the menu.

For the broccoli beef, the broccoli was nicely cooked and the meat was very tender. We really enjoyed the 606 house fried rice. It wasn't overly fried like most places and felt fresh. The mixture of proteins was also tasteful. Now for the pork dumplings, the presentation was nice and also tasted great with nice hints of shrimp.
