Lovely little market/ restaurant I got the danoori bowl. I think I would ask for less oil next time but all fresh and tasty. Great service.

Chicken with beef rice, zataar fries, falafel
Sarah M.

We ordered takeout. Falafel - I don't personally love falafel but this was probably the best I've had. it had a nice outer exterior (not rock hard!) with a soft and fluffy interior and I could taste the freshness! And thumbs up on the generous amount of hummus it comes with. Chicken with beef rice - I think the mix of proteins in this dish works beautifully. I loved getting bites of beef and rice which the rice was plump and fluffy, delicious! And the chicken pieces were good too. Fries - are coated with zataar and sesame seeds. I noticed a lot of it fell to the bottom of the container though so maybe shaking it up would've helped, and personally I needed more salt. They were long and thickly cut with a mix of the floppy and the crispy edge pieces. I only wished they weren't so greasy. I so appreciated the amount of dipping sauce it came with because I'm usually running out of whatever sauce im given but not here.

After exploring Discovery park in Seattle, my partner and I were needed some sustenance. We searched on yelp and this place came up. The guy working the order counter was super friendly and helpful. The spot was nice and clean. Our orders came out relatively quick and the food was indeed yummy! We were quite satisfied with the flavor explosion. Lol If you are in the area, come check them out and you will not regret it!

Loved discovering a delicious Lebanese restaurant in Magnolia and close to Discovery park! Cute interior with some grocery or take home items and spreads and a solid food menu. I tried the chicken flatbread sandwich and my friend tried the ruz wi djaj and some lebanese soda. Everything was so good. I loved the flavors of the chicken and everything in the sandwich - including radish and another crunchy veggie (not sure what it was) - it helped to cut down on the heaviness and bring out flavors. It was a substantially large sandwich but I couldn't help but finish it all. I am a fan... and also a new fan of the sodas we got - it was not super sweet and just a great to go with my food. Will definitely return again to try more things and get more soda!

My husband and I shared the Ruz wi Djaj (chicken over rice), bentinjan fatteh (eggplant with yogurt over rice), fattoush salad and a side of falafel for lunch. We liked the Ruz wi Djaj better and added some chili oil too, which made it even more flavorful. The falafel was excellent and perfectly crispy; it was nice that it came with some dipping sauce. I liked the eggplant but it was a little bland to my husband. For dessert, we had the walnut baklava and Tahini chocolate chip cookie. The baklava was tasty and very buttery. The cookie was just OK and very thin. It might be better warmed up, but I'd recommend getting The Cookie at nearby Met Market instead. It took about 30 minutes for our takeout order to be ready.

Incredible flavors and simple, delicious menu. Its a lil deli style restaurant where you go up to the counter and order. The meat dishes were perfect and hit the spot for middle eastern food- growing up in the middle east , it stood out from the normal Mediterranean style joints around town. Lots of seating and no crowd on a sunday late afternoon. We got the chicken plate( Ruz wi Djaj) beautifully flavored chicken on a bed of spiced beef rice - highly recommend this. Rice also has some minced meat in it. Good portion size, ate half and took the rest home for dinner. Also got a side of labneh with pita. The pita was the lovely lavash style and thin. There were also gluten free options for the pita. Only wish here was to have the pita served warm. Will ask for them to warm it up next time. There were two vegetarian options with eggplant with rice or in a sandwich and sides/ dips. Loved the rotating cookie selection. The chocolate tahini cookie was great. They have beer/ wine and sodas from the fridge. And you can bring in coffee/ tea from the cafe next door.

Yum! Stopped here on the way back from a morning walk at Discovery Park. It's a simple place, a counter and a few shelves with Middle Eastern groceries. They carry some very delicious items. I ordered the Betinjan Fatteh - eggplant cooked with chickpeas in a rich tomato sauce, topped with yogurt and pine nuts, served over a minty rice. Great combination of flavors and textures. I got a cookie, some labneh and crunchy chickpeas to go. The cookie was tahini chocolate chip, very tasty, lots of chocolate. Will enjoy the other items with my lunch this week. I am looking forward to trying more dishes here in the future. A good excuse to take a walk at Discovery Park.

I have a soft spot for restaurants with a market! Everything here tasted very homemade and was delicious! Stuff tried: Muhammara khibz: so good! Toast topped with the savory walnut spread! Fattoush salad: my go to salad at middle eastern places. the ultra healthy salad with that unique sumac flavor is studded with fried pita chips Bettinjan fateh: sort of an eggplant and chickpea stew over minty rice. 1st time tasting this dish! Yogurty and refreshing! I loved the muhammara topping so much i bought a tub of it along with a bag of fried pita chips from the market! Snacks for days!

Fresh foods for sure. Every ingredient seems to be good for the stomach. The Ruz Wi Djaj was okay. I sounded tasty but fell quite short. Had to ask for some hot sauce. Very little chicken and was low key dry. Beef kafta was pretty tasty but again meat kinda dry. Overall healthy foods but not sure I would go again! Thanks

Shooby Doo Catering

Pioneer Square

We had our annual event on October 8th at the Edmonds Waterfront Center with Shooby Doo catering as…read morethe food vendor. The Waterfront Center has them as an exclusive contract so we had no choice but to use this caterer. We signed up with them back in 2020 believing that we would have an in-person event in 2021 but the Delta virus made us have to do a virtual event. Shooby-doo refused to refund our significant down-payment, so we were stuck with them for a future opportunity. Which we utilized them, as I said, on October 8th 2022. The tasting that we did those years ago was absolutely wonderful. The food was quite delicious. And that team worked with us to make sure that we would have a really good selection of food items to meet all pallets, allergies, and so forth. Thus, the food is quite expensive. The major issue that we had with this company is that we are a non-profit organization and have to abide by state guidelines in regard to serving alcohol. It was almost impossible to work with Scooby-Doo on this issue because they had really bad information that they kept telling us was accurate. It was not good. It took weeks on end to finally get them to deal with the state directly and understand that we were correct and we would not do anything that would potentially jeopardize our nonprofit status. In the end it was resolved well but the frustration that we were put through is still something that has a scab on the wound. One expects for someone who is providing a service that particularly has to meet state guidelines would know what they are doing and what they are talking about. And not asking us to work in a gray area. And that's what we were told over and over again. "Just work in the gray area", but like I said it was finally resolved. One other minor thing that was aggravating but we dealt with quickly was them wanting us to get more alcohol than we needed. We got what we knew we needed and still had a few bottles left over. And the only other minor aggravation was they didn't know their full contract the evening of when everything was said and done. They thought we were supposed to be out of the building at 10:00 p.m. but we were actually scheduled to be out by midnight. Again it got resolved but it was something else to add to a more stressful moment in time. Now on to the good stuff: The night of the event was extraordinary. Their employees had everything set up in advance as it was supposed to be and the venue looked amazing. They were so friendly, accommodating, and easy to work with. They literally catered to our every need asking questions along the way to make sure that we were satisfied before our guests even arrived. The staff members were amazing. The food was out of the ballpark extraordinary. People absolutely loved the food. We had a double-sided buffet in order to make things would go smooth and quickly. I'm glad we opted for that rather than having them serve the dishes. It worked well. I'm absolutely sure that we would never use Shooby Doo again for our agency events, because of the massive issues we had with them in the beginning. However, I do think they would be good for things that are not related to being a non-profit: Like weddings, birthdays, small corporation celebrations, and such. If you're considering Shooby Doo to cater your nonprofit organization, be careful, be warned, and make sure you check everything, especially the legality around alcohol service. Also, know and monitor the contract so that you know exactly what's in it. While the service was excellent the night of, and the food was extraordinary, the price tag on this event was far more than we anticipated. We recognize that food costs are up and inflation is a nightmare but this is a very expensive catering service. Scooby-Doo gets a five star on the food quality and the evening of service. They get a one star on the knowledge on working with nonprofits, or at least with our non-profit. They get a negative 5 for not allowing us to get our down-payment back when the Delta virus came and shut everything down for everyone. I feel they should have offered it back with perhaps a small penalty but they did not so we were forced to have to use them a couple years later. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous. I told them that I would give an honest review. And this review is that.

We recently hosted an event at the Waterfront Center in Edmonds, an exquisite venue. Unfortunately,…read moreour experience with Shooby Doo catering left much to be desired. Despite hearing positive feedback about them, we were disappointed with both the service and the pricing. While the food itself was satisfactory, the service fell short of our expectations. The staff, particularly the head staff member, displayed below-average professionalism and a snarky attitude. Additionally, the setup did not align with what was agreed upon and promised beforehand. Despite planning for 90 guests, the seating arrangements only accommodated 64, causing inconvenience and dissatisfaction among attendees. During the event, the catering staff were conspicuously absent, leaving us to pick up the slack and handle tasks that should have been their responsibility. Adding to our frustration was the unexpected 23% additional fee, which the catering company failed to justify adequately. When questioned about this fee, we were met with vague explanations about covering costs, which left us feeling misled because they also leave room for minimum of 16% tip that must be paid BEFORE experiencing their service. You do the math. Overall, while the venue itself was stunning, the experience with Shooby Doo catering staff left a lot to be desired. The combination of subpar service, unexplained fees, and high pricing makes it difficult to recommend their services to others. You still have to use them if you have an event at the Waterfront. Don't get the chocolate cookies, or the deviled eggs on toast. If you go for the fruit plate, this cost us $1,710 plus tax. ($19 a person). The empanadas were yummy, the beef sliders were finished, and people complimented the salmon in puff pastry.

I ordered the Tijuana Burrito with chicken. It is supposed to come with rice, cilantro, onions, lettuce, cheese and beans. Unfortunately, it was almost all rice and really bland. There was just one bite of chicken, almost none of their homemade beans and some lettuce. Then they did not seem to have any cheese, but did have some sour cream (maybe they ran out of cheese, but should have told people). The burrito was $19 and no excuse to pack it full of rice. This was really disappointing, the food vendors here are usually excellent (my wife was smarter and had a sandwich from Purple and loved it). Perhaps the tacos or Baja Bowl are better.

It's parked in a lot that's within walking distance of my site and I imagine quite a few other places as when I would look out the window, I'd see a few people ordering each time. I decided to go with the "Street tacos" - It comes with not 3 but 4 tacos, on corn tortillas (instant points for this) and the usual other accompaniments - radish, onion, sauce. I got the 2 asada and 2 Soy chorizo as you can mix and match. The asada was good, not the best I've had when it comes to tacos and the seasoning I've had with comparable tacos, but the soy chorizo was really good. Very impressive flavor. It was about $16 I believe so about $4 a taco, not the most egregious I've seen in pricing, but decent. I also got bag of tortilla chips free, but they did give any salsa. The ones included for the tacos also were pretty small. That all said the food is decent and if you're looking for some food truck tacos and see Isidros, they'll do the trick.
