Amazing, fresh food with lots of flavor and protein choices. Impressed with how fresh the food is and how much variety is offered on the menu as far as flavor profiles. Would eat here again if I came back to Seattle! The bell pepper dip with pomegranate is out of this world. read more

This is the best middle eastern restaurant in Seattle. Looking around the place you'll find most guests are from the region and come here for a taste of home. The pita is so fresh and warm. And the baba ghanouj is hands down the best in the area. It has a nice toasted eggplant taste which makes it perfect. Deliciously seasoned meat and aromatic rice on each plate. So so good! My only wish is for faster service at the table. read more

10/10. Everything was just amazing! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Very helpful when we asked questions about the menu. He gave us a full run down of the menu. As we waited for our food the waiter brought out the Turkish coffee as well as the Mint lemonade. Both were great, definitely worth getting. The cold sides came out before the main dishes. They were all just delicious. They tasted fresh and delicious. The hummus is worth it for sure! MUST GET!!! The main dishes were clean and fresh without making you feel guilty. I know we all don't like eating stuff that feels greasy in our mouths. Everything was fresh and not greasy at all! The ambiance was very intimate and family friendly. Worth going to! 5/5 read more

So I had always seen this place but didn't go in until I had a happy little accident today. I WAS planning to go to another restaurant for some mexican after working out for the gains but I was using gmaps and a little lost and some person honked and went past me and they turned into there so I wasn't about to go in there. Anyway, I decided to try this out and off the bat I was seated promptly, the water was refreshingly cold without any ice which is great! The aesthetic allows one to take in a bit of that Mediterranean/Lebanese culture. I asked what's good here and the waiter said "Everything but try the chicken schwarma." Then they gave me bread, oil and baba ghanoush while I waited. The bread came straight out of the oven and was simply divine. Paired with the oil, it was good, but with the baba ghanoush, my mouth was in heaven! Keep in mind, this was before the chicken schwarma came. When the entree came, I was expecting a greasy mess wrapped in some pita bread. Lo and behold, I was surprised when I saw the chicken with rice and onions and some kind of sauce. I knew then, this was not the average chicken schwarma joint. One bite later and I was swimming in the most wonderful hearty flavors. The different components of the dish came together to lift my spirits and for a moment all was right with the world. When I finished, I had a full belly and good moods. The servers were top notch as well, offering to refill the refreshingly cold water and offering more freshly baked bread. I'd recommend coming here for some nice ambiance, good food, and top notch service. read more

Walked in and got seated on a Friday night. Lovely food and incredible service with warm bread, delicious dips and the halloumi fries are 10/10. Large open design as you'd expect for the area. What a terrific experience. We have been here twice and both times it was excellent. The food is so fresh and flavorful. And the portions are huge. The complimentary basket of pita and dip is almost a meal in itself. We tried the chicken shawarma, gyro sandwich, stuffed grape leaves, babaghanouge, fried cauliflower (arambeet) and it was all excellent. The room is very comfortable and the staff is incredible helpful and pleasant. The pricing is extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. Highly recommended. Finally, we really appreciate the expanded hours. So many places close midday or weekends but Tanoor is always (almost) open to serve a great meal. read more

Came in here with a group and had an okay dinner. The service was very very slow for a night when the restaurant was half full. The appetizers were better than the mains - especially the chicken. While we were there, someone asked one of the waiters about the owner's beliefs and, well, probably something to google. read more

I just left the restaurant, and I am writing this review with the sincere hope that it reaches the owner, Fayyad. The interior of the restaurant is truly beautiful, and the decor is excellent. However, it is disheartening to see that the food quality does not match the effort put into the atmosphere or the high expectations of the community. The food does not taste like authentic Lebanese cuisine. Instead, it feels more like Mexican cooking, but it lacks authenticity because the chef is attempting to force it into a Lebanese profile. I always try to support local businesses, and my goal is simply to share constructive feedback so the owners can save this restaurant. My wife and I ordered the combo meal for 2-3 people. Unfortunately, we could barely eat any of it. The grilled meats were extremely dry and very chewy. I truly hope management takes this feedback to heart, as the venue has so much potential. read more

Delicious food and fantastic service! I failed to take photos, but the non-stop fresh pita was the absolute highlight. They were delicate with a right amount of chew, and came out so hot we sometimes had to wait a minute before digging into them. The restaurant is airy and spacious, and has a feel of special occasion with the numerous chandeliers and a tall ceiling. Everything was delicious, but the thing that really stood out to me was the z'atar and fresh pita; it was just such a nice touch to set the right mood for the rest of the meal. I am planning on coming back, and often! PS. This place is halal, which means lots of lovely NA beverage options, but you'll have to get your alcoholic beverages before or after! read more

**vegetarian review** Tanoor is a big space with nice ambiance and big menu. I got the Fatayir Spaneekh, Labhneh sandwich, and 2 lemonade - mint and rumman. In addition we had the complimentary pita bread with zatar and olive oil dip. The overall service was quite fast. I loved the pita bread and the dip - the bread was super fresh and delicious. I wasn't too impressed by the labneh sandwich. It was underwhelming with very little flavour and tbh I should knock down another star for it. The Fatayir Spaneekh was so so so good that I am not dropping that star. I loved the freshness and the flavour. The portion size - everything about it really. Finally the lemonades are really good as well- not too sweet. And well balanced taste. Would go back for the Fatayir Spaneekh read more

We had such a great experience at Tanoor for dinner! To start, the pita and its olive oil and zaatar dip was delicious. The decor and vibe inside were lovely and so inviting. We had the mint lemonada and rumman lemonada to drink and they were pretty refreshing. We shared a mezze medley which had all hits, no misses. Particularly tasty were the halloumi fries and the muhammarah. We also took home the knefeh which came with instructions on how to prepare it at home, and that was super tasty. What really stood out to us was the service and hospitality by our server! Nathan was super helpful, kind, generous, and knowledgeable which made our experience really excellent. Thank you!! read more

My husband discovered Tanoor when he first moved to Seattle in 2021. He was here alone and he wanted Middle Eastern food all the time. When I came to visit him before I moved here he took me to Tanoor and I was happy that they have gluten free options. The owner is celiac so it makes it easier when they know what they are doing. Personally I like Tanoor for the hot and cold appetizer. They have a new item on the menu that is gluten free fried chicken which is so good. Plus they are fixable to change things for allergies reasons. Other food is okay but again I am very picky eater. Service is amazing always. The restaurant definitely gave you a Middle Eastern vibe. read more

excellent service, very tasty food. Vry gld that we gave it a try. No alcohol was not a problem!

We stumbled onto this spot whilst looking for something new by the water and close to our hotel. WHAT. A. FIND! Easily the most memorable meal we've had stateside in recent history. Upon entering immediately see a giant open oven ware a woman, who appears to be an absolute master of her craft, just making fresh peta bread that pops up just slightly. This bread makes its way to your table in whatever quantities you desire. It's also served with a bit of olive oil, spices and sesame seeds. It's absolutely spectacular! The rest of the restaurant is open with tables, booths and some very traditional and lovely lights. The food is obviously what you're coming for here! They have a number of different combo type options that include meat and starters. For our family of five, we ended up ordering three main dishes and about five or six small ones. It was way more than we needed, but the food was so good we ended up eating most of it. The food is flavorful, fresh and beautiful to look at. We started with some Mint Lemonada and and Rumman Lemonada. Both were particularly good, with the Rumman Being a bit more memorable. The combination of pomegranate and orange is quite lovely! The lamb kebab was as good as any we've had, the spicy hummus and baba ghanouj were both phenomenal, and the halloumi fries and batata harra were dream worthy! The cheese fatayir Is the overall winner of favorite dish though. It was like a pita, grilled cheese and a quesadilla I had a wild evening and produced the most delicious offspring since time started! If you have the chance to go here, you really should take advantage! The food here was both beautiful and delicious, the service was quick and friendly, and the overall vibe was just perfect. You'll be happy you checked this place! read more

We really don't have a good Mediterranean restaurant in Hawaii. So when my best friend suggested we tried Tanoor while in Seattle. I was ecstatic. The ambiance is modern and unique with a really nice bar. Love their decor. We had reservations for lunch. Was immediately greeted by our host. Great variety of selections on the menu. The complimentary pita bread was sooo amazingly fresh. I wish I had some right now. We order stuffed grape leaves, garlic fries, and tabouleh salad. The portion was large that 2 people couldn't eat it all. I ordered the Mashawi Kabob combo, and my best friend ordered lamb shish Kabob. Both dishes come with tomatoes, parsley, and choice of rice. We've been to this Tanoor twice. Both times the food has been excellent. Service- Last time the service was mediocre. This time the service was downright neglectful. It wasn't even that busy, there were plenty of personnel, and still the server was inattentive and acted like we were interrupting his gamer vibe. Ambiance- The ambiance is pretty and rustic-elegant. However, the service was so bad and clueless that it really put a damper on it. The Tanoor in Sammamish is better overall, even though it's farther away for us. read more

I had heard good things about Tanoor on the eastside and decided to try Tanoor SLU for my birthday as it is closer to where I live. First off, loved that they have so many vegetarian options, something I am not used to in many restaurants and something that is increasingly becoming an important criteria for me. My friend and I tried a dip, an appetizer and a main dish that was veggie forward. The portion sizes were great, the flavor absolutely fantastic! Loved each of our delicious choices. I've ordered from this restaurant a handful of times. Once for a work catering event, and at least 3 times as take out. The food has definitely gone downhill here since this location opened. The quality used to make the somewhat higher than average prices worth while, but now it's no better than many food trucks and honestly worse than quite a few of them - all for "three dollar sign" prices. The main way that I have noticed this is that the meats have gotten much tougher and greasier, indicating cheaper cuts of meat and/or cutting corners on the preparation. The service here has also gone downhill. Staff has gotten ruder and acts like everything is a chore. Furthermore, if you don't conform to their standards of "normal" whether that is gender, race, or other expressions of self, it's clear that they don't view or treat you the same as other customers. I had hoped that this was just one person having a bad day but the behaviors have been repeated and consistent and seem to be encouraged by management/ownership. Overall, although this used to be a favorite parents-are-visiting/celebratory-meal/work-is-paying type of restaurant for me, I can no longer recommend going here. read more

This food is absolutely amazing. The starter bread is super fluffy and paired so well with the olive oil. The beef and lamb sfiha was my standout, even though it was an appetizer, it was amazing and could definitely fill me up on its own. The kafta sandwich was also delicious, with extremely tender juicy chicken that was cooked perfectly. This place is definitely on the pricier end, and service could be slow at times, but the food quality just makes it worth it read more

Went here the other day with my family and had a fantastic experience all around. The food was authentic and delicious, and the venue was charming and beautiful with lamps throughout and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The highlight of our visit, though, was the host with longer black hair, who was simply enchanting. Unfortunately, he wasn't our server (still not sure how he hasn't been promoted yet!), but when we walked in, he greeted us with a bright smile and warm eye contact. He recommended the best dishes and even told my dad he looked like Frank Ocean which is something my dad still talks about daily because it made him so happy. With the incredible service from our host, the amazing food, and the lovely ambiance, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. read more

Food felt stale and/or overcooked. Service is nothing special. I almost certainly won't be back.

Originally we had planned on visiting the one in Sammamish, but stopped by this spot after visiting Lake Union Park. The Seattle location in South Lake Union is newer, wide and spacious, and well decorated. Inside was mostly occupied by large parties, likely due to the good price for a Family Mashawi. It was busier at 1-2 PM compared to noon on a weekend when first arriving, but even then had abundant open seating. Service was adequate and did not impose any pressure to leave. Complimentary pita bread was generously served. For two people, the basket came surprisingly with five and then three on refill. The bread was puffed from being freshly warmed and perfect to accompany with sauces. For Mashawi dishes, it comes with the following choices: - Rice: Yellow Rice, Lentils & Rice, or Combination - Sides: Any Cold Mezze Appetizer, Salad, French Fries or Batata Harra ----- Kafta Kabob: grilled ground beef & lamb kabob, tomato, onion, parsley, tzatziki, your choice of rice & side order ($27). I picked Combination for rice and Muhammara (red pepper, walnut, breadcrumbs, pomegranate molasses, parsley & olive oil) for the side. Everything was delectable, especially the kabob with its savory taste and soft texture. Portions were plentiful. ----- Batata Harra: hand-cut Fries topped with toum & Aleppo pepper, served with a side of tanoor signature Batata Harra sauce ($7). The garlic sauce on top was flavorful enough that the fries didn't need to be dipped in the Batata Harra sauce. The sauce was spicy and actually great to accompany with the bread and entrées. ----- Note that a 5% service charge gets added to the check. Guest Wi-Fi is available. read more

Went there for dinner and found this place super pricey for what was served on the plate. Food was pretty average in taste. Ordered Arambeet plate and was served a plate full of rice with some fried super oily cauliflower and a side, that for a price of $24. Mixed grill for $80, serving just 2 people was also not good in taste. Would never give it a try again. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for quite a while and finally got the opportunity after the opera this past Sunday with my wife and parents. So good! I miss the original Mediterranean Kitchen that used to be on Roy (?) years ago, but this is a close approximation to get my Middle Eastern cuisine fix. Really loved the fresh pita and hummus. Batata fries with toum and the hot sauce were amazing, as was the star of the show: beef + lamb shawarma. Always my fav, and this didn't disappoint. Even though I've never been to the Middle East, the amount of spices in the food made me feel like I was there. It didn't taste dumbed-down for the American palette. Very fragrant, everything fresh. Love the toum. It's not perfect though. I felt the service could have been better, and my #1 complaint is that there is NO WINE. There is nothing quite like a glass of dry red wine with some lamb over rice, so that part was quite sad actually. Shish tawook was nicely seasoned but not really cooked to my liking. Chicken breast is always a tough one, and I don't feel like they mastered it. Texture was a bit weird in places. I also do not appreciate the automatic service charge. I know this is an upscale neighborhood and "everyone's doin' it", but just letting you know customers like myself are fed up with this. Pay your employees and raise the prices. Stop trying to hide them in the fine print. read more

Service was very attentive and friendly, the ambiance was also very nice. We got complimentary hot fresh pita bread with an olive oil dip, but actually it went really well with the muhammara and baba ghanoush that came as sides to our orders. I ordered a beef and lamb shawarma plate with lentils rice and I thought it was quite good, not too dry as it can sometimes be at other places. The tzatziki sauce was also great. Our table also got Turkish coffee to share and the silverware was so gorgeous! I'm not a huge coffee connoisseur but I thought the coffee had a nice smooth flavor. Btw, they have decaf! read more

Got a takeout order of the lamb kabob plate. Was ready in ~20 minutes which was reasonable. The restaurant looks like a decent sit-down place and wasn't too crowded on a Friday night, but of course I didn't dine in. I got my lamb kabob plate with half yellow rice and half lentil rice, and got babaghanouge for the side. The order also came with some tzatziki and a flatbread. There were 6 okay-sized pieces of lamb, and the meat was tender and tasted good. The rice was alright. The bread wasn't my favorite. Heating the bread in the microwave made it a bit better, and I used it to dip into the babaghanouge which I liked. Overall the food was decent. Not huge portions but sufficient. The lamb plate is $23 before tax/tip, so definitely sit-down restaurant prices and not the best value for takeout. read more
