Smokin' Pete's catered a party for us and the food was a hit! The brisket, ribs and chicken got rave reviews. The sides were amazing. Even the vegetarians were happy! We were hoping for more leftovers. Maybe next time... read more

I remember many pre-Yelp visits to Smokin' Pete's BBQ back in the day when they had a location in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood. Fast forward, they currently have a Shoreline location focused solely on catering. I stopped by for their anniversary pop-up takeout celebration on 3/15/25. I ended up selecting their trio of pork ribs with mac & cheese, cornbread and also bought a pair of mini pecan pies. Very enjoyable and congrats on the business longevity! read more

Do you ever not want to review a place because it's too good and you want to keep it for yourself. That's the way I feel about Pete's, we ordered everything off the menu ribs, brisket, chicken all the fixins, Pete did not disappoint. Highly recommended!!! read more

A very reasonably priced and delicious holiday meal with plenty leftover! Standouts were the stuffing and key lime pie, though everything was delicious. Thank you Smokin Petes BBQ for taking the cooking out of my hands this year! read more

3.75 stars. Had them cater a small lunch. They arrived early, which was appreciated. Communication (email) was also prompt. We got brisket, pulled pork and tofu for 1. Overall all was tasty. The tofu was super firm, but covered in bbq sauce. It was covered in parsley. I liked it, after pushing all the parsley off, but couldn't cut it with the dull side of a fork - needed a knife. I wasn't a fan of the beans or potato salad, but I think there was a neutral feeling towards them for everyone else. The bbq sauce provided was a tomato base, which I'm not a fan of, but the order came with it on the side so that was appreciated. We also got a side of hot sauce, which was weird, but I guess you could mix it with the bbq sauce to make it spicy. I didn't have any. The rolls were also not as expected. They were cut up pieces of french bread vs actual buns. Super soft and fresh, but it wasn't your average roll. $14.95pp for the sandwich bar + 10% delivery fee + 10% tax was approximately $235 (without tip) for a headcount of 13. read more

Housewarming party success! The polenta appetizer, cheese platter and sliders were enjoyed by all. Many complimented the food and it was the perfect amount. Julie was a great communicator and I'd definitely use them again. read more

My nephew was getting married and I was taking care of the catering for them the issue was I lived in Boise and the wedding was in the Kent area of Washington. They weee doing a country type theme so they decided on BBQ so the hunt was on. I looking high and low and was reading reviews to get something setup and Smokin Pete's BBQ has some great reviews. I talked with my nephew and his fiancé about what they would want food wise and made the call. Everyone I spoke with at Smokin Pete's was great and helpful. I got the order together and paid the deposit. The nice thing was none of us live in the area so they let me know that they could deliver everything as well. This took a huge weight off our shoulders. We arrived to the wedding venue and were working on the setup. They arrived at the perfect time so we were ready to go and get them married. During the reception everyone was talking about how good the food was. That made me feel really good about my choice. I would definitely recommend them for any catering event from an office party to a wedding. Great job to them for everything they did. read more

Great food! Picked up a large order for a 30-person party yesterday. The food was ready on time, packed securely, and DELICIOUS!

We had my wife's birthday party of 50 catered by Smokin Pete's. We ordered pulled pork, pork ribs , chicken and assorted sides like mashed potatoes, cole slaw, bread and corn muffins. The food was just so-so. The corn bread muffins were so hard we could have used them to pound nails. The mashed potatoes were cold. The only thing I think was any good was the pulled pork. Sorry but this might not have been your best effort. Won't be using them again. I chose Pete's because of the great reviews. We still tipped the servers but ... Disappointed ! read more

So greasy! Coleslaw was tasteless. Beans, tasteless. I catered for 30. They were 1/2 hour late and came only after I called. $600 down the drain. read more

Smokin Petes catered our wedding and everything was absolutely delicious! SO many guests raved about how tasty everything was - especially the pecan pie :) They were super easy to work with and Troy was a great communication partner even with my million questions and adjustments. We had a fabulous tasting and the food was just as good at the wedding! We are super appreciative of how timely they were and they provided some great bartenders for our wedding as well. We had an outdoor summer wedding in the PNW and their BBQ was the perfect addition :) Definitely give them a try for any of your events - you won't regret it! read more

Absolutely the best bb catering around! Just had an event and they supplied all the food! It was delicious and plentiful! They were accommodating with time and pick up, guests loved the food, will definitely use them again for our events! Thank you Smokin Pete's bbq for making a memorable event special! read more

Great! We had delivery- ribs, half chicken, brisket, Mac&cheese, collard greens. Came with nice sweet/spicy pickles. Portions were large, prices reasonable. Food quality very good. Brisket had nice smokey bark. Delivery with Door Dash was smooth. Meat came dry with BBQ sauce on the side. Next time I'll ask for more sauce read more

We ordered brisket and pulled pork for 110 people. They charged us $820. Sounds fair. They were supposed to deliver 4 pans of each but only delivered 1 of each and left. I tried calling but they were closed and had no way to get in touch with. We were out of meat after about 20 minutes. And pulled pork was more like chunks of meat with little flavor. I have used Smokin Pete's over a handful on time at our work summer events and holiday lunches. They have always done an AMAZING job. The staffs are professional and fun to work with and the food has always been delicious. Sad to say I was underwhelmed. I got the BBQ wings with a sweet potato cornbread muffin, and a Brisket combo plate with mac and cheese and beans. The BBQ wings weren't bbq'd it tasted like the were brined with liquid smoke and then baked in the oven with a dry rub. Flavor-wise, the wing actually tasted pretty good with a perfect balance of spicy and sweet. The sweet potato cornbread muffin was dry and I didn't taste the sweet potato. Lastly, the combo plate. The brisket was tender but under seasoned and again made me wonder if it was cooked in a oven with a dry rub. The mac and cheese was very disappointing also, bland with not nearly enough cheese or sauce. Last the cowboy beans, again disappointing, they lacked flavor and were slightly al dente. Overall a very disappointing experience and not worth the money. read more

We catered in BBQ for my birthday, the classic BBQ Selection. Julie, the owner, was great to work with. Easy and prompt communication by email and phone, very thorough and friendly. The food arrived exactly on time, the staff were professional and friendly. Most importantly the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. We had ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and sides of beans, Island coleslaw, Broccoli, and salad. The BBQ sauces were really good too! Thank you Julie! read more

Double decker barbeque slug trickling down the hatch for a gravity bomb. Smoking Petes's double decker contains sleeper agents that transforms into bricks and travels to vulnerable areas of the body disabling your mobility. It's behemoth status is doused in your choice chaser whether youre a Sweet Carolina or a spicy and mild type. Regardless of selections, after test conditions post twelve hour work shift, it has been proven with strong statistical significance that this meal will put you down until the next morning with clear recollection that a piece of meat rendered you unconsciously with your consent to consume it's delicious flavors. Terrific meal for a retirement party last night. These guys couldn't have done a better job. The food arrived on time, was absolutely terrific, all the supplies needed were included, even nice table cloths for the outdoor picnic tables. Every detail thought out. But most importantly, The food was outstanding and there was plenty for the 20 hungry big guys that were there to celebrate one of their colleagues retirement. Thank you smokin Pete's For your outstanding service. We are getting emails of appreciation this morning and know that you guys were a big part of it. They catered my party over the weekend- 40 adults and 40 kids and everyone LOVED it! Beyond the delicious food, the service leading up to the event was outstanding. Julie contacted me multiple times to get the menu on point and worked with my ever-changing number of RSVP's. She even re-tooled amounts at the last minute to perfectly accommodate the number of picky-eater kids who would be attending (lots more mac n cheese and hot dogs!) Their severs were polite and fun, and they set-up and cleaned-up with minimal direction, allowing me to actually have some fun at the party! Highly recommend!!! read more

I'm confused because there are some decent reviews but either people in Seattle don't know what good BBQ is or maybe this was a one-off. We had a party catered by these guys and I was truly surprised how bad the food was. The brisket was among the worst I've ever had, absolutely no flavor, very over-cooked, had to chew for days. The beans were completely tasteless. The jar of sweet pickles were good and they're bbq sauce on the side was decent. I haven't found truly good BBQ in Seattle but how does this place get business? Or can they not make food for larger orders? read more

I will say that the service is good, so I feel bad giving a low review. The servers were really nice and professional. The food however is absolutely underwhelming. Dry and flavorless cornbread that needs to be drowned in butter and honey. Dry meat that tastes like it was Cooked in an oven, not actually bbq'd. BBQ sauce is also mediocre. Sides are okay, but nothing tasty. read more

Smokin' Pete's catered our wedding and I cannot say enough good things about them!! Very professional, full-service catering and the food was delicious! I had many guests come up to me afterwards to say it was the best bbq they'd ever had. I am surprised we had any leftovers, but we did, because Jeannie and team provided plenty of food! In addition to the food, the catering service was fantastic. They came in, set everything up, provided all the dishes (real plates, glasses and utensils) and cleaned up afterwards. I really didn't have to worry about a thing! We looked around a lot, but it was really tough to find a caterer willing to use real dishes and also serve/clean-up. Most wanted to just drop off food, use paper plates, or charge an arm and a leg for anything extra since they don't normally do weddings. I highly recommend Smokin' Pete's for a wedding, or really any catered event. They are very experienced and prices are reasonable. read more

Smokin' Pete's BBQ catered our daughter's wedding last month. From the very beginning they stood out from all the other BBQ caterers we researched. Their proposal was complete, providing everything we asked for including things like bartenders, real dishes and glasses, tablecloths if needed, even ice cream and whipped cream for our homemade pies. They never whined about changes we made along the way, and addressing tweaks to the proposal as a matter of course. We worked with Julie and Jeannie--both are very nice, easy to work with and super agreeable people. The advance tasting they provided for four of us was fun, personal, and informative--and free, since we went ahead and booked with them. And, the food was fabulous!!!! I was concerned about serving BBQ in Seattle, with guests coming from Texas, Louisiana, and New York, but we were assured that the owners are also from the south so not to worry, their BBQ is the real thing! One reason we liked their food options was that they offer a lot more interesting side dishes than many places. We went with the Classic Barbecue: 3 meats (we chose smoked brisket, pulled pork, and BBQ chicken), 4 sides (we chose cowboy beans, potato salad, fire-roasted corn salad, wild green salad with candies pecans, feta, grapes and balsamic vinegar dressing--wow!). In addition, we added coleslaw. The classic barbecue includes sweet potato cornbread, buns, hot pickles and their BBQ sauce. ALL YUMMY! We received a lot of compliments on the food from our guests, but equally important to us, our guests told us how NICE all the staff were. This was a grand celebration--and you want any staff moving through the room to be cheery and polite, which they were. I heard that one of our guests actually signed up with Smokin' Pete's during the reception to have them cater their upcoming wedding! We provided our own beer and wine, but they brought everything else (ice, glasses, etc), and also iced tea, iced lemon water, coffee etc. All in all--a great experience and we highly recommend them. read more

Long overdue, I need to rave about our experience with the catering from Smokin Petes. I really cannot say enough good things about our catering experience with these folks. We wanted BBQ for our wedding, and pies. This want kind of inspired our vision. We looked around. A lot. We ate. A lot. We went to try Smokin Pete's and they'd JUST CLOSED their restaurant. No problem, Julie brought us an entire delectable feast to our home. Personally. No pressure. On that alone we would have chosen them for our team, we're in customer service ourselves. We recognize it when it's EXCEPTIONAL. And it was. But the dinner was so yummy. And then not only was all of the staff just awesome day of, so friendly, but just total professionals. I wore an apron so I wouldn't spill on my dress. Julie brought and helped me tie my apron personally, without even being asked, and fixed plates for my husband and me, personally. She made incredible take out boxes for us personally (that lasted us for days) so we'd make sure to have a full dinner. And for our groomsmen's house as well. I seriously get teary eyed just writing this over our incredible experience. We had pulled pork and pulled chicken with a sandwich bar, a glorious field green salad with blue cheese and grapes (yum), hot mac and cheese (what bride doesn't want that after working out hard for the dress?) and such adorable miniature pies. Our guests raved about our food. I'm raving about our food. I'd use them again and again. I cannot say enough about our awesome experience. Best. Ever. Thank you thank you thank you!!! read more

I had smokin pete's BBQ cater a large get together we had for a Seahawks party. Like the Red Robin tag line says... YUUUUUUM! These guys really know there meats! These guys are great... easy to work with, deliver a great product & provide excellent customer service. The food was fantastic (meat aside, the Southern Greens and Garlic Mashed Taters are bomb!). We will use them again without hesitation. read more

Smokin' Petes catered my dad's memorial "celebration of life" party in Edmonds last night, attended by 100+ people. They did a fantastic job - I can't say enough about how happy they made me and our guests. The food was top notch - numerous guests said it was the "best ribs they had ever had" - and everyone loved the sweet potato corn muffins and coleslaw. For me, the sweet potato pie was the best. But the real magic came with the positive attitude and personalities of the two servers and the chef. From the moment they set foot in the venue, they seemed enthusiastic and happy to be there, genuinely friendly, and offering the kindest smiles to our guests. They really worked hard and took pride in what they did - even how the food was presented was gorgeous (my mother in law mentioned it several times). It was the feeling they left us with that they enjoyed their job and the kindness of their approach that made it worth every penny. Highly recommend. read more

I just have to say, this has been an outstanding catering experience. We had an office party for a gentleman who was retiring, and he is a huge fan of BBQ. After doing some research, we settled on Smokin' Pete's. Let me say first off, the menu is amazing-so much to chose from. And you cannot go wrong on anything. We had a large crowd, and it was a feast for sure. The meats were cooked to perfection and the sides were mouthwatering. The Cowboy Beans and Mac & Cheesy were the standouts. For our starter, we chose the sweet potato corn bread rolls that were so good, people were forgetting to put honey and butter on them! The mini pies and assorted cookie platter were the perfect desserts, and were enjoyed by all. Ordering with Jeannie was a breeze-she is a consummate professional and made all of our catering wishes come true. She and Ron were right on time, despite the traffic in downtown Seattle on a Friday afternoon, and they set up a beautiful spread. I would recommend Smokin' Pete's to anyone who is looking to have catered BBQ for any occasion. read more
