Worst hot dogs ever!! Tastes like leather. Don't eat there unless you want to get stomach problems.

Dante's catered at my company and they were great! It's hard to find good hotdogs. I wish they had a storefront I could visit!

was given a plain (cooked) hotdog & bun. reached for a mustard bottle -- it was then, that i was scolded, and told that i "had" to use toppings from another table. quite strange, i thought, as two guys ahead of me got the works (onions, peppers, cream cheese, etc), with no questions asked. to be fair, I've been to a couple of different hot dog carts, esp in cap hill, and had never encountered a situation like this before. anyway, i was a little disappointed, but what else can you expect when you descend through the nine circles of hell. read more

We hired Dante's Inferno Dogs to provide late night eats at our wedding. Not only were the brats and dogs delicious, but Dante's customer service was top notch. He was one of the easiest wedding vendors to deal with and on the day of our event provided fast, friendly service. Our guests loved it and we cajoled several out-of-towners into trying a Seattle dog. But even if you weren't ready for cream cheese on your hotdog, the other toppings were excellent. The only downside I can see is that Dante's Inferno Dogs doesn't have a regular location, so we need to be invited to an event they're catering to have it again! read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dante's. I grew up eating their hot dogs when I used to visit the Ballard market. Dante's is this little cart that has everything they need to create this masterpiece. They were at a private event tonight and I could barely contain my excitement. The line was LONG but moved so quickly with only one employee. Truly amazing. The menu consists of all beef hot dogs ($4), veggie dogs or gourmet dogs (cheddar and bacon, bratwurst, chicken basil) ($6). Chips are $1 (Frito Lay classics) and drinks are $2 (sodas and water). Then on top of it you can get these condiments: relish, jalapeno, pepperoncini, onions, grilled onions, mayo, ketchup, Sriracha, dijon, mustard, bbq, and a few more that I might be missing out. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE SO BULK UP. You go on up and tell the fabulous employee your order and he will make it fresh in front of you. I always go for the smoked bacon and cheddar dog with cream cheese, grilled onions, jalapenos, and Sriracha. They will toast the buns into crispy goodness and theyhave this cream cheese gun and he will spread cream cheese underneath your cooked meat so that it melts. DELICIOUS. Then they split the meat in half so that the grilled pickles, jalapenos, etc will nest in nicely within the meat. The grilled onions are so good and complement the hot dog very well. The hot dog is so well prepared that it isn't that messy to consume. There literally were about 15 people in front of me but the line moved in 10 minutes. Okay so a lot of people think cream cheese in a hot dog is weird but I assure you, it's delicious. Unlike all the other people in line who had no idea what to order (noobs), I went up and confidently asked for cream cheese and the employee automatically asked if I had visited them before. Why yes, yes I have. And then he replied, "Knew it. The experienced ones know to ask for cream cheese and grilled onions." So there you have it. This place is amazing and yes, it might seem pricey for a hot dog but I assure you that it's worth it. It tastes AMAZING. You can thank me later. read more

They satisfied my hot dog craving, and OH it was good. I noticed their stand in the U-Village and realized just how hungry I was. I figured that a $3 hot dog (sausage is $5) eaten outside while people-watching and looking at a turtle fountain sounded like a mighty fine idea. Was it good? OH yes. Dante's could teach NY hot dog stands a thing or two. First off, they aren't hanging on tradition, unless you tend to swing that way. Then, they can style you out with a New York dog. This is where I had my first Seattle hotdog: split down the center, toasted bun, with cream cheese, onions and sweet chili sauce. Completely hooked! Its a complete meal: protein, dairy, bread (and okay, no fruit of veg, but all the food groups that really count when you want a hot dog are well-represented here!) What could be more satisfying after a heavy night of drinking than a hot dog from Dante's? Nothing comes to mind at the moment. Normally, I prefer mine as Chicago-like as possible, but if you're in the mood for an extra 500 calories, you can load yours up with a glob of cream cheese. Yum. I also like how they don't take the dog out of water and immediately plop it onto the bun...they actually cook it first on the griddle! My favorites are the original all beef Seattle Dog, made with cream cheese from their big GUN, and their Field Roast Chipotle Vegan Sausage also with cream cheese and grilled onions and peppers! #nomnom I want one right now. They are at Ballard Farmers Market every Sunday, otherwise you need to hire them to cater your own party. They cater a lot of weddings and corporate events. I attended one event for Amazon employees once where they were serving. There are so many sausages to choose from and so many toppings! I want to try them all! They also have gluten free buns if you like that sort of thing. They sell chips and sodas and water, too. It's a perfect meal for the whole family. Children love hot dogs... Well, mine do. read more

I like disgusting food as much as the next person so when I gave up meat, I was sad to be giving up things like fast food burgers and hot dogs from carts. The vegetarian counterparts just don't cut it most of the time. Luckily for me, there is Dante's! The chipotle vegetarian dog is spicy and perfect - none of that weird fake meat texture. If I had not had to deal with Karissa's howling and drooling in my ear LIKE A HOT PUPPY about wanting to have more children with said hot dog stand owner - my experience may have been a bit different, aside from losing the group because it took so long to get said hot dogs because we were waiting for the "Hot ' part - The dogs were good and the fact that we needed noursihment to continue on our current venue made them fantastic! Wow, I hate to be the jerk who breaks the five star chain of reviews, but..... I can't give five stars just based on the prices. It's three bucks for a hot dog, five for sausage. If you're going to charge ballpark prices, there really should be some sort of entertainment available. That is, other than the drunks staggering out of King's Hardware. At the risk of being the geezer who says "I remember when hot dogs were a nickel!", check the supermarket down the street. You can get a ten pack of hot dogs for $4.49. Of course, that's a bit of a false value argument since it doesn't include toppings, bun, cooking, labor. Plus this doesn't take into account the convenience. An enema may cost $2.90, but it's priceless when you're constipated. Just so you know, Visa has refused my suggestion of using this in their marketing campaign. On the plus side, it is a pretty good hot dog and the vendors are pleasant. Just like a good bartender, they seem to always have picked up a bit of the local gossip about what's going on that evening. We hired Dante to provide late night Dogs and Desserts at our wedding. He did an excellent job and got rave reviews from all our wedding guests. We surprised our guests with Dante's as a light night treat at the Olympic Sculpture Garden. Dante provided many delicious dogs, tons of fun awesome toppings and great service. We also had Dante provide local ice cream dessert pops. Our guests raved that everything was delicious and that it was such a nice treat after a night of dancing. Working with Dante was a breeze. We learned about Dante through our caterer and wedding coordinator, who highly recommended Dante and were eager to work with him. Dante (himself) showed up around 9:30 (in plenty of time for his 10:30pm debut) with his fun cart and stayed way past the required time of midnight, to feed our guests late night cravings. His invoicing was simple and straight forward. He stayed in constant communication leading up to the wedding, confirming the day before the wedding all the details for the event. Considering this is the only hot dog vendor within a 5 mile radius at the wee hours of the morning, I was full...for about 5 minutes. When I get my hot dog with cream cheese and sriracha, I'm trying to get down. Like really feel full and terrible from all the drinking and bad behavior that's happening. The hot dog at the end of the night is just the cherry on top to make sure the night was done right. I just didn't feel full, I like to eat and when I finished my dog, I pretty much wanted another one. At $5, I could have done so but with the line curving around Bal Mar's entrance, it just wasn't worth it. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably come here again, the flavor was great. We were at the Ballard Fish Festival a few months back, and ran across Dante Inferno Dogs. Naturally, we stopped by for the Cream Cheese Hot Dog since it's on the Seattle Foodie 100 list. Call me crazy, but I do love my hot dog done clasically with just mustard, chili, and cheddar cheese. I was a bit skeptical when I saw this hot dog had no chili. I love street food like hot dog stands. Luckily, Dante's Inferno Dogs has several stands throughout Seattle (just saw them this past Thursday at the Olympic Sculpture Park Farmer's Market). They are a sight for sore eyes at different events when you just want a really quick and delicious bite. Today I was at University Village feeling a little hungry (as usual) and wanted something besides a normal sit down dining experience. I walked by the Dante's Inferno Dogs stand and was immediately drawn in. I checked out the menu and was surprised to see so many condiments to choose from that are all included in the price. I love to try new foods and crazy combinations, so I ordered the all beef hot dog with: cream cheese, grilled onions and bell peppers, relish, banana peppers, celery salt, ketchup, and sweet chili sauce. It was crazy good. I love that they butterfly the dog and then grilled it to perfection on both sides. The bun is extremely fresh and practically melts in your mouth. If you're a visitor or have never eaten street meat in Seattle, you'll notice every hot dog stand in Seattle offers cream cheese on a hot dog. Don't freak out, and don't deny the goodness that awaits you. Likely, you've already been out gorging yourself on beers/martinis/whiskey and cokes, and the extra calories from cream cheese on a hot dog aren't going to kill you (I say that in a hopeful manner, but I take no legal obligation if it actually does, fatty). I've had the dogs by the Showbox, had 'em all over Capitol Hill, and none of those hot dogs even come close to the awesomeness that is a Dante's Dog. I'm not even the world's biggest hot dog fan, but a recent trek to Ballard necessitated a post-Tractor Tavern dog from Dante's. Regular beef dog, cream cheese, grilled bell peppers and onions, sweet chili sauce and a bit o' sriracha on there for me, please. Absolutely heaven in a bun. Also, given the nature of the weekend Ballard crowd (I'm looking directly at you, Affliction-shirt wearing dudebros walking out of King's Hardware), the guys working at the Dante's cart deserve a very special, very quiet corner in heaven to go with their earthly sainthood. Always nice, always smiling, always looking like they're having the time of their lives, even while dealing with drunken cro-mag frat boys trying to maneuver through their wallets for 5 bucks. Thanks to Maria C. leading a group of us to Dante's cart in Pioneer Square, during our first Thursday Art Walk (see her review) - I got to experience the greatness that is Dante's. I wish some restaurants were run as efficiently and enthusiastically as Dante runs this cart. As Maria stated in her review - Dante will custom make your dog. He has a great selection of sausages and also Brat's. The condiment selection is terrificly varied in flavor combinations. I chose the Italian sausage with: cream cheese (oh yea, I said cream cheese), jalapenos, sauerkraut and Dijon mustard. It was, well, orgasmic. Truly. My taste buds were so unbelievably happy. In fact, when I was finished, Mitzie offered me some of her water and I refused... I didn't want to wash away a single bit of the taste lingering in my mouth! Thanks Dante, it was great! read more

Dante's catered our welcome BBQ for our wedding in Washington last month. The catering service was a hit with our guests; they enjoyed being able to pick their own options served fresh off the grill. Dante's serves up a great basic hot dog to innocent midday and late night passerbys alike. Their carts move around once in a while, but you can usually depend on their weekly schedule being consistent. Assuming hot dogs were their claim to fame, I ordered up a basic Hot Dog. They have a few other options, like the Bratwurst and Apple Basil, but I'll have to get those next time. For a small cart, Dante's serves up big flavors, especially when you add on toppings. This being my first hot dog in Seattle, I decided to go with the local flavor of adding cream cheese to my dog. To play off of the cream cheese, I also added on some jalapenos. When the worker asked "Anything else? Ketchup? Mustard?" I almost added more, but I said "No, thanks," and the worker responded by saying "Good man." And when I took my first bite, I was glad I had abstained from the extraneous toppings. The hot dog itself looks basic, but is filled with a solid hot dog flavor, reminiscent of the good ole days when you'd spend a Sunday swimming in your friend's backyard pool and come racing out of the pool to the smell of hot dogs on the grill. There's no grill at this stand, but it sure tastes like there is. The hot dog also has a subtle spiciness in it that isn't infernal by any means, but definitely adds to the flavor. The hot dog does a trick and a half when you take a bite with the cream cheese and jalapeno. I wasn't sure if I'd like the whole cream cheese thing, but I'm definitely glad I tried it, because it was one of the best hot dogs I've ever had. The cream cheese played off of the jalapeno's spiciness, both of which added to the slight oiliness and subtler spiciness in the hot dog. The toasted bun was also basic, but didn't take away from the hot dog either. For a hotdog stand it's amazing. You can get some great dog combos you wouldn't normally have. They use top quality stuff which makes a world of a difference. Been there several times but last time I had them I was doing a Zombie walk and they were there. It was awesome to see zombies enjoying them. read more

HIt up the hot dog stand outside near the Ballard Norwegian Day Parade. Was so glad to see it had veggie options (even two varieties of dogs) and so many condiments. I love that the hot dog guy puts them on for you, I hate when all the utensils and condiments get mixed together. I did have to stand in line for awhile, but that just made me certain that the dogs must be worth the wait, but Jesse who was running the cart was doing his best to keep up. He kept the line under control and is definetely a talented multitasker. Looks like a tough job. He deserves a kudos. I hope to run into this cart again at a future event somewhere. read more

I don't know if its the cream cheese or what, but it seems Seattle dog carts just fill the post bar desire to feed like none other. And Dante's does it right. Good dogs, good toppings, and a good vendors. Whats not to like? And come on they shoot cream cheese out of a caulk gun. That alone is worth the trip. read more

Dante's offers several styles of hot dogs, including a couple of vegetarian options. Intrigued, I ordered the apple sage veggie sausage dog ($6). I asked the cart operator (I believe his name was Matthew) what to dress this dog with. He suggested grilled onions, grilled peppers, sweet chili sauce, and pickled jalapenos, so I went with that. Apparently all toppings are free, which is a huge plus (other stands could charge for extra toppings). The sage really came through on this veggie dog -- which also broke apart very easily (and yes, I prefer this to a sausage that I have to wage war with to eat). I applaud the topping suggestions here. The crunch of the grilled onions and grilled peppers, the sweetness of the chili sauce, and the mild kick from the jalapeno all worked here. It was a light, healthier snack, so I had some room for this even after stuffing my face with food a few minutes prior. For me, I would like the bun toasted just a bit more so I can get the crunch from that when eating my hot dog.
