Visited during my trip to NY from New Orleans, Louisiana. Staff was excellent. Had $5 mussels on Sunday and they were AMAZING!! My best friend and I stopped by and honestly the staff treated us so well. Alexis the bartender kicked ass serving our drinks and Alex was friendly as well. I stepped out front and the bouncer did not inform me I wouldn't be allowed back in because the bar was closing. My friend I had come with was inside and I was not allowed back in to get her. I had to wait outside for some time until she came out to look for me. Stopped in here the other night with a couple of friends for dinner before we bar crawl around "P-Town". I remember my first time trying food here was at a gathering for the passing of a dear friend who's alter ego was a regular at this bar. (#CraigRules) I can see why he loved this bar. The food is fantastic, the service is excellent, & they have a pretty wide selection of brew on tap. I remember when The Tap Room had just opened up it, All I could remember was their huge specialty burgers, Although never having the chance to actually try and enjoy one... But since then, from what I can see their menu has really broadened a lot. Delicious too. Between the appetizers to the "drunk desserts" it's all really fun and delicious. I know throughout the years Patchogue has bloomed in the Restaurant/Bar department. I'd say The Tap Room has surly made its mark in the industry. Its bars like The Tap Room that have people coming from all over long island to spend time in Patchogue. I'm glad I got the chance to finally enjoy the food once again. I'll be sure to visit more often. read more

This place is legitimate! I have been coming to the Tap Room when it was the original Perabell Food Bar. Followed them across the street then followed their bartender now owner, back to the Tap Room. Service is A+. Knowledgeable, beer smart, and can pair anything on the menu with the appropriate beer on tap. The food is also A+. The buffalo chicken wrap is so good that I now travel 30 minutes from north shore to south, through 112 traffic and all just to have it. AWESOME! read more

Great beer selection and the food was once excellent. Very disappointing change since our last visit. Disco fries were once life changing, now you need a knife to cut the gravy. Congealed and out of a can. Don't bother with the brat platter. Over cooked and expensive. killer place, bar area is a bit tight. They make up for the tight bar area with a larger room with tables PLUS an awesome private patio area. We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday in the upstairs room of the Tap Room and it was amazing!! The staff was unbelievably awesome going above and beyond to make sure every aspect of the party was perfect! The food, drinks, and atmosphere were outstanding! We went to this place because we heard the muscles were so good. We started off with two orders of the mussels in white wine and garlic. When they brought them out to the table it smelled so bad there must have been some muscles in the batch that were spoiled it smelled like a rotting bait station. Not only that but they weren't cooked through all the way and they weren't even hot. We sent both orders back. For the entree I had the carne asada tacos. The skirt steak was tasty and cooked right but there wasn't enough. The tacos would have been good however they were served on uncooked soft corn tortillas which tasted horrible and fell apart when I picked them up. My sister couldn't even finish her mahi-mahi tacos she said they were horrible. My wife ordered the brisket sliders which were extremely dry and the Buns were loaded with some sort of Grease or oil. My son ordered a regular cheeseburger and said it was very good. I guess if you come to this place you should stick with the simple stuff. Maybe we went on a bad time, it was Saturday afternoon and I think the chef there at that time didn't know what he was doing. The reason why I gave this place two Stars was that our waitress was very nice and nobody complained about the drinks. I drink coffee and it was straight from a K-Cup so impossible to screw up. With all the competition in Patchogue I would consider going to a different place if you want something good to eat. read more

I came here for live after 5 with a bunch of coworkers a few weeks ago 6/27. I had purchased a seltzer & cranberry from the inside bar and discreetly asked the bartender if I could bring the non-alcoholic beverage outside to join my friends. I was newly pregnant at the time and was not ready to share the news with my friends. The bartender told the inside bouncer to let me out the door and I was ok to leave with the drink as it had no alcohol in it. The bouncer guarding the outside area stood there refusing to let me in- I quietly told him "sir, I am pregnant- this is a seltzer and cranberry- the bouncer outside the doors knows if you can get his attention". He took the drink out of my hand and took a sip- as the wife of a law enforcement officer I know that that is NOT allowed. And also, thanks so much for now putting your mouth and sweaty hairy upper lip into my drink as I have previously told you I AM PREGNANT, really don't need your germs in my drink. Any who- he insisted there was alcohol in it, which is why you aren't allowed to try drinks into the first place because you cannot prove it. I tried to stay quiet and calm as I did not want to make a scene in front of my coworkers and really wanted to just enjoy my night. He eventually let me in after acting like a complete DICK. I love the tap room in Massapequa & bayshore. Patchogue, not so much. And please, for the good of man kind, require your employees to bathe. read more

My friends and I come here almost every Sunday (especially when they have the $5 wings & muscles). Always pretty good service, the drinks are great and the buffalo muscles are probably my new favorite food. We've become to know a few of the servers there which is nice because they remember how the big group of us always needs our checks separated. Solid food, decent beer menu, but I'd sub out the plethora of Blue Point offerings, but can understand why since they're right around the block. Buffalo Mussels were great, all fresh and very good. Might even put them up there with Waterzooi? I had the Mac n Cheese burger which was good, don't get me wrong...but more of a novelty than a fantastic burger. Gotta work on the décor outside in the courtyard, but all in all a good place for a beer and food. I'd go back for the mussels alone. A-OK is right. read more

Came here with my wife after moving from Brooklyn.. Great little neighborhood pub with awesome happy hour prices. Heafty choice of beers on draught. Coming from Brooklyn, where there are a lot of beer bars out to LI its a great transition. Great food, service and vibe courtesy of house Ipod. The barmaid Lauren (also from BK) knows her stuff! Especially IPA's. Very friendly and helpful and turned my wife onto beer with a tasty german wheat and then banana beer?!!! Never thought the day would come! Tap Room is your standard sports bar with a twist: the large selection of craft draughts. They've got three tap "towers": one devoted to only Blue Point beers (your standards like Toasted, Hoptical, Blueberry, Rasta, a seasonal, and usually a small batch rotating in and out); one tower devoted to "imports" (not very inspired, but this is the tower for your Amstel and Guiness); and a tower devoted to American craft. The American craft tower is the "money shot." Dogfish, Left Hand, Heavy Seas, Southern Tier, etc. Always something new and mostly good selections. Is it possible to deep fry a salad? Has anyone tried? While I love the selection at Tap Room, the staff tends to have a short shelf life. There seems to be a high turnover for servers and bartenders and with this comes a constant rotating cast of newbies who sometimes have difficulty recommending new beers. However, they're all really nice and eager to please. Very warm place. There's always a "tap takeover" on the horizon, where the managers bring in reps from a regional microbrew to takeover the American craft tower. How do you pronounce "mayonnaise"? Always fun nights with lots of giveaways and carefully selected "flights." The place can get a little grungy at night: tables haphazardly cleaned between customers, a poorly maintained bathroom, and grimy floors. You'd expect that at your standard sports bar on game night, but I expect more from a place that sells the occasional $9 pint. A lot of local bars advertise microbrews or craft beer, but few offer a selection as varied and changing as Tap Room's. Definitely give them a try. read more

We love going to the tap room for dinner and happy hour too. The food is wonderful and the drinks on tap are always really cold. We love this neighborhood spot! Another very average bar trying to piggy back off of the up-and-coming mentality of the Main Street Patchogue area. Its apparent that the owner purchased the existing bar, never upgraded the bar top or table tops and just ran with what he had instead of making the place his/her own. Another lazy owner trait is employing the prettiest girl you can find behind the bar. That wouldn't be a problem if the bartenders best bartending trait wasn't just being pretty. I'll never understand that mentality in the bar business. People (not even guys) don't return to bars because the bartender is "hot," they and everyone else return to places if the food is good (its eh), if the service is good (its slow)and if the atmosphere is enjoyable (inside its a bit loud, I'd say). There are hot girls everywhere, who cares if they're behind a bar taking forever to get me a beer or google a drink because they don't know the basics? A quick comment on the meatball sliders--below average meatball and what looked to be cheap "fresh mozzarella" melted on top that came across like liquid plastic. The best thing about this place is location, without that they'd be closing up soon. read more

My daughter met her fiancé here so we thought this would be the perfect venue for their engagement party. Alona, the catering manager, and Alex, who ran the party, delivered! The upstairs was spacious and allowed for guests to hobnob at the bar as well as sit at one of the many tables to eat. Everyone commented on the delicious appetizers. Alona ensured our vegetarian guests had plenty of options. The bartenders were attentive. We decorated to celebrate the occasion and Alex ensured all the tables were arranged as I desired. All of our guests commented at the party, and continue to voice how fabulous the evening was. Most of all, the future Mr. and Mrs. were delighted! Mission accomplished! This place doesn't need a review, but why not! I went on my birthday which was Election Day (yea I needed a drink) we got seated right away and ordered the fried pickles. Those were great. I've done both takeout and sit in for Tap Room and I usually stuck with the chicken and disco fries. The problem is they are inconsistent. Sometimes the fries are good but more then half the time they are undercooked and super soggy from the insane amount of cheese put on and I love cheese but it's over done. They also aren't friendly and lack customer service. Its a shame because the food has the potential to be really good. read more

My experience at The Tap Room tonight was quite unsatisfactory. We arrived as a group of five and all ordered a beer as we walked in. The bartender seemed preoccupied with the 'regulars'. We take our gathering to the outdoor patio when two more friends arrive and were informed we should pay our "indoor" tabs or that we could switch to the "outdoor" server since we wanted to order food. No problem, the server said it is easy to switch over and that there would be no discrepancies, and the new arrivals open a separate tab. Here's where it went downhill. Five drinks later we get our tab and see we are charged for an extra beer that no one had consumed. Between the seven of us we had two separate tabs so it shouldn't be a lot of confusion - we all knew exactly what we had being that is was Sunday evening and we weren't drinking heavily and we all have day jobs. We asked for our tabs, ours coming out to $56 and change for 9 beers and one disco fry. You would think we would get at least a SINGLE buyback but there weren't any. Hey, maybe the bartender had a crappy day, so we thought, "whatever," and continued trying to have a good time. We paid our tab as our friend was paying his, taking care to tip enough for both the "indoor" bartender and "outdoor" server. They did not return our cards when we asked for the tabs. We informed our server that we didn't order a phantom beer on our friend's tab and she said she will look into it. After both tabs are paid in cash, completed, end of transaction, no more left to take care of, and so on, the server returns with a third tab, saying the phantom beer on our friend's tab was supposed to be on ours so she was charging us for the one beer. We politely asked for more information and for the server to double check. Instead, the obviously irritated bartender comes out and adamantly explains to us that we had this beer when 7 of us had just conferred together and tallied every single beer we had by brewery and style of brew, and what type of glassware it came in. After twenty minutes of frustration trying to pay tabs, trying to figure out tabs, trying to explain that we did not order this ONE EXTRA BEER we just paid for it and left. As a craft beer enthusiast, when faced with the decision of going out for drinks at Tap Room or greasy Checkers burgers and 40s of Old E from 7-Eleven, I'll choose going to sleep early, and my girlfriend says she is never going there again. read more

Stopped in last night around 6pm for a bite to eat and a few draft beers. Turns out it was their 3rd anniversary celebration. Busy but comfortable bar area with a very nice feel to it. It really does remind me of the some of the boutique size gastro-pubs that can be found a little closer to the NYC, the outside seating area with large TVs is clutch. The tap selection is vast but not obnoxiou with Tons of LI selections and Hard to find import craft beers. I had a Delirium for my first brew which is hard to find anywhere around here because of it price point. I was there during happy hour and it only cost me 4-5 bucks. They carry some staple brands and rotate their taps often. I think this is a great place to watch a game while you enjoy food inside or outside. The bartenders were busy, but were still attentive and friendly. We enjoyed a heaping plate of 5 dollar mussels in white sauce and then had a chicken cheese steak and a grilled chicken salad for dinner. The food was everything that I expected and left nothing to be desired for what we ordered. Nice place, great ambiance, good food, clean bathrooms (which is saying a lot for privately owned places that do volume.) For a town that now has quite a few restaurants and pubs, In my opinion, The Tap Room definitely in the conversation as one of the places to visit. read more

Did not have a very good experience here. It's nice that there is a second floor but there were way too many people and I could barely get from point a to point b. I stay for one drink and halfway through that a string of gum comes through the straw. Afterwards as I'm waking out I get shoved by the bouncers throwing somebody out then proceed to fight him. First off, Kaylee is one of the seven wonders of Long Island. Running a distant second, the short rib sliders with strawberry field salad was really good. They have a good beer list. I had a surprise party for my husband here and we gave a headcount of between 50-60 people. Luckily for us only 50 showed as there was NOT ENOUGH FOOD. The package includes 3 apps for 3 hours. Luckily I added an additional app, because the trays were only refilled once. There was not even enough food for all my guests to try 1 of each appetizer. It was very embarrassing. The staff quickly cleaned up the empty trays, so even if I wanted to pay for more food it was awkward for my guests who saw the clean up. After paying over $50 a head I was upset about the clear lack of food. To make matters worse I previously emailed the tap room to confirm that the food would be replenished throughout the night. I received a confirmation email that "food would be replenished based on consumption". This was clearly not the case. I am so disappointed as I will never get this day back, i did so much planning to make this night special for my husband and my guests and many went home hungry. One of the major reasons I picked that tap room was because they have good food, yet half my guests were unable to try the food. I am so disappointed and I don't want anyone else to feel this way. read more
